July 13, 2015 I checked in the hotel in room 212. They were doing repairs, there was alot of noise, no big towels, no ice machine, roaches, and bugs. I left and came back, there were kids yelling & screaming in the room before mines. The door kept opening closing, & cars was arriving every two minutes. Called the front desk to tell to call the police. She...

Motel 6 bedbugs crawling on my pillow

On June 30th 2105 I stayed at Motel 6 in Essington PA near Philadelphia airport. Here is the video that I shot of bugs crawling on my pillow.
You can also search for it on youtube. Use these words:
Motel 6 Essington bedbugs

The crazy thing is that they won't address it.

On July 23, 2015, I checked into the Motel 6 with plans to stay until the 26th. On the afternoon of the 24 th, while taking a nap, I was bitten by bedbugs. I went to Walmart and purchased bed bug products and returned to the motel where I proceeded to strip the bed I was sleeping in. Lo and behold, the mattress had a hole in it the size of a golf ball. I...

I made a reservation here for 5 days while we looked for another apartment. We were previously staying at the one in Beaverton it had not been renovated. It was dirty and it was a smoking room so it smelled like cigarette smoke. At least the ac worked a wall unit. The beds were pretty old covered with plastic and a mattress pad. Then we switched to over...

Motel 6 hispanic migrant workers

Approximately 2 weeks ago a bus load of migrant Hispanic workers arrived at the Motel 6 in Marshalltown, Iowa. Every night around 10:30 pm to 11 pm. the Hispanics spend over one half hour filling 5 gallon buckets of ice from the ice machine to fill coolers they use in a common area on the Motel property(quiet should be maintained after 10 p.m.). I've seen the Manager/Owner of the property mixing with these workers. About a week ago, he scolded white workers (workers working on a natural pipe gas line in Marshalltown, Iowa) for filling their water coolers before going to work (early in the morning) in 80 - 95 degree weather. Seems to be preferential treatment for Hispanic people.

To whom this matter concerns:

I have been staying at Motel 6 since I was a kid, with my dad and I staying in one when the rate was $6.00 per night, how the franchise I understand got its name. I have a dog, and it's great how pets are allowed to stay free.

Yesterday, July 23, 2015, at about 4 pm I went to check in at the Motel 6 in East Wendover, Utah. The young woman at the check-in counter informed me that she could not rent a room to me because I had been placed on a do not rent list. This took me by complete surprise. I asked her why and she was vague as to the specific reason. During my last stay I told her I had complained of there being cigarette smoke coming into my room, apparently getting into the ventilation system from a smoking room adjacent to the room I was in. (which the front desk attendant informed me was apparently taking place.) This complaint was apparently held against me. I am allergic to cigarette smoke and had a non-smoking room. Upon my departure, the attendant, whose name I believe is KIm, was apologetic, stating that they were going to check out the problem. Little did I know that he was going to hold this violation of the terms against me for the next time I came to stay. I had spoken to him before when I have stayed there without there being any problems, but he apparently held my complaint against me.

However, I wanted to resolve the issue because I needed a place to stay for the night. The young woman gave me Kim's business card and told me to call him. So, I went out to my car and called the number on the card. The first time I called, I was hung up on, and the second time I called the young woman I had just spoken to answered. She then told me Kim was not available, gone until Monday. (Why did she mislead me as a way to contact him?) She was leaving me no way to resolve the issue. Although I was unjustly treated, she was being accusatory toward me.I then hung up and drove away. I have never been treated so wrong by any Motel 6 (or any other chain) in my life, and I stay at them with my dog on a monthly, if not bi-weekly, basis. I was not informed that any problem even existed or told that I would not be allowed to stay at this Motel 6 nor provided a chance to discuss this matter prior to attempting to check in. Instead of trying to be more accommodating and in any way attempting to make up for the breech of the smoke entering the room, I was mistreated a second time.

I feel very wronged by the way I was treated, and as a result I thought it is necessary, as do several others who stay at your chain, to write you this letter of complaint--a first for me. I appreciate you addressing this matter.

Sincerely,
Alan Millard

My wife had been driving from upstate ny all day to beat a snow strom. We decided to stay at motel6 for the night, once we got our room #48 we brought in our lugage to rest for the night. The first thing that happened was the light didn't work. We called the desk to have it fixed, he ended up replaceing it with a smaller lamp. Then I went to lock the door...

