Menards employees

I was shopping in the Traverse City Menard's store yesterday, Thursday, 3/16/2017 between noon and 12:30 pm. I was in and out of most aisles as I was pricing a project.
As I passed by a portion of the tool dept. I noticed a young lady probably in her early twenties flirting with two male employees. What caught my attention was that she was in a similar situation when I had been in the strore a few weeks earlier.
As I shopped my trip took me to the edge of the mill work dept. where I picked up a small piece of Lexan, it was not priced. As there was no one to ask in the dept., I took it over to the tool dept. desk. Well, there in all her welcoming splendor was the young debutante from earlier entertaining yet another young suitor.
I made my presence known and the suitor merely looked at me. I asked if I could get a price for the Lexan. Obviously perturbed by my interruption, he nodded in a given direction and in a pissed off tone said, " There's a scanner right there."

Now maybe it's your policy to make sure everyone has ample socializing time with the sex of there choice. But the next time some punk does that to me he or she will be in a seizure on the floor.

Menards my front door

I've already sent you pics...done that been ther! If you notice in the pics I've enclosed, the window panel is upside down per one of your associates suggestions! BRILLIANCE! Please note my SARCASM! After my first complaint, I was sent the frame around the window! As you can see from the additional pics, the frame is not, nor has not been the issue! The frame is, and always has been intact! It IS THE WINDOW! It's like a pancake, TIME TO FLIP? LOL. Since you have NEVER stood by your product, we will be replacing ALL our Mastercraft doors...total of 5...and trust me, they won't be yours!

Menards damaged products, menards employees that do not care.

I special ordered a bath vanity on [protected], picked it up on [protected], got it home and unpacked it, the marble top was chipped on the corners and had a crack all the way across it. I took it back and ask for the manager, he was helping me until someone he knew came in and he worked with them before finishing with me. I told him that we had waited two weeks on this vanity and would appreciate if they could improve on the delivery time. Menards does not call or notify of when the orders come in. I bought drywall and the edges are damaged, the persons helping load the material operate the forklifts way too fast and rely on the customer too help load the material. The store is under construction and the help must think that you know right where to go and what their procedures are. Most of the problems are in the pickup annex to the store.

Menards doors/damaging truck

We ordered doors at your Menards store in Glendale Heights, IL and when we went to pick them up (supposedly they were inspected) the doors were damaged. The workers left it up to me to move doors and pick them up - were absolutely no help - (I pulled my back while doing this) the door fell over and damaged my truck and the insurance claims is refusing to cover my truck since they said I moved the doors - aren't the workers responsible for this.

The doors came in again and are once again not inspected and damaged! Noone at the store inspected these doors or assist in loading these into my vehicle.

Menards return store 3057

I bought 4 bails of blown in insulation and rented a machine drove 45 min back home hooked up machine there were no clamps to hold the hose on I got 1/4 of a bail in and the hose blew off filling my room with insulation I took the machine back they refunded the machine back on my card in which i'm still waiting for it to show up on my bank acct. and was told that because I wrote a check I had to wait 6 days it has ben 6 days now they tell me it is 7 days i just spent 4000 dollars there on appliances and if i have this much trouble getting MY MONEY BACK how much will i have getting them fixed i will definitely be shopping at lowes from now on and am debating weather to return fridge and stove and going to lowes for them as well

Menards hurt my son due to menard's negligence

My son was hurt badly when a door that was leaning with another door tripped and hit him on his forehead. He was with me. It was menards negligence. The doors were not secured right and it could have hurt anybody. Unfortunately it was my son, who has to deal with a big scar on his forehead all his life. I went to the store next week after the incident and found that they had secured the area nicely but that's too late. The bad scenario Menard isn't helping with the bills and ambulance costs that came with their neglegience. I called their insurer at [protected]. She said to pay it but never did so far. He was hurt on memorial day at menard, wyoming MI. I started getting letters from collections...too frustrating. Called too many times...Get your son hurt, hear them say that we will take care of it, and never in reality. Not a good customer handling service. Menards holiday time lights

I purchased 5 sets of indoor/outdoor chasing lights in which I lay on my grass for an added effect on my display. All 5 sets quit working after the first rain in which i took back and exchanged them. Sure enough the next rain had the same effect. Because I bought them in October and had the first problem a month later "3 days after putting them out" the next rain was after 30 days so they wouldn't take them back. The lights i used before was from Lowes and lasted me 10 years and 1 of the 5 finally quit working last year so I thought i would get new ones. Similarly 1 of the 3 $70 dollar outdoor trees has already quit as well. That's $120 that I wasted on these products. This is the first complaint I've ever written but my goodness, this is pathetic merchandise to say the least.

