My Cousin Angela suggested a Church to go to the Mormon Church in Lancaster, CA that would help me to relocate to another county because of an ex's abuse toward me and my children.

I attended a couple of services and partook in their communion services as well. Well it had something in the water they were giving out because it felt as though it like a tranquilizer of drug of some sort. A strange feeling came over me whenever I drank the water they were giving out to the Members. Nevertheless, My cousin Angela suggested I go in and speak with the Bishop to get help to relocate to Northern CA, Tehama County. So I did. When their Members, only men, no women, were coming to my house, they kept wanting me to say Joseph their leader was a prophet sent from God. I did not. When they helped me relocate they told me to check in with their Church in Tehama County. So I did

I attended once and got a very uncomfortable feeling. So I stopped atending, nevertheless, they continuted to come where I lived and kept harassing me into saying there Leader was a Prophet sent from GOD, well I did not, I moved to another apartment and they kept following me where ever I went or moved and continued to harass me into a saying this.

I never did, the only Prophet Joseph, was, is a profit of money from his members giving up oney from their pay checks. It was very parciular, there was never a woman sent, only men, not one woman from their Church harassed me, only the men recruiters for their Church.

They are wolves in sheep's clothing and just want members to give up money from their paychecks to support what ever purpose they want it for. This is how they make their money, the Church Heads don't work, they get money from the Members so they don't have to work.

The only prophet I see in this Church is the profit they get from Members hard earned money. It is just a scam, and they have their own Bible, they took parts of the King James Version and put it into their own version, which is plagerism.

Plagerism is against the Law, you cannot use someone else's idea for your own...

Wow, you must be a member. No I didn't use them at all. I actually welcomed them into my home and fed their members because they claimed they did not have food or other means to support their missionaries. The person being used was me, and harassed on a regualr basis and being forced into something against my will.

I don't answer to Mormon's I answer to God. Maybe you should do the same!

There are only 2 kinds of fruit, that that is good and that that is bad. Which one will you choose? I have been to many churches throughout my life beginning in Childhood. There are those that talk and there are those that walk. You either "Bare Good Fruit" or you "Bare Bad Fruit".

Update by SweetSag12

As you can see, there are those that bare good fruit and there are those that don't. Just read the comments...All I did was put the truth of what happened to me, and look at what has become of it. Who sounds like a "Phycho" to you? There are some in the churches that did not hurt me, but there were other's that were just ruthless, just to get what they want. No I don't Judge I just do the writing of what is true and what is not...All I was doing was visiting and this is what came of it...I am only a simple messenger...

Joseph Smith says Bring’em Young. (And if you did, he’d just pull Old Testament King David’s trick and get you sent off to your death in the name of mission work so he could have them all for himself). Between the inbreading from polygamy and down wonder syndrome from nuclear testing, it’s no wonder Mormons are total [censored].

No one should defend or serve that church because it is being condemned by the truth.

There have been murders of inmates at Washington County Jail in Washington County, Utah. The mormon leadership, at the very least, knew this was happening. They had witnesses in the jail and most of the employees are probably mormon. I also witnessed satan worship at that jail in full view of the guards. I consider this an attack on my spiritual salvation. They wanted me to surrender my soul to that. Also, a group of male guards taunted me with sadistic threats of a sexual nature for hours. The only reason I survived that jail is because God saved me to tell the truth about what that church has really been about. They arrested me because i was trying to protect my 16 year old daughter from them. They are worse than the fundamentalist polygs who marry and impregnant children. Brigham Young was a vile man who ordered the massacre of hundreds of innocent people including children. When the vilest men are exalted the wicked walk on every side. No one in this states leadership has stood up for the truth. Washington County attorney office said they did an investigation but they did not ask me for the description of even one employee or interview the witnesses that I told them about. Utah is a part of America and is answerable to the laws of the land and our constitution.

I don't believe in the Mormon church. Doesn't mean I'm with Satan now. It means that Mormons are a cult and don't get caught up in it.

