Bad merchandise
Beware if ordering from Overstock.com. They took 6 weeks to deliver the merchandise, then substituted a cheaper item. Because it took 6 weeks to arrive, the price guarantee Overstock.com offers did not apply. After 30 minutes dealing with the on-line rep, he informed me that all the company would do is offer a $15 credit towards my next order. The $15 doesn't even cover the price difference between what I paid for and what I was sent, let alone the aggravation. Nor would they offer to pay for the return of the items that were sent that weren't what I ordered. A $15 credit! Like I would ever shop there again.

Return/refund policy
I am writing to warn those to beware that if you purchase something from Overstock and its defective you will not be allowed to return it for a full refund. I purchased a full-size mattress, a king size mattress, and a leather sectional sofa that all came defective. The total of my purchase was around $3, 000. I was not able to inspect the items upon delivery because I was not home. Someone did the favor for me and stayed home to sign. When I was able to inspect I found that the mattresses were of poor quality and had horrible stitching and mattress was very hard. The leather sofa had a damage where the leather was scuffed off in one area. I contacted Overstock immediately and they told me to send pictures, which I did. Then I was told that I could not get refunded because their policy didn't allow it since I had already signed for the items. Well its been a month of e-mails going back and forth between me and their customer service and I still have not gotten any resolution. Beware of their return policy and shop elsewhere where their return policies let you actually return items.

Don't get trapped by the low prices. Their product quality sucks. I would rather spend more money on quality products than sending money to those cheap sellers.

Shipping restrictions
I am a DoD employee who is about to deploy to Afghanistan. I have been told that the mattresses in Afghanistan are old and will not be replaced because of fiscal constraints and our planned draw down. I went on Overstock.com to try to order a mattress pad to solve the problem. I will be working 13.5 hours daily on a normal day, and will work every day for my 6 month deployment. I spent lots of time researching the products and found exactly what I wanted. I then filled out the order form only to get an error, explaining that that item could not be shipped to my address. I went on to the APO (military addresses overseas) restrictions and there was nothing about mattress pads but there was restrictions on size of items. I asked for the dimensions of the package. The bright spark on the chat gave me dimensions of the mattress pad that were clearly stated on the web page, not the undisclosed shipping package dimensions. Once I had the shipping dimensions it was explained that Oversize.com doesn't ship this item to APO addresses. Why is a company like this allowed to discriminate against those who are willing to sacrifice for our nation? This is the 3rd time I have personally volunteered for this type of assignment and quite honestly companies like this make me second guess if my nation is worth fighting for, because Americans have become so self centered they really don't appreciate that there are thousands of people out there who put their life in danger, work long hours, away from home, in less than comfortable conditions, so that they can stay one with their families and enjoy the knowledge that there is someone else worrying about protecting them.

Be wary of their lies
I've never been more disappointed with a company ever. Long story short, I requested a price match on their OWN website. The product was listed at two different prices one Canadian and one American. That's fine. However, the difference was significant given the current currency rates. That being said, I contacted customer service who said that they would cover the difference once the order was placed. Got the invoice and it was the original price. I had spoken to two customer service representatives during the transaction and they both said there would be no problem (I kept a copy of the entire conversation and a copy of both the prices as proof.) Just spoke with customer service again for well over an hour to get it through to them. They refused to give me the difference in the cost of the product. I told them that they should honour what two of their own employees said they would do for me. In the end, the little guy gets burned again. All they kept saying was "sorry for the confusion". There was no confusion. Basically Overstock failed in their ability to follow through with what they said they were going to do. It's really a shame that they can get away with things like this. Is there no honour with companies anymore. Simply take the customers money and be done with them. Customer service merely pays lip service. I will ensure this gets posted everywhere I can possibly post it. Be wary of their lies.

Shipping
I ordered an 8' x 10' area rug from Overstock on 11/19/2012. I received shipping conformation on Thue 21st. When I noticed on Thue 26Thu Thuat noThuing seemed to be happening I called Fed Ex who stated Thuey never had possession of the rug. I called Overstock and explained Thuat I no longer wanted Thue item unless Thuey could use expedited shipping. I was assured Thuat I would receive expedited shipping or a refund. Turns out Thuat was just lip service to get me off Thue phone and Thuey shipped it later Thuat day FedEx ground. I will never shop Thuem again after my experience and reading how many oThuers had Thue same experience.