Menards returns

I purchased items on Tuesday, which included a case of anti-freeze in which you were only allowed to purchase 6 gallons, which is a case. Upon checking out we used a rebate for $33.00 with or purchase. When we left the store and proceeded home, which is 35 miles away, my wife noticed that we had been charge for two cases of ant-freeze, which is an extra $45.00. Our total after the rebate was still $148.00. We called the store and informed the manager of the problem and he stated to bring the receipt back in and get our refund from the mistake. On Thursday, I went back to the store for a refund, but was not refund the mistake, by the store. Instead I was forced to take the rebate slip for the $33.00 and $12.00 was put back on my card. I should have been given back the entire $45.00, because it was my money and not Menards, but I was forced to take the rebate for $33.00, so I would have to spend My money at Menards. This is not right, because the stores mistake was not my fault and I should be refunded my hard earned money to spend where I choose. This policy is not corredt and I should be given my total refund. I shop at Menards and consider it my favorite store, but my views are changing fast with these policies. I would like to have some type of response ASAP. With no response I will not be shopping at Menards in the future and will steer any of my associates away from you store.

Menards special orders and store personal

My wife and my self came in to special order a counter top for our kitchen Island. Alexandria in the counter department was a absolutely terrific. She was extremely helpful and attended to all of our questions, with knowledgeable responses. We had to go pick out a sink to better determine the cut out in our counter top so Alexandria directed us to kitchen and bath area to pick out a sink. The gentleman in the immediate area was Kurt and he was stocking an end cap. I approached him for some information regarding a sink. He sighed basically rolled his eyes and with a tone said "What can I help you with" He was very short and complained he was tired and exhausted. I looked for another person to help us but there was no one around. He continued to walk away going back to the stocking job he was doing forcing me to go back and get him several times to answer questions we had. I ended up special ordering a sink, but his customer service skills we horrible my wife wanted to leave because of his shortness and sighs, very unprofessional. Kurt told us that we would get an email regarding our sink and when it comes in. So I wait for a week or so and get NO email. I call the store and unfortunately I did not get the girls name who answered when I pressed option for operator. I ask her about my special order and she was equally as short and rude like kurt. Like I was bothering her. They must have had the same customer service trainer. Because I ended the call just agog with her short answers and pauses, silence after a one or two word answers. Just rude and unprofessional. I like Menards but this experience left a very bad taste in my mouth regarding Menards. I understand people have bad day but why do I have the luck to catch 2 of them.

Menards washer/ dryer I purchased

Me and my fiance just moved into our first apartment after being homeless for 6 months. I am 4 months pregnant and cant keep lugging laundry to the laundry mat so we have been searching for a washer and dryer for 3 weeks we finally fecided to stop at menards to look just maybe there would be a cheap one there. We pull to the back and how lucky could we be both a washer and dryer for 20dollars each i was so happy i cried right there my fiance runs to the gate and explains this story to the guys they said yeah dont worry about it go pay for it we will hold it for you. Thank god right? We go to the service counter pay for it again tell them the story and ask them to hold they said yes of course we left to go get my fiances buddies truck come back 30 minutes later and to find out 5 minutes later they sold it to another couple and they left with it. I am ddevistated words can not even explain how heart broken i am. How can you double sell something. I am so upset how can your company do this to people! If you dont fix this make it right i will never buy another thing from menards neither will any of my family or friends or my fiance or his family or friends. And my father owns his own business taylor maintnence home improvements and works two jobs the hampton inn and bradford apartments where he is head of maintenence and has accounts for menards when i told him what happened he said if they dont fix it hes switching his accounts to home depot! We are all very angry.

