PayPal money transfer

Yesterday, I made money transfer in order to use megavoip for international calling. I followed the instruction to buy credits, and I paid via pay pal by using debit card, but unfortunately there is no credits in my megavoip account despite the money was withdrawn from my bank account.

PayPal unfair business practices

This is a complaint to make everyone aware of unfair business practices Paypal uses in regards to their users' financial information and, perhaps, solicit ideas from others, who experienced their behavior, in how to resolve this. I attempted to reason with them to no avail.

I had a business account setup with Paypal to process payments for memberships for a small dating website. They have reviewed the website while setting up my credit card processing, etc. Four years later, December 2010, after what seemed like a productive business relationship, I was informed that my website violates Paypal's AUP. Basically, some member profiles had language that could be construed as sexual (moderated website: no explicit description of activity or explicit pictures were ever allow on my website!), etc and per Paypal, "they prohibit use of Paypal's services for such purposes, etc." I tried to find out more from them, received a phone call from someone and discussed my confusion how this is different from match.com (where I have seen far racier profiles) or adamandeve.com (where they quite explicitly describe their sex toys), but to no avail. Mind you, my website is non-explicit and fully moderated. That notwithstanding, it is a matter of what Paypal calls "brand protection", so I let it go. It is their brand, they do not want my business or affiliation with me. No problem.

Here is where interesting things start. My account was, of course, now "limited." Not much of a balance, but still not sure why I have to wait for 6 months before I can remove it. Most credit card providers will not even deal with refund requests after 30-60 days. I had a very lenient refund policy and if a member felt they are getting less they paid for, I always volunteered a refund even if they did not ask for one! No complaints from Paypal regarding payment processing in all 4 years. I, myself, even reported what looked like a suspicious payment to Paypal, asked to investigate, and refunded it once or twice!

After waiting 6 months and having transferred my balance out of Paypal account, I proceeded to remove my bank information from my profile only to find out that I am not allowed to. Now, I understand that Paypal will keep my account locked and limited (will not use any of their services in the future, anyway), I have a huge problem with them having what is basically a debit authorization on my bank account in perpetuity. I discussed this issue with my bank and they told me that since I authorized Paypal through their website, I also have to "deauthorize" through the same process.

Having read plenty in the past about others' woes when dealing with Paypal after their accounts were limited (just do Google search!), I figured I will write them a strongly-worded email stating that while I am not requesting they close my "limited" account, I want my credit card and bank account information removed because I do not want to fall victim to someone hacking their databases or in other way abusing my accounts (debit in perpetuity!). They declined on the basis that they did not want the same bank information used in creating other accounts and offered their assurances on how well they protect their users' information.

I contemplated a bit further and decided to seek a compromise. I offered to send them a signed affidavit where I will state that I will not be creating any Paypal accounts and have them remove financial information from the account in question without removing the account itself. They declined and informed me that I exhausted my appeals. Again, they offered their assurances about their security.

While I was dealing with this account and, obviously, frustrated with their attitude as well as delivering on my future promise of not creating new accounts or using their services, I went ahead and closed my other Paypal account, which only had a few transactions and was barely used. More about this account later.

Sorry for the long introduction. It is only to show the situation in correct light (it is not about Paypal processing service--a few minor annoyances, but otherwise alright). So here is the basis of my complaint:

*** I am absolutely not happy that they are retaining my financial information, even after I specifically asked them to remove it. My bank, in fact, stated that after I requested them to "deauthorize" my account for debit, they must honor it, and any transaction after the fact would be considered illegal. ***

I am not comfortable with their retaining my financial information, especially in the light of the following:

http://ucclaw.blogspot.com/2009/09/paypal-account-hacked.html
http://techcrunch.com/2010/08/23/paypal-itunes-fraud/
http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?195062-Paypal-account-hacked..

Just do a Google search http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8&q=paypal+accounts+hacked and find out for yourself.

