Do Not install Pareto Logic File Cure's trial on Windows 7 - if you decide that you do not wish to pay for the license and uninstall it will leave garbage in your "Send-To" file explorer menu and your registry - only a manual registry clean-up will fix this.

I thought this would be an ideal program to assist in curing files that didn't have the necessary extensions. Prior to installing, I kept getting a .dll extension error and thought, once and for all I would be able to correct the problem. I even had my work Tech tell me to uninstall my Microsoft Office and reinstall (using up #3 of 5 licenses) as this was a newer computer I had the Microsoft on. Well... after doing that, it still didn't solve my .dll issues. In comes Paretologic File Cure. Happy to finally get rid of the nuisance, .dll, I purchased File Cure on a 30 day money back guarantee. I got it all installed, and immediately put in the .dll extension, to which it offered up several suggestions... most of which were "buy me" to fix it. I tried the "free" one, and it couldn't repair it. So, I'm still left with putting up with the .dll issue or buy yet another program. Wanting to take advantage of the trial (mind you I had paid my $30 via PayPal), so I ran a total scan to find issues. It found 5 files that needed a "cure". Well, well... the "free" choices couldn't help and/or when you clicked on them they were not found. Bottom line... why have File Cure scan and find a problem that I've never noticed (except the .dll) and NOT have File Cure be able to fix itz? Then, as of this moment, I've been on hold to customer service 30 minutes waiting for an attendant for a refund. It's this customer service or lack of, that says NO way! Now I read other complaints that say that the darn thing can't be completely removed from the registry. MY REGRET? WHY I DIDN'T RESEARCH THIS OUT, ESPECIALLY THE COMPLAINT ABOVE MINE...Etrigan! DON'T BE SUCKED IN! I'm not computer savy...know just enough to be dangerous actually. So when I rely on what is believed to be good info...I find it's bogus and another money grabber outfit. Oh, if you do trust this site...realize in small print, you are placed on AUTO pay when your renewal comes up! Call me a sucker... but I demand better from people who claim what Paretologic does. Don't Pare To Them ...stay away! P.S. On the phone 40 minutes now waiting for a representative.

If you are having problems uninstalling a program try Revo Uninstaller a free app that uninstalls down to the registry level.

I downloaded ParetoLogic FileCure as it promised to be able to open an old unsupported document file. It would only do this if I registered and paid he $30 fee! It then proceeded to "find" all sorts or spurious problems with my registry demanding payment to "fix" them.
The programme does not offer a uninstall option so this has to be done with the Windows software uninstall utility. It seems like nothing more than a scam to me.
Who knows what traces it has left in my registry! BEWARE!

While attempting to download an ebook from my local library. When I clicked on the download and started the download the Windows security informed me that a site wanted to access my computer and not paying the attention that I should have, I agreed and was directed tor Paretologic File Cure and at the end or the scan I realized the mistake and canceled. I unstalled the program from my computer. However, now when I attempt to download a book from the library, when I click the download icon, paretologicfilecule always wants to access my computer and when I cancel nothing happens, no download.
I have scanned with Malware and others, nothing found. Checked reg, nothing there nor in processess.
Any suggestions?

Fellow Victims of Filecure:

My next step is to complain to C-Net and let them know I will NEVER download another thing from them again. I've used the site since it was download.com... it went downhill since C-Net and now is so totally [censored]d out for revenue that it advertises free software, when it is clearly not.

The only thing free is the download, but viruses are also free downloads and this is a close second in harm to your computing sanctity down from a virus. It does a scan and tells you there are problems (though all are not) and tells you to register before it will do anything.

Please never buy anything from Paretologic or C-Net. Hopefully, both of these rip off businesses will go away. Also, The so called Better Business Bureau is simply a subscription service that defends businesses that pay them. It does not mean a business is good at all. As a business owner, I used to pay off the BBB, but have stopped, as enough people realize they are a big scam.

Here's what happened when I uninstalled FileCure.

What happened when uninstalling FileCure. (got the same thing with Revo Uninstaller and Windows Add Remove)

Clicked on File Cure in Revo to uninstall. Immediately after confirming that I want to delete the program a box popped up.
"Are you sure you want to Uninstall FileCure? Uninstall, Get It Free, Cancel"

My curiousity led me to choose Get It Free. Why was I not surprised to see the page telling me "Get it free with TrialPay!
Try or buy one offer from your preferred brands and get your favorite products—free. TrialPay uses money from the advertiser to pay for your product. It's that easy."