I use to a Mormon. To be worthy enough to enter the Temple. They ask if you have kept the law of chastity and kept the word of wisdom. And if you have any issues with other family members and I still didn't receive my Temple Recommend. Who are this so called men of God to say you are worthy to enter the Temple? You don't live in my shoes! Don't judge me. You don't need Gold ceiling to speak to God. You don't need a big spacious building full of Gold graving to speak to God. Only God can judge me. all brain wash. Only God knows my heart if there is a God.

I was punched on the jaw on Temple grounds by another church member. The Young Adult Tongan ward in Oakland, California. I'm not going back because I don't trust that member anymore. I feel threatened.

I attended one of the Tongan Young Adult Ward. Basically, the Branch President and the whole entire ward are related to the young woman I've been dating for 6 months. Her and I broke the Law of Chasity and that is when things got worse. Basically I caught her talking to another guy on the phone. I got so angry that I punched her and I was arrested. Stayed in county jail for five days but I prayed she wouldn't press charges. My prayer was answered and I made it out. Then I went to church on Sunday to confess and apologize to all her family and ward. Basically, one of the cousins punched me in the face on the Oakland Temple church. I was trying to make peace but I'm no longer going to church because all of that.

Jesus freed us from the curse of not paying the Tithe. The Jewish Tithe was 10% of income plus charitable donations plus a curse if you don’t pay. Some churches now refer to the church donations and collections as “tithes” (ie giving but not tithing), it can be of any amount, but this must be strictly voluntary, in secret and it is unchristian to demand it. The poor are excused as the money partly goes to help them. This is all in the New Testament from the Apostles.See - http://bible-truths-revealed.info/adv15.html

I feel very sorry for you having fallen prey to a religious cult like the Mormons. They are not a nice lot, at least they are extremely nice until you become a member and then they start showing their teeth. Come into my web said the spider to the fly – that sort of thing! They will harass you to say that Joseph Smith is a true prophet, that the Mormon church is the one true church, that you give your testimony, that you pay the tithe, that you give them one tenth of your time whether you are terribly ill and in a deep coma or not, if you do not go to church they will keep on coming to your house even if you ask them not to and even if you tell them that you have left the church they will send you upsetting letters and keep on coming as if you are still a member, etc. ! Welcome to the Mormons!

You say that something happened to you when you took the sacramental water. I am not sure whether you think that there was something in the water or whether you had a religious experience. If you think that it was a religious experience, this is all right. Jesus takes anyone who comes in contact with him and you would have had this experience in which ever church you happened to be when you were asking the questions that you were asking or whatever it was that was going on in your head at the time. People have these experiences in whatever church they happen to be in and is nothing new. There are a lot of very faithful people in the Mormon church who are innocent lambs just like you. However it is not a good church and its teachings are false. Regarding their law of tithing, it is a universal religious practice, in what ever of the worlds major religions one belongs to give alms (ie charity) as part of their devotional practice. The Jews used to give a tenth of their income to the temple. Jesus did away with the burdensome Jewish religious laws. The Bible is open to your interpretation. It becomes burdensome if they insist that people pay this amount. However, the Mormons and other evil cults go after this idea with a great deal of enthusiasm and efficiency. They keep a record of how much each member has given and pursue people who have not paid. They want you to pay to pray and miss the spirit of this act of devotion. They promise untold blessings if you do, but you need to pay for each blessing that you get! There is something definitely demonic in the way that they go after people who do not pay the Tithe. I think that it is partly jealousy, if they have to do it everyone else must do this as well. Perhaps they should also shave their heads and prostrate themselves before the alter or hang themselves from meat hooks to further their religious devotion, why should it stop at paying Tithes? Many people give everything they have to the church. If they are not doing this they are not doing enough! You should give what you feel like giving to whomever, whatever charity and whenever you want to. No one should feel that they have to pay to pray and the better churches do not force people to donate, but the churches do need support to survive. It is free to pray and you will be blessed whatever you choose to do. If you feel that you do not want to, do not do it, because this is a big spiritual tease. I hope that you do not start feeling peculiar if you don’t.