Remember the 2nd Paypal account I mentioned of closing? Well, that account was rarely used. It was not limited. Before I closed it, I removed bank information from it and Paypal confirmed it via email. The kicker?! Once I closed the account--having resisted Paypal's temptations not to 4 times--I received an email stating that my billing arrangement with iTunes Store has been cancelled. I don't remember ever having a billing arrangement with iTunes Store. I never bought any music from iTunes (I know, it is impossible to believe!). Now, read the second link above about Paypal/iTunes fraud and you tell me why I should trust Paypal with the security of my financial information (N.B., Paypal was not implicated in this fraud). The way I see it, if they don't have my information on file, there's nothing to steal. Even one of my credit card providers-a huge bank--was hacked. So why should I trust Paypal with my information, when I don't even plan to use their services anymore?!

BTW, when I replied to my 2nd account cancellation notice, telling them that I did not have a billing arrangement with iTunes, I received an automated reply (with my full name 2 hours after I cancelled the account!) telling me I have to submit my inquiry via a website. Nice!

I promised them I will not roll over and let it slide, so this complaint is my first step. I am considering others as well, including filing this complain with a Better Business Bureau.

Any other ideas?

PayPal avoid this company and alert others to avoid this company as well

After several weeks and many phone calls I have given up. The PayPal plus operations are either in shambles, suffering from neglect, or fraudulent. Every attempt to settle a requested charge back has ended in no action what so ever. The latest attempt required I file a new (second request) and then fax the evidence to [protected] . This phone number does not work! Avoid this company and alert others to avoid this company as well. In my opinion the brand 'PayPal' is severely tarnished. I will never trust any eBay product again.

I fully agree with this post as I have personally been scammed out of USD883.60 by PayPal when withdrawing funds from my PayPal to my registered and verified bank account.
The transactions (2 in total - 1 for USD500 in February 2013 and the second for USD383.60 in January 2014) show completed however were never in my bank account.
I contacted PayPal more than 50 times via phone and sent over 100 emails. Their customer service staff does nothing to assist and simply do not care to help their customers trace missing funds.
PayPal advertise itself as trusted and reliable and I have found out the hard way - TWICE - that this is a blatant lie.

PayPal ebay and paypal are too big and too powerful

eBay and Paypal have an obvious monopoly (eBay owns Paypal) as demonstrated by the following:
- eBay encourages the use of Paypal and makes Paypal the easiest payment method without providing the same level of support for non-Paypal options
- eBay automatically freezes Paypal funds indiscriminantly based on a complaint by a buyer unlike standard credit card industry practice on billing/charging complaints
- eBay accesses your Paypal account without permission
- eBay continues to raise fees on sellers
- eBay has removed the ability to provide negative feedback on buyers
- eBay and Paypal "double dips" by collecting money from the Buyer/seller on the front-end and the back-end of the transaction - no bundled pricing given that they show incredible favoritism to using Paypal when selling on eBay

I have been an eBay member since 2000 with 100% positive feedback. I am not a store, not a business; just someone that wants to occasionally buy and sell things. In recent years eBay has made it increasing tougher on Sellers in their fee hikes, the way the handle feedback and they way they handle disputes. Recently I experienced my first complaint.

The Buyer complained 1 MONTH after the end of the auction claiming that the package came but had been opened (a hole in the package) and the item removed. Being a month after the fact it makes it really difficult to pursue anything with the shipping provider. I responded immediately to the buyer and despite the extreme lag between the sale and the report of a problem, I offered to resolve the problem. I tried to gather facts so that I could work within the system to research with the shipping company. He immediately starting threatening negative feedback and wanting a refund (within hours of the first notification of the complaint). I cancelled the transaction in eBay so that I could get the eBay fees back, and the buyer agreed to the cancellation. The buyer asked for a specific amount of a refund ($130 out of a $180 sale) so I viewed this as a compromise due to his lateness in reporting the problem so I refunded the money as requested. A week later the buyer demanded that I pay him more money - he wanted the full amount of the money refunded (basically asking for the shipping fees, Paypal fees, and the remaining difference (roughly $67 total). I explained that this was unfair especially since he took so long to report the problem AND because he asked for a specific amount to be refunded which I immediately honored in 24 hours from the request! The Buyer explained that the original refund request was a mistake and tried to say it was a typo but the amount wasn't off by any single digit being mistyped and was actually documented twice in two emails. He again threatened to leave negative feedback and that he would pursue within eBay and Paypal. So I continued researching with the shipping company and within eBay/Paypal on policies. But the Buyer declared me as unresponsive after 3 days, filed a complaint with eBay, put negative feedback on a canceled transaction (not sure how/why eBay would allow/permit this), and turned the matter over to the Resolution Center (a Hell hole for Sellers). So this is where the Big Brother Monopoly of eBay and Paypal wields their monstrous and totally thougtless heavy hand!

