Like many others, I purchased a product not knowing they wrote an 'automatic renewal' in the small print of the terms of use. Additionally, they stated in that small print that they would charge the current retail price, not necessarily what was paid originally. In my case, the renewal price was 50% higher!

NOWHERE on their web page is there any indication the purchase price is anything other than a one time price.

When I complained, they sent a gobbeldygook answer saying they would refund the renewal but it would take time. They went on to say "It is not our intention to prolong the refund period.". HAH!
Its been almost a month and no refund has been forthcoming.

They run this scam thru another company called Dri Elements.

Shame on me for not reading the terms of use (who does??)...
Worse, shame on them for being deceitful and unethical!

I just found a bill for PC TOOLS on my debit card online statement. I don't ever recall purchasing this product, but there it is, $29.99 for spyware doctor. Sure enough, I had an online account with PC TOOLS establishing that I have a subscription for this until next year.

I'm confused and kinda ticked off.

yes. I got the same automatic renewal charge on my credit card. Evidently they buried this fact in some fine print that I didn't read when I purchased it online over a year ago.

Everyone add PC tools to your list of internet scum bags who will do anything to earn a buck.
