Moving Staffers - broken goods

Worked with them to get movers for both ends of my move from Atlanta to New York. They seemed reasobale to deal with on the phone. When the movers at the destination began to unpack the truck they found many boxes and pieces of furniture that were damaged or destroyed because the truck was packed so poorly in Atlanta. The movers unloading the truck said they had never seen a truck so poorly packed before. I documented how all the boxes were crushed and the furniture had been stacked haphazardly, all with many many picture of the extreme amount of damage. Book boxes stacked on top of boxes labeled glass or fragile. A 100 year plus antique table just thrown on top of boxes and not tied down. A large chair stacked on a ironing board and then balanced on a vacuum, all three of which were destroyed or severely damaged. The antique table now will cost more to fix than what I payed them. Moving Staffers refused to pay any insurance, and the amount of damage exceeded the amount I payed them by a vast amount. I will never use them again and will go with a full service moving company next time. It was not worth the small amount of saving to have so much of my furniture and other items damage or broken beyond repair. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. They provide little to no customer support or resolution. The worst company I have had to deal with in as long as I can remember! This is a terrible and irresponsible company AVOID them at all costs, no savings is worth having all your possessions left broken with the refusal to work with you.

Moving Staffers - Moving Staffers is irrsponsible, inexperience and unprofessional

Do Not Use Moving Staffers! We got Moving Staffers from U-Pack, but it is the worst decision I listen to U-Pack, they most likely get kick-back from Moving Staffers for any referral! Movers didn't upload furniture professionally to fit into the footage allowance of the U-Pack container. Antique furniture broke due to bad upload.
Movers was working with Moving Staffers who were referred by ABF-U-Pack to upload our furniture to U-Pack container in June, 2014, with which we booked for 14 feet, we had to pay extra 5 feet of $132 per additional footage due to their unprofessionally way not able to utilize the space. They put heavy furniture after and on top of the lighter boxes. An unwrapped antique heavy wood table on top of boxes left top half of the container empty. At the end of the shipment, only a mattress took over 1 1/2 feet, then put a dolly cart which took over another foot in front of it. When we demanded them to re-arrange it, they said their 5 hours' time was up, also they claimed that was the best they could do even though we said the top half of the container was empty. When the container arrived across the country, the belt tied to the end of all the furniture was popped out. Due to empty space on the top half of the shipment, most items, wood table, wood chairs, refrigerator, freezer which were only loosely wrapped by the movers, were shifted from one side to another. Besides damages on the shifted appliances and furniture, the shift hit and damaged the adjacent boxes. We contacted Moving Staffers but our compliant was denied because they claimed the movers only responsible for damage on the job site, we had to instruct these professional movers how to pack! Moving Staffers came up with these unreasonable excuses not to take responsibility of their unprofessional service of being professional movers! As if how can a patient tell a doctor how to perform a surgery on him? Or how doesn't a restaurant take responsibility of their food prepared unless their customers get sick inside the restaurant? ABF-U-Pack should not refer Moving Staffers, Moving Staffers should not qualify as being a professional moving company when their staffs cannot professionally do their jobs well.

Moving Staffers is irresponsible and definitely is not an inexpensive service, considering they hire inexperience staffers to handle household moving. The most irresponsible for how they pack, and absolutely do not responsible fr any breakage or damage due to their negligence. This Moving Staffers should not be able to provide moving services.

DO NOT USE ‘MOVING STAFFERS‘. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED

My wife and I decided that since we are in our sixties we ought to allow professionals to pack our belongings into the ABF U-Pack Trailer we hired.

Before I continue I must advise, ABF U-Pack was a fantastic experience and they have no affiliation to Moving Staffers, other than Moving Staffers having an ad on their page.

Stupidly we did not read any reviews on Moving Staffers. The very minute we engaged them they charged their retaining fee because they knew they are so bad they would at least have some money in their pocket once they ripped us off.

They sent two arrogant kids to pack our precious cargo who didn’t realize that both my wife and I knew how to pack a moving unit. They were argumentative and rude and didn’t have a clue as to how to pack a moving unit.

The first few courses of boxes looked good, so my wife and I continued what we were doing and left them to their work.

After 5 hours with furniture being moved out of the house, we checked their progress thinking they were most likely almost finished with the job. They had more than half the trailer packed and more than two-thirds of our belongings were still in the house, garage, barn and driveway. The packing was all wrong, just a jumble of furniture and boxes and not floor to ceiling and they had packed things we told them to leave. Their advice was to hire another two trailers and pay them the hourly rate that Moving Staffers would charge for their time.

Needless to say we had to stop them and send them home. Their next insult was to lie to my wife getting her to a sign a form passing it off as a time sheet, it was in fact an agreement that they had completed their assignment, we were happy with the work, and would pay the charges.

That was on a Saturday after the business office had closed. My wife called Sunday morning and left a voice mail which was returned Monday morning by Chelsea. She said she’d call and tell us where we could send our complaint and the pictures we took. She was advised that we were leaving town that afternoon, and perhaps she could email the information to us. She agreed. We are still waiting for someone to get back to us to see what they could do to make us happy. We found out later that they had already charged the full amount indicating they had no intent to work with us.

With the help of our Realtor and her son we unpacked and repacked the whole trailer getting all of our possession on board within 5 hours.

It has been a 5 month fight now between us and this disreputable company via our credit card company and because my wife signed what she was told was a ‘time sheet’ this company has successfully made off with $650. It will be now be my avowed intent to dissuade others from dealing with this bunch of crooks.

Believe me packing a moving van is not rocket science, however it is far beyond the proclaimed talents of these idiots.

Our experience of this company is that they lie about their experience, their staff and credibility, it’s just a scam to procure your hard earned money by deception, theft is another word for it.

DO NOT USE ‘MOVING STAFFERS‘. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

I used Moving Staffers to load my furniture. More than HALF my belongings arrived damaged, totaling over $10k. They refused to accept any responsibility at all. The pulled a technicality on me by saying "they have no control over who packs for them". What a total crock. If you're hiring independent people to load containers for you, then you have DIRECT control over your services and should accept "some" form of responsibility.
I will NEVER use them again and I now go out of my way to steer people away from this service.

Had a very special item packed and damaged due to poor packaging - I had told the company not to bother packing it if it wouldn't fit and/or couldn't be packed properly (It was small enough, I told them, that I could get it during a later trip in my car). When I complained and filed a request for compensation for the damages, I was offered $18 as per the weight of the item even though the damage was not due to just the transit but due to gross negligence on the part of the movers.