Yes folks, in order to get it free you have to enter your name and email address, then choose something to purchase. I did not get past the first screen, I did not submit my name and email address. Some of those offers would likely cost more than program itself.

For errors: ParetoLogic has other programs. One of those programs made it's way on to my last system. After I uninstalled it I got an error message every time I got to my desktop. Error loading C:/ Program File/ Common Files/ Paretologic/UUS2/UUS.dll

I did some searching and found out how to kill that message. Since FileCure is a different product, this may not apply but worth a look see.

Go to Control Panel.
Open up Scheduled Tasks.
If you see an entry for ParetoLogic Registration
delete it. The scheduled task entry is not deleted when the program in uninstalled.
To delete, right click on the entry, then choose Delete.

I also made the mistake of downloading and installing File Cure. However, I was too cheap to pay for something that was promoted to be "free". I have a XP system and uninstalled the program via Control Panel/AddorRemove. Everytime I boot up the pc, I get an error message stating that I need to re-install File Cure.

I uninstalled nearly a month ago and am still getting a FileCure error message everytime I turn on my computer. Have done a complete search of my computer for anything vaguely related to filecure, file cure, cure, pareto, pareto logic, paretologic, etc...nothing.

But every single day, the error message is there.

I've emailed your helpdesk (no response). How do I make it go away?

you didn't read what I wrote -- I have already uninstalled--and did it as you outlined here. But I am still getting an error message every day. Your product is the worst product--shouldn't even be offered for download for free and let alone have to pay for it . A friend of mine downloaded File Cure last night and did not get her license key. She paid $30 and I wish she would have talked to me first. Of course when she finally got it, it didn't even do what she needed it to do. She has uninstalled it. Are you willing to reimburse her since she had it less than 24 hours?

I bought "driver cure" over six months ago -- what a mistake! I fell into one of those tests and I had all these out of date drivers (obviously, which at the time I was having a lot of problems). When I started following the links for drivers that were out of date, I really ran into problem. Thankfully I was smart enough to start with ones that I knew what they were and didn't get into system drivers and stuff like that. Anyway, I went to Add/Remove programs uninstalled, then Programs and removed the file folder -- but I am still getting an error everyday that the Paretologic program can't start up---well duh! FYI --MY NEW RULE -- since then I NEVER download ANYTHING before reading REVIEWS! Go to Google -- type what you're looking for and "review" after it -- you will get pages to read to make an educated decision!
**If anyone knows how I can get rid of my error PLEASE let me know!

If only if it were that easy. I click to remove file cure, and get a prompt:"do you want to allow this program to be installed to your hard drive? Click no, you get another po that 'this page cannot open p-up that appears to be an IE box stating that this page cannot be opened...then suggests that you are not conncted to the internet! If not, how could I receiv.e an IE pop-up? To make matters worse, the pop-up box cannot be closed. Back to the begiining: Frozen computer. What kind of people get their kicks this way? ok, i take it back i found out how to delete it. i simply went to c:/program files/paretologic/file cure... click on the folder for file cure. There should be several files below and at least 3 or 4 consisting of paretologic or file cure info. One should simply be named uninstall file cure or paretologic, simply click on that and it should prompt you to see if you are sure that you want to uninstall it and prayerfully everything will be removed. I just did it and it appears that everything has worked. I've looked in my start up menu and in my all programs section in my c:/drive and do not see it. I will really know when I turn my computer back off and on. But I honestly believe it worked.

I find it interesting that the person from Paretologic company can respond and say that it's a company in good standing, but will not respond on how to remove it. What's up with that. Because I have the thing on my computer somehow and I'm the only one to use it, so I am lost as to how it got there. I don't know, but I do know that I want it off my computer as well. Because my computer has been suddenly moving slower. But you all can try to go to google and put remove paretologic or remove file cure and see what comes up. That's what I'm about to do right now!

WARNING! DO NOT use the Pareto Logic "File Cure" program!

Here's what happens when you don't PAY like they so persistently suggest. Over and Over.
It all started after I purchased an Internet TV program called PCSHOWBuzz. THAT was my 1st MISTAKE!

I didn't pay for their "Recommended" download and I suddenly got a number prompts saying "There has been an attempt to expose my credit card information over the internet" and I got one after another, each related to this spyware causing offer! Trojan horses, virus alerts, the whole nine yards. I had McAvee and reinstalled Avast to eventually eliminated all the attacks.
It took me hours to delete this embedded trojan out of my Vista and IE.
This has been a nightnmare and I don't see anyone else's review saying this so I guess they have all been suppressed by this bogus system "Cure"!
