I also have been a victim of Model Productions...At first everything went smooth with the auditions as you know Ive been chosen to go to the next level. I found it strange that I had to pay a fee of $150.00 the same day I have been selected. Then when I found out that it was some type of scam I tried to get my money back even though the print out says no refund. The employer couldnt give me a good enough reason to why I couldnt get my money back, they gave me the ran around and asked me questions like... why dont you like your pictures? what wrong with them? They basically told me that a employer would have to find something wrong with my pictures over my judgement which made no sense at all... I know what I do and dont like how would the choice be up to a total stranger?..I came to the conclusion that there was no way I could get my money back so I just let it go which I hated to do hopefully they will get caught for their criminal actions.

I actually just got accepted by Model Productions and while I was there to get my pictures they had messed up the disk that mine was one. When I asked them about it they had me come back up there and get them the following day - again, they weren't there. So, on day three I again drive 45 minutes to get the pictures that I had paid $150 for and I sat there for an hour before I was even spoken to. And to make it worse, the pictures were not in great quality, I have taken better pictures in my bathroom mirror. So, I was up there six out of seven days of the week and I didn't get the quality I should have gotten. Plus, during the talent portion I didn't do well at all - I sang but I have serious stage fright and you couldn't hear a word I was saying. But somehow I still managed to be a contract winner. Another thing that bothered me was the fact that everyone that tried out made the cut. So, if you ever see a booth set up in your mall...RUN!!! It's nothing but a scam. I'm not accepting the contract, because I know that it's not worth all the time I put in and all the money I'm going to have to put in. They want you to buy your own cards and send them out YOURSELF. It's pretty much like they are throwing you in the ocean without a raft. So, if Model Productions - or any scouting agency from a mall - tries to get you to sign with them, don't do it. If you want to do modeling send your own personal pictures to a modeling company via mail. Don't pay a bunch of money for poor quality pictures and terrible service. Take your own pictures, or have someone take them for you, Google modeling agencies - or look them up on bbb.org - and send them that way. If modeling companies want you as a perspective model they will call you, but be sure to send a resume. Even if you have no experience, that's fine. Just be sure to get your look out there the best way - and the cheapest way - that you can.

Well I agree, They are nothing but SCAMMERS !!! they are in Sanford, Florida @ the seminole town Mall now & boy what a front they put up. Now what they do is as for $150 for pics in 1 outfit, $210 for 2 outfits & $270 for 3. They said in the little show they put on that a professional photographer would take the pictures, Well let me tell you it isnt a professional. It was the same guy that did all the talking on the stage telling you & blinding you about what was to come. Well my daughter insisted that she wanted to do this, Paid $210 out of her pocket, Got the crappiest picture taken...they were aweful !!! my Cat could take better pictures. So now what???? were suppose to go to there talent section with a million other people & no one gets anything. I want my money back How can I get it??? does anyone know??? These people should not be allowed to steal from people in this form, some one needs to do something about it quickly !!!

i was just at the modeling productions tryout today at my local mall. what i saw that was odd, was that everyone made the cut. the guy wanted me to pay 50 dollars as a deposit. im 17, and i told him i didnt have the money at all. he said id have to get it or else i couldnt do it. i knew it was a total scam, so when i went back to tell the guy i couldnt get the money, he said hed "sponsor" the first payment. but id have to make the other two payments. i said no thanks and he get very upset. he also wanted me to intern with him and basically work to promote model productions for free. its a total scam. dont sign with them. all they want is your money.

Well i was at the mall for the Modeling Productions it looked weird that they didn't tell me or any of the people that were there that we had to pay a fee so we just left and the most weird was the way they took the pics and it is scam which really sucks because other people fall for it. The odd thing to was that they didn't look like jugde to me because they just want to take your money im so glad that i left!!! So next time be careful when you seen a modeling thing at the mall!!!

They really are a scam, my daughter did really good over the whole thing but we never got anything back in the mail like they said we would. Then when I tried to email them it kept coming back "message not sent" so I finally tried the website and it did the disappearing act too, Save your money honey.

ugh they seriously do suck =P

i was actually dumb enough to do it n of course, as everyone else,
i won... so did my cousin, who didnt even show up for the talent part,
because her pictures were "that good" (well, they were actually)
so i bought the comp cards n all that stuff and wut sucks about it???

that the auditions on the website, were auditions u can find on the internet yourself >=/

AND now the website apparently doesnt work anymore!
wut kind of crap is that???

plus the contract was stupid too. even if u signed it, it made no difference... it just showed the guidlines of how their company works n ur not TECHNICALLY signed w/ them so it was just a peice of paper.

point is:
-they are a SCAM

positive side:
-u can use this experience as a test. if u really wanna go n do acting/modeling u should do this "talent search" to see if u really like it, if ur really cut out for this. if u are, then go find a REAL agency.

