MyLife stolen info on minors

This website contacted me the same as everyone else, saying someone was searching for me. I did go to check it out but it was "free". Then, I discovered they not only had my info including email, full name, phone number, and DOB (everything anyone needed to steal my identity) but they also had this information on my minor children, hubby, in-laws, nephew, etc. They even have my childhood nic-name, something I haven't used in over 2 decades! When I tried getting them to remove the info, they informed me that it was. I checked and it was not removed. I sent them multiple requests and after over 2 months of fighting them, contacted the Better Business Bureau. The BBB did NOTHING but tell me there was nothing they could do bc I didnt respond to their questions, tho I had, repeatedly. I have been getting the run around about them for over a year! They need to be shut down!

MyLife unauthorised debit to my account by mylife.

Having received an email from Mylife I accessed their website which invited me to register for a free service which suggested that I would be able to follow up names of people looking to make contact with me. None of the names were of interest to me so I conducted no enquiries on the website, nor used it in any way. 3 or 4 days later I discovered a debit transaction on my account for £68.03 originated by Mylife. This amount was totally in excess of the amount of the $8.75 that I had authorised for the registration only. There were no indications that I would be debited a larger amount or that I had subscribed to further services. I have made attempts to contact Mylife but the website does not provide a 'Contact Us' type link. This is clearly a criminal scam. I would be very much welcome your looking into this matter and receiving your comments. Many thanks.

You need to double check the terms and conditions on the site. The free period was properly for x amount of time and so if you didnt cancel before the free period expired they would then proceed to charge you their monthly membership fee. I would instruct your bank so this company can no longer debit your account

MyLife billing practices

Wow, these guys really are something else. I requested a complete refund after noticing they took out $119.40 from my account when I only approved $9.99. I have contacted the Attorney General's office because this is terrible. When they told me they would not refund my money, I actually tried using it. The second I log in, they want more money. I couldn't even navigate 1 page without the 'pay more' pop-up.
I can't afford this type of thing, and I am very sure I am not alone.

MyLife additional charges

I got a full refund after my second complaint for their outrageous charges. I simply asked for their street address so I could complete my complaint to the Texas Attorney General. All of a sudden I got the response we'll refund you in full so you don't have to "be bothered" with filling out forms for the state attorney general.

MyLife false information added to profile

MyLife.com falsifies user information and does not provide any way for the user to correct it. They obtain unverified life history data, such as where an individual has lived in the past, from some sort of public records sources, but they make no attempt to ensure the data is correct, nor do they provide any way for the user to correct it. So incorrect information from some other person entirely gets permanently added to one's profile with no way to correct it. This amounts to slander and defamation. Attempts at contacting customer service are not helpful, they refuse to address the problem, claiming they do not have the ability.
So since they're willing to misrepresent you and lie to others about who you are (and refuse to give you any recourse to correct it), are you going to trust them with your personal data and credit card info?

My life has placed me on their web site as a woman, I'm a man and I need a way to contact them in order to get this changed. I really don't care to be on their site . They shouldn't post incorrect information about someone they don't know.

MyLife I gave them m bank account info and then could not get access to info I was tring to find

I was trying to get contact info on my cousin Terry Lee Branstetter, and the stated it was a free search site; however, the would not give me an info until I agreed to a month subscription. Somehow, the already had m bank account number and the name of my bank. When I agreed to sign up for 1 month for a fee of $9.95, I tried to log back into that account and could not do so. It stated my login and./or password I had just given them was invalid. Therefore, I need to know how I can prevent them from charging my bank account, since the obviously have no intenti0n of letting me get the information I was trying to find. Can you help me cancel any business with them and prevent them from debiting my bank account. Also, are there any real truly and totally free people search sites on the web that I can find the info I am looking for to include name, address, email address, etc?

MyLife email and theiving of contacts

I have a webmail w/ yahoo. This is good. I also have a webmail account w/ my ISP.
I had not been on the computer for 8 days due to bringing my yard out of winter.
Last night I went on, checked my email w/ ISP. I had rec'vd an email fr my other webmail on yahoo sent 2 days prior! The email was from ME you understand.
It was fr "mylife.com." At the top, this email had the addresses which it also sent thei email to, my contacts!
Have no idea how they got to my contacts.
Facebook did the same thing. My kids asked me to join so that we could pick up photos. Facebook took all the contacts on my list and posted them on the site! One of the contacts was of a now retired CIA specialist which does not want their name posted freely on the internet.
I took all contacts off of all email accounts and have them on hard copy.
I have looked around my yahoo account and cannot find a way to let them know what happened. Nor can I block this mylife site. They have other stuff, but not blocking a dot com site.
I had gone to Mylife once a month ago and never went back when I found out how much it cost.
I wd attach the link, but I was so scared I deleted it. Also w/in the body there was only a link which was a bogus link. I had to make myself brave enough to do a copy and paste to go there.
Everyone, please beware of "Mylife.com, " and "Facebook."
It seems funny that I sh warn people about Facebook, when there are millions of people that love that place.
Thank you for this site. For years I have been wishing for such a site.