Menards cashier complaint

I shop at menards frequently and had the worst experience I have ever had with a cashier on 11/12/16 at the Jackson Michigan Store. I had just checked out when one of the staff had found more of the canning jars that I was looking for. I got a few more cases and proceeded back into line to checkout again. The cashier (Christina) insisted that I get the receipt for the first jars in my cart before she would finish our transaction. I explained that I could not remember where I just put it and showed her my messy purse and that I would dump my purse on the counter ahead of me as soon as we was finished because she had so many in line (I waited 15 min to get to cashier and it was another 15 min in line because she did not agree with the price the jars were at for their sale or that I was using a coupon). She continued to be so rude. It was the worst experience. I had to pay for the first jars again to get of her line and take receipt to customer service to be refunded which with all the stress, I showed them the receipt but forgot to get refund.

Menards steel building kit

We purchased a steel agricultural buildiing kit from Menards in Oregon, Ohio in July 2016. We paid with a cashiers check in full i the amount of $16, 901.62. There were many delays in every aspect of material. Actually the builder we hired has been in contact with the building project manager since September to get the correct material. This is now NOVEMBER 14th and we are still waiting for the correct length in roofing steel, siding steel length and color, downspouts and facia. There is no possible excuse for the absolute neglect that Menards put into this order. It has cost me THOUSANDS of dollars in time and in lost revenue, and in extra cost to my builder because of the incorrect, missing material, and additional construction cost due to misordering and mishandling of my entire purchase from this store. Every contractor in the interim is now put off for insulation and concrete and electric due to an incomplete shell. There is not an excuse for their negligent behavior.
There needs to be monetary restitution to compensate for the lost revenue, added expense, aggravation and hours spent trying to get my material correctly ordered and delivered. My contractor prides himself on starting and finishing jobs without delays... "ONE AND DONE " is on his sign in my yard. There has been NO work done for almost 2 weeks because they dont have material to do any work. This only make us both look bad. Store credit is unacceptable as I do not wish to spend one more CENT in this store.
Our correspondence regarding all the delays have been over the phone with the building manager Keith, and the general manager in building department Marco. I have copies of the continued special orders for steel and other items that they have made on behalf of us at no expense because it was mis-ordered or not ordered correctly the first time. that date as late as November 6th. This is for a FIVE month old paid in full purchase.

Update to this absolute NIGHTMARE. December 7th and I still have only 2 walls and half a roof. My contractor could NOT wait any longer and had to move to a new job. Menards delivered what they said was ALL of the remaining material while he was gone and assured me we had it all. Today they went to put the siding on the second long wall and guess what? THEY SENT THE WRONG COLOR! Are you kidding me? How is it possible to screw up a job with an engineered print that was PAID FOR IN CASH! No one has been to my job site, no one has offered to compensate my contractor or myself for the incorrect sizes that had to be re manufactured at my contractors expense. And I am now 6 SIX S. I. X. MONTHS post order. Whos going to pay for my lost business? Hmmm? Who is going to pay for my stress, anxiety, and lost sleep over my husbancs retirement money being pissed away on this huge mistake? Menards? Is Menards offering anything? Any compensation or restitution? HELL NO THEY ARENT! Im contacting a business Lawyer if they do not pay up. Merry Christmas my [censor]

Menards tuscany kitchen faucet kendre model # 6736070

We bought the Tuscany Kitchen Faucet about a year ago from Menards. The sprayer does not spray. It has a "Lifetime Warranty" we have the box, but have been unable to locate our receipt.
I would like to have the head of the faucet replaced and would be willing to pay for it, but have been unable to even find a place to contact other than this site online.
I do feel they should back up their Lifetime Warranty, you can be sure I will not buy another product from Menards. We should not have to jump through hoops to be able to find out who even to contact to get items replaced under a warranty.

I'm sorry for seeing this note years later, but I wanted to put the word out there that Tuscany Customer Service is wonderful. I bought this faucet from Menard's maybe 10 years ago. Four or five years ago the faucet head wasn't working correctly...I forgot the problem, but I called the 800 number on the back of the box (I still have the box) [protected]) and a real person answered the company phone! I explained my problem and received a new replacement head within a week...I think it was really just a few days!

Recently (March 2, 2023) my faucet head (model 673-6070) stays on the spray mode and I can push the level down to get the straight stream, but when I release it, it goes into the spray mode. I just now called the number again, and they took my phone number, said a replacement will come in 3 - 5 days and gave me a case number.