So despite the fact that I had already paid out $130, eBay reached into Paypal and put a hold on my account for the FULL amount of the original transaction - thrusting my Paypal account into the negative (overdrawn!) without notifying me, without calling me, and with total disregard of the relevant facts! So EBAY DOESN'T take the time to perform ANY commonsense thinking or analysis and apply it the situation (this is the thoughtless part) and expect me to be without my original item, without the shipping fees already paid, without the Paypal fees already paid, without the $130 already paid, and now are freezing 100% on an item that was delivered. The Buyer states he was traveling which is why it took him so long (1 month) to report a problem but with a month going by and a package sitting somewhere in his possession, who knows who might have had access to the package to steal the contents! So after talking to the buyer by the phone he started to see my point and was willing to compromise by asking that I pay a lesser amount (basically without the shipping and Paypal fees). But due to the Big Brother Monopoly with eBay and Paypal, I can't refund the money since eBay reached into my Paypal account and sucked out ALL my money and left me with a negative balance! I guess the Big Brother Monopoly of eBay and Paypal want me to fork over EVEN MORE money (I am already out the full value of the original item, out all the shipping fees already paid, all the Paypal fees already paid, out the $130 already refunded, out the 100% of the Paypal payment received for the dubiously disappearing product, and now they want me to shell out even more money!?!?!?!?!?! No company show have this much power and that basically goes unchecked!

Time to look at eBid and Webstore!

eBay and Paypal should be broke up and they need to be seriously fined. I will be seeking any and all class action lawsuits and encouraging more lawsuits not to get rich but to end their tyrannical practices!

Paypal reserves the right to freeze your founds, your money, yoyr shekels, your dollars, any amount of founds available in your paypal account for 180 days (6 months) AND if this miserable company, called “paypal” just wants, or if one of their miserable “employes” will decide to Freeze & Close YOUR founds, tyour shekels, your dollars in your paypal account they Will Freeze them for 6 months (180 days) no question asked to you (THE CUSTOMER)
In addition when thios miserables “decide” to freeze a paypal account because NOBODY KNOWS WHY, they ALSO close your account after the 6 months (180 days passed)

So first they make a lot of profit charging the so called “paypal fees”
Second if thewy “just want” THEY will freeze your founds, your shekels, your dollars or any curerency for 6 months (180 days) and they WILL NOT PAY YOU INTERESTES – NO!

YOU WILL SEND THEM FAXES AND EMAILS WITH DOZES OF DOCUMENTS, INCLUDING YOUR PRIVATE AND PERSONAL INFORMATION!
AND THEY WILL NOT RE-INSTATE YOUR ACCOUNT!
WHY?
BECAUSE THEY LIKE TO RECEIVE FOUNDS FOR FREE! AND THEY DO NOT PAY YOU INTERESTED FOR 6 MONTHS! AND THEY WILL USER YOUR FOUNDS TO MAKE PROFIT!
THIS MISERABLES OF PAYPAL, THEY MUST REALLY DESPERATE TO USE THIS TRICKS !
ALSO
THEY ARE A NOT SMART “PEOPLE” BECAUSE
THEY ALREADY >>>LOST > MANY CLASS ACTIONS IN USA!
AND THEY PAI MILIONS POF DOLLARS FINES!
THEY ARE STILL USING THE SAME USA TRICKS, BUT FOR THE INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMERS!

