Micro Center / Micro Electronics repair service taking too long

Recently, my ASUS PC had a series of power failures, so I took it in for a repair. The desk guy said it would be done in 5-6 days, but it now has been 17 days since I took my PC in. The technician told us he started to work on it 10 days ago and the repair still isn't done. Has he been sucking his thumb for 10 hours a day, in the 9 work days the technician has "worked" on it?!? If all he has to do is replace a few parts, why has it taken 9 work days for him to do it? It should never take that long to get the service a customer needs. Not to mention that it has been nearly 3 weeks without my PC that I frequently use for school work, gaming, college applications, class scheduling, and YouTube video making.

Micro Center / Micro Electronics hanging up the phone on customer without provocation

I ordered a laptop on their website after 6 days without an update of what's happening with my order and not receiving the item, I called them. The lady who answered asked me for the order number then she hang on me after I gave her the number. I called back and another person answered and told me my order is being processed and he cannot give any more information. I asked to speak with a manager and he said he will put me through to a manager but came back after a long wait and said he spoke with a manager and he doesn't have any more information. Then I asked him to cancel the order, he immediately hanged up without saying a word! Very unprofessional.

Micro Center / Micro Electronics no help and worthless manager

This place has the worst service that I've ever encountered. All I wanted was some help buying a Windows product. The Service Desk at the front of the store said that they had no time to call a salesperson for me. When I got to the back of the store, there were 6 guys standing around doing nothing. The first guy I asked acted like I was bothering him. The second guy was just as annoyed. I asked for a manager and was told that he would know nothing. All he does is manage them. This was correct. The manager (Greg Zupan) was very rude, indifferent and uninformed. I asked for his boss' name. He told me to call the customer service number on the website and "have a nice day". I left my full cart of merchandise and left the store. I guess they are exceeding their sales goal.

Micro Center / Micro Electronics non existent customer service

I shop here somewhat regularly as they can have very good prices on some items and it is nice to buy things in a Brick and Mortal building instead of online. Customer service has been lacking the past few times I went, struggling to get help but today took the cake. I stood in the store at 11:15 AM until 11:35 AM, often by $1000+ laptops and even the highest end Macintoshes; employees on SEVERAL OCCASIONS walked right by me, did not notice me, did not greet me, and certainly did not inquire if I needed help with anything. I did; if it was on a shelf I would just get the item, but I need actual human help when it comes to getting something from the back like desktops and laptops. Well, after walking completely around the store looking a bit befuddled which should immediately alert an employee that someone needs help and even standing by a POS unit in the computer section for over 5 minutes, I gave up and left. Not a single soul who receives a paycheck from that company even acknowledged that I existed in the store. Trying not to speak in hyperbole but it is a challenge. THIS WAS THE SINGLE WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE HAD SHOPPING IN A STORE. THIS IS THE REASON PEOPLE BUY THINGS ONLINE. Well, screw you Microcenter. I will actually pay MORE for an item to know it did not profit this sorry excuse for a company. If they cared about customer service, there would be some way to complain. But only if you make a purchase, will you get a feedback email about it. No way to complain about a bad experience to the CEO or any other method. That is why I am doing it here. They do not really care, then fine. I will buy my $1500 laptop from an online reseller.

Micro Center / Micro Electronics bad retailer

I purchased a Asus laptop for my daughter in September 2012 and purchased the protection plan recommended by the associate in the Marietta store. My daughter was disconnecting her external mouse in December and the USB broke. I took the unit to the Duluth, Georgia store since it is closer to my house. When I presented the computer and the protection plan I was told, "This is not covered because you purchased the wrong protection plan. Your plan does not cover accidental damage." I explained that I purchased the plan recommended by the associate and reasoned that I could argue the damage was in some part poor quality and the computer is only 90 days old. He said "sorry" and asked if I wanted to pay for a repair. They gave me a $125 estimate to repair it. I decided to try to talk to the store manager. I found her on the phone and waited my turn. She told me that she was on hold and that I could talk. I got five words out of my mouth before she held up a finger and said, "hold on." She walked off, I waited between 5 and 10 minutes and never saw her again. So I never got the chance to see if we could reach a compromise. I took the computer to an independent repair store that I know does good work and has great customer service. The repair will be the same price, but I won't give my money to Micro Center on principle and will not shop there ever again. They don't stand behind their warranties, have junky stores and in many cases (like accessories) low quality products, a horrible purchase checkout system (always takes about 15 minutes), and employees who generally have bad attitudes. The guy who gave me the estimate talked to his co-worker as if he hated being asked a question and did this in front of me and other customers. To me, it is not about the money but how unpleasant it is to shop at their Atlanta stores. I would not recommend Micro Center at all and will never visit again.

