I, as many others purchased gold from oofay.com in good belief that they would deliver what they promised.
They use this 5-10 minute delivery time, if they cant deliver withing 48 hours your expected to get a refund, right?

It's not like that, what happens is this:
1. You buy the gold
2. They call you up for phone verification
3. No gold is delivered

If your like many others, you have tried reaching them through live-help, and mail which is pointless since they never really answer unless your question is to buy something from them(which they really cant provide anyway).

After alot of frustration i basicly said to myself, as you've probably did as well: "no way am i gonna let some koreans steal my money, i gotta get it back!".

Ok, what you do is this:
1. Log in to your paypal account
Click on the "Resolution center" link, on the next page click on "Report a problem" -> "Item Dispute", fill in the transaction ID.

If you cant find it, use the Select transaction ID button to locate the recent transactions.
Click continue.

Next page: "Reason for opening dispute: I have not received anything from the seller."
Click continue.

"What is the category of your purchase: Virtual goods, delivered electronically".

"Compose Message to Seller: Tell the whole story here, in my case i had quite a story to tell on how many times i've tried to come in contact with them, how crappy their so called live-help actually is, and how this whole company seemed very suspicous, and i also pointed out that i had done some background checking after the 48 hours had passed, and discovered i was by far not alone at all in being scammed by this company.
When you are done telling your story, and the problem, which of course being you paying for something they did not deliver."

By opening a dispute you will get their attention, you will probably even receieve a phone-call from a hidden number, of them telling you to log in right now to receive the gold, and they will also tell you to close the dispute.

Do not close any disputes until the gold is delivered, or a refund has been given.

Here's what happened next:
"They never logged on. They told me to log in, and wait there for a little while, then i told them to just use the mailbox, however they insisted on meeting me face to face in-game (both weird and suspicious, no real business would want to waste an hour doing nothing, when they could use a mailbox, and have it done within a matter of seconds).

I kept pushing them to hurry up, and this is when we lost contact.

Beware, they will give you some bogus story of why they havent been able to deliver, and they will most likely insist on meeting your character in-game, this is good, because this you can use againts them, as i mentioned above: "no real business wastes an hour doing nothing, when it could be done in a matter of seconds".

You will receieve a notification in your mail (your regular mail), everytime they post a response, keep pushing them, always answer, really important as paypal is monitoring every word being written.

Its better to write alot than too little in your dispute, and never under any circumstances shall you close the dispute before you have what is rightfully yours.

I eventually wrote a semi-long ending story, telling from scratch was has happened since i first purchased gold from them online, pointing how the exact "where & when".

And also i ended the dispute with these words exactly:

"I have as of now, waited online for another hour, and still no contact has been made. I do believe this to be a scamming company, or not a company at all. I did a little background check, and i found out that several other people have also been scammed by Oofay.com. I lost contact with them one hour ago, and im sure that i wont get what i paid for, it all seems very suspicious, and by doing my background check i found out that i am not the only one to have been scammed by this "company".".

Seconds after completing this last dispute, i chose to escalate the dispute to a claim, where paypal reviews what has been written, and what has been the progress of this.

Of course, being the scamming company, Oofay.com as i expected, quickly refunded the money, as they didnt want anyone investigating, and putting an end to their business.

Note: " Be sure to check your email often after opening the dispute, and do everything they tell you to do, if not they could use it againts you".


I hope you get your money back, just as i did, dont just throw money at these scammers, stand up.

This puts an end to this "How to get your money back from Oofay.com using paypal".

i had the same problem and when i opened the dispute 5 minutes after they called me and gave me the gold in game.The trick is to open the dispute if you don t you lose your money.when the dispute is opened they will try to give you the gold if they have this moment if they don t have and can t collect it the next days they will refund your money because as Eirik wrote "Of course, being the scamming company, Oofay.com as i expected, quickly refunded the money, as they didnt want anyone investigating, and putting an end to their business."the sad thing in this story is that many people is losing their money because they don t know what to do to get their money back or what they ordered and oofay count on this winning alot of money and providing nothing

I tried to resolve the issue with Oofay directly with the seller. They kept promising they would refund my money and NEVER did, NEVER returned my calles, NEVER replied to my emails. After I put a complain with paypal they kept calling me and emailing me asking me to cancel my claim with Paypal and then they would refund my money. THIS IS A LIE!! Do not cancel your claim. It is a trick. This company scams people and DO NOT uphold their promise. Do not use Oofay for anything. They will cheat you out of your money

I also had just had a dealing with oofay. After a whole day of hearing nothing about my gold I searched and found this. I opened a dispute on paypal, and wouldn't you know it, 5 mins later I had a reply telling me to get in game. They gave me 450 out of 1000 gold and told me they would have the rest soon. I waited another day, doing like you said and documenting everything that happened in the dispute comments. The next night I finally received my money from one of the actual farmers (a 70 hunter in janky gear of course), and I was reminded to close the dispute like 5 times by 2 different people.

Definitely open a dispute if you don't get your gold in a few hours or have 0 contact with them in that time period.