I worked for Model Productions and can with full 100% confidence say that they deliberately mislead their customers (or guests as they may say). However, the worst scam isn't what you see. The truth of the matter is that the owners of the company Bill Waldbueser, Carolyn Waldbueser, Doug Waldbueser, Lance Waldbueser, Danielle Waldbueser, Lisa Oats, Grace Waldbueser and Johnny Oats have deceived themselves. They truly think that they are doing the world and God a favor by fostering unethical and scammish business practices. Therefore, if I feel bad for anyone in this equation it is mostly for the owners who are trapped in LaLaLand. Fortunately, most everyone else has the ability to see the truth and will be able to escape their deceitful business.

Again, I know this stuff first hand. If you want to test it out just try and work with or for them, and in time the truth will be made known.

In my training with Model Productions I learned that the people who we knew had talent did have to pay a dime, because Model Productions knew that they would make some money off the jobs they could book for them. Everyone else (those of us who don't have talent) have to pay to go through the “Finals”, because the Model Productions owners know that the only way they can make a buck off the untalented folks is to charge them the photo shoot and "Finals" fees.

Granted Model Production will help you find work...and help you find work means they will copy paste audition dates from other websites to their website. Oh, and forget about them storing your records. They have no clue to who they have or haven't given a contract (with the exception of the truly talented folks who they don't charge fees). You know why they don't keep a database (paper or digital) of vast majority of their “models” it is because they know that there is a 99.99% chance of you making enough money in the modeling/talent industry that would matter. They got all the money they could from you when you went to the "Finals". Oh, but don’t you like the Model Productions T-shirt you received when you pre-registered for “Finals”. Wonderful memories!!!

There definitely needs to be some accountability for Modeling and Talent agencies.

Some things that would prove their worth (or worthlessness):
1) Find out what the average amount of money their models make throughout their contract with the agency.
2) Find out what the number of jobs the agency books for the average models per month.
3) Find out the average time is takes to breakeven on your initial investment with the agency. For example, if Model Productions charges you $150 to “win” (haha, “win” is a very loose word a Model Productions) a contract, ask your Talent Scout (I am laughing so hard, I might cry because they don’t scout talent they scout purses and wallets) how soon will you expect to book enough jobs to earn back the $150.

(Note: Keep in mind Model Productions and their staff is very crafty. When you ask them a question they typically will give at best, half-truths. Beware!!!)
At this point you are either:
A) Really glad you saw this post before you wasted your money.
B) Don’t know what to believe because your heart says “NO” and your body says “YES” (or vise versa)
C) Angry because you are a contractor/employee of Model Productions and your livelihood is being threatened.
D) Confused, because you are wondering (as the owner of Model Productions) what do I say in rebuttal. Actually, if you are a owner of Model Productions you will probably reply to the post under some alias and a write something from one of your supposed successful model’s perspective and you will write how great your experience was/is with Model Productions and that everything I am saying is a lie. Plus, I can dwindle down which Model Productions owner wrote it, since the response will most likely be poorly written. Bill and Carolyn went to college, therefore, they know spelling and grammar. Lisa, Doug, Lance, April, & Grace will never go to college – let alone high school – which means the response will mostly likely be from one of the Waldbueser children.

I look forward to seeing the responses I receive. Hope you were saved from the scam in advance.

Sincerely,

Modeling Talent Truth

Model Productions, as a company, was designed to be the “white hats” of the modeling and talent search industry. We provide an opportunity for almost anyone to show off their talent regardless of age, race, sex, and yes, physical appearance. The “Model Productions Experience” provides every contestant with an emotionally rewarding and educational stage experience in front of an audience which helps them develop a more positive self image and builds confidence and self esteem. Everyone is treated with the utmost of respect and given as much encouragement as times allows. I am Bill Waldbueser, Founder and President of Model Productions. I am retired as a lieutenant colonel from the US Army. I learned many years ago, as an officer for 21 years, that the direction and responsibility of any organization rests on the shoulders of the leader. That’s why I have chosen to address this young writer’s comments.

I was greeted this morning by an email from Mr. Model Talent Truth (MTT) challenging me to read his posting on this site. I have read it and will to shed some light on the issues he addressed.

First, I am addressing the accusations. Second, I will present our Business Philosophy that has resulted in two decades of satisfied and even elated customers. NOTE: We have only recently opened up a website for contestants and their families to write what “the Experience” meant to them. Please go to www.ModelProductionsTestimonials.com to read lots of uplifting reports by real people who experienced the process and who saw the value in our production. And lastly, I will address MTT’s judgmental remarks directed to degrade and cut down my family.