There is no such thing as a good monopoly, it's really up to us to open accounts with moneybookers and alertpay and try to avoid paypal if possible. Paypal are also a racist company, the way they treat asians and africans is deplorable.

PayPal unethical service

PayPal have to be the most unethical corportate monstere on the net.
Along with Ebay their merchandising arm they absolutely walk over the smaller companies.

I started drop shipping and had 6 clients that paid via PP. The money was in the account, I sent the goods.
A day or two later the account was frozen and payment reversed to a scam artist that claimed false ID used on Ebay.
No checks were made by PP they just reversed the payment after I had the sent the goods.
I could get no expalnation from PP just Auto responders. I attempted to ring their Call center which is in New Deli.
The so called customer service rep was an absolute ### whe did not give any assistance except to tell me to fill in antoher online form.
In the meantime all the genuine customers had their monies frozen too so the ones that were still waiting could not get their goods.
PP then had the hide to tell me the account was negative balance over $600
If you deal with PayPal in any substantial amounts I would advise you to beware because the minute anything goes wrong with them they will act as THE MONEY GOBBLING CORPORATE MONSTERS THAT THEY ARE.

Firstly, paypal is linked to my bank account so why would they ever need to force collections when they could just take the funds at any time? secondly, my account is fully functional and does not need to be reinstated. thirdly my paypal account is in pristine standing and has always been so. I went through a thorough credit history check back in october 2010 in order to get my security clearance with the navy. there were no entries regarding paypal listed at that time.in fact, there wasn't much of anything listed period! this letter from er solutions, inc. also includes three (3) different addresses shown above. it is complete garbage that this company is contacting me and attempting to collect on a "fake" debt in an effort to phish my paypal account.
I filed a complaint with the ftc.

PayPal ethics

i began using ebay back in 1998, before they offered stock options. you could say, because of the amount of auctions i had (100's), i was someone who helped ebay grow. back then, it was truly the best place to sell things online, and get real market value for what you had. unfortunately today, ebay is not what it was back then. it's filled with fraud on both sides; the sellers and the buyers. you know what they say; screw me once shame on you. screw me twice shame on me. screw me three times and i'm an idiot. well, i was screwed more than 3 times and decided i would never use ebay again. the biggest reason for that is, their use and endorsement of paypal. as a seller, i was burned a couple of times by using paypal; lost what i sold and the money. as a buyer, i had no recourse for refunds for misrepresented items...that was back in 2004 and i never went back. i refuse to have anything to do with them, paypal or ebay, because they didnt care about their sellers misrepresenting themselves and they didnt care about the buyers who got ripped off. and its kind of sad really, because ebay is so popular and i have so many things i could be selling. i've not been to ebay in years but i hear horror stories all the time about people being ripped off by paypal, and ebay stays out of it. i wonder how many people are aware, that paypal is not a bank. i never liked the idea that a company, thats not a bank, was handling my money. back when i first started on ebay, every single auction i had, was postal money order only. not many complained. from what i hear today, you can't request that anymore in your descriptions (maybe i'm wrong on that?) but what i do see is, there seems to be a growing number of people who are finally beginning to see, that simply sitting in your chairs and clicking your payments away, or accepting immediate payments with paypay, is not always the best way to handle the sale. i wish, i wish people would "stop" using paypal and put them out of business. complaints do not seem to be doing anything to stop what they do. didn't ebay buy paypal a few years ago? that might be why ebay and paypal seemed to be so supportive of each other and do nothing to stop what they do. is there any other auction site out there today, that takes what ebay used to be, and brings it today, without all the fraud involved? i'd really like to know, because i am a true fan of the $1 auctions, even on $100 items...ebay was a great place back when it first began. but today, it's out grown it's welcome. would someone please create a site that represents what ebay used to be, for the individuals and not the businesses? i've not seen one yet that has the same popularity that ebay had. i'd really like to see them go out of business. they took a good thing, and their greed ruined it.

