Company information:

I also have been a victim of Model Productions...At first everything went smooth with the auditions as you know Ive been chosen to go to the next level. I found it strange that I had to pay a fee of $150.00 the same day I have been selected. Then when I found out that it was some type of scam I tried to get my money back even though the print out says no refund. The employer couldnt give me a good enough reason to why I couldnt get my money back, they gave me the ran around and asked me questions like... why dont you like your pictures? what wrong with them? They basically told me that a employer would have to find something wrong with my pictures over my judgement which made no sense at all... I know what I do and dont like how would the choice be up to a total stranger?..I came to the conclusion that there was no way I could get my money back so I just let it go which I hated to do hopefully they will get caught for their criminal actions.

This is a total rip off. My daughter and I got a call from a person saying " This is Allison, from Pierre Bossier Mall, Your daughter has been chosen from several contestants to compete in a model competition. Her application was very impressive, and our Director is really interested in shooting her for JCPenney type commercials, adds, etc. I need you to be here tomorrow, you can choose between two appts. 6:00 or 7:30." I chose the six o clock. She missed school. We shopped for a "trendy" outfit, spent the whole day preparing, and when we got to the audition, it was pathetic. They had old, fat chicks on stage, embarrassing the heck out of themselves, and this cheesy little girl, representing the "modeling industry". The audition was open to anyone who wanted to enter in the mall. 1st REDFLAG went off. Numerous flags after that. Not letting my daughter know, I was there for her, but could not wait to get home to investigate this so called scout agency. After the runway "audition", my daughter was "Chosen" to advance to the next step. Free T-shirt and 3 payments of 90.00 dollars later for the so called portfolio, I started doing my homework. 500.00 later, after shopping spree, makeup and the 1st payment for the portfolio, I did not sleep all night. I was SCAMMED!!! and my daughter was now going to have to suffer the devastation when she came home from school. DO NOT FALL FOR THIS!!! I called the mall and the BBB and all they told me is services were rendered, report considered, but they are on the line of breaking the law. THE LINE!!!???? WTH. They represented themselves as a mall employee, JCPENNEY representative, took my money, and they are on the line??? I am writing this with hopes to save some of you the time and effort. I will not stop until I see this exposed for what it is...and by the way...Oprah has nothing to do with SCAM...it too is nothing but a bogus video that they edited to appear to be real...

Thank You,
Pam

I entered my daughter in the contest last year and she won a contact. I was so pleased with everything until after she won the contact. I received the nicest e-mail from someone at the company that said that she was my personal contact and she would be there to help with whatever she could. They referred me to a printing company were I spent another $170 on cards to be printed and I was not pleased at all with the printing company. They lost my order, then there machines were messed up, and they kept coming up with excuses why I had not got my cards. Then when I finally received my cards they were the worst quality I could have done them myself. Then I was told to send some of the cards in to Model Productions with my signed contact (which was only a little page of writing) not a professional contact at all but hey I had already spent the money why not give it a try. I have never heard from these people again I can never get anyone on the phone and the girl that was supposed to help with through the whole process has never responded to any of my e-mails or anything. I have not been able to get my daughter any of the jobs that were posted on the board because they hardly ever have anything for modeling (which is what she won her contact for) it is all acting and it is usually just for extras (which anyone can do that without a contact) And the couple times in the last year that they have had something that she can actually do it was posted a day or 2 before you were supposed to be somewhere (no where near where you live) for the auditions. who can up and leave a with a days notice. And I was told that you could audition over the internet so you would not have to travel unless you got picked for the part and I have not seen them offer this for any of these. I have not even got her not one job and I have not used not one of those cards that cost me $170. Scam or not this is not how you run a company. They don't do any of the work they expect you to do everything yourself. A real agency is supposed to book jobs for you and call you to let you know about jobs that fit you and your talent. They have not once ever contacted me and if they really wanted my daughter they would have called at least to see why we have not book any jobs. You would think they would want you to make them money right!!! I thought this was the best thing ever and I won't call it a scam but I will say DON'T DO IT!!!