Delivery - where is my shipment?
Recently I ordered a light fixture from Overstock.com and paid for expedited shipping to insure getting it in 2 business days. When I called at the end of the 2nd business day I learned my order was shipped and attempted to be delivered to the incorrect address. Overstock's response appeared genuine at the time and guaranteed a replacement light fixture was being sent out overnight and guaranteed it would be delivered in 2 days. Guess what? did not happen either. They really dropped the ball on this one and it seems there is no one who is accountable for not following through with the promises.
I will not be ordering from Overstock in the future - ever!
Received damaged furniture
I purchased two (2) full size platform beds and two (2) full size Serta Memory Foam mattresses from Overstock.com. Both beds arrived with defects. A panel on the first bed and a side rail on the second bed was damaged and we can't use the center support rail for either bed because the holes don't match up with the slat system the support rail is suppose to be screwed to. The boxes that the two (2) damaged pieces were in were also damaged.
I talked to two (2) Customer Service Reps regarding the defective furniture and all I kept getting was "give us the UPS tracking numbers". I gave them the only UPS tracking numbers that I had received approximately four (4) times, but the numbers I gave them didn't seem to be the UPS tracking numbers they were looking for. At first they acted as if they wanted to be helpful. The next thing I know, we're stuck in this "endless loop" of "give us the UPS tracking numbers". BTW, the UPS tracking numbers I gave them are the UPS tracking numbers they sent to me via an email.
I won't buy from them again!

Stating procuct is "made in usa" when it's made in china
Recently I saw merchandise at the following on Overstock.Com page shown below. The merchandise ( first 6 items on this page ) stated they were Made in USA and they even have a large Red, White and Blue Made in USA Flag on the product pages. They are actually Made in China. There are internet shoppers that search strictly for Made in USA merchandise now to cater to American companies and workers. They also state that they ship these items from their warehouse and they are actually drop shipped from the distributor. Overstock needs to be honest with their advertising.

Got the run around re: defective merchandise not returnable
I purchased an expensive Simmons bed from Overstock.com, within a few months a bad sag started happening. Well, not being too pro-active I contacted Overstock 8 months later, they sent me to Simmons, Simmons had me fill out this huge form, including bill of sale, etc. and sent me a letter two weeks later that I had to 'contact the retailer.' I contacted Overstock and they said they had to contact the 'warehouse' who had to contact Simmons to say I got the mattress from them in order to proceed under warranty. I filed a warranty complaint with Simmons and they assigned it to a mattress tech. The mattress tech came three weeks later spent 1.5 hours examining and measuring the 1.5 inch divot in the mattress, took apart the box spring and noticed two bent wires. He said bent wires usually happen at the 'warehouse' or in delivery. Two weeks later a letter from Simmons voiding the 10 year warranty due to defective boxspring wires I contacted Overstock about receiving DEFECTIVE MERCHANDISE and they said I only had 30 days to bring that to their attention. They offered to pay for a new boxspring but the warranty would still be void. 800 bucks for a defective bed. Hours on the phone with Simmons, Overstock, Mattress Tech, and I'm stuck. I get a small refund for my trouble but now I have to buy a new bed.
I will never every buy anything from Overstock.com again.

Purchase of item
I purchased a diamond set of earings $700. I received an empty parcel. The parcel had not been tampered with, it was sealed appropriately, there was just nothing inside. An empty carton. My invoice was attached to the outside. Upon contacting overstock several times- I have repeatedly been told they are investigating the issue. DO NOT BUY GOODS FROM THIS COMPANY. SCAM! BEWARE OF ALL ON-LINE PURCHASES.