They truly give a life-time warranty. Please if you still have your Tuscany, call that number. I told them they are wonderful!

Menards special order desk

7.18.16. I go to buy a metal shed. I am told I need a foundation kit that must be special ordered. Menards employee places the order and I pay. Kit arrives and it is vinyl not metal. My contractor spends time, that I am paying for, to build and take apart the incorrect kit. Menards tell me it will be 2 weeks for a replacement so the contractor builds a wooden frame at extra cost to me, but the job had to be done that day.
Menards now tells me they can only refund me for the cost of the kit and will do nothing about the extra $150 I had to pay for the job.
Apparently, it is my responsibility to provide all the correct information and any order errors are not their fault.

Menards returns

Carful when returning items with no receipt, they may keep the items and not return them to you. I got some high dollar light bulbs from my mother for Christmas because she knew I am building a garage. Which I purchased all the materials from Menards. I figured it out that I spent over $16, 000 at Menards in 2015. I didn't want my mother to know that I was returning her gift. She would have been hurt. The gift was worth $75.00. When I went to return them and told them the situation and I had no receipt they up and kept them and said I to contact corporate to get them back. Which I did. I told them the 3 possible Menards she could have purchased them. Corporate called me back and said they see the were several purchases at those locations but without a receipt we are not giving them back or your money. I haven't been back since. I'm in the process of putting an addition on my home. No materials will be bought from them. Over a lousy $75.00.

Menards Lawn mower

On 2/26/2015 I purchased an electric Black & Decker lawn mower, Model CM1640 (Walk behind 40V 16" LI-ION Mower) and a replacement plan, which covers SKU 2701256 through 2/25/2018. Last summer, 2015, the handle broke on the mower. I took the mower to the Menards Service Center (Small Engine Specialty) 2373 Washington Rd., Sunnyland, IL [protected], telephone number [protected]. Black & Decker refused to honor my warranty. Without thinking, I paid the $45 charge. In June, 2016, the handle on the mower broke again. I took the mower back to the Menards Service Center on 6/6/2016. After six weeks, both Black U Decker and Menards refused to honor my warranty. I paid the diagnostic fee. It was determined that I had a replacement warranty and I was instructed to take the mower into Menards with the understanding that they would replace the mower. However, Menards no longer carries this model mower.

I was informed that the only option I had was to pay an additional $50 and Menards would replace the mower with an electric mower by a different manufacturer. The store manager was not in. Assistant manager, Adam, informed me that was all they would do. If I did not pay the additional money, they could not help me. I left with the broken mower. I feel this is unjust as Menards is not honoring the warranty contract I purchased with the mower. I feel that they should either repair or replace the mower.

I filed a complaint with Consumer Affairs o 7/27/2016 with no response to date.

Handles are considered cosmetic and not covered by warranty. Replacing the machine with a different brand and having you pay the replacement fee is reasonable. It is like a co-pay or deductible. Every insurance has one.

Menards Waiting too long to load, rude management, products not found, truck rental policy

Bought kitchen cabinets. Computer showed cabinets, paid for them, then they were not found when I went to get them loaded on the truck I was renting from them. It took so long, about an hour and a half that I was running out of time being able to bring the truck back by their policy by 9:30 pm. Unlike Home Depot where you can just keep the truck overnight especially if the reason you are delaued is because they took forever to load! I complained and asked to speak to a manager. Very rude person by name of Race showes up and claims to be the General Manager for the store. In a threatening manner he tells me that if the truck is not back by 10pm, latest, I will be charged with car theft even if the reason I am delayed is their fault! He was entirely unreasonable and.then has.the nerve to tell me that I signed an agreement when I rented the truck and if I didn't agree to it I shouldn't have signed it. That was his way of handling the situation I was in because of their fault. Then, I was forced to return the truck because there was no way I could bring it back within half hour. So, I paid for delivery a week from then. He didn't even consider giving me a discount on the delivery which I would not have had to do plus the waiting for.the delivery had they loaded the truck in a.reasonable time frame. Then, I get the cabinets delivered and the first one is damaged. The delivery guys refuse to take it back. I have to call Menards and they want to charge me to come pick it up! After pleading with them and waiting on hold for 45 minutes, I get a confirmation that they will pick it up at no cost and I am being given a date. On the I call the store to ask when about will the pick up of damaged merchandise happen and I am told.to call the delivery guys. I call them, leave a message. Couple hours later they return my call and I find out that I am not on their paperwork. I call the store again. Talk to another person that tells me the first, who confirmed my delivery today, didn't know anything! So, I ask for a manager. Manager not there but will return call. Eventually I get a call back, I was not on delivery, pick up schedule but he will try to make it happen. Eventually they tell me that someone will come within next hour. An hour later I get a call that within 30 minutes they will come pick it up. Eventually they did bit I am still unclear about how the refund will happen! I never want to step into their store again unless its their going out of business sale!