well, it's unfortunate that the few who did take advantage of both my selling and my buying, and nothing was done by either paypal or ebay to rectify the problems, in fact they only encouraged them, that i will never use either of them (paypal or ebay) again. and by the looks of the complaints, i am not the only one who feels this way...a postal money order can be easily verified at the post office, and if it is found to be fraud, i am sure the postal inspectors will be more forceful than ebay or paypal. other money orders can be verified at the bank. and i never mailed the item until i knew the funds were there...you can endorse them all you want, it wont change how i feel about them...or what i have to say.

Don't forget about the woman who had her antique pre-WW2 violin destroyed by the buyer at PayPals request. She's now down one antique violin and the buyer got to destroy an antique for free (Paypal told him they'd only refund his money if he destroyed the item).
http://www.geek.com/articles/news/paypal-orders-destruction-of-antique-violin-by-buyer-2012014/

Lets also add in there the story where PayPal denied 200 kids charity christmas presents while making a ton of money itself. Looks like it was christmas for Paypal and Paypal alone in that story.
http://www.geek.com/articles/geek-cetera/paypal-ruins-christmas-for-over-200-kids-2011126/

I had too many problems with Paypal and simply shut down my account. I now use local websites, you drive to pick up the item since its local, you can look at it before you buy it and payment is usually delivered in cash.

Ebay is still the most popular auction site and they do own Paypal. Paypal is great for buyers as they do not charge a fee and you can use your credit card. It also protects buyers from being ripped off by those few unscrupulous sellers.
For sellers, Paypal allows you to accept guaranteed payments through them. They charge sellers a small fee but they are a business. It protects sellers from those few unscrupulous buyers who use fake money orders, fake checks and fake credit cards. If you don't want to use Paypal, you can accept money orders if you want to. Just say you accept other forms of payment in your auctions. Postal money orders can be faked so be careful if you decide to accept them. Ebay and Paypal are good sites. It's the few bad buyers and sellers that you have to watch out for. Check their feedback carefully first before buying or selling with anyone. Good luck!

PayPal unfair treatment / funds taken no service provided

Hi
My name is Emma Nicholls and I live in Australia.
I purchase a bag off eBay which was stated to be authentic. When I received the bag i still thought it was until someone suggested I look online and they thought it wad not a genuine Louis Vuitton. After investigating I decided to put a claim through paypal as there were items both on the bag and what it came with that gave me doubts.
Paypal accepted the claim and told me to go further I would require a certificate stating that it is not authentic. After phoning Loyis Vuitton I was told no companies supplied these. I phone paypal back and notified them of my findings when they suggested I use My Poupette as they deal with paypal regularly.
I jumped straight onto the site, paid my $125 for a certificate and sent all the necessary information and photos through.
After a couple of days I had still not heard anything besides them noticing that they had received payment.
Over the next 3 weeks I sent 5 emails and have still not had a single response from this company. I phoned paypal every couple of days updating them on the situation. They kindly extended my deadline by a couple of days in the hope I would receive the certificate.
Paypal have now closed my claim and were not willing to give me an alternate option besides the certificate.
The bag was $780 and now with the certificate costings I am now out of pocket over $900 and this has caused me extreme stress and worry over the matter.

I am not sure of my options and would grately appreciate some assistance as I would like this to be resolved and hopefully be able to get my money back.

I feel I have been unfairly treated by paypal and since making some personal investigations have come across others who have had issues with this same website. It is unjust that paypal be suggesting this site to people as it gave me the hope of paying $125 would have my claim settled and it would get my money back.

I am considering going to the Australian police on this matter also as the seller stated the item and authentic when it is in fact not.
I have since purchased an authentic Louis Vuitton from one of their retail stores and when purchasing you do not receive any authenticity documents. Especially not the plastic cards I was sent with the fake.

Please email me and notify of my options.