First off, before you bash someone or something, do the research FROM THE SOURCE. If you want to buy a Chevy, do you go to a Ford Dealership and ask them about the Chevy trucks? No. I am a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. We are not crazy and quite frankly, when you learn everything that the Church REALLY teaches, you will want it for yourself! Joseph Smith was a Prophet of God. The Book of Mormon expounds and testifies of what the Bible teaches! If you would ACTUALLY read it, you would find this out for yourself! I have! I'm not stupid, I'm not blind, no one held a gun to my head and made me believe this. I did the research, asked God the Eternal Father in the name of Christ if it was true, and I got an answer! I feel sorry for you people who hate something so amazing. But DO NOT bash on something that you do not know.

I have finally found the most ignorant website on the internet. Here.

First: The original poster of this thread is without a doubt the most ungrateful person I have ever heard of. Where do you think the funds came from to pay for your relocation? It came from the MEMBERS of the Church you are so intent on bad mouthing. I am not surpised that your water tasted funny at Sacrament. It probably turned to poison because your heart is so black. Maybe next time you need to move you should call Obammie. I'm sure he will help you out.

Second: The name of the Church is The Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter Day Saints. The reason we do not believe in the Trinity is because Christ never said anything about the Trininty. When Christ was baptized, Heavenly Father spoke saying "This is my Son with whom I am well pleased" and the Holy Spirit decended from heaven in the form of a dove. This is three distinct personages. It doesn't get much simpler than that. The concept of the Trinity came from the Council of Nicea over 300 years after Christ's death in order to solve a political delimma realting to Constantine's acceptance of Christianity for the entire Roman Empire. From this we get the great "[censored] of Babylon" aka the Roman Catholic Church.

It sounds like to me that the original poster is just a user and wanted to use the Church for her own purposes. This is the same as the people that come to Church once a month when they need food (which the Church distributes for free) but who basically can't be bothered any time they don't need something. In the LDS Church, about 10% of the members account for about 90% of the Church welfare all the time. This lady just takes the cake, IMHFO.

I can't believe someone would bad mouth any organization that would help them relocate... Fyi. The mormon church does a lot to help their members in need... From paying rent, providing cloths and food. For ### sake, they helped your ### when the only reason you went to them was for help... There was a reason your friend referred you to them.
No wonder your ex beat your ignorant ###.. Probably couldn't stand how ###ing ungrateful you are.. I'm sure he took care of you in several ways including financially and you still found things to ### about.
One more thing, your surprised that people came to your house to preach their beliefs? ... I wonder where they got some crazy idea that you were interested in converting? ..., oh, you probably went and begged and pleaded for their help and told them that you wanted to be taught and join their group...

Read the book by Jon Krakauer "Under the Banner of Heaven" for a complete and frightening history of the mormons. I started taking a detour to work so I wouldnt even have to drive by a "temple" after reading this. I especially like how you can "buy" your dead relatives a safety pass to heaven, just in case they weren't mormon...

The Mormons I have met are the nicest young men I have ever met in my life! I do not agree with their teachings, but strange enough, neither do most of the members I met. I think they're doing their best to live decent lives, just like the rest of us, and raise their kids with values. A lot of the ones I know relocated to the suburbs and the country for this purpose. They're a little different, but definitely give up a lot to spread the word. This includes coffee. I'm really not sure why I would have to do that in order to get baptized, but hey. It's not for me, but I still talk to the missionaries and attend their fun events for children. They are definitely all about family. I just don't like the idea of people in South America mutating from people of semetic descent to what they are now, and their prophet calling them cursed by God because they were brown.

Here in South Africa we also have the Mormons, must be queers, never see women.I allow them in, then let my pit bulls out in the yard, after i have given them coffee and allowed them tp try persuade me about Joe.I then excuse myself and ask if they will forgive me if i don't see them out, i open the door and bid them farewell, we have a large yard.I can hear the screams as they forget their bicycles and sprint for the gates.

To Mesquite, Nevada Resident, Im not going to be rude im just commenting on your comment.
Not all mormons in Utah are like that, it is only the people who live on the other side of the mountain who (as we all know) fundamentals. We are the same as them but they still believe in the olden day commandments, yes I will admit their olden days they were commanded by god our father to have as many children. It seems sicking but we stopped this long ago, they were commanded to stop but the other people as in their families "blood" didnt want to stop so basically they did not followed the commandments. So in conclusion they are so not the same but no not all mormons in Utah are like that. Our prophet President Monson does not do polygamy. But the FLDS still do that, we dont stop them because its just their way of "culture". But to Sweetsage 2 its okay if you dont believe in my religion.