Also, I'd like to put in a shameless plug...after doing more research on LEGIT gold dealers, I hit the jackpot. AN AMERICAN DEALER WITH CHEAP PRICES! I found them on a message board specifically about online gold dealings, talking about oofay.com and how they scam. Then they started talking about this one website www.mmokings.com It's a company based in Iowa, and they DO NOT use chinese farmers or chinese accounts (blizzard watches for this sort of thing) and actually have helpful ENGLISH SPEAKING help on their live help. They also have a local Iowa number, so you know they're legit. Pretty good prices too ($21 for 1k gold). They also offer powerleveling (again, not through chinese). Check em out, they rock.

And another quick note...shortly after I recieved the rest of my gold, I was contacted by someone who claimed to own another online gold company, and he stated that they actually sell gold to some of the OTHER companies like...bum bum bum oofay.com AND ige.com (who are pretty much JUST like oofay, if not worse in the scamming department). He knew that I was waiting on my other 550 so he had to have some part in it..pretty odd, but I promptly told him I already found another service and ignored him.

Yea, unfortunatly I didnt read the reviews prior to ordering from these scammers.MMOGAP was taking theyre sweet time, so, I got on live help and asked for a refund, I had no problem getting a refund from these guys, very quick refund!So, I turned to OOFAY to provide me gold, according to theyre site, I should of recieved my gold between 5-23 minutes, I was like, hell yea!WRONG, after trying to contact them via telephone and live chat, I soon looked around to see if I was the only one who had been scammed, well, as it turns out, im not.I threatend them many times, they promised gold, nothing was ever recieved, so, I called paypal and got the ball rolling on getting a refund.Its pending at the moment, so, I hope I get my money back.Dont let this company fool you, these guys are con artists, scammers, thiefs, they will do whatever it takes to steal your money.If you must buy gold for wow, I used 2 different companys with good sucess, ige.com and wowspa.These guys were pretty good, kinda slow, but, delievered unlike ooofay, by the way, where the fuck they get a stupid fucking name like oofay?DO NOT BUY FROM OOFAY!!!

I didn't read anything about them before i ordered my 5000 G (WoW). Probably it would have scared me off, but then again...it is a "shady" transaction. I just bought off them because they were cheaper then other gold farmers.

I bought it through their site using paypal. Next thing i know i got a string mail authorizing them
that i bought the gold. This was after i completed the paypal transaction.
That made me feel weird. Since i bought it already, so why authorize.
But i had to reply so i did (with mention the payment details of Paypal, so i would get tricked in paying twice).

A second later i got a /w ingame which told me to pickup the phone. Which i did. Couldnt make out what
she was saying, but that was ok. Next thing i know i got instructions to do some thing so it didnt look shady and i got the 5000 G. Not a penny more, while some gold farmers offer 5%-20% bonus) . But that's fine. And delivery was within 30 minutes.

So i'm really not complaining about OOFAY.

PS. I only saw OOFAY in the payment details of Paypal. I used another website for it. Don't remember the name.

I didn't do my searching up on WWW.Oofay.com yet i purchase 20 gold for £19.64 for LOTRO and after waiting 3 days of consent "We will call you when we have the full amount of gold for you" "We are working on it" "Our Gold farmers are farming the gold for you now" i still have not receieved a refund or my 20 Gold, aswell as give me bogus storys on why they have not managed to get the gold to me etc...

their promise on their website to people
"Yesterday, 58200 Gold has been sent out on this server !"

"We will deliver your gold safely within 5 - 32 minutes on this server." (Server being Snowbourn.)"

"The showed stock and delivery speed above is evaluated automatically, which can achieve an accuracy as high as 98%"

I then opened up a depute on paypal with a hugh explaination on what had happened and what was said in live chats etc. aswell as mentioning i still have not recieved the goods they promised, and recieved a reply withing 5-10mins from the company stating to close the dispute so they can continue to farm the gold and trade the money with me

I still have not closed the case and waiting on they next reply will post more info when it comes

Hey sorry that you guys got scammed, it's happened to me before too...

In the future if you are checking for virtual currency prices to try to avoid getting scammed check out this site that I found:

It lists full sort of consumer reports like vendor reviews of all of the vendors, and has a pretty sweet price matching feature along with some graphs that way you can find the cheapest prices along with the best customer service. I've had great gold purchasing experiences since I started using it.

oh just an update form oofay.com they just gave me in £19.64 spoke to Eva and within 3-24 mins or so email from paypal notifing me of my refund

mind you i did mention i had been waiting 5 days then hay presto another promise see below for full convo, still discusting customer service and delivery of no product

Thank you for posting this i've had trouble getting on to them untill i did what you said SUDDENLY their staff magicly appear... if you havn't got anything from oofay and just cheakcing on them PLEASE don't even think about them anymore i'm never going to buy gold from anywhere ever again after whats happened its horrible i'm still fighting them now.. they want me to take it down but i'm not going to till i get my things!

Those people are not trust worthy.
PLEASE if you read this don't deal with those scams.
Up tell now for more than a month they didn't deliver my gold i used my waiting time to create my own and i manged to buy a mount which was the main reason to consider buying from them.
..and the online assistant is a crappy system they well always say wait for the call, wait for the call...and so on tell i start to dream about it.

I REPEAT DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY AND YOUR TIME ON THESE SCAMS!

Same thing happened to me. Wish i would of researched better before dropping alot of money on powerleveling. I've created a dispute and escalated to a claim the site "says" i will recieve a refund. Still waiting. Oofay on a scale of 1-10 is zero. Don't order if you like getting what you payed for. I will post if i happen to get my money back, but im not counting on it. Lata, James
