During December 2010 we have received our monthly utility bill with regards to electricity, rates and taxes. The amount due and payable was R47, 630-00. On the summary of the bill it was stated as Adjaustment Elec 2007/08, 2008/09, 2009/10 and 2010/11. We went to Centurion Municipality in order to investigate what this adjustments was. They explained that it was for a meter swap between the neighbor and our stands electricty meter. They told us that we have to talk to a person by the name of Nothemba in the CBD of Pretoria where the meter reading offices are. We went there but she was not available [on leave]. We talked to Grace Kopedi, but she was not very helpful and only tell us to make arrangements to pay the bill. We ask to consult with her director, whereafter she gave us the telephone number of Mr Dayalan Pillay. We tried to get hold of him but without any success. Not even his secretary Ms. Nanette de Beer was available. We visited mr Pillay's offices numerous times but without any success. There is just nobody to assist us. According to Section 118 of the Municipal Systems Act, Act 32 of 2000, they cannot held us reliable for payment of the account for more than 2 years. We reside at this address for almost 11 years now, but in 2010 it suddenly came to their attention that for all those years they have taken the wrong readings for the wrong stands. Now, they held us responsible for the account, but it was their mistake. It is not acceptable! Because we do not want our electricity to be cut, we had no choice but to make arrangements to pay the bill over 48 months. We are still not happy with it. Will you please be so kind to invesstigate this matter. we remand that the monies be writen off as the Municipality was negligent and not us, the consumer.

I have applied for a prepaid meter in 2009. Paid for it and got the card and the plugin meter. I paid R3500.00. I accidentally lost the receipt. Till to date, after numbers queries, have no prepaid meter or my money back. No one can help me.?. Mrs l Hill

I also recieved an sms from [protected], stating that I had won R120 000 in " NOKIA YEARLY PROMOTIONS" at about 2h52 am
on 6th September 2011. I was asked to contact a Mr. Michael Thambo on [protected] for ticket number 0166P to claim my winnings.

I never proceeded to give them any info. Be AWARE of these numbers and this fraudster!

how on earth have it been possible for the two residents bill to increase from R800 to R2500 ? and all in a sudden note the tswane municipality official will just say senseless story blaming it to the seasons("winter that, autumn this"). I agree you also have to generate revenues, but be realistic with this issue, . well, if in the case you check the readings and find out that they are speaking to the current Bill, then why not further collate the information? please

The new tariffs for electricity is bloody ridiculous to say the least! This is unaceptable, what the hell are you people thinking, I am beyond being calm! No idea who to complain to! No wonder this country is always on strike, first the toll fees and now this crap, this is insane. Electricity has gone from R300 - R1000 is this some kind of sick joke?