Micro Center / Micro Electronics customer service

I called to inquire about a laptop, to see if they have any in stock. A lady answered and was very snippy, as if I was wasting her time. She told me she was going to transfer me, I let the phone ring for about 5-7 minutes. She picked up after the wait and said no one was going to answer, would I like to try to wait more? If no one was willing to help, why would I wait? Too bad for them, it was a $2000+ laptop. I'm going to Fry's electronic, same attitude, cheaper prices.

The prices listed at micro center are wholly fake. They have "mail in rebates" to list prices well below the market price, but the catch is that they never mail you your money back.

On 1/2/11 I purchased a ATI video card from the Micro Center store in Yonkers, NY. I was provide with the extra receipts to submit for a $20.00 rebate. The instructions on the receipt provided an offer code and directions to a web site (his.4myrebate.com). On 1/22/11 I went to the website but found the code and video card not listed. I called the Yonkers store and, after stating the problem to 5 people, I was transferred 4 times and disconnected by the 5th person. I called the store back and asked to speak to a manager. I was put on hold and 42 minutes later I gave up waiting.
The $20 rebate is not worth any more of my time. However, I will spend time talkin and blogging about my experience at the Micro Center

I have never experienced worse customer service in any store anywhere. All I wanted to do was to purchase a computer on my Micro Center account. When I tried to check out using my account number which I had previously done last December, I was informed that it would not work without the card. That would be just fine if anyone I dealt with there was professional and courteous; but from the manager, Chris, on down I was treated like a criminal by people who have no business being in any sort of customer service position. When the manager, Chris, is so poor at dealing with customers it is no wonder that the rest of the people are unprofessional and incompetent when it comes to customer service as well. The Micro Center website has no way to complain directly to anybody who might care. Perhaps the whole company promotes poor customer service as well. Stay away from the worst company I have ever dealt with.

They never pick up their phone ever. I've been a customer for three years and been trying to get someone to pick up my call to inquire before driving for an hour to get there but I never got lucky. Just bad customer service, their phone system is there for nothing.

Are you sure that the rebate was through Micro Center and not ATI? I've purchased a couple of ATI cards in the past and was directed to that same website you mention. Neither card was purchased through Micro Center (one was at Best Buy and the other was through newegg.com).

Micro Center / Micro Electronics bad csr

Purchased a laptop at check-out, CSR advised me that card was denied. Knowing there was more the enough funds to carry the purchase. Tried couple more times, with same result. So gave addition cards, same thing. When question about this she advised me my funds where the issue not the machine or cards. We then used my wife card that went though.
Once home I contacted my card holder which I was informed funds where remove from all accounts for the purchase price. That store would have to release funds back into my 3 accounts, that may take 7- 14 days. When trying to contact store got recordings saying " All representative are assisting other customer. Got this for 2 1/2 hours before being disconnected. So now have to drive 1 1/2 hours just to talk with the manager.
So when they tell you " your card is denied" check with you bank.
Funny how one bad episode can change your mind about ever doing business again there.

Micro Center / Micro Electronics very unefficient customer service

I have never felt so frustrate dealing with any customer service before. Dealing with Micro center is. I made an online order to purchase 2 printers used my citi virtual credit card. I have been contacted 3 times because they can't verify my billing address with citi. Every time, I have told them it is a virtual credit card, you will need to mention it when you contact the credit card company. After the 3rd call, I said I will contact my bank to see what the issue is. I talked to my bank and I was told as long as they tell the bank customer service people it is a virtual card, and provide the billing address, customer service will be able to tell if it is correct or not. I called micro center right back and giving them this information. Then I have never heard back. After more than a week, I was wondering what is going on, so I contacted them again. Nothing has been done since then. This is more than half a month since I placed the order. I am very unhappy with their service. If you have a choice to buy stuff from another place, don't go here!

Micro Center / Micro Electronics avoid them

I bought an OEM Samsung notebook drive from MicroCenter 1.5 years ago, with what was supposed to be a three-year warranty.

The drive failed. Samsung said it was a 'grey market OEM' that was not supposed to be sold in the U.S. I took the drive back to MicroCenter, but they refused to accept any responsibility or make any kind of refund or exchange.

Moral of the story: Do NOT buy OEM products from MicroCenter unless you like gambling.

Micro Center / Micro Electronics sold me a 7 years old game for $59

It is May 2011. I bought a game for my little kid at a Microcenter store in Westmont, IL. The game title is: Sim City 4 Rush Hour Deluxe for Mac. I looked at the price ($59), looked at the box (nice and shiny), asked the sales person if that is something I could present to my 5 year old kid - no problem he said. So I bought it. It turns out the game is about 7 years old and doesn't even match the resolution of a 3 year old iMac 24". That means everything in the game is kind of stretched to fill the screen. My Intel iMac goes at 1920x1200. I called the store and they wouldn't let me to return the game. Well, on one hand I should have been smarter and do a research beforehand, on the other hand I think I was taken advanatege of, as nobody mentioned that the game was made for a G5 Mac and therefore expects much older hardware. From my experience I must warn you to do a really good research online before you step into a Microcenter store. I don't think the approach they are taking is one of the good business practices.

