On Demand Research Survey review: Fraud 43

I'm not sure whom I'm more annoyed with...Kohl's or On Demand Research. I was offered to take a "Kohl's" survey in exchange for a $25 gift card. After spending several minutes with the survey, at the very end it stated that you must choose two products or services in order to receive the gift card. The were all services that I already use or do not need so I exited out of the survey. The next morning I had numerous solicitation emails from the On Demand partners. So, you get no gift card and harassing emails. Nice! I'm fine with answering survey questions but when you are ordered to buy something in order to get what you are promised, that is fraud.

I took two surveys from them and I received my 2 $25 Visa Cards after 2 months and with no problems. Now, you do have to watch the company rewardport.com. I advise you to run like the wind. I have redeemed 2 $25 Sears gift cards and after 2 years, I have not received one after numerous phone calls and emails so I chalked them up as a loss.

You are asked to fill out & mail a simple "Claim Form". Seemed easy enough.
Weeks later I get an email saying:
Congratulations! Your Claims from has been processed and accepted. You will now need to submit your Validation form, which may be downloaded on our member support page here: http://surveysondemand.net"
This then takes you to a link that downloads yet ANOTHER form called "Prize Validation Form" asking for a copy of your drivers license to be mailed in.
I have no idea under what circumstances people would need my drivers license to issue a gift card. Sounds like a huge SCAM.

I did 2 surveys promising a $25 TJ MAXX gift card for each one. I haven't heard anything about it after that. I'm SO ANGERED because you take your precious time taking these surveys for these places and you get things like $0.50 for an hour of your time or in On Demands case gift cards that do not exist! This is ridiculous! It was a pain in the butt for me to print out those stupid forms! My printer isn't compatible with my laptop, so I have to go to the library and then pay for it. (only $0.10 but still, plus the gas prices!) I don't think I'm going to be doing anymore surveys or them anymore, even if I do happen to accept my gift cards. I'll tell you what the weather will be like that day - hell will have frozen over, probably making it VERY COLD HERE!

I thought it was a scam, but it's not. The maximum amount of gift cards you can get is 2. I qualified for the Victoria Secret gift card and the restaurant gift card. It takes a LONG time, but I received both of them. And they actually just sent plain Visa gift cards instead of being for the specific retailer. Just wanted people to know that if you follow the directions and have a lot of patience, you will get two $25 gift cards.

Has anyone heard of them asking for a copy of your driver's license or photo id? They said they won't process any payments without that proof.

With all that is known regarding the numerous scammers and hucksters lurking about the internet, I just don't understand why (some) people aren't using their much needed skepticism to know that these so-called internet surveys, promising to offer "freebies" and other "goodies, " are merely cheap tactics used by scammers to bait their hooks hoping for a sucker to bite. It's the same m/o with all of those felonious telemarketers that "invade" our homes on a daily basis. They just want pertinent information to thieve from you. The main component that these internet scammers want from you is your email address. That's how profits are generated by the "lead" scammers selling your email address to a bevy of multiple scammers. Always remember: If it sounds too good to be true then it is. Be skeptical! Be cynical! We've only one chance at life and there's absolutely nothing beyond this life. So be true to yourselves and live your lives to the fullest. Don't let these slithering cons play you for fools!

I filled out everything I could to get a Burger King gift card but it asked for a mobile phone number. I don't have a mobile phone so that was a big waste of my time.

Yes.It is true. On demandresearch is stealing company names to get people to think the offers are legit.I've been doing offers for ingame currency for years now. Shopathome, ondemand, giftreward.com, and many others are ripoffs. You do what they require and get no end page, OR you are told to buy gold silver plat offers. They never send you confirmation emails for proof that you spent an hour on an offer and got screwed. Lately I have been emailing companies such as JCpennys, McDonalds, Cabela's, Outback, burger king, and tons more ...letting them know their company name is being used illegally in offers and I have sent screenshots and the name of the companies that are stealing the trademark, copyrights, and logos.

The companies HAVE no idea what is going on.But when you send them all the info, they can track them down faster. You WILL NOT win ANY such sweepstakes. So don't count on it.When they get all your personal info, they are done with you.And you get NO REWARDS.You have to avoid the surveys and the sweepstake offers.I know it's hard but you have to sort thru.

Do NOT download ANY games, ESPECIALLY from Greengames and Ham, and other obscure sites. They will fill your pc with malware and viruses. When you go to play the game they require, it suddenly isn't on the list of games at their site. And you are stuck with Maliciousness on your pc. Even if you unclick Whitesmoke, Conduit, Babylon, Iminent..etc in their download box, you will STILL receive them on your PC.Also malicious toolbars.

I've made over 18k points in my game I play, theHunter.I've also been banned by Matomy.they can't handle you sending them proof that you completed their big offers. So I just am able to get rewards from their videos. Believe me, you win NOTHING from these offers but a box full of email spam.

I have successfully answered 4-5 surveys to where i was given claim# and printed out forms and filled them in with all initials and signed them, just to receive nothing. I was put through an extensive survey every time and stuck it out to the end.It says you need not make a purchase to get gift cards, just finish survey and i have been took every time.I wrote them and their answer was that i must have filled form out wrong and that is why i got nothing.I have done all to the very smallest detail to ensure a gift card but because i did not order anything, they send me nothing.A COMPLETE FRAUD!..

