Scam-false presentation of business
Complaint Rating: 96 % with 23 votes
Company information:
Economic Freedom Corporation
Norfolk, Virginia
United States
I wish I had found and read ALL of your comments, because I got sucked in to a similar sales pitch with a different company name, Economic Freedom Corporation with a customer service # 877-696-1975, but also out of Arizona. After doing some minimal research and finding even this site, (but not reading it in its entirety), they convinced me that there were companies out there scamming people using their business idea. As soon as I fell for it and had given my credit card info, it was too late. And by the time you figure out what kind of business you really are involved with, 24 hrs have passed. Besides, I couldn't get in touch with any one in their customer service department. The bank is of no help in trying to dispute the charge, as the burden of proof lies on you to produce an invoice or contract explaining what you purchased. They sent one which I received today. Please pass this information on to as many people as you know. They got me, but never again and what an expensive lesson The information you receive in the mail in no way supports what you are told on the phone. It is a SCAM- hang up and run.

The Better Business Bureau gives this business an 'F'
http://www.bbb.org/central-northern-western-arizona/business-reviews/business-opportunity-companies/the-economic-freedom-corporation-in-phoenix-az-1000012456/

Things you might consider:
Costco charges 1.48% + .20 per transaction.
As far as I know you can use their equipment anywhere (no 150 mile limitation)
Why the need to charge $495.00 to become a "Merchant Banker?" + you're charged $24.95 to maintain a "site."
And lastly: If it sounds too good to be true, it is.

Hi
I too received the call to become a merchant banker for a cost of $495 plus $24, 95 e monthto host my own website and have been investigating to see if I would like to join or not.
I have found a bit of negative info about this business but nobody actually says how they were scammed.
How are they scamming people?
Are they not delivering what they promise?
Do you not earn from placing the terminals?
Do you not earn the residual monthly checks from the terminals?
Exactly what is it they are doing?
I would like to find out because if this system works I would love to be a part of it, yet I cannot find enough info about it to figure whether it is a scam or not. Please let me know if anybody out there has more info on the Economic Freedom Corp regarding merchant banking. They have a good rating on the Online Business Bureau. Is this bureau a scam too???
Please e mail me: karenpauls1@msn.com
thank you

Economic Freedom Corp

I got called today. I asked for a simple hard copy of what their offer was, the levels you can purchase, how you get paid, etc and they could not / would not provide it.

Well, if it is what they say it is, it should be NO problem to provide this in writing. No writing = big SCAM, RUN AWAY.

Hope this helps someone else from being scammed.

I worked for this company under the most recent name of Economic Freedom Corportation. I was hired as a Walk Thru Consutant for the Web Page the Affiliates supposedly get for the Upfront mony they pay. In the time I worked there I was constantly recieving phone calls from people that had figured out that they had been scammed. It took me a while to figure out what was going on. I asked my Supervisor if this was a litgitimate company? She told me that the people that I was talking to were just suffering from Buyers Remorse. After time it was apparent that they were just scamming people for however much they could get out of them in a variety of ways. They have a lot of different depts that they shuffle people around and thru. This keeps them on the hook so long they look like disgruntled employees as well as a lot of other mal content types. The bottem line is they milk them for whatever they are worth. Then they double talk them until they get fed up. Then eventually change the name of the company and do it all over again. They were the Bank card empire that got raided in April. I will give you a lot more detail if you want to contact me. Email me with your Phone Number and I will call you. jdandreaman@live.com

My name is John Wilson. I worked for the “EFC” (Economic Freedom Corporation – AKA DW Scott, Bankcard Empire, and Innovative Marketing Strategies), and all the other names they call themselves. I quit after I realized the full extent of the deception they employ in their business practice. However, I was fortunate enough to learn a great deal of information about what procedures will effectively get unhappy client’s their money back. Although they will claim that the fee is not refundable, I have information regarding the laws & procedures that contradict that. I have been forced to look for work and have not secured another job to date. I spend a lot of time assisting people that have lost money to EFC in the best plan of action available for a partial if not full refund.
Because I also have bills I charge a small fee of 20.00 dollars. Check or money order to:

Re: EFC
Enclose a letter explaining the circumstances of your situation. I will send you a detailed plan of action immediately. Please include when your commitment with them began. and any particulars regarding what you were led to believe you were to get for your money. I have no need for any personal information just a brief out line so I can best direct your efforts. This is not a guarantee of a full refund of the money you lost to this company but I will give you the best shot I can with everything I know about their setup, and the methods they employ.
. If you lost hundreds or thousands to these people, It is worth 20- dollars to have the chance I can offer to get your money back. My information comes from the inside of their operation. Unlike EFC, I will not disappear, and I will always answer my phone, I will not ask you for another dime. I will coach you as far as reasonably possible and be available to coach you over the phone at any reasonable hour. I encourage you to call me and get to know me before committing your money or trust with me.
My procedure gets results. Give me a call @ 602-265-6674; let’s see if we can get your money back. They only get away with it, If you don’t fight back. John

In response to Mr. Wilson. I am with Economic Freedom Corp. and know that we are reputable company that works very hard to maintain a high standard in all our various ventures. Mr. Wilson is a disgruntled ex-employee who wish to slander our name and our business because he was let go. He will shortly be receiving a cease and desist letter from Economic Freedom Corp. And told to stop these preposterous allegations, or he may be facing a lawsuit on top of un-employment. He obviously is not very aware of the company to say we use "other names". Which might be a result of him losing his employment in our reputable establishment. Mr. Wilson also signed a confidentiality agreement to keep company data confidently. As a result of him being able to do that we have our lawyers writing up a lawsuit. If you do have concerns and questions that you would like addressed please feel free to call our customer service at 1-877-827-3507.

In response to EFC...BRING IT!

EFC will never take anyone to court because they cannot take the scrutiny. EFC goes to court and a lot of people that run that place will probably go to prison. So EFC, I am waiting. John

I agree and know the hard truth that this co. is a nest of snakes / scammers ... bait and switch artists!

I have been trying to get information on my acount and cannot even get thru on the 1-877-827-3507 number. I sit on hold forever and no one ever picks up. The answering tape says if I hit the star button I can leave a message. Nothing happens when I hit the star button. Was EFC really Bankcard Empire? Can anyone actually prove they are related? Any information would be appreciated.

My name is Thomas Carroll, I am disabled, quadriplegic, who was on a special plan with Social Security. That plan allowed me to accumulate some funds and seek employment. In October, 2010, . EFC, gave me their 82% success for my 50 mile radius on all persons signed up for the debt relief program and the card swipe machines. I put up $2500 and they provided a web site and maketed 2000 prospective clients per month, and would close 2% of the sales each month. One month into it they solicited 2000, but email addresses were duplicated and many not valid. They never came close to a complete sign up or sale. Since they had my money they began evasive phone tactics . Then started the neverending phone games with these people for months and months. Because I am on disability that money was a one time deal. I was fortunate to hook up with John Wilson, who is mentioned above. He gave me some great advice and I was finally getting close to a refund and then it would fail. John helped put some additional pressure and we were finally successful just recently. John Wilson had the integrity to quit when he found EFC was a scam, especially since there is no work! EFC recently branched out to the Bankcard Empire and have other alias. There is a corporate hub with off shoot entities, with different owners that are all praying on the general publics lack of employment. John took a lot of time and effort to help me and refused to accept a 10% gratuity from me. Thanks John, you can call me for verific ation 714 908-4247

Give me a call at 602-265-6674 if you have lost money to them. I now know more secrets than I did before. I am pretty sure if you do as I say, We can get your money back. John Wilson

John Wilson has more ethics in his little finger than the whole corporation. These are a nest of snakes in the desert...heartless, shamefull / shameless rip-off artists. These folks shift around the accountability like nothing you've ever seen. I've heard of 80 and 90 yr. old ladies and other trusting / good seniors and WWII veterans that have been victimized. A liar is a person who knows the truth and then tells another whatever they please to make a score / sale. Not that I know personally, but they do business like a drug deal gone bad! Promises of quanity and quality that is instantly worthless! And very sickening to MANY good folks.

