My ex husband was incarcerated for 10 years. When he was released, I still was not receiving child support. When my daughter turned 21, I began receiving 25.00 per month, I assumed for all of the back child support that he never paid. I was only on welfare for 2 years after I left him when my daughter was eight months old until she was about 2, and I am wondering if they are still taking out their portion of child support.
So, I found out that my ex cannot work due to extreme illness. His current wife pays my child support. He is a pastor of a church, and the church gives him a stipend. He is no longer receiving SSD benefits. I do not receive child support regularly, and when I try to call NJ Child Support, I can't even get the case number because of automated phones. The whole system is inaccessible. I just want to know the reason for why my daughter is 27 years old, and I am still not receiving child support regularly if there was an order. Who enforces the order? Why is it that sometimes I get nothing, then other times I get the correct amount? There is no excuse for this travesty of justice. He claims that he is paying, but I don't see the money every month.