Motel 6 horrible room and service

I ended up leaving a day early because I couldnt take it anymore! The cable only worked sometimes, there looked ike bedbugs, there was feces all over the side of the toilet and what looked like blood in the sink. It was filthy, I had to practically beg to get the room cleaned. Then when it was "cleaned" all that was done, was make the bed, and put a roll of toilet paper on the floor. I ended up cleaning the room myself. When I did checkout early the clerk threatened to charge me more!? I wasnt even asking formoney back. I understand this isnt a 5 star hotel, but a clean safe room was what I expected, and not to be charged more when I checked out early because the room was so horrible! I ended up having to pay for 2 hotels. I will be going to bbb, yelp, angies list after this submission. Im giving motel 6 a chance to make this right first.

Motel 6 customer service / quality of employees

I would usually stay at the Motel 6 in Amherst, NY when I would travel in to visit my daughter. I would usually arrive around 1:00 to 1:30 in the afternoon and the past employees would be helpful and allow me to check in. Today, I had the unfortunate encounter with an employee who should be on the unemployment line. When I arrived she said check in is 3:00PM. I explained that they informed me I could possibly check in early when I made the reservation. She stated they should not tell me that because, and I will quote, IT IS MORE WORK FOR ME, end of quote. Mind you, the only person in the lobby is me, phone is not ringing, and she is looking at her cell phone. Obviously, not a question of more work, it was a problem to do any work! I have been in business for 45 years dealing with customers. I preach to do everything you can possibly do to make a customer happy...they have a choice of what business they choose. I have stayed before and walked out a side door and almost stepped in dog poop...on the sidewalk. Motel 6 is the lowest end of the motel food chain. They will stay there with the quality of employees, training they are given, and ability to pick up dog c***. There are more than enough choices of other hotels in the area that have employees that give a crap. Avoid this dump like Ebola!e2f78

Motel 6 room

It is way over priced. I will never stay here again. They don't even supply the little shampoos and conditioners. There is no hair dryer and the tv's are really small. The walls are really thin and you can here the planes taking off and landing all day and night. If you have dogs there isn't a lot of room to walking them and there isn't a lot of parking either. The beds are terrible, they feel like they were from 15 years ago and they haven't changed them. No coffee pots in the room. If you stay for more than a night you have to keep going to the office to get your card to work again because they keep changing them at noon. I was in room #218.

The maids have very poor English and the Denny's across the street was horrible. The waitress let our food sit there for 5 minutes and get cold before we got it.

Motel 6 very rude unprofessional

I had an issue with an AC unit in my room. I went to the front desk and got nowhere so I asked to speak to the manager. Brian Rice, the manger came to the desk and treated me so rudely I ended up checking out. He called me a no nothing loser as I turned to walk away from his rudeness. My 9 year old daughter heard it and asked why the man called me a loser. Brian Rice is a complete embarrassment to the Motel 6 chain. As I was checking out Brian Rice had the nerve to come to my room and tell me I have no clue how to operate an air conditioner. It was uncalled for and we almost got into a fist fight as my family was leaving the hotel. Someone at Motel 6 has got to do something about this.