My son, who is 2, was in the 9/26/09 talent and runway competition in New Orleans . I am still awaiting a response. I stumbled upon this site during a rather late search for the validity of this company. I have found nothing about them on the BBB website and most of the areas on the American mall model productions website is not functional. I am getting concerned because, like someone else, there is something wrong with my photo cd and that is what I paid for. What is also alarming is that, aside from going to the mall and waiting for them to show up, you have no way of contacting them. Now I was not confused about what I was paying for, the pictures. With that said if something comes up where I do not get them, I will get my money back or I will organize a protest, file a complaint with the BBB, or whatever I need to do. Because, as some else stated $150 is a lot to the average individual. This is not to bad mouth the company but it is poorly operated and I had a bad feeling immediately after the first day because the company has NO contact information but I figured what the heck at least I was going to get more professional pics of my baby. I hope my situation can be reconciled by me receiving the actual professional photos I paid for cause yes can get professional photos from somewhere else at the same price or better. I hope the negative things I am finding prove to be a lie.

Hi my name is Andrea Mcfadden and I personally know when God is sending me somewhere. I do not choose to cut the people down nor the critics. Everyone is entitled to there opinion. However, the reality is that Model Productions has been around for close to 30 years, they deserve some recognition and praise. They selected a business model that would help the average individual get discover. Just like the reader above stated, that if you feel something is a scam then do your homework first and pray about it for direction. This is a reputable company and anyone who feels differently needs to rely on the old saying that your mother taught us a children"if you don't have anything nice to to say dont say anything at all." Dont be a part of the problem become a solution." There are enough compainers in this world. It is hard enough being a entrepenuer without everyone jumping all over you and trying to kill your company name. I entered myself, my daughter, and my friend and it has been a wonderful experience for us. I would not change it for the world. Just live a little people if it is meant to be then it will happen. STOP Passing judgement. SORRY IF THE EXPERIENCE WAS NOT ALL YOU WANTED IT TO BE...Hopefully, God will send you where it is meant to happen for you. Next time include God in your decision making process.

Thank you Model Productions for the opportunity.

Signed,

Andrea

i am currently an intern with model productions at the american mall model search. so far i have paid a very small ammount and have reicieved 3 amazing photo shoots (which would cost at least 500 to 700 dollars from other photography companies that dont even give you and audition into an agency). the people i am working with are the nicest most honest men and women i have ever met. i have gained great friendships, a super photoshoot and something spectacular to write on my college resume (interning). though the finals havent happened yet, and i dont know what is yet to come, what i have seen and expirienced has been enough already. of course i hope to get contracted and get some jobs in movies, modeling, music videos, magazines or any of that but they are 'A' ranked on the better business bureau. it is clear to see that the nasty comments and rumors of model productions being a "scam" are written by those who havent gotten jobs (because they were not right for the parts they were auditioning for!!) the auditions model productions will give you after you have been contracted are private and you must have a contract to get into them, so they are not pulled from other sites and are not things that just anyone can walk in from the streets to. these are professionals and they know what they are doing. i am disappointed to read these comments because they discourage people from following their dreams of trying to become known in the modeling buisness. the american mall model search is a great way for anyone to get discovered because it gives people of all ages, gender, ethnicity, shape and size to have at chance at fame. fame is never promised but a 20% chance from each age group is garunteed to get contracted. i will stop rambeling on but these spiteful comments upsetted me because this is something i am passionate about and want a future in acting/modeling and know that this company may be my gateway to that. please keep and open mind about model productions and what they are about because they dont judge, discriminate, or scam anyone for their money.
with love,
k.steele, current intern for model productions in the massachusetts amms.

