Here is a phone number that will put you in touch with the Norton people... 1 800-379-2566

I had tried correction a charge of $42.19 on my account through email initially and had no luck. I finally found this number and called and spoke to a person. They are working on getting me a refund. They also said that the automatic renewal was for my convienence. This doesn't seem to be very convienent for me so far. Hope this helps.

I renewed my annual Norton by download from their site in late February for $49.99. On March 22, another charge of $63.59 showed up on my MasterCard which I did not authorize. Norton took it upon themselves to take that step so I let my charge card company know and they issued a credit to my account.

GAH!!! Same thing is happening to me! Norton is charging my account without permission, and it's impossible to reach them!

Norton charged my acct without my permission to do so.
I do not appreciate what they did. I will dispute this action.
Also I paid for 2 years in advance. It is not even close to being 2 years of protection. Now I feel like they are taking advantage and it saddens me that I am losing trust with this company.

Thank you Shawn R. I called the number you wrote and talked to a representative who assured me she would have the charges removed from my card within 24 to 48 hours. I will be checking on that. I was also removed from the automatic transaction list for prevention of future automatic transactions against my card.
For anyone else that doesn't like this kind of unapproved transaction, I would suggest having them remove this action from your account with them too. Good luck.

I have recently seen a charge posted on my credit card account for an unwanted renewal of $59.99. In the first place when originally order in March 2007, the product did not and would not work in my computer. It cuased my internet service to be dropped and after having to "clean" my system, I dropped the Norton and returned it to your company. I need for you to re-credit my account. And I do expect and email and credit showing on my account within the next billing cycle...Charles T.

I was charged for an unwanted renewal for Norton. I followed the link in the email sent to me before the charge was made and attempted to cancel the renewal with no success. There is not a "Cancel" button and deleting my Visa number did not work. I made 3 attempts to call them with no success as well. During the last phone call I made, I was told by the customer service rep that my card would not be charged because they could not see what Norton product I owned (I don't own any as I do not like their products). Somehow, this charge showed up on my latest statement anyway and I have been unable to resolve it through contacting Norton so, I have filed a dispute with my bank.

Thanks Shawn R, I called this number and CANCELED MY RENEWAL and demanded a refund. The refund is processing and should be charged back to my account within 2-3 business days. Once again thanks for doing the legwork and finding out the number.

I was charged too. I tried to resolve through Norton online chat but they "couldn't find" my account despite me giving them the order number, the order date, activation code, my name, address, email address etc.
After finding this discussion board and reading about other people who are in the same boat, I called Norton at 800-379-2566. Within 14 minutes of calling they canceled the renewal feature and reversed the $43.29 charge straight away. Very impressive. Interestingly, the technician I spoke to on the phone mentioned that the online chat tech person was actually unable to handle these kinds of issues...
I changed ISPs a year ago, and apparently they sent the confirmation email to my old email and because I didn't respond, they took that as my being ok with being charged forever. Very fish business practice.
Anyway, got my money coming back in 2-3 days.

My credit card was charged $59.99 on 3-19-08. I wonder how many people were hit on the same day for the same amount. I do not have Norton, did not order Norton, and do not appreciate the charge on my credit card.
