NAS is a cash cow that uses variously qualified physicians to perform the laser procedure. I thought I had done my homework before scheduling the procedure. After the procedure, I experienced such intense pain that I called the number I was given to ask about getting a stronger short term pain medication. I was directed to a physician's assistant who returned my call after I left more than one message. In addition I was experiencing intense pain in my right foot. I had no pain in my foot prior to the procedure. No action was taken to help me by the PA and the surgeons office told me not to call them anymore but to see a pain management doctor in my hometown and do physical therapy. I did to no avail. That was over 4 years ago and to this day my pain level has remained increased and I have difficulty walking. I have not been able to wear a closed toe shoe on my right foot. The procedure ruined my lifestyle and when I attempted to communicate my situation to someone management at North American Spine, I was referred to a marketing management employee who said they would redo the procedure at no cost to me. Really? I am an RN with a Master's degree in Nursing who otherwise is in great physical condition. Living the rest of my life with much more pain and suffering has been life changing for me. BEWARE!
I believe the surgeons use the same size catheter on every patient. I am 5'2" and weigh 100 lbs. I believe the catheter nicked or damaged an otherwise heathy nerve which resulted in my failed surgery and caused the damage to my right leg and foot because the catheter used on me was the same diameter as is used on someone twice my size. A follow up EMG verified that I have nerve damage to my right extremity.
STAY AWAY from this place.

I was going to ask for help from the north american spine institute, but changed my mind. Too many bad reviews.

Take a look at this website

http://med.ohio.gov/formala/35057342

Would you want this to be your doctor?

Then add :

A place I will avoid!

When I asked the sales person at NAS about Dr Rotstein and the malpractice suits she said he was doing the procedure without the benefit of nerve monitoring and that he is no longer than and was the pioneer in this procedure

Dr. Rothstein is now at north american spine so they must have ran him out of ohio.
