I received a appointment letter from Melia hotels. The details are mentioned below. I want to check is it genuine? They have asked me to contact an agency for work permit who will issue an e-visa for UK which I think does not exist. They have asked me to submit GBP 550 for processing the permit. Please advise the authencity.

CONTRACT APPOINTMENT LETTER
DESIGNATION: Assistant sales Manager

1.0 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

After evaluation of your CV and work experience(s), we found you qualified to work with our team. Hence, MELIA HOTELS & RESORTS LONDON UK seeks to employ your services for the provision of expatriate services as stipulated in the following acts and conditions herein. This document embodies the approved terms for the purpose of this contract.

2.0 JOB LOCATION

The work location will be at MELIA HOTELS & RESORTS LONDON UK,
Be sure to report to the HR Manager upon arrival to conclude prospects of submitting soft copies of this contract appointment letter and other logistics.

.0 JOB PROCEEDING/REQUIREMENT:

You will be expected to resume your job at MELIA HOTELS & RESORTS LONDON UK After your four weeks training program in MELIA HOTELS & RESORTS LIVERPOOL UNITED KINGDOM to enable you meet up to our standard of services here in MELIA HOTELS & RESORTS LONDON UK where your duty will commence; you are also entitle to receive monthly salary during your training program in Liverpool UK, Work time shall be 42 hours a week (6hrs a day) for the three (3) years contract term. Employee shall also be entitled to over-time allowance if their work time exceeds the official stipulated hours. Salary shall be liable to Increments with time and employees' official promotions and position in service.

All employees successfully screened and recruited shall be required to furnish us with their valid Electronic UK residence and work permits papers on or before the 15th of February, 2010 as a proof of readiness to join MELIA HOTELS & RESORTS LONDON UK team in the due time as stipulated above for your job resumption. (And not presently possessing a Electronic valid UK Residence and Work Permits Clearance Papers) shall be expected to personally incur all expenses as shall be related to the processing, procurement and acquisition of their necessary permits clearance papers with the UK Immigration Services. Employee shall be duly reimbursed after their expense has been substantiated with receipts not later than Seven (7) working days after submission of employee’s expense report and receipts.

However, for expatriate who do not have valid UK Electronic visa and work permits papers, are to make contact with our official travel agent here in UK for the procurement of Electronic visa and work permit Below are contacts of the travel agent for directives and assistance on the acquisition and procurement of valid Electronic visa and work permits with the UK Immigration Services in London, as soon as your electronic UK visa work permit are reedy the management of Melia hotel will provide free flight ticket for you via British air line or Emirate air line .

Note: All UK based employees' are to report personally to our office in London with their documents (including this contract document) for identification, signing, and collection of hard copy of their contract documents.

5.0 GRANTS & LOANS
OLD HEM HOUSING LOAN: 1 year service to MELIA HOTELS & RESORTS LONDON UK is required for eligibility. Starter’s amount will be GBP 21, 971 can be re-paid within 10years with GBP 0.00 interests.

LIEU CAR LOAN: All Employees are eligible to apply. Starter’s amount will be GBP 4, 045 can be re-paid within 5years with GBP 0.00 interests.

TRAFFORD BUSINESS LOAN: All Employees are eligible to apply. Starter’s amount will be GBP 15, 000 To GBP 30, 000 annually, Contact the accounts department for more details.

6.0 LEAVE PERIOD:

Employees are entitled to 2 months aid leave period, which can be taken once at a time or 2 weeks apart one different leave period. Employee will receive GBP 4, 000 take home for each leave period.

7.0 FEEDING & ACCOMODATION:

Employee is expected to reside at the MELIA HOTELS & RESORTS LONDON UK’s Staff Estate if they so wish. There are double bedroom and flat options for employee to choose from. Family package status is available for employee that wishes to Re-locate with Family.
Employee is entitled to take meals free of charge at the general staff canteens. Dietary options, customized cooks and dieticians are available options.