First, understand that since we have hired (and released) only people in their 20s, MTT has fewer years on earth, than I personally have in the modeling and talent industry. I can say “with 100% confidence” that Model Productions does not mislead anyone at any time. The mandatory, scripted introduction from the stage is supposed to be (if the show directors follow their audition script), “Ladies and Gentlemen, today’s audition is not designed as a competition between the contestants here today. We want every one of you to be able to participate in the final event. It is more like when you go to get your Driver’s License - it is ‘PASS’ or ‘FAIL and come back when you are better prepared.’ We are looking for you to display self confidence and poise. This elimination process is not a beauty pageant. We are grading your talent and personality not physical appearance. Now …..”

Secondly, I am continuing by including a letter I wrote to a person last year, who had questions about our business. As a graduate of West Point; the United States Military Academy, where the importance of honor and integrity is greatly valued, learned and practiced, I believe that “a good name is more valuable than much wealth.” This was my answer to him.

“Model Productions has been in business for over 25 years. We started our company because of our intense desire to be the "white hats" in the modeling industry. We are here for two reasons; to give people an opportunity to experience being a model in a fashion show and to help people get into the industry without having to pay an outlandish amount of money.

In the 1980s, just like today, there were numerous modeling schools, photographers, conventions, model searches, pageants, and pseudo-agencies that were telling people that "their companies" are the way to become a "rich and famous model or movie star." Often these individuals and other companies were charging at least $500, many charged over $1, 000, and some charged up to $10, 000 for their services.

After many years in the industry my wife, Carolyn, and I came to realize that becoming a hugely successful professional model was a "one in 10, 000 chance." But there is a place in the industry for almost anyone with the desire to be part of the business, whether it's in front of the camera, behind the scenes or building the scenes.

We also found that there are a whole lot of people; kids, teens and adults that wanted to test their skills or show off their talents on our stage. Very similar to the fact that every child that enjoys participating in little league sports doesn't become a pro baseball, football, or basketball player; the same is true in this business. Just like every child gymnast, teen skier or adult runner doesn't make it to the Olympics not every person with the desire becomes a real model. However, Model Productions gives everyone an opportunity to live out their dream on our stage for one day.

Model Productions gives everyone the opportunity to participate in an event that combines a model search, a photo shoot, and a pageant, all for only $150. The contestants receive a Model Search Winner's T-shirt, a CD of color pictures with the copyright release, and participation in a fun and exciting event.

Many of the contestants will, in the end, win the opportunity to go to our website for one year for free and find real modeling and acting auditions for professional jobs. This gives most contestants a one year extracurricular activity, where they get to go on auditions to further test their potential for the industry and learn about an industry they think they would like to someday be part of. Model Productions' value can be matched by no other company. There are many scams in our industry, but as you see, Model Productions cannot be included in that group.

Thank you, Sir, for your time expended to read this explanation. Please free to send it to anyone that needs this information. We are committed, as always, to continue providing the best product at a fair price.”

Lastly, as a father of 5, I want to address the “cut down” of my children in MTT’s supposedly “words to the wise/complaint/whatever.” Who judges a person’s worth by the years spent or not spent in “formal” schooling, or their spelling or grammar; and places their names on the internet, as people not as good as others? My wife and I raised our five children to value character, discipline, and hard work. I honestly care more about whether they are good husbands and wives, good fathers and mothers; loving, kind and personable human beings. I have always trained them that God doesn’t care about their job or profession or not even their SAT scores. Most readers will I’m sure agree the me.

I apologize for such a long letter, but the TRUTH needed to be told.

Respectfully,
Bill Waldbueser

first of all bill waldbueser, your full of it. and secondly, i went to the auditions, and i passed. they asked me to pay 50 bucks but of course i turned it down. 50 bucks to move onto the next round. secondly, you guys wanted me to work for you FOR FREE. im only 17 and you expected me to promote model productions, and for what? to get absolutley nothing in return. you guys scammed 150 dollars off my friend. but guess what they did??? they never returned any of her phone calls. they promised her auditions to movies, auditions for magazines. and after 150 she got absolutley nothing. they didnt even give her, her pictures that she took. "they were lost"

scammers.