Hey shoes! I know all about that game. Been there, done that! Did that for many years, and finally woke up to the fact that I have motivation and a desire to do more with my life than sit around getting dumb and eating chips or whatever else is around. Do I miss it? Certain parts, but I want to be a strong example to those around me and a good provider for my family, and it is really hard when blowing $100 every 2 weeks for an Oz. Just don't worry about where that money is better spent. Your kids or helping someone else out. I am not ignorant, you pompous ###. I know that game all too well. I was merely opining about a previous posting. LAME!

Being a veteran of living in Provo Utah as non LDS I can tell you allot about them. They practice Muslim Sharia law there. If you are not one of them you are treated with as 2nd class citizen with social and financial penalty. I have lived in the southeast where it is primarily Baptist and in the northeast where it is mostly Jewish or Catholic. Nothing could have prepared me for the lizards in Provo. Nasty people that rule with an iron fist. Anything non LDS is immediately attacked and forced out with every other reason but the truth. When they tell you you cannot have a coffee pot in your office it is because "it just makes such a mess" and never the true reason of their interpretation of "the word of wisdom". You are best to just stay away from them and stand your ground as a non believer. Let them know they are trespassing when they come to your door. Another example of how they manipulate things is how physical polygamy is not practiced due to US law, however a Woman cannot get a "temple divorce" there but a Man can. This means a Man can have 5 or 6 legal divorces but still be "sealed" to all the Women according to the temple resulting in a mental or spiritual polygamy. See how they are? The stitching in their "garments" (their underwear) symbolizes where the cuts of a knife are supposed to be and in what shape if they violate their "blood oaths". Fundamentalist Dan Lafferty can tell you all about that from his Utah State Prison cell as he is in there for executing his Sister in Law after her infidelity to his Brother. They also have conveniently removed The Mountain Meadows Massacre from the Utah State History curriculum in public schools to try to bury that story 120 years after the fact. Then there are the bombings that took place in front of peoples apartments in SLC in 1983 to keep a Joe Smith document that had been uncovered from coming to light that would have unraveled the entire LDS organization. Yeah their lovely, aren't they? Just stay away from them and make sure they stay away from you.

Ganja is just a distraction, like a magicians smoke and mirrors. Easy you burn one down, and your life ends up in tears. The days go by so "blazingly" slow, but the years move on, you ask "where did they go". There will always be a reason or excuse, but a clear mind is really the best use, of our GOD given talents and abilities. Anomolies are O.K., but they shouldn't be the norm, give it up for the word of wisdom, strength is what it helps us form.

Let me start by saying that I love the way you expressed an opposing opinion. Ithas to be the cleanest, most well expressed that I have seen on this site. I too, am struggling. This economy has cost me my job of 30 years. I have been luky to this date now to have to ask for help.
What I was trying to say is that if she and the children were being abused, she was probably desperate for help, as any mother would be. Yes, she did take the help offered by the church. I don't know about all religions, only my own church. My church reaches out and helps people with no expectations. Yes, people are invited to visit or even become members but nobody is ever harrased. I do agree that she should consider attending a church because the benefits can be great. However, if she does not feel comfortable with the practices of that particular church or even that particular religion, she should not be required or even expected to attend. What would that benefit her or the members? What about the cousin? Were they not that close? I would know if my cousin would be suited as a member of my church. Of course, I come from a very close family. But again, my church would help my cousin with no expectations.

I am new to this site and have been looking around at diff. complaints so that I am more well informed about things that I may consider in the future. Of course, I was curious about the diff. areas such as worst rated and so on. Somehow this post caught my attention. Unless you have been a victim of abuse, you would not understand this lady reaching out wherever she could for help. I don't blame her at all. I do believe that there are religions that do involve weird practices (such as drugging & other things). I do know that there are religions that will not stop visiting you trying to get you to follow their beliefs. Hey..that is what is taught in alot of religions. I don't think that this lady "used" the church. She was told that they would help her. At least that is what I got out of it. I do know that in the posts that I have read, the same few names show up making nasty comments calling them names and using profanity. That is just sad. Attack me if you will but I will not respond. Good luck to this lady and her children.

