Not good to do business with!
Complaint Rating: 80 % with 5 votes
It started a few months ago, when my 3yr. ARM adjusted and I looked to them because they were my current lender to do a Refinance. I worked with someone who kept telling me that everything looked o.k. and that the deal would be no problem. They asked me what the home would appraise for and I gave them a figure. Paid for an appraisal, and was told it came in right where I said it would.

After being told it would close by months end, then the next I started to get nervous. One day I emailed my rep, only to have my email be returned undeliverable. Called and got some other person on the line and was informed my Rep was no longer there. When I asked about my loan, they said it had been denied as the appraisal came in too low. I again asked what it came in at and they gave me the SAME figure I had told them in the beginning. After some research, they told me that the Rep I was working with had submitted it to Underwriting saying the value was $30,000.00 higher than what I told them.

Now I am scrambling to find another lender... DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE!!!

This story sounds so familiar. I went through something similar. I also contacted countrywide to refinance. I talk to a rep who started off by saying we have a loan for you.He came back on the phone and stated he worked his magic and was able to get my loan APPROVED, and it was going to Merry Christmas for me and my family. I advises him that I had to wait a couple of weeks to avoid prepayment penalties. He stated that was fine he went on to tell me what my new payments would be and how much I am going to save. He said I wont even have to worry about making December's payment either. I was so happy. for the last couple of weeks I have been stressing. I had not heard from him and every time I called I reached a womans voicemail. I kept calling the office and was either out sick or was not available. The two time I did reach him he assured me everything was good to go. This past Tuesday I called him back to see what the status was. He said he lost my bank statements and W-2 and I needed to re-send them again so I spent another 17.00 to send them. That immediately sent a red flag. He said he would call me and just like in the past no call from him, so I had my husband try to call him in which he stated that he was still trying to get a approval. ALEXANDER GONZALES in the south Florida division do not ever tell some one that they are approved until it has been through a underwriter. Good thing I am able to pay my mortgage otherwise I would have been screwed. SO MUCH FOR A MERRY CHRISTMAS thanks ALex. They need to stop sending there e-mails and letter stating they want to help you no matter what your financial standings are. There motto is there is a loan for you... BEWARE OF THESE FALSE PROMISES. If the government really wants to help home owners they need to stop companies like these who take advantage of the consumers.

I applied for a loan to refinance my home-like you I was promised that it would go through-everything was approved until I got back the appraisal report. It came back to low-I was charged $400.000 for my appraisal and was turned down-now I am out of $400-the appraisal did not even list all of the upgrades to my house
-Landsafe is the appraisa company.

I was called by shawn from countrywide when I was interested in refinancing, he needed to run a credit report of course so like an idiot i gave him my social etc and my wifes info. Haven't heard from him again in 3 weeks. Even if I was denied I think legally they have to send you something as to why,but it just bothers me that these people have my personal info and all I get is their answering machine.I called a 1800# later that night to see if they could I dentify shawns last name as a rep in New York, they did. So i guess this just breaks down to very poor business practice. I bet they would know how to get in touch with me if I skip a payment or two.