8.0 MEDICAL EXPENSES:

Employer will provide the employee with comprehensive health care for the term of contract, and follow-on care for injuries suffered during the term of contract for employee and family

9.0 UPFRONT PAYMENT OF SALARY/ ALLOWANCES & BENEFITS:

The three month’s salary (Inclusive of all allowances & benefits) shall be paid in advance before employee re-locates to new job location. All payments of salary after resumption of duty in London shall be 75% paid into an offshore bank account to be provided by employee with the remaining 25% paid in cash to employee. This is in line with the British Expatriate Financial Statutory Laws.

10.0 OFFICE GADGETS TO BE PROVIDED:

Laptop Computer, 1.6 GHz Processor, 512 MB RAM (Pentium M), 24XCD-RW, 60GB Hard Drive, Floppy Drive, Integrated Network Adapter, Internal 56K Modem, Spare Battery and necessary software shall be provided for workers in the administrative, secretarial, architectural, layouts and designing departments. Full time Internet access is available for all workers.

11.0 SAFETY & SECURITY:

Safety and security of personnel (local/foreign) and facilities on job locations and communities are no small issues, and have been seriously considered to ensure and assure hitch free operations.
All operations on job location are designed to adhere strictly to the standards of British Health and Safety Department (BHSD) and British Environmental Health Authority (BEHA) as applicable in hospitality industries.


12.0 ADDITIONAL SERVICES:
Recreational/Sports facilities shall be made available at the disposal of all employees with no expenses to be incurred. Laundry and dry cleaning service will be made available to employee by the hotel’s laundry and dry cleaning unit on request

13.0 TRAVEL PLANS/ RE-LOCATION:
Expenses made/incurred by the Employee related to job before commencement of duties shall be substantiated and reimbursed by the employer on the conditions stated below.

The employee will be reimbursed by the employer for reasonable moving expense(s) incurred ONLY as a result of relocation, early termination of leases, storage charges and procurement of travel document, Immunizations etc. Reimbursement shall be made upon arrival in London not later than seven (7) working days after submission of employee’s expense report and receipt from country of origination.
Free UK flight ticket will be issued to the employee by the employer as soon as the employee sends copy of visa work permit to the employer.

Reimbursement shall be made to ONLY those who applied for them.

Expenses made by the employee in relation to house hood equipments (e.g. TV, DVD, Desktop computer etc) pets, and other personal assets shall not be reimbursed as these would be considered employees responsibility.

Employee is strongly advised to keep original receipts and evidence of payment(s) of payment made before arrival in London as reimbursement applications made without receipt or evidence of payment shall be denied.

The management of MELIA HOTELS & RESORTS LONDON UK, is giving you guarantee of obtaining electronic UK valid visa and work permit through the help of FLY EXPRESS AGENCY UNITED KINGDOM and all you need is to contact the travel agent (Mr. Alex Williams Uko) with signed copy of your contract appointment letter for his reference.
FLY EXPRESS AGENCY UNITED KINGDOM will require some documents and security deposit which you must send to them for the issuance of your Electronic UK visa work permit which will allow you to arrive to UK without hindrance.

14. THE CONTRACT AGREEMENT

14.1 This agreement supersedes and replaces all previous contracts, written and verbal, between the parties and constitutes the entire agreement between the parties.
14.2 Neither party may assign their obligations nor rights under this agreement to any other person in any circumstances whatsoever except with the prior written consent of MELIA HOTELS & RESORTS LONDON UK
14.3
No waiver of any breach of this agreement shall be deemed to be a waiver of any other or subsequent breach. The failure of either party to enforce any provision of this agreement at any time shall not be interpreted as a waiver of the provision.
14.4 This Agreement is constructed in accordance with section 6 of British Employment Act Bill 2000. A single arbitrator agreed upon by the parties shall decide any dispute between the parties arising out of this agreement.

My Husband too recived the same offer letter. only the designation changed. Please let us know if this is fraud. As i've read alot of Fraud cases with this same Hotel.

i received same appointment letter and also the designation is different but as of now i didnt give the sign offer letter that they were asked me to email back to them.I'm still thinking if this is fraud or not.Also its very fast that you already have an offer letter with them which is so confusing that only for three days from the first time i've received thier email.

Hello every body,
this is fully fraud and cheating, original hotel management will not send the contract letters with out any interview made by them via online, at the same time email id will differ from the management and frauds, so if you have doubts you just log on to the hotel website and enquire them directly by phone.
