I read some of the complaints about Naxpmedia before I ordered from them. So why would I willingly enter a site that had proven to be a scam? Because at first they seemed inconsistent rather than an outright scam: people complained about not getting their orders, but some had received them, the owner of the site was apologizing on the Naxpmedia complaint sites (which are many) and claimed she was overwhelmed by the Christmas rush, and finally, I was looking at a particular item as a birthday present for a friend that either wasn't available or cost much anywhere everywhere else.

The item I had in mind was itself a fair amount of money, though, so I decided to test Naxpmedia first. I waited until after Christmas was well past and placed a $10 order instead, something that was very nearly the cheapest on the site. If I got the item, great. If not, it wasn't that big of a financial loss. And I'd have another story for a webpage where I discuss frauds, scams, or just plain corporate stupidity.

So here we go.

I placed the order on January 5th. Order #4195. Account debited. On January 8th I get a confirmation e-mail that the item has been "billed and shipped", UPS tracking #1Z55V9Y70390699159. My account information on the Naxpmedia page says the same thing. The website claims that the product should take 1-3 weeks to arrive. (Three weeks by UPS? OK. We'll see.) So I wait. And wait. And wait.

The date as I write this is Monday, February 4th, 2008. So I figured that the requisite three weeks having passed, I would go ahead and send an e-mail to their customer service. Not that I thought it would do any good--most folks who posted complaints on various sites about Naxpmedia said they got a cookie-cutter automatic response.

I got a cookie-cutter acknowledgment. They promise a response within 48 hours.

So here's what the complaints say, and here's how my experience stacks up thus far: They say that in every case where somebody doesn't get their item...and they can actually get through to Naxpmedia, which is extremely rare...they're told that UPS lost the package. They did, ay? Darn useless tracking numbers. Like me, all of them got a "Billed and shipped" e-mail response, but the UPS tracker said only "Billed or shipped", and that according to UPS reps, United Parcel never actually received the package.

Most e-mails, as I said, were ignored. The phone number given on the website claims that the office is "closed"--something the message claims at any time of day. (Check.) The phone number on the bank statement comes up with a message that the number's mailbox is "full". (Check.) Apparently replies from a more personalized e-mail address at Naxpmedia are virtually always ignored, but I haven't tried that one yet. I will if I don't here from Naxpmedia from the regular customer service address within 48 hours.

So before I contacted Naxpmedia, I contacted UPS. They were very interested to hear this frequent "lost by UPS" excuse.

So. One thing I didn't put together until after placing the order, alas, was the fact that the only people who finally received their orders were the ones who... posted frequently on complaint sites. But it gets better.

There was another series of complaints I didn't see before placing the order, and if I had I wouldn't have even bothered with the experiment: Those customers who ultimately did receive their orders got, to put it lightly, crap. "Garbage" video. Garbage audio. Incredibly unprofessional-looking package, including hand-written labels and spelling mistakes (some of which were crossed out). Crushed packaging. If I'd known that I'd be getting discs that were practically worthless anyway, I would've skipped it entirely.

Anyway, I await the further presence of Naxpmedia in my e-mail box as I write this. As does UPS.

More to follow, no doubt.

I placed an order on Januray 5 and received an email notifying me that it was shipped on January 8. I have not received my order yet but they have charged my credit card. I have tried emailing them but only got the response that they will respond in 48 hours. I have sent a second email after 72 hours and I received the same message that they will respond in 48 hours. What are my options? This is stealing, where can I file a complaint?

I want to know where I can file a complaint also. I ordered dvds in January 2. rcv'd shipping notice within that same week. Few weeks went by tracking # only showed that information was rcv'd from Naxpmedia but nothing else. I was told some bullsh$t story about things being backed up in their wearhouse in Hawaii and I had the option to wait or receive a refund. Needless to say I chose to receive a refund that I have yet to receive. These thieves need to learn a lesson! I want my darn money back!!!

We have waited six weeks for a Carol Burnett DVD we ordered from Naxpedia and have still not received it. After four weeks we contacted them by phone and were told it had been shipped and received a number. It's past six weeks and we still have not received it. My husband contacted UPS and they said they had a number but that they never received the shipment to deliver to us. This is past mid-February and we originally ordered this on January 8 2007.
this is the third time we tried to contact them.
