I normally buy bottled drinking water from my local Home Depot for my farm employees and my household use. I recently purchased 10 cartons (24 bottle cartons) from my local Home Depot which should be about a week’s supply. I noticed the brand had changed from the brand of water they had been carrying, which was bottled in Goodlettsville, TN. The new brand, Niagara, Purified Drinking Water, bottled in Groveland, Florida, was new to me and I took it home to try it. Immediately, as I began to drink the first bottle, I noticed a strange disagreeable taste. Thinking it was because it was new water it might take a bit of becoming accustomed to the taste, so I didn’t mention to anyone around my place that I found the water different. The next day my son mentioned the water had a funny taste. I told him it was just different from what we had been using. That afternoon one of my
employees mentioned that the new water had a “bad” taste to it. Well, 3 out of 3 found the water unpleasant. The next morning, I drank an unchilled bottle of the water and it had a definite fish taste to it, so repugnant I couldn’t finish more than one swallow. I decided I would call Home Depot and ask about the new water. I asked to speak to the manager, and held several minutes before someone came back on the phone. I left my name and number and asked that the manager give me a call. I explained to the person I was speaking with, who identified herself as a “receiving supervisor, ” about the issues with the taste of the water. I was hoping to arrange a return of the unopened cartons to the store. Since I never heard from the manager, I guess we are stuck with this bad tasting water. Though I am not sure what I will do with it, I am surely positive I will never purchase Niagara Purified Drinking Water again. Please, before you purchase an abundance of this water as I did, open and taste a bottle of it for yourself. I wish I had. I live in LaGrange, GA and shop at the LaGrange Home Depot Store.