- You could say it is my fault. Yet in the store I expect certain level of service. When I specifically ask the sales rep about the game, then I should get a straight information right there, so that I know whether or not it is something that is going to work for me. Obviously that's not happening in the stores nowadays. Next time I'll shop strictly on the internet. I'll save on taxes and the level of service is going to be the same, except no waiting in the line :-)

Micro Center / Micro Electronics bad experience

Wanted to get a good deal on a new Desktop and Monitor and was asked to check out Micro Center. Doing so I found a Desktop and Monitor, both "open box" items to a reduced price. Then trying to order online, the web page crashed, 2 times, so i called Support...after a eternety they told me to call the store directly. I did told them what i wanted and wanted to order/buy them, but they told me they could only hold them for me. Well picking it up the next day, the monitor was gone, so i had to get one at full online price. I then checked the technical desctiption sheet of the Computer a PowerSpec G159, and the box was supposed to have, Mouse, keybord, powercable and system, that was OK, it was in the box. However the Restore Disks (2), Nero burning Tool, User guide/manual, warrenty sheet, etc, was NOT in the box. So i called the store, and they said well u got a open box... I claimed there was nothing to indicate that there where things missing and even on the receit it say when u return items, manuals and everyting must be returned... this person did not show any sign of understanding. So I asked to talk to a manager. Well after being cut off the phoneline 3 times, i finally reached a manager, who claimed that the restore diske was never put in the boxes, and the Software in question was installed on the computer...well when i started the computer, i did NOT get any questions to create a restore disk or anything and the Software was NOT installed...
You Really need to work in your information skills!

Micro Center / Micro Electronics don't go there

Needed product for easter sunday. I was hoping to swing by pick up item and be on my way to visit family. the item was a clearance wieless keyboard. description said it was complete.
I have never been so angry...When the csr brought it out to me i handed him the money as I asked if I could open the package and check the item. he said sure. so as I was opening the box he proceded to check me out. I noticed that the wireless usb thing was missing. so I told him. he handed me the receipt and said I had to take it up in the returns dept. on the other side of the store. I asked him if he could just get one from another package and i could be on my way I told him my kids were in the car and I was in a hurry. he said no. so I go to the other side of the store and see a line of about 10 customers. I waited in that line for about 40 minutes. I was steeming.. I should not have been directed to the returns line because the item I purchased said it was complete. he should have called a manager over to correct the problem immediatley..
my wife and kids sat in the car for an hour. i was late to my gathering and was not able to take my kids to the beach like i promised. i will never set foot in that store again. and have already told people that i know who live in that area. about my ordeal.

Micro Center / Micro Electronics they sell garbage

When I purchased one of their sale items for example an external hard drive or network switch it has stopped working within a short period of time. The manufacture had gone out of business or was sold. They would not help with the warranty. Don't shop at micro center. They do not backup what they sell.in my opinion they do this to rip off the public.

First, turn off your capslock, it is the key on the left hand center side of the keyboard. Now that we got that out of the way, like all retailers Micro Center sells brand names and off-brand names and it is your job to decide weather a few extra bucks for a brand name is worth it. Do you go to Wal-Mart and buy ValuBrand butter and complain that it doesn't taste like Land-O-Lakes butter?

Micro Center / Micro Electronics no customer service

I bought a motherboard from them about 5 months ago. It has a 3 year warranty. When it went bad, I took it back to exchange it. They told me they have a 30 day exchange policy and that I should contact the manufacturer. The manufacturer told me to take it back to Microcenter. So now I have been ripped off twice. By the board manufacturer, and by Microcenter. Microcenter has no way to contact the main company. You are at the mercy of the store manager. As a result, I see no reason for me to ever shop at Microcenter again.

The warranty for the product is through the manufacturer, you know, the people who made it. You should have kept calling them to get them to enforce it. Of course they are going to try to send you to the store, that way they don't lose any money the store does. The store didn't make it and has no reason to give you a new one. If the manufacturer won't honor their warranty then contact your attorney general's office and see what they can do, otherwise don't buy that brand again.

Micro Center / Micro Electronics paid for no repair

To make a long story short, I took my computer in for repairs. It took them two weeks, and I got it back the way I brought it to them, not working. I took it to another computer store, in less than five minutes, it was working. The best part, no charge. Micro Center was threatening me to charge me more money to have it looked at a third time. I was very happy that I was able to find another computer repair shop. Never again will I take my computer to them for anything. If they cannot see the problem staring them in the face, they do not know what they are doing.