One of the worst online shopping experiences i've ever had
I placed an order on the morning of Friday 12/16. I followed up on my order on Tuesday 12/20 because the status online said “PROCESSING”. I was told by a customer service rep that it would be shipped the next day and I would receive my order no later than 12/23 (it was being shipped from a warehouse less than 100 miles from my home). I checked the status again today, 12/22 and the status had not changed. I called and reached another customer service rep. She said that she would contact the warehouse and call me back 20 minutes later.
I called the customer service number an hour later and reached another service rep. I asked for the previous service rep that promised to call me back. . . . . .there were no notes on the account and the customer service rep said she had never heard of the person I had spoke to earlier. This service rep told me there was nothing we could do.
I called the service department once again, one hour later, to work toward resolution. I was able to connect with the original customer service rep that I was waiting to hear from and she informed me that it was a hand made item that was made to order and that they were not in the warehouse due to their custom nature. . . . that “my” product was going to be made for “me”, therefore it would not be shipped for 10 days. She did do something nice and offer me $10 of instore credit. She said if I decided to cancel the order I could call her back. I agreed and hung up reluctantly.
I shopped for five minutes and found the same product on Amazon.com with an option for 2 day shipping. I called the customer service number once again, reached a different customer service rep who informed me that cancelling my order was not an option because the order had gone through to the warehouse. . . . . wait a second. . . I thought it had not even been made yet. . . . . I asked to be connected to the original rep and did not care how long I had to hold.
Ten minutes later I was connected to the original customer service rep who back tracked and said that they magically had found it in the warehouse (yeah the custom made thing was bs) and they would ship it as soon as possible but she would remove my instore credit that she had so graciously given me “for all the trouble”. Regardless of whether this magical shipping works or not, never using these guys again. One of the worst online shopping experiences I’ve ever had. Amazon.com all the way folks.

Defective furniture
Buyer beware of buying furniture (oversize items) from Overstock.com! I recommend that you never buy any furniture that you cannot return locally. When I first received the dining set, the table had large spots from a poor varnishing job. The company first tried to offer me some paint or extra varnish so I could try to cover it up. No amount of varnish would have fixed the obvious flaws. Overstock than agreed to ship me another table. Unfortunately after just 6 months, the table's veneer sides started peeling off. By just brushing against it, the veneer started breaking off leaving splinters in my arm and my leg. The rep said there was no way to tell if it was a manufacturing defect or regular wear and tear. There are only 2 people in my household and a new table should not start falling apart after just 6 months. They said they would ship me another table if I paid another $400 but they would take $100 off. Instead of taking the risk again, I opted for the $100 refund. I paid $800 for the dining set originally. Also, I do believe the company prevents bad reviews from being posted on their website, furthering misleading the consumer.

Bait and switch
I wanted to buy a Cuisinart stainless steel cookware set from Overstock.com . There was a price of $ 249 with a red slash through it for the 17piece set. The ad said you had to put the item in your ‘cart’, then go to checkout to find out the sale price. I was outraged. (You should not have to go to checkout to find a ‘sale’ price or any price of an item.) I did go to the checkout location, just to see what they were up to…the price listed there was $249. I contacted their chat line (customer service). I said the posted indication of a ‘sale’ price listed in the ad was duplicitous. There was a kind of, ”Oops, Sorry’, from Overstock …Guess what? The sale was over. No mention of the sale being over in their ad.They said they would correct the error.
The same day, a few minutes later, I returned to Overstock.com to look at another Cuisinart stainless cookware set (this time I think it was the 10, 11 or 15 piece set…I am sorry I was so angry I don’t quite remember). Low and behold the price was crossed out with a red slash. The item was supposedly on sale. You were told, yet again, to go to checkout to find out this ‘phantom price’. Again at checkout the price indicated was not a sale price but the full price which had had the red slash through it. I guess the sale was over, but the customer cannot find that out until he, or she, goes to checkout. Can a company advertise an item, without the correct price..suggesting a sale…when a sale is over? Can they refuse to put a price on an item they offer for to the customer…the sale price of which will only be given at checkout?. Aren’t companies required to change a sale price as soon as an item is no longer for sale?I think this is customer fraud. I do not think that ‘bait and switch is legal’.
If you advertise a sale price and don’t update to the actual price…in my state (NJ) you have to give the customer the item at the sale price or give the customer a ‘rain check’ to get the item, at the sale price, at some later date. In my state you cannot hold the price of an item ‘hostage”. Imagine going into a clothing shop for an advertised sale. Imagine going to the sale rack and all of the prices have been crossed out. The instructions say to see the sales clerk at the register to obtain the ‘sale’ price. You go the register only to find out, even though the prices on the clothes indicate a sale, there is actually no sale.
I do not think this is an isolated practice for Overstock. It is hard to believe that two items have the same ‘bait and switch’ problem at the same time. What are the odds?
Please look to this. The customer is really ending up on the wrong end of the stick here. I know you want only quality and fairness on Google. I hope you will give your prompt attention to this matter.