Nice letter Bill. Especially like your inclusion of God and "our" United States Armed Forces for credibility. I can tell that you are your own favorite customer. A true entrepreneur infected by Napoleonism and only interested in one thing. Using people to get what you want!! We had a "interesting" time at our local mall tonight. It took me 4 seconds to realize that this was a SCAM. The fact that you have been doing this for 27 years, just means that it is a good SCAM. And believe it or not Bill, $150 is a lot of money to the common, hard-working, honest, citizen. Especially in today's economy. You are an embarrassment to the rest of the modeling industry and that is no small feat. Shame on you!!

In response to these accusations I would like to say that I received a contract with model productions. Yes I am a real person. $150 for a portfolio including copyright is a steal. This agency is not a school that charges you $1200 just to " train" and in my opinion that is a scam. I can say first hand in my audition there was no one that was promised "fame". What was explained was that I am paying for my pictures and pictures only. What I got in return is what I was promised, my pictures and copyright. They were in color and were of reasonable quality. My experience and I can only speak for myself was a fun and memorable one. I did confront the director with comments I read and the response I believed. I looked up some of the models / actors that credit model productions and there was nothing false about what was mentioned in the audition. I checked the better business bureau and found they actually have an "A" rating. I even found that young girls were scouted by model productions for the new Hannah Montana movie. In my research I found this is not a good source in finding the truth. Consider the source people. Do your home work guys before making comments. I did mine before my audition. Not just with Model productions but any agency you decide to go to. Good luck guys.

Sincerely, David

I work for Model Productions currently, and...they are the furthest thing from a "SCAM." Good grief people, if you think it is such a wicked company, then DONT AUDITION! Seriously, we will never make everyone happy- if we ever did, the government would probably hire us on to obtain World peace. But those of you that have had great experiences with our company, fantastic! Those of you that have not- I would be willing to bet my measly $350 a week pay check that it was something YOU did wrong. No one promises fame with Model Productions. We more or less just open the door and throw the ball on your court. Nothing in life is free----DUH! Im sorry that you think $150 is alot of money, but if you would rather mosey on down the road to another agency and refinance your house to pay for their services, then by all means...dont let the door hit you on the ass on the way out! Attitudes like you all have are EXACTLY the reasons you havent made it in the film/fashion industry. I love that our defenders have been so cordial in their rebuttles, but "nice" has never really been my style..this is a cut-throat industry ladies and gentlemen and allow me to bring you back down to Earth. We will be successful with or without your $150. We will still find models, we will still cast actors and actresses in films, and we will STILL continue to fight for Carolyn's genuine and authentic dream. That family (esp Bill and Carolyn), are the most pleasant and real group of people you will probably ever come in contact with. Reading your comments, I cant help but wonder what it is you people are expecting from Model Productions. If you dont like your pictures, tell us...we will retake them. It pisses me off because I have bent ass-backwards to help those that absolutely dont have the money for the photos and finals. We dont fire people because they put 3 sugars instead of 2 in our coffee; we fire people because they STEAL MONEY and SLEEP AROUND. What's shameful is that those same people are the ones who are trying to make US look bad. Those who are wondering, i am NOT a Waldbueser. I am a random employee who believes in fighting for what I believe in. I would be willing to put my entire life, literally, on the belief practices of Model Productions. We may not always get along on a corporate level, but when it comes down to the cold-hard-truth, I have to say whats true. So I said all that to say this...If you dont like Model Productions, I think it only fair that you send me an email with the name of the plumber or car wash YOU work for and let me research in great detail (which all of you have done) the nasty, filthy truth. We all provide services to patrons. Whether it is scouting talent or delivering pizzas, its still a public service. So...SHUT UP!

Respectfully,
B. Adams :-)

My 4 year old daugher just won a one year contract with Model Productions. No where does it say that you will be handed fame and fortune. She has worked hard practicing and auditioning and I have taken my time and worked hard with her. I have spents hours upon hours talking, calling, mailing, reading, and doing whatever it took to help her along the way. She has been offered 2 jobs. Model Productions never once asked for money, except for the photo shoot, which by the way was awesome. The guy was professional and the quality of the pictures are beyond great. Its not an easy road, and its not for people who just want to sit on the couch and expect the world to be handed to them. You have to work hard, just like a real job if you wanna make it.
All these people who say this is a scam are probably lazy people who want everything for nothing.

I took both of my girls age 12 and 9. They were very excited about being discovered they even prayed together before we left to go to the mall. Model Productions seemed legit at first and both my girls were chosen to go to the next competition down south, right after they were chosen they asked for money for photo shoots. Me and my husband work very hard and sacrifice alot just to pay our bills right now . 150.00 a piece for their photo or they could not move on. It's a real disappointment to me now i have to figure out a way to tell my girls they will not be able to move on. scam or no scam i don't know? I'm not taking the chance. If its Gods will for my girls to do this type of work then it will happen, but not with model productions.