Micro Center / Micro Electronics return disaster

I walk in Micro Center in Marietta, Ga. Dec 24 to exchange a USB adapter but looked around to find a line or location for returns. I did not find one, so I stood in a long line to get to the Cashier about 20-25 minutes only to be told that returns are handled over there ? There where and she pointed to another line. I requested a manager, as the cashier had an attitude and when the manager came over, she advise that they are not trained to do returns and have to go over there, , , again pointing. I requested a store mamager and she pointed to the bottom of my receipt. I could have kept my 20-25 minutes if they had signs up pointing for returns and more plesant cashiers and managers. f you doent want toi work, there are many people who would love their jobs and make me feel like you want my repeat business. I finally get to "Over there" and wait in line another 20 minutes or so. I must agree that Alexander V. that handled my return did apologize for any problems that I may have experienced and will do what he could to get me out as fast as he could an dless than 3 min I was out of line and on my way. You know i told everyone comming in about their customer service and my job and my church and i have to go on Facebook and tweeter. I wish i had gotten that mamagers name and she was mean and rude and never should have treated like that. Put up some signs to guide your customers, especially when you know there are going to be returns.

Micro Center / Micro Electronics netbook purchse that was damaged

I purchased a Netbook from MicroCenter on 11-01-10 in Yonkers, NY. I drove home to my house in Milford, PA to turn on the computer and notice a small round spot on the screen. I bought the computer refurbished for $199 and was told by the salesperson that I had a 30 day warranty on the netbook(Acer Aspire One). When I returned the computer to MicroCenter, I was told that it has a crack in the LCD, and that it was considered physical damage and that they couldn't help me. I spoke with managers and was told that they couldn't do anything for me. As it stands now, they want me to pay $90 for a new screen, and $60 for labor($150 total). I only paid $199 for the netbook. Why can't anyone at MicroCenter help me? I spent $200 for a defective computer and MicroCenter wouldn't try to fix the problem. They just want more money. Crooks.

Micro Center / Micro Electronics advertisement not accurate

I just bought macbook pro from microcenter. According to the ad - http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml?product_id=0334909
It should have included the software, but when I bought the item.
I had to buy the iLife software separately and inside the box all there was a Macbook Pro, power cord and power adapter.
I just found out and im extremely disappointed called Microcenter and they say it's supposed to be like that.
Which is bogus and if I return the item I will be charged 15% stocking fee.

Micro Center / Micro Electronics this is a scam by microcenter or its refurbishing center

Microcenter in Patterson NJ is passing off non OEM 3rd party equipment as part of their "factory refurbished DS" product. I purchased the Nintendo DS for $79.99 and it was supposed to come with a wall charger from Nintendo. When I got home and plugged it into the wall it fell apart because the screws holding the recharger together were missing (had been removed and were not in the packaging)- It was only held together by friction. Careful inspection of the charger revealed it was made by "Nintondo" not Nintendo. I returned to the store (waiting in lines for 1 hour) for an exchange. The replacement was also from "Nintondo" and at that point I figured, "fine" it is refurbished as long as it works maybe I will be ok with a knockoff charger ... but when I finally returned home, the replacement does not recharge the DS at all. Benefit of the doubt has now expired - This is a scam by Microcenter or its refurbishing center. I loathe the idea of returning to the store for the 3rd time (they are far too busy - to be honest and find me a working product).

Obviously you don't know how retail stores operate, so I'll enlighten you. Companies like best buy, microcenter and circuit city DO NOT refurbish computers, tv's or DS's themselves. They buy those products from refurbishing companies. Why? If the buy them then they don't need to employ the staff and the warehouses to refurbish those items. Just take it back to the store and ask for a refund. And another thing, what the heck did you expect. IT'S A USED DS FOR GOD'S SAKE! You buy cheap and you get cheap.

Micro Center / Micro Electronics as a consumer, this was the worst experience ever

Do not buy a computer protection plan from Micro Center ! Rip Off! I purchased a desktop computer in August of 2008 and had a problem with it a year later. I called for help and was transferred around for TWO Hours and then they disconnected me. Then, I was told that my protection plan expired the month before. Really? I gathered my paper work and had purchased a THREE year plan; I still had TWO years left on it. Now, I had to go through the hassle of getting a new claim # etc. all over again. After running this time consuming gauntlet, yet again I was told it was a software problem and they couldn't help me. I took the computer elsewhere and found it it was the hard drive. As a consumer, this was the WORST experience ever! Save yourself the trouble and the money, DO NOT PURCHASE A PROTECTION PLAN FROM MICRO CENTER! HORRIBLE, THE ABSOLUTE WORST! SCAM and a RIPOFF!