While this behavior is probably not legal, it is not "bait and switch". Learn the terminology before you start ripping a company. They deserve a complaint but you must make sure it is the right complaint.
Internet scammers
Do not buy from these crooks. I foolishly placed an order with these people. They sent me a completely different item from what I ordered. The item that they sent costs less than half of what I paid them for the correct item. I spoke to two very unhelpful people in their customer service department. They both refused to issue a return for the item. They are refusing to return my money too. Now I will have to fight them through my credit card company for their fraudulent business practices. Stay away from these crooks."

held funds for order cancelled
I cancelled an order on a rug that I placed immediately after I had placed the order. When I received the confirmation that the order had been cancelled, I thought nothing of it until I realized that they drafted the money out of my account anyways. No problem. I understand. What I don't understand is why it's been a week and they still have not returned my money. I have called their customer support and every time I get the runaround..."oh let me make a note of it... I will have to get our support team to contact you back at such-and-such time... Lies, lies, lies. I still haven't gotten a refund and when I called my cc company, they were told by overstock that the transaction is pending? This is rediculous. I am a graduate with a degree in finance and let me tell you that these businesses do this purpously so that they can earn interest (I. E. Free money) off of you for as long as they can get away with it. I will never shop on overstock.com. Their discounts aren't any better than other places on the internet. I am reporting this place to the bbb if I don't see my funds within the next 24 hours.

I've never had an order from overstock that was not entirely screwed up
I've never had an order from Overstock that was not entirely screwed up. First I ordered a leather upholstered king-sized bed. It took 2.5 months to arrive; I was expecting about 5 weeks based on the website. it had a nick in the corner, and i was told I would have to pay freight to return it, then they would credit my account up to $25 (my estimates were $125 shipping, a $100 loss for me.)
I ordered three rugs. four weeks later I was told one was out of stock. the other two arrived, but were the wrong color. The CS rep initially tried to tell me this is what I ordered, then told me maybe I was color blind. ultimately they arranged to pick up the wrong rug and had the new one to me quickly. I appreciated that part, but the mix-up was just a hassle. funny to me was the CS who initially asked me to "pack it up and take it to the nearest UPS." I was like...the rug is bigger than me. I also laughed at the image of me driving my sports car with the top down and a big-### rug sticking over the top of the passenger seat.
i've ordered other items here and there...often without issue. But too often descriptions are wrong and I've had to return an item. I once ordered a Bombay style chest with a marble top. The chest arrived. No marble. Cute as hell though. Not worth the price. I was told to ship it back and I would be reimbursed. I told the CS rep...I'd just keep it and save the hassle...and never order there again.
and...I never will. DONE.

Hidden negative reviews about poor quality merchandise
A few weeks ago I purchased a Mason Kay 14k Yellow Gold Black Jadeite 'Endless Knot' Necklace for $113. The chain was so weak that it broke within the first 2 weeks I had it. I contacted Customer Service and asked for a refund since I was within the warranty period. The chain is too flimsy for the pendant and it will always break, so repair would only be a short term solution. I was told that they would only gove me a refund IF the chain is irrepairable. I then posted a negative review 3 times to warn others about this necklace. My review was never posted at all. I no longer trust them, as I wonder how may other reviews they have hidden from the public just so they can make a sale. Hiding information from the Public is dishonest!

Overstock doesn't honor there warranty. I have spoken with different people who say they are in charge, l get the same result, nothing ... They sell damage furniture not overstock. I purchased a California King mattress set and the mattress clasped in the first 6 months. I ordered a table that arrived with mismatch chair. I've ask to have all this corrected and they want honor their warranty. It's time for court. Don't buy from overstock, they are scammers.
Rude, sarcastic customer service
I ordered a mattress at overstock. com. I called them to check on the delivery. The lady on the phone said sarcastically that she couldn't understand a word of what I was saying (Except the word mattress!). Yes I have an accent but usually people understand me very well. After repeating all the information needed, she then told me that she couldn't answer my question because the order was under my husband's name. I find it very disturbing that I was told by " a customer care representative" that my english is not understandable...
I will never order from overstock again!