You clicked on a link that downloaded a virus spy ware bot that got your Yahoo and Face book email list.
It is using that list to send invites to EVERYONE to click on a link sent by YOU!
When your friends click on the link, they too will be downloading the same spy bot.
Now their email contact list will be stolen to send the same spy bot.
Do a virus scan fast. Do not back up your hard drive as you will be backing up the virus.

MyLife false advertisment

I have now been the victim of stalker and saw the ad on tv for MyLife.com, I was appalled, yes appalled at its true purpose. I had personnally come to understand that MyLife.com would serve as a way to find out who is looking for you. I mean, thats what the ad said. But when I visited I simply had to put my age, first and last name all I saw pop up was all my personal information as well as a panoramic view showing the two houses directly across from my home! The photographer would have had to stand in my yard to capture them. I say thats extremely frigtening and dangerous

MyLife stay away

My life.com is connected to SAVEACE and also known as reunion.com. I've being recieving numerous payment on my debit card. I believe they distribute your account number to all this fraudulent company which then start making unauthorised billing.

I recieved two times billing of 4.95. i called my life and was told it was a non-refundable fee for accessing mylife.com members contacts. This was after i paid a $60 dollar one year subscription fee in june 2009 for that same purpose.

I was then billed 19.95 today july 11 2009 from saveace. Which i have no clue who they are or what i'm being billed for. I called mylife.com on [protected] asking them if they knew something about the billing because i know for a fact that i never used the card for any online billing accept for mylife.com bill. mylife.com denied giving savingace my acct information but accepted giving them my email address. I called savingAce on [protected] giving them the account info i used to sign up for mylife.com and i spoke to a representative who told me that mylife.com gave them all my log on details including my credit card number.

which draws a conclusion that mylife.com sells your private information to other fraudulent websites.

MyLife false advertising

How does the web site MyLife.com get away with all this FALSE ADVERTISING? They are allowed to advertise on tv saying that "you can find out who's looking for you for FREE." This is an out and out lie--you cannot! Take these people to the proper authorities so they can be prosecuted and stop their lies! They are obviously just reeling in people who believe their lies, so that they can update peoples' names and addresses all over the internet. Be careful what personal information you give to these crooks! Where are the authorities who prosecute false advertising? This is a crime.

This is a fraud and false advertisement. If you see the attached ad, you will see that is states that you can find out who has been googling your name. Not what percentage but an actual name FREE!

This is not the case at all however. You have to subscribe which will cost you $36 to $60 depending on the length of time.

When I called the 888 number: [protected]. I was told that this ad is incorrect and that I would need a premium account by Jessie at extension 256. Purely false advertising without a care in the world.

DO NOT SUBSCRIBE to this joke of a company. When it was Reunion.com I had a good friend that received so much spam after subscribing to them, that they had to get rid of that email account.

Mylife.com runs television advertising which claims consumers can find out who is searching for them for free. Once on the website, the mark discovers that, after submitting his or her information, he or she must PAY for the search information. This company is guilty of false advertising.

The TV ads imply My Life is a free service. It's not. The ads say My Life has millions of messages accessible by just going to their website. Once again, a lie. My Life showed 57 people who were "searching for me". I'd never heard of ANY of them. I signed up thinking perhaps I could hook up with some guys I was in the military with. Turns out that searching FOR someone requires another membership which costs even more than "getting messages from people searching for you". This is a total scam.

Wow...this is so funny. Supposedly grown adults, squabbling back and forth over all this non-sense about searching for someone, or being searched for and it didnt happen for free. Then you have the man that defends this website and is willing to argue beyond all scenerios. Not everyone is into online marketing or has the advertisement savvy TomStone does. I was about to go on this site, just to check it out. I would never pay anything without getting exactly what I thought was offered for free. Free means free. If I went in and found that it cost afterwards, then I just wouldnt give my credit card info or sign up. So really, this is all just common sense. Common sense for those who believe anything is for free and common sense for TomStone to even bother arguing the fact that people are upset about what they feel is false advertisement. It is very normal for anyone to feel this way. It's a no win situation. Why argue? And yes, it looks like I am supporting the website too by commenting. So what...It's free...RIGHT?