Kind regards,

Emma Nicholls

PayPal I was accused of fraud and paypal limited my account

I now have about $3, 600 in my Paypal account. I was selling on ebay and everyone was happy, I never received a single negative feedback.

But when my balance reached $2, 000 PayPal limited my account and told me I had to go to the resolution center, and that they need some information from me. So I submitted all the information they had asked for, and when I tried to login the next day my account said

“you have been permanently limited and you will be able to withdraw your remaining funds in 180 days”.

By then my balance had reached the $3, 600. PayPal has obviously just ripped me off. I can only guess that it was because of someone bought an item from me, then filed a fraudulent dispute in order to get their money back. I bought the item from Sears, and even have the receipt!

PayPal is siding with buyers even if they are scammers. Don’t ever use PayPal, they will rip off and don’t even care! They are refusing to remove the limit no matter what evidence I provide.

I even received and email saying that my account is back to normal after being reviewed. so i logged in after about 3 hours, but the limit was still there! When I called them then they told me to redo the appeal, which i did, and still my account is limited!

PayPal ebay not recognizing paypal account

I have been using the same PayPal account on ebay for several years now. Here recently my ebay account has been telling me that it does not recognize any of my Paypal login information, I am being told that it is not valid.

So I set up a new PayPal account only to find that I cannot use my credit card on it, due to it being linked to my old account which is not working properly.

Even when I reset my password on my old account, the emails never come through to the address at which it is registered.

I am therefore unable to use Paypal to make Internet transactions, which is also resulting in my ebay account being suspended.

PayPal buyer chargeback after swapping parts and returning item

A customer purchased a satellite receiver, only to return it three weeks after buying it. The security seal on the receiver was broken, and the electronic card reader was swapped with a different one. The buyer then starts a PayPal dispute claiming that “the item was not as described”. PayPal has completely ignored our written and photographic evidence and refund him for the receiver anyway.

We complained to PayPal about the matter only to receive a patronizing, standard email that does not address a single point that we raised.

PayPal sided with dishonest buyer

I auctioned off an item on Ebay with totally honest & accurate description of said item. Buyer bid and won the item. A couple of days after the auction ended and the payment, through Paypal, was made, the buyer got buyers remorse. But instead of communicating with me about it, he started saying that he didn't believe the item I sold him was as I stated. Paypal claimed I didn't resolve the problem with them within 10 days so they sided with the buyer and demanded I return the money. They couldn't freeze the funds due to the fact that as soon as the buyer started making false complaints, I pulled the funds from my acoount. Paypals motto is freeze funds first, ask questions later.
Paypal refunded the money to the buyer, who also still has the item I sold him, and wants me to refund them.
These people are out of line!

PayPal scam scam scam

Ordered the novel network because they advertise ebooks new releases and best sellers for free with a one time $49.95 fee. The new release that are free are public domain and were new releases from 100 years ago! Oh yeah magazines, newspapers they boast it all! What they deliver is disappointment. All they do for 50 bucks is redirect to websites that you can buy ebooks from. Plimus is how the charge showed up on my pay-pal account. I then started researching plimus and found that they are supposed to be an online secure funds transfer company similar to pay-pal. That in itself is very confusing. If they supposedly do the same thing as pay-pal why do they use pay-pal?
Here is a link to a true thread about the novel network.

PayPal this website, although useful for people venting about their frustrations with paypal, has to be a scam site that targets these vulnerable people

This website, although useful for people venting about their frustrations with PayPal, has to be a scam site that targets these vulnerable people. I was dissatisfied with PayPal to and started searching for a new merchant account to handle my credit card trans and found this site. The more and more I think about it, it's set up by this company called National Merchant Bancard. They probably have about 20 different sites that all list the same content. I've read scam stories about this co too! The terms of service and contract or full listings of rates are not fully disclosed, they just want you to sign up. Funnel your hatred and sign up with us and don't think twice? I didn't so I don't know for sure but common sense will say that this co is far from professional and what I would want from a Merchant working with me.