i could understand what bill was saying about "giving people the chance to perform and model on stage that they wouldve never got otherwise" and that would be fine if they actually TOLD IT 2 US STRAIGHT UP LIKE THAT. the way they make it seem is that u may or may not make it 2 the finals and if u do make it and win the contract "all ur modeling dreams will come true". and also at the auditions they didnt mention ANYTHING about having to pay any fees until after i had already made it past the 1st round, so i just looked at the intern girl saying "wowwwww" and walked away... i was sorta expecting this thing 2 b a scam cuz it sounded just a lil TOO good with everything they were promising. and i became even more wary wen they announced the winners, many of whom had messed up at some point during the audition thing. almost every1 made it too an there were a few who didnt make it and asked the "judge" lady why they didnt make it an were answered with "o there was sum sort or mistake u were supposed 2 have made it" and then were awarded with a pass 2 the finals...
i work at the mall and from time 2 time i walk past the model productions stage that has been set up there 4 well over a month and i feel bad every time i see parents standing off to the side looking so excited as their little kids get their "proffesional" pictures taken (by the same guy who mc's the whole thing on a white backdrop with the lights turned off...). i feel so bad 4 those people thinking theyre actually gonna get sumthin 4 their money wen really theyre just getting scammed... occasionally wen i pass by the lil stands where u sign up i write SCAM on all the top pieces of paper on the notepad and turn the tv off, the 1 showing the same finals video that they show u. o and i also take the ink outta the pens and throw it in the slots where u put the entry papers so no1 else can sign up :)
model productions is nothing but a scam... and if ur fine w payin a hundred and 50 damn dollars 4 a few pics u could take on ur own an a whack t shirt u couldnt really where any1 where else in public then go rite ahead an throw ur money away. but ima b warned... if they were really a legit company theyd give u truth straight up

I just recently did this model production thing. unfortunately after ive paid my money. i havent gone to the talent part just yet. and ill be damned if im going to sign contract. Model Productions workers only use FIRST NAMES. as i had to come here just to find out bills last name. Which his statement if I may add is bull shit. I dont see what him being in the military has to do with the topic of his company. Sorry no sympathy from this military brat. It was strange that EVERYONE made the cut. and that the interns that work there can only give customers their "stage name" and the interns there have no experience with the company but portray as if they do. They took my money so fast and all in 1 payment. as the brocure said it will take it in 3 easy payments. each day I show for each part. No the bitch went ahead and marked 150 on my card. They have fake business cards. They are a scouting company who portrays themselves as people who are searching for talent and making you a star. which is bull shit. because half the people i seen try out i would NEVER pass them to the next round. I mean they have my money now. All im goin to say is when I pick up my photos. There better not be any dissapearing photos or this company will be a dissapearing act as well. They are going down. and i co-sign ill be the one to do it. Every person meets their match and Model productions has met theres today.

NO COMPANY IS SUPPOSE TO CHARGE YOU FOR ANYTHING IN THIS LINE OF WORK. YOUR TALENT PAYS THE WAY.

Oh...one more thing. We like natural beauty, but we also like makeup. High Fashion is no exception. You've never seen a high fashion model completely bare faced. So ma'am--THAT is why the paper thingy? said what it did about make-up. Just so you know.

It is NOT a scam. You are paying $150 for PICTURES only. You are NOT paying for a contract, or to compete in the competition. No person in their right mind is going to make you a portfolio for FREE! (unless its your uncle Joe at his makeshift studio) I see people saying.."other modeling agencies would do this, and that" and talking about what is supposed to happen in modeling industry. I just cant help but laugh. You people do NOT know what you're talking about. There isnt an agency on this planet that would take you on completely free. Not Next, IMG, Womens, Ford, etc. How else could they afford to stay in business?! Use your real common sense folks. Granted, some employees of Model Productions may be misinformed about what their company policy is, but I've seen the SOP book, and read it in its entirety. They are no "scam." They see over 200, 000 people a year. The 20 complaints I see here on this sight is PHENOMINAL for the amount of people they enounter. The only downfall is that no one is ever willing to write positive things on the internet. You are only motivated in your anger and ignorance to post ugly things about this company. Nothing in life is free, NO, not even modeling! I've been in this business tooooo long to let everyone talk trash about it. I dont work for Model Productions- infact, they are a competitor of mine. But its important that in this world of chaos and evil, we stay true to what's important. Why dont we start a complaint about the National Government?! You want to talk about people stealing your money? Walk to the ghetto in your neighborhood and talk trash to THEM. Welfair is stealing YOUR money. Not modeling agencies. Olan Mills, Picture People, JCPenney...they all charge way more than $150 for pictures. Are we going to complain about them also? Just bite the bullet and learn your stuff before you go beating down a hard working family's life dream. Answer this please, and then Im done: Would the mall management companies REALLY let these people in if they were so terrible? No. Come one, I believe the mall management over a pissed off customer. They are a fine company and if my daughter werent already with MY agency, I would surely take her to MODEL PRODUCTIONS!

