Melaleuca

Complaint Rating: 54 % with 13 votes
Company information:
Melaleuca
United States

My wife got scammed into signing up for this after a so called “friend” saw her on Face book. She no sooner said hi when she was cajoling her into joining this pyramid scheme. That’s how they make their money, signing as many people as they can. Besides having outrageous prices ($26 for nothing more that a 16oz. bottle of glorified Lysol, or over $70 a month for their non FDA approved vitamins), when inquiring how to get out of this scheme, I got hassled by a snotty saleslady ("Director') out of Blaine, MN. (initials S.W.)who called the cops on me for asking honest questions which she wouldn’t answer! Plus they automatically charge your credit card a $60 minimum a month even if you don’t order anything. From what I read on other posts, it's very difficult to quit this pyramid scheme, having to send them certified letters and hoping it reaches the right people.
I would definitely steer clear of this outfit.

I feel your pain! My mother in law signed me and my husband up? Which she makes it out to be like she was doing me a favor. "WRONG".Talk about a scam. I sent a written letter stating that I wanted out, faxed it, then later received an email of confirmation that my contract was canceled! Yeah rite! Just Sept 24, 2009, on a saturday of course, recieved my credit card statement showing melaluca had two charges of $20.00 dollars I called my creditor reported it to be fradgulant charge. The scary part is that I have never used this card when I had purchased from this company so consumer beware!!!

Please don't be angry with your Mother in Law, she really was trying to do you a favor.
Sorry, I see an upset melaleuca customer who didn't have a good enrollment,
Melaleuca does not have to resort to criminal activities get your credit card # . If they had your #, it had to be with your permission .
How were you enrolled ? By internet? By phone ?
Did you have a full presentation, so you knew what you were signing?
How long were you a customer?
In the 11 years we have been customers, we have enrolled people that decided it was not for them, and some who have been customers for 10 yrs. The best part of Melaleuca is the money back guarantee, For the first 4 months, you can get your $29 enrollment fee refunded if you change your mind, and all products have a 100% money back guarantee. you must return the containers.
For the first 3 months of enrollment, you can try the "Vitality for Life " patented vitamins, and get a full refund if you don't feel an improvement in your well- being. All you do is send the empty's back.
Try that with One-A- Day" .
We are sorry you had a bad experience, have you called Melaleuca to see what the $ 20.00 charges were for ? or how they had your CC #?
They are more then willing to help.

If your wife would have read the contract before signing her name, giving her social security number, and credit card information, she would have found out that there is a monthly requirement on purchasing products to reach her monthly product points. The sponsor should have told your wife that she needed to read the contract before having her sign something she didnt completely understand. I too have been invloved with Melaleuca, and have not had any problems so far. I am not saying that they are the best company in the world. I did however make sure that I read all of the necessary material before signing something. I also made sure to purchase a 3.00 reloadable cash card so that I did not give out my ban k account information. Before blaming someone else for your wife's irresponsible behavior, maybe she should of had her facts straight before giving out personal information. This is the main reason why complaints are made against this company. People dont bother to read the contracts or the fine print.

I think this complaint is all a bunch of crap. For those of you who have actually taken the time to read this far into this website please notice that most of these are just copied and reprinted several times under several different email addresses. They may be slightly changed but this is just someone who is vicious and has nothing better to do than to try to influence a stranger with their twisted stories.

The same thing can be perceived in a variety of ways. What one person calls a pyramid scheme another person can call an incredible opportunity to make money, help others make money, and use highly effective products with no harmful toxins and that are totally "green." As for the vitamins not being FDA approved - neither are any other non-prescription products! A product might seeem expensive at first glance but when you factor in how concentrated they are you get far more than you would with another product that you use full strength. I guess my point is that while it is healthy to be skeptical in life -- sometimes that trait can make you lose out on what could have been an incredible opportunity for you and your family. I am not a Melaleuca dealer but I have seen my son's friend, and now my son, receive monthly checks that are paying their mortgage and they are only a couple of months into it. Keep an open mind.
