my airmax that i love and wear with my uniform have a white bottom. i took a soft tooth brush and cleaned the white as i like my shores clean did not use any chemicals or bleach on them after scrubbing with the tooth brush I took a wet towel and wiped the whole shoe down. while wipeing the black part above the white the paint rubbed right off...why would it be painted instead of useing solid black plastic or leather.
i payed alot for those shoes and exspect better quality.

I have a pair of Nike Airmax 90s in carbon green. There is a silver part around the side of the soul. I did not Eve wipe the shoe in fact I've worn it less then 10 times since I got it - maybe a month ago? And the silver color is just rubbing off from friction I guess. I paid $213 for these shoes mind you

paint on my particular airmax is part of the feature on the toe section and just wore off after only 5 wears.

I also have several pairs of Air Max LTD shoes and I have to agree with the first comment that the bottom sole, painted portion of the shoe will eventually rub off when scrubbed with a brush or harsh chemical, such as degreaser solution is used to clean the shoe. The way I preserve the shoe is first to spray some type of shoe protector such as 3M fabric protector or water/stain protector spray that you buy from shoestores, even before you wear it for the first time--spray when the shoes are new. As for cleaning the bottom painted part of the shoe, use regular water and a soft towel (microfiber) or paper towel. It's important to pat dry and not use any excessive force or scrubbing to dry the shoe or else the paint will start to rub off. You would've thought that Nike could've made a more durable paint or material for such an expensive shoe.

I bought the same pair of shoes, same color. I used a sneaker cleaner on them, did not scrub the shoe just wiped with towel after. The paint came off in that same area just above the white. I'm so happy I spent 100 dollars on a piece of ###.