Motel 6 payroll & tax fraud

Dear Sirs:
I applied for employment at Motel 6 here in Laramie, WY. I was training for Front Desk as well as housekeeping. The housekeeping mgr was short handed, and they put me into her department, plus she stated that she liked the fact that I did not miss any details while cleaning the rooms. I was fast, and extremely hard working. My fingers were cracking and bleeding.
The housekeeping mgr and another housekeeper go into the rooms to take out the dirty linen before the housekeepers go in to clean the rooms.
I had noticed that there were never any gratuities in the rooms that they stripped. One day a week they were not able to get to the rooms to strip them right away, and I made about $15 to $20 in gratuities. The housekeeping mgr had told me that when her assistant leaves that she would like me to take the position (her assistant leaves in June).
I could not prove that they were stealing my tips so I took a dollar of my own and placed it in room number 132 (I believe that is the correct room). I then started cleaning at another bldg. When I arrived to clean that room, the linen had been taken from the room, as well as the dollar. I searched the entire room; to give them the benefit that maybe they had knocked it off the table. I was angry and near tears.
I put the sheets and towels and everything needed into the rooms that I had left to clean to make it easier to clean the rooms. I went to the housekeeping mgr (who strips the rooms) and asked if I could go to lunch. I then went to the front desk. I informed Heather (at front desk) that I was leaving and why and that I probably would not return because of it. I attempted to write down the time I was leaving on my timecard but Heather would not allow it as she needed to put the new timecards out. She did have me sign my timecard in two different places before I left and she promised to write down the hours on a new timecard (the time that I came in was on the timecard). This was on Sunday, May 8th. I called Friday morning, May13th and asked when I could pick up my check, and the front desk clerk stated that I could come in then. The mgr. called as I was driving, and left a message on my phone stating that I would have to wait until after 3pm. The message was offensive, and he had mentioned that I should take a good look at my paycheck. When I received my check, it was missing hours, to which they stated that I would have to wait two weeks before they would pay me for those hours.
Also, when I completed my I-9 New Hire form, I had put EXEMPT on it. My paycheck had Fed WH in the amount of $46.00. I am aware that my employer did willfully and intentionally commit a violation of a known legal duty. He did intentionally commit a criminal tax offense. I have kept my paycheck stub as well as the phone message that he left on my phone as a form of proof of this fact.
I believe that if he has committed this tax offense knowingly against my payroll that there is a good possibility that he has done this knowingly to others in the past, and that he will commit the crime in the future against other employees.
I am uncertain if the owner who is the signer on the payroll checks is knowledgeable about the federal tax laws or is aware that this is happening.
I am requesting that my payroll be corrected as I am EXEMPT, and that my ex-employer be made aware that legally he has until May 16th to provide me with all of my wages that he owes me, as he has no intention of paying me by this time.
I am also requesting that you contact the correct Federal Department and inform them that he has committed the Federal crime of knowingly disregarding the I-9 form that I had completed, and that there is the possibly that he has committed this against past employees. If required, I can provide a copy of the message that he left on my phone, showing that this was intentional, willful, and not accidental.
The manager at Motel 6 in Laramie, WY who left the message on my phone is Larry Payne. His email address is listed as [protected]@motel6.com.
I would like to also advise you that I have witnessed the housekeeping manager removing a gratuity from a room, and that I am aware that she did not clean that room, and that she did not give that gratuity to the housekeeper who cleaned that room.
Thank you,
Sharon Burnette

Motel 6 ripped off

we were asked to leave with no refund, after paying for another night. my daughter rented a room for someone because their id was broken and because of that we were asked to leave. we were treated very rudely and threatened with the police. my husband had to run down towels to take a shower and then the maid came and took them while we were out, without even cleaning our room. we are appalled at the treatment we recieved. i would not reccommend motel 6 to anyone.

Was told to come by at 530 am to get the the room for the night, paid 225 bucks for two nights and this was on a Thursday morning then got kicked out on Friday! They then threatened to call the cops on me and had all my ### in a bin. It was some fat butch chick that did it. Very very very dissapointed. Plus one of the beds had sand in it and stunk really bad . Don't get screwed stay away I wish I could get them back.

Renting a room for someone else is called, "fronting, " and it is illegal. The motel could get into a lot of trouble and face thousands of dollars in fines, if the authorities had reason to check. You were not, "ripped off, " you are lucky the clerk did not call the authorities on you.

Motel 6 room guarantee worthless

Reserved a Motel 6 room online days ahead, guaranteed it with a credit card, received confirmation via e-mail.

Arrived at 8 p.m. and was told they did not have any rooms.

The online reservation site informs clients can be charged for guaranteed reservations unless cancelled by 6 p.m. I did not cancel, instead driving 14 hours in bad conditions to use the room I assumed I would be charged for.

The clerk's only explanation was: "Lots of people want rooms today."

I am handicapped and had requested a ground-floor, non-smoking room with walk-in shower. She said "because of the weather, all the ground-floor rooms were gone by 3 this afternoon."

Although I have never had a problem with a Motel 6 meeting my needs, I do realize they state they may not be able to comply with special requests. But I at least expect them to have some kind of room when it is guaranteed.

Only after threatening to sleep with my service dog in the lobby, did the clerk finally say she'd find me a room, after which, she told a apparent walk-in in the process of registering that they did not have a room after all.

Despite the 8 p.m. hour, housekeeping hadn't gotten to the room yet. The room was smoking and second-floor with an outdoor staircase.

I wonder if Motel 6 (or at least this one) is double-selling rooms, i.e. peddling reserved rooms after the cancellation deadline in hopes the person who is still financially responsible for the room will not be able to get there.

The only bright spot was a housekeeping employee (Gary), who saw me struggling with my suitcase and cane on the stairs and was quick to insist on helping me.

I usually stay at Motel 6 when I travel, and I know enough not to expect the Ritz. But I do expect to be treated honestly.

Before I use Motel 6 again, I would like them to convince me "guaranteed reservations" is not a joke.

You need to read the website information more carefully. If you did, you would see that your guarantee is only until 6:00pm. Unless you call and request a late check-in, they can cancel your reservation, and rent the room, especially if there is a special event, or they are very busy. Since they told you that, "a lot of people want rooms, " it sounds like they were busy.
