direct debit taken without consent
Complaint Rating: 100 % with 14 votes
Company information:
nutralogy
United Kingdom

Card blocked whilst grocery shopping. Telephoned bank. Found out a company called Nutralogy had taken £81 out of account without my knowledge or consent. New card had to be issued to me. A week before I had same problem with a company called Dazzlewhite. I suspect the two maybe connected in some way. Beware of both !

I've just had the very same thing happen to me this morning. I signed up for the "free trial" tooth whitening system from Dazzlewhite. I think I had to pay something like £4.95 postage and packaging, but I felt that was ok.

However I checked my online bank account this morning, and noticed that £ 80.35 was taken out of my account from a company called Nutralogy.
WTF???

I've never heard of a company called Nutralogy before. I then went back over my account to the beginning of October, which is when I ordered my free sample of tooth whitening products, and holy sh*t! I've actually had money taken from my account on four different occasions, 2 on the day I ordered my free trial, another 1 week later, and then the £80.35 yesterday, all from different companies.
The other amounts were all less than a tenner each, but in total, it all added up to well over £100. That's £100 I never authorized to be taken out of my account.

I went back onto the free trial website to see if I could find "Nutralogy" mentioned anywhere in the small print. I couldn't find it anywhere. I couldn't find mention of the other 3 companies that have taken money either, but my bank statement has the billing in Dollars, as well as pounds, so it's clearly been taken from american companies, and it just so happens that the free trial was from an american company.

They are clearly linked, AND IT IS CLEARLY A SCAM!

I can't believe I fell for it. I'm so annoyed with myself.

I called the bank right away, and they cancelled my card, have issued me with a new one, and have sent a report to their fraud department for them to carry out an investigation.

PLEASE DON'T SIGN UP FOR THIS TOOTH WHITENING FREE TRIAL.

IT IS A SCAM.

I may be correct in saying that this is because you have ordered online TEETH WHITENING PRODUCTS and all the way at the bottom of the terms and conditions where you didn't look (because it would take a while) they charged your account some type of other fee (postage, re-order, subscription, etc.). This company is not based in the UK, it is some business in the US

So, nutralogy, if on your statement, is actually, Dazzle White..
Don't bother any UK companies, as we have.. It's overseas. There are businesses that operate with trickery all over the planet.. Basically, this one has dazzled you as well.
Basically, you've been Dazzle Whited, taken to the cleaners and won't get a refund that's for sure..
Good luck

Yes, I just verified, the business is DAZZLE WHITE pro. When you order, what they seem to do according to others that have been charged, is
- Once you order from them, the
1 - subscribe you to OTHER PRODUCTS WHICH YOU ARE CHARGED FOR
2 - BILL YOUR CREDIT CARD /MONTHLY

therefore, to stop this, you need to officially write to them and also, cancel standing order or direct debit via your bank..
Good luck again, pat

Sadly I too have become a victim. I have had 2 transcations - Nutralogy £83 and Beutyclub £54 both the same company and spelling is correct. This is an out and out scam and I can't believe I've been stung !!! so angry ... just sounded off to some American call centre operator. My subscription has been cancelled but I'm still out of pocket. Lloyds TSB have been great and are trying to get the second transaction refunded as it's a different company name.

The only reason that I subscribed in the first place was for my 13yr old daughter who is about to have her braces removed from her teeth and wanted a tooth whitener ... Hopefully others will read this before they subscribe to this 'too good to be true offer' !!!