Yeah, Tom, why would anyone go to a scam sight and complain? The real question is why would *you* waste your time going to a complaint site and defend a company you supposedly don't represent?

The reason I'm here is that I got a spam e-mail telling me someone is searching for *me*, not someone named me but me. That's deceptive.

By the way, having a profile on everyone in the U.S. would also be deceptive as a profile by any standard and certainly *reasonable* standards which the law would require, is more than having their name.

You're obviously getting paid by the hour to troll websites defending these companies. If you're not, contact them and get a job, there's nothing better than turning a hobby into a money maker.

MyLife billing without my consent

I signed up for a month subscription because there was an ad that said someone was looking for me, but it was just a ploy to get me to pay $18.95. Then I read that it keeps charging accounts unless users go through the online process of changing it, which I did. Unfortunately, I don't keep a checkbook and found out they'd charged 5 months on my account before B of A emailed me informing me my card was being swiped without my consent and that's how I figured it out.

I signed up for a mylife.com account in feb 2011 using a paypal account for the first payment believing there were "people looking for me". I agreed to a $21.95 cent charge for that month but immediately selected to have my account not aut0-renew.

They never notified paypal to cancel the subscription service though they took away and canceled the "premium" service from my account so no service was rendered! Essentially, stealing money from me after I believed the account to be canceled.

When I finally caught on in September they only refunded me until April citing that "their system only went back 6 months."
Additionally they tried to argue that notifying paypal was my responsibility. That's like seting up an auto-pay with a bank account and routing number, then the vendor CANCELLING service but CONTINUING billing, saying that you have to contact the bank to stop payment on future electronic transfers... UTTER BS!

Mylife.com is a scam. Intentionally doing anything in their power to confuse and misdirect consumers into giving them (essentially) free money.

MyLife invalid information

I have a very unique first name coupled with my surname I am probably the only person in the country with the name. My complaint is that My Life.com has nothing but bogus information listed about me from my age, marital status and whom I am associated with. I am a professional with state certifications and licenses and the invalid information they have posted have cost me to lose clients. I have been unable to remove my name from their dubious site or even correct the information. If nothing else My Life should at least try to validate information and if they can't or receive complaints at least remove the person from their site oir change the information.

MyLife beware of what you open your life to - it shouldn't be mylife.com

Someone is tampering with my profile on mylife.com. If you look me up, you will find a photo that I did not put in there. It is a photo of a guy holding his arms and hands to look like he is shooting at the viewer. Before that, it was a guy kissing a baby's head. It took a 30 min call to clear that up. Seems someone's other profile was reflecting thru mine. They did not clear up someone else's access. Before that it was a photo of a black guy holding his hand in a peace sign at the viewer. I am not black and I am not a guy. My profile also had my places of residence, relatives and other information altered without my knowledge or consent. If someone can chronically get into my account, after repeated efforts to clear it up, no one is safe from the same thing. Beware of what you open your life to - it shouldn't be mylife.com.

MyLife deceptive advertising

I signed up looking for family members -- when I processed my payment, I thought I had signed up for one month at $XX: my receipt showed over $100 for service. I was horrified. Called the company and complained -- they quickly refunded me, and charged for only the month I wanted. The point here is that until one completes the financial transaction, one has no idea what is being charged. ** With the one month's service, I sent out e-mails and waited for replys. Of course the parties that received the e-mails cannot see them without subscribing to the service, and I cannot see if they reply without subscribing to an additional service. The entire thing is a scam -- meant to squeeze as much money out of people seriously looking for others. Better use the various on-line white pages, and send a quick postcard to potential contacts. This type of business deception is disgusting.

MyLife.com may not be doing anything illegal but they sure are walking a thin line and they are certainly not ethical. They will send you an email saying someone is looking for you only to inform you, after you register, that no one is actually looking for you. What a funny joke to play on someone! Also, be careful when you do register of being told someone is looking for you but pressing you to buy a whole year of service in advance. Guess what! After you purchase a year, no one is there again. What pranksters! Makes me want to fly to California, where their office is located, and show them how funny I can be.