They are so scammers, I got the call last thursday and they said that the audition was at the mall the very next day on Friday which I though was really strange and then when we got there they said that we have to make three payments of 50$ and you had to pay 50$ right there up front and I though that part was very strange. And the most strangest part was that they just told everyone line up without at least taking there names and or numbers in the order that they were in and just told them to say the thing walk the runway and pose three times and the "judge" just stood at the end of the runway and PRETENDED to be writing.Me and my mom just left because we started getting suspicious. So basically they are unorganized and scammers and they do it in an unprofessional manner and on the paper thingy they gave us it said that a weakness was if you have very little make-up, I went natural because that's would would have to occur in high fashion so i had to go to the restroom and put on my face(I were a lot of make-up), just so I can leave .Oh and the phone call I got just a day before the audition they didn't mention to get ready to pay 1 out of 3 payments of $50 or more (for more "poses") upfront. So basically it is a scam!

i was an intern at model productions and didnt have a clue what i was getting myself into. the directors came off as being very honest and genuine people until i statred working with them. i worked very hard for this company, running little errands here and there just to keep everything smooth and going and never got a genuine thank you. becoming an intern for this company is somewhat a regret because the family that started this company are all non educated people that just want your money. as an intern i learned all the little nasty secrets that they had in order to get all the income they could get. they will even pass people that in their own eyes they would never pick if it wasnt for money. DONT EVER EVER BE A VICTIM OF MODEL PRODUCTIONS I WILL ASSURE YOU THAT YOU WILL BE DISAPPOINTED!!! PLEASE SAVE YOURSELF!!! i know bc i worked for them!

As the ex of someone who used to work for this company, there are plenty of negative things I could say about it. But this particular complaint is just stupid. You couldn't get "a good reason" why you couldn't get your money back, when it was clear from the start there are no refunds? You're paying for an experience . You know what you're getting ahead of time - and what you're not. There is nothing criminal about that.

Don't do it. I'm a Christian too and I can tell you Model Productions is a scam. If you had plucked down the 150.00 for the 'photo shoot', they then would have supplied you with out of date contacts in order for you to contact for a 'modeling career'. (I know because this happened to a friend of mine.) Real modeling agencies will not require money until after your girls got paid ...not before. Please don't give them any money. God does not want you to be foolish with your money.

The pictures were something a monkey could of snapped, wait a minute, they were snapped by a monkey. They had these little kids there helping them out and who were they i asked myself. I think they could of been victims themselves or willing participates. I did see many people walk away after being told about the money. That was not fair because they could of disgusted that over the phone during their first initial call. FastForward: When we received the great news that my kids had won, we were out excited. I said wait a minute, I wish I had gotten other people's name to see if we all had won. I started using my common sense as I begin to read elaborate fake contract. I could not allow myself to go any further. People who came to do their show after us were saying as I walked by that they believed it was a scam. Many people gave them the benefit of the doubt anyway. I'm mad as hell. I do not work and I am a full-time student. The person said in one of their comments that the children really wanted to do it. I think that's what got me. If they want you I do believe they will call you.