Wow. A single complaint starts a whole war. 17 pages worth nontheless. I happen to be a member of said church, and we are not pedophiles, the leaders don't get paid like most places, they all have jobs. The main leaders only get paid room and board as well as food. You are all so quick to complain about something you think was wrongly done to you, but you should honestly look at yourself first. You needed help, you got it. You don't like it? perhaps you should have not even bothered. The water is simply that...water. Nothing else. Instead of complaining about every little thing and having a nice little war of comments, you guys should really just get on with whatever it is you have to get on with in your life. If this seems rude, I honestly mean nothing by it. But look at yourselves first before pointing the finger and going along with false pretences for once.

Alright, this is stupid. One complaint starts a wholr danged war. I happen to be Mormon, and we are not a cult, no one gets paid and they all have jobs. No one was used, it was just a misunderstanding and the people involved need to stop complaining about hospitality and get on with whatever is in their life to get on with. If you don't like it, so be it. But that's basically what needs to happen here. For people to use good judgement and be sensible.

Oh Xeno: and might I add that you got your degree in "Mass Comm."? The easiest degree to get, the one with the least amount of work/effort. I have looked into it and have talked to other mass comm students. Maybe this is why you seem to have a "full knowledge". Yet you only check a few "websites". I am willing to bet that you didn't answer all of those questions i mentioned last night before you formed a conclusion, did you? You got just what you wanted and then were satisfied with your "research" of listening to other peoples opinions and your resources (which have never been cited, so I assume that they are incorrect or only half-way accurate at best). Yes, I have checked this stuff out also, both church approved and non-member written material . I know what I am talking about. What else do you want to talk about? With Love...

Well, it appears that you have a vendetta against the church, because out of the blue you post antagonistic comments. Why seek such negative actions? I don't get you. Most true active members of the church will do more good for this world than a major part of society. So, why be so attacking of them? And yes there have been mistakes made. But, the church has acknowledged them and is finding a way to reconcile them. The principles are true, but the church is still ran by mankind, which then makes it prone to error. It doesn't matter who you are, you are going to make mistakes. As soon as you are perfect, than you can "cast the first stone". Until then, lay off.

Xeno: Why do you spread this? Unless you were there to know all of the details involved, you are a biased bigot! Yes, everyone, google everything. Question who Xeno's resources are: mormonzietgiest? That site is ran by another bigot! Way to be part of the problem! I believe in doing your homework, but when you only post one side of a story, well, that isn't very good reporting, UNLESS you are biased to one side. Report ALL the facts possible, THEN let the people decide. I hope you are smart enough to realize that there were major fears and motives for what happened back then. Question yourself WHY did that massacre happen, WHO was involved, WHAT was the driving force behind the reasoning, WHERE were problems for the mormons coming from (The attacks of bigots and taking of their lands, pushing them off of it, killing them), WHEN did they have enough of being pushed around? Before forming judgement, consider some of these questions.

Anyway in response to this lady, I grew up Mormon and am now just non-denominational Christian. I used to prepare the sacrament and to think there was a tranquilizer in the water is hilarious. So I thank you for that good chuckle today. Also, all Christian churches request tithing and money or how else would they even exist? Oh, and yes Mormons are Christian because they believe Jesus died on the cross for their sins and is their savior, that's the definition of a Christian, end of discussion. But honey you should have never had this church relocate you and your children on their nickel if all you were going to do is bash them? Who raised you anyways? The level on ingratitude is amazing.

XENO: subterfuge? Naysayer is more like it. I see your agenda. Try and dismantle a persons belief in something. At least they have something to believe in!

Nay-sayers will always grab on to something to scoff at! what is the point of this thread? I believe what I believe, and you naysayers believe something else. Go twist some other facts about groups that do good, and come back! May you all get a little "Love" in your life!