YES, join up with this company and their buddies at Cornerstone Solutions aka Websites4America /F-marketing. Sell your family and friends on their systems...and you too will be despised by ALL.

This econ. slavery corp. is an abomination and as inhumane as it gets...and they know it. You will never once get a straight or honest answer...even if you are fortunate enough to get a robot employee on the phone or receive a call back. They do not follow through on any promise...and I imagine there is a secret moto at EFC = sociopaths unite here.

Yea, John W.

A couple of good places to report scam, and be sure to include websites4america along with EFC...

http://www.consumerfraudreporting.org/cfr.php?URL=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.state.hi.us/ag/index.html

and also did vote and comment on this site

I wonder just how many got ripped off?? I have a list of around 60, but know this is nation wide?? How can they keep it going? Latest was 200 bmw winners...actually earn $600./mo. to make the payment...and we know what happens after they sign someone up = NOTHING but run around grief...I sure hope it returns on them big time.

YES, I'm pretty sure they've gone to ground. Though they were telling me how few complaints, and that there are 1000's of happy customers...just a couple of days ago, and trying to re-sell me on their systems.

I am not positive, but EFC appears to be closed. The Phoenix postal inspector is starting an investigation and they told me it is associated w/ bankcard empire. The efc site is not coming on, and the one phone # I was getting to a person on is on constant busy or turned off? And another # is not in service. Both Phoenix and Las Vegas #'s are dis-connected.

Justin Johnson is the most rude idiot business man I've ever encountered ... the poster child for a criminal LIAR! John Hanson of Cornerstone acted nice, and says God Bless and all...but sorry guilt by association, and he did tell me to profit by hanging in for the long run, and fought my credit card dispute and won.

Just thought you should know. And keep the complaints going especially to the AZ. Att. Gen. and U.S. Postal inspector in AZ.

May I please keep my complaint against websites 4 america and cornerstone marketing solutions (as they are the ones my big $ went to aka F-marketing)? Though last I heard was EFC bought that co. from John Hanson...though so many stories that I can't verify was it true or not. They've not returned calls for over a month, but their sites are still on.

I guess this is beyond help? It is beyond outrageous that the government let this go on for so long with victims from over a year ago. Blessings to all injured by this inhumane rip-off! I know it is intentionally HURTFULL...!

I am fighting with a company in AZ called Merchant Freedom Network president Doug Garcia, that sounds exactly like this EFC co. They promise your money back if not satisfied, meanwhile wanting more of your investment in "leads" (they tell you that part after you have enrolled). Now when I don't want to be involved they say no refunds and have treated me rudely and unprofessionally, but I have yet to find anywhere in paperwork or website of a no refund policy. Sound familiar? Will fight it but I'm wondering if these companies are in cahoots!

Sorry to hear that Beths! Many really hurt like yourself and that's no comfort. Hard to believe govt. has let this go on for so long. Hundred or so off shoots of the bankcard empire the u.s. postal inspector fraud analyst told me.

Same story, but they make the big promises, pressure to sign a no guarantee contract...that is their loop hole...and pretend they know ot of the fraudulent sales pitches...of course they do. Did websites4america sell you the leads? Be sure to state their name also...though the proceedure is the co. has 3 or 4 oather co's they pass the accountability around to, and no phone calls returned...just a run around. EFC is now out of business, and someone said dba as my choice business services also in las vegas. I hope they can lock up these guys not just the boss as the employees know it is a fraud.

Best I can say is file complaint w/ BBB, Az. att. gen., and Postal Inspector in Az. The fraud analyst is Kathy Martinjak at 520-388-5315. She'll send complaint form to you for all info. you may have. Att. Gen. said they'd not do much except collect info. for maybe future actions?

good luck!

websites4america & economic freedom corp. John Hanson cornerstone mkt'g solutions ATTENTION ALL VICTIMS OF THE BIG SCAM! GO TO AZ. ATT. GEN. NOW ! Phoenix, Arizona. NOW is a very good time to make a report to Az. Attorney General, assistant Nancy Anger.

Victims unite as an llc. behind the name and changing names and co's, and never answering phones after robbing the good citizens nation wide MUST have serious consequences.

Thanks and keep posting!