Hi there. Im 14 and in North Florida. Recently I went to my local mall and saw the Model Productions thing posted up in the dead center of the mall. It has been there for about a month, give or take a few days. So as a teenage girl, it has and will always be my dream to be an actress. I am a pretty girl and have had experience in plays before and there has never been a day that I have hoped soon my dream would come true.
So, anyways, I see this setup and I had been hearing that my friends had gotten excepted and my cousins too. Now...dont get me wrong, I love them, but they arent the hottest brownies in the oven. THAT WAS MY FIRST SIGN. So I thought...hey "mom can you please please please take me to the mall. this could be my big break!". My dreams were going to come true finally. I cried with happiness as my hopes rose higher and higher. I shouldve known:/ . So anyways, after tons of convincing, my mom took me to the mall and let me try out. First of all the workers DID NOT LOOK PROFESSIONAL. They were covered in tatoos and the clothing they were wearing, if not in "Model Productions Tee Shirts", looked as if they had gotten it from the thrift store. AND I AM NOT EXAGGERATING. But I was a girl who wanted her dream to come true...so i let it slide.
I sighned up...got on stage...and showed off my personality, looks, and dedication. Not ONCE when I was looking at the judge, did she look at my face. Sign TWO. Then as name after name after name was called for TV...I was not called. Then came modeling. I prayed for at least this. ONCE AGAIN...name after name after name after name was called until finally NUMBER 106 (ME) was called up there, but not before this really ugly girl (sorry to be judgemental but i was not the only one who thought so) got called up there. Her hair was greasy, her teeth were jacked up, and etc. The only reason she got called was because she smacked her butt IN FRONT OF EVERYONE. Even if she was chosen for her "personality"...I do not call that model behavior. That IS LOW CLASS WITH NO DIGNITY.
So anywho...I finally got chosen for modleing and they called us over to give us "the information" and such. When he did he explained that we needed to pay 150 to get our "PHOTOS" done and then we would MOST LIKELY BE GARUNTEED a spot in the competition between Miami and somewhere else. I thought, "HOW ON EARTH AM I SUPPOSED TO COME UP WITH 150 DOLLARS WHEN I CAN BARELY GET ALL OF MY SCHOOL CLOTHES", living with a wonderful single mom that is.
So then my aunt went to ask him about payments and such and this "BRODY" guy was getting impatient since we couldnt get the money to him that day. SCAM!! I mean seriously...any ture modeling company would expect pictures and no money at all if they really new what TALENT was. I was about to ry. My HOPES AND DREAMS of actually gertting a shot were crushed. Now, eerytime I look at TV or magazines...I know that can be me, but I JUST DONT KNOW HOW. :*(
Even if you do have the money in time...think about how long they have been there and multiply that by the amount of people they want 150 dollars from in 1 single day. Then take over half of that and multply that by 150.00. Thats how much money that they get and 70% OF THE PEOPLE THAT SIGN UP lose. Its alot of freaking money.
As much as I want to believe that it is true..and that my dreams could com e true, the thought of losing a 150.00 and being fooled would make me feel worse. They are good PEOPLE...meaning that they know exactly what to say to make you belive that they are legit.
And PEOPLE, they are to an EXTINT AND AND EXTINT ONLY. Just be careful and I wouldnt suggest you try their company. Two or three success stories out of a couple hundred thousand people is nothing. And if your kids are like me and REALLY HAVE A PASSION FOR THIS INDUSTRY, get them into local commercials or modeling and plays at their schools. In the mean time look for REAL AND LEGIT ANGECIES also. But hun...this isnt for them.
~AS A TEEN MYSELF, PLEASE, I BEG OF YOU, TAKE MY ADVICE. EVERYTHING I SAID IN HERE IS 100% TRUE AND NOT EXAGGERATED. HERE IS THE NUMBER TO "BRODY"...ONE OF THE GUYS WHO WANTED MINE AND YOUR MONEY. BE MY GUEST TO CALL HIM AND COMPLAIN.

I recieved a phonecall from the Model Productions Agency earlier today, and my sister also had tried out for it and she wanted to know if she got it too. So we called the number the lady gave us in the phone call and right as soon as we gave my sister's name they said she had also won the 1 year contract and it would be mailed to us soon, so now after reading most of these comments, we aren't sure if it is real or not.