I took a survey back in November. It did take longer then they said, if you didnt click out of all the pop-ups. It did take a couple months to get the correct forms and numbers and submit them. I just got the gift card yesterday! Yes - six months later. I had given up so was quite surprised. I also thought I had done the survey for a Kohl's card but was sent a Visa gift card. I did use it right away - wasnt confident it would work - but have had no problem. This whole process was a huge hassle so will not do it again but wanted to post that I DID infact eventually get my gift card, and NO, I do not work for on-demand. Interestingly - the letter they send with the card has a link on it for "other exciting prizes" which does not seem to work. Although my experience turned out ok - I would still avoid them. There are plenty of other sites that are easier and send money/rewards the same month you earn it. Good luck!

Scammers, I took over 10 of their surveys completing each long survey, I received the exact same confirmation number for all of them promising $25.00 gift cards to different places such as Kohls, Home Depot, Petco, Victoria Secrets, etc. I filled out claim forms and returned, I have emailed and written them, not one word back, what a waste of time and false advertising.

Consumers need to be smart enough not to be duped by these too good to be true looking surveys. While you may in fact receive a gift card after a lengthy wait, it's highly likely a $20-25 prize will end up costing far more than what it's worth. I filled one out once for a $500 Toys R Us card and after an eternity of meaningless questions, I noticed the only way to get a card was by signing up for bothersome businesses that make money off consumers like credit cards, SallieMae, etc., . Most wouldn't want anything to do with what you have to sign up for to get these measly gift cards. Ondemand Research is a fraud.

These emails pop up in my spam folder, there's no truth in these bogus surveys other than you're promised more spam. In no way am I trying to sound like an ### or making fun of the victim, but 98% of the time NOTHING'S FOR FREE. In a day where scammers stop at nothing to either cheat, or be a nuisance to somebody, knowing manure enough to stay clear of these goes a long way. Anything offering free food, gift certificates, etc., . is fictional more often that not.

Thank you thank you thank you everyone for post this form. YES! We need to do something now and quickly. Every fortune 500 companies are as responsible for this as much as the scammers. They allow them to misused their company name so they should do something about this. We all try to make a small living through this or as a side income. They waste our precious time and eclectic bill money, while we don't even earn a penny doing this. The government need to track down all these internet scammer and put and end to this. If there was a brick and mortar store scamming people the would do something about it why not on the net as well. When they say protect America, should it be fro all angles. Put a stop to all these fake work at home companies and actually make real ones. We are going through a recession again. More and more stay at home folks and retire or disable folks are just looking to make some money to put food on the table by the end of the day and this is going on. So sad. Take care and God Bless Everyone and their love ones.

I received an email to complete a survey for a Petco gift card. I took the survey as annoying as it was. Got to the claim form at the end and had trouble downloading it. I simply sent an email to them and they responding pretty quickly with a new link to the claim form. I followed the link and printed out the form. Once I filled out the form and mailed it in I received notice back that I would receive my prize in 8 to 12 weeks. Here I am 8 weeks later and today I opened my mailbox to find my $25 Petco card. All it takes is a little patience people. You do in fact get your prize in the end.

Signed up from an IGN email for a survey to receive $25.00. Within the hour, started receiving many emails and phone calls. I still receive many phone calls from phone numbers that only contain 3 digits!

If someone needs their information to contact them for removal, possible, then here's some information on them:
On Demand Research's website is www.zustek.com which is registered to:
Registrant Name: Venkat Yamani
Registrant Organization: Zeta Interactive
Registrant Street: 99 Park Ave 23rd Floor
Registrant City: New York
Registrant State/Province: NY
Registrant Postal Code: 10016

Zustek Corp. can be found registered in California:
Name: ZUSTEK CORPORATION
Business Address: 12842 VALLEY VIEW
GARDEN GROVE, CA [protected]
ORANGE COUNTY
Jurisdiction: CA
Business Telephone: 894-4274

It seems like Zeta Interactive, another corporation that is incorporated in Delaware, acquired Zustek.

I found this information after digging through public records. Hope this info helps.

On Demand Research it yet another source of spam. If you think it is bad now, just wait for about another 5 years when this outfit and many others will be tracking every move you make in every store, shop, and mall down to the type of item you are looking at. It won't be long until this info will be used to run actual TV adds tailored to your interest that will actually reside on your DVR and be triggered to play during selected commercial slots! I am sad to say that this is exactly how I make my living - finding ways to infringe on your privacy while just barely crossing the legality line (whatever that may be these days, if anything).

Ditto on all of the above, except that I received the “claim form” info, submitted it accordingly, and here it is over 10 weeks prior to mailing the completed form per the instructions.

I too realize I’ve been duped, having turned over information with the lure of a meager reward.

What recourse do we have, and is there an actual entity to complain to?

I had the same experience with them re: a Kohl's Gift Card. Went through the long survey, filled out the validation form to get the gift card, faxed it to them as requested and never heard anything. Upon failing to get the gift card, I inquired as to status, but all I received was another validation form. I copied the original form and fax confirmation report and all I got back this time was another validation form along with a request to provide a copy of a photo id, which I would never send them. I finally told them to take the gift card and shove it where the sun never shines.
