Does anyone know how I can get into contact with the execs regarding the Safeline Account Protection? Seems like it's just another rotten scam for good customers.
I have been paying for a service that does not help yet it almost penalizes you for having the protection.
I'm a great customer to Fingerhut. I always pay on time and never have I once defaulted on a bill. I was laid off in December of 2008 and since then I was receiving unemployment benefits. Since I was still able to pay my bill, I informed them that I was collecting benefits but will still be able to pay my debt. They had no problems with it, saying that if I could still be able to pay I would be alright. So much for being a good customer! I lost my unemployment benefits, and I know I'm going to have a hard time paying my bill. I try to activate the safe line protection, they sent me a letter, I sent them the paperwork required with a letter from the Department of labor stating that they cut me off.

I called today, July 8, to find out the status of the safe line proctection and they informed me that I will not be receiving the protection because I should've told them that I was receiving unemployment benefits in the first place (which I did) and I should've sent them the proof that I was receiving such benefits. Because at that point, they would've determined from the amount I was receiving, if I qualify to have my account put on hold for 6 months without making a payment. The woman on the phone proceeded to explain to me that had I made them aware of my circumstance, they would've sent me a letter to provide them with the proof of my loss of income and they would've determined if I qualified. You would think that if they were to see how much I was receiving, they would judge me to be able to pay, hence why, even though I did informed them and nothing was sent to me, I still continue to pay my bill. Again, so much for being a good customer. None of this, mind you, was explained to me by any living person when I first signed up for the protection. "It's in the pamphlet", is what I was told. A pamphlet that is long gone. They won't even give me credit for being a great customer. I intend to fight this. I need to get in contact with the executives at fingerhut which I know it John Schlundt. I need his email address. I'm sick of these bull crap credit card companies and their unfair practices. If anyone has any information, please contact me at [protected]@msn.com. Thanks in advance.

I think we have all had the same complaint(s). My plan is to contact the Attorney Generals office, and other consumer offices to file a complaint possibly taking this to the media. I plan to also notify an Attorney to discuss a class action!

I have been a customer of gettington since 2012 paid my bill on time a good customer I have an issue with gettington for having a company name safe line aligned with them knowing they were a rip off. I never noticed this company being on my billing statement until recently I began to notice my payments where not going down as fast as I was paying until November 2015 when I started to strutinize my statements. I went back six years and there they were safe line taking whatever they wanted, every month. I began to add all the money they took out I couldn't believe it was well over $1000.00 dollars. I called gettington enraged, I wanted my money back gettington told me they had nothing to do with safe line. I argued the point that it was their company allowing a dishonest company to do business with their company who was doing unlawful practices. I wanted my money back I wanted gettington to say we will have that money deposited back into your account instead they took the stand, we have nothing to do with that company, they said I would have to call safe line. I asked gettington s rep. Who owned the company no one know I kept calling back finally they said there was no number to contact anyone finally I was told there is an executive team that handles complains I have yet to speak to anyone. Gettington gave me safeline number they said I signed up for there services when I applied for gettington credit that I sseriously dont remember. What I have found out about safeline is if you are disabled you do don't qualify for their service I'm trying to figure out why I can't get my money back so finally I called the attorney generals office and they have been investigating safeline for the past few months. I hope once they finish there investigation that all the customer like me that have been caught up in the safeline scam will get back all the money they stole from us. If you have been caught up in this scam please comment I'm to angry to just role over. I should mention in January safeline gave back $57.00 dollars I took that as an admission of there guilt. Furious in Ohio.

I just had the same problem I was laid off for the summer, so safeline sent me the paper work to fill out and, stating for me to show proof from my employer that I am laid off and I needed to show proof that I did not receive any unemployment, because I cannot receive unemployment to qualify. I sent all the paper work they asked for and after I did that, I get a letter saying they received my letters but, since I do not get umemployment I do not qualify, I would have to get unemployment.. I said first I could not get unemployment to qualfiy for the safeline and Now you are saying I have to be getting unemployment. I told her to cancel the safeline from my Fingerhut because they are a rip-off.

What a rip off, I paid into this account for a few years and was a loyal customer to Fingerhut for 7 yrs. But I had lost my job back in January of 2013 and when I called them to see if they would pay my bills for me they said No cause I was working at a restaurant that was paying me under the table, I live in a small town with very little employment opportunities, so I guess that's my fault that they paid me under the table. They would not pay anything towards it. But yet I had the same protection plan on my credit card and they didn't ask anything of me and paid my bill for an entire year, no questions asked! This place is a scam and needs to be reported to the BBB

I am also a victim of this scam. They hooked me in last year for a computer I purchased last Christmas. I wasn't paying much attention except I noticed my balance was not going down very fast. I then called Fingerhut and asked that they remove this Safeline charge. They said I signed up for it and I know for a fact I did not. I was told it was taken off but I again noticed it was not stopped. They had also told me they would submit to customer service for a refund. Which of course I have never seen. Well I did not expect it but I lost my job. I informed them, since it was still active, that I was unemployed. After a month or so they sent me forms, I filled them out and mailed them back to them. Well I did not qualify for unemployment because I was terminated for tardies. I had a FMLA but employer did not include tardies. So I then received a letter stating because I didn't qualify for unemployment, I therefore did not qualify for their "protection". I worked for my employer for 18 years. I was so angry, I have been a very good customer for many years and this is how they treat me. I asked them to cancel it but it is still active. I talked to a representative and she gave me a phone number to call them. I then called the number and it was a medical company and NOT Safeline. I called back and got the representative. Informed her that the number she gave me was indeed an incorrect number. She said that was the only number she had. I asked for a better number or a manager. She said she can only notate my account and that I should email the company. I also mentioned to her that there are many complaints on the internet about them. I will write an email and even a letter to mail to them. What a CROC!

I have had similar problems. I was 100% disabled and was carrying protection and until Metabank took over Fingerhuts credit card the payments were made per agreement. Then came Metabank and I sent them all the information and disability statements of my paralysis and they said sorry, that doesn't qualify you. After paying for the protection I fully expect it to be accurate. Fingerhut transferred this to metabank and should have informed them of the disability but needless to say that with two substandard companies like these they coerced this so they would not have to cover it. I checked with the old company and they said that this was supposed to continue until which time I could return to work. What a rip off!