Menards service

Livonia, Michigan location - the worst cash register personnel I have ever met.
I am redoing my back yard, piece by piece over the past few months. Every time I went into the store the person at the register was extremely rude. I brought it up to the manager, each time, and they said "I'll have a talk with the person". These register people were all young men. That's one issue. Then, every time I went in to pick up river rocks, they had a different policy as to what you must do to order and pick them up. 1st, go to register and they will look up the number, pay for it and then go around and pick it up. This was the best choice I thought. Next visit, go to the service desk. I did that 3 times, no problem. Then a VERY RUDE Young man refused to do so. When I asked for his manager, he actually told me that he would NOT get him. Wow, really. So I found one, very helpful. Told me, the store had recording devices in the store and they will see what happen. I felt much better. Luckily the next time I went in, he was not at that position. Then I went in, and asked where to order it. They told me the cash register. Rude young man told me he didn't have time to look it up, please come back when I had the number...AHHHH... I left. Came back later that week, ask for a manger, who then told me I had to go to the building department and place the order there, and then come up to the register and pay for it.

My question, whatever happened to customer service and making things more convenient for the customer? I can't be the only customer having this problem. Menards in Livonia doesn't believe in that. They actually need to hire cashiers that are more helpful, and better policies for people buying supplies in their landscaping department; for instance: cashiers in the gardening and landscaping department that take care of all your needs in that department.

Menards service

On July 24 at 7:30 am, I made an online purchase of 3 shelving units to be picked up in the store. The next day I went into the store to inquire about the status of my order. The cashier and another worker informed me that the items were not available and they were waiting for a truck to come in with the items. I told them I would just get a refund. They sent me to customer service for the refund. Well, the customer service rep. seemed puzzled. She informs that the computer says that there are 34 shelving units in stock. Yes, 34! This is the second time that I have had issues with the online store pick up process. If you are going to have this service, please hire workers that want to do their job. The staff that was on duty at 10:45 am on Monday, July 25, 2016 were lazy and liars. At least, the customer service rep. was courteous, helpful, and willing to work.

I would think the store employees know their job better than you do. Most retail inventory systems will add the days truck to the inventory before it actually arrives at the store. SO if the floor personnel told you they were waiting for the truck, they were waiting for the truck, which had the 34 units on it. The counter clerk probably does not know how to read the inventory screen, and should not be doing so if she does not know the inventory system.

As for the status of the order, if you order online, then consult your online account status. That will tell you when the item is ready to be picked up.

Menards wanted to purchase an item for the posted price in the store.

Saturday, July 23rd at the Schererville, IN store.
Rubbermaid large storage shed that was posted in the store for $199.00. When we got the LARGE item on the cart and took it to the register to check out, the price rang up at $279.00. After going back to the display and seeing the sign was correct, but in small print it said it expired on 7/6.

So the store manager, Jim, came to the register and said the best he could do because it was an expired sale, was to give us $30.00 off.

I can understand missing a sign one or two day (maybe even a week) after the sale is over, but this is 3 WEEKS that this sign has been up and listing an incorrect price.

I feel we should get the Storage Shed for the price that was POSTED! NOT $30.00 OFF. It's the fault of the store that we were misled into thinking it was $199.00.

Jim said that "he didn't have to give us the $30.00 off" and the store has the RIGHT to not honor the POSTED SALE PRICE!

I shop at Menards quite a bit, and have been a loyal customer, but I'm very disappointed in the decision of JIM. I enjoy shopping at Menards, but I feel strongly about this purchase and this decision. Please reconsider this request at your earliest opportunity.
