Medversant Corp rep, Matthew left menacing message that my company did not respond to an unsolicited FAX, last August, requiring subscription to their service or ProMailSource email service at $120 p/yr or discount of $12.95 per month by Sept 5. I'd filed it away as I rarely have referrals from Healthways (whom Matthew claimed to represent), having forgotten about it, and called Matthew. He behaved like a bill collector, trying to coerce me into a service with a company that I barely remember that existed and is of no real value to me as a healthcare provider who is "in-network" with all the major insurance companies. I called Healthways to complain about this person and his bill collector tactics and Healthways rep says that they do not require that providers pay for services. Either Medversant is a scam operation, preying upon alternative healthcare providers to subscribe to ProMailSource, or Matthew has very poor customer service skills. Beware. No one is required to pay for HIPAA compliance coverage. Especially, for some company that does not reimburse for services and is only a discount program (which I do not need, as I get full reimbursement from insurance companies that I am contracted with).

Just to advise you, most major email solutions are HIPPA compliant, and have the documentation to prove so. Please do not fall prey to services like these, as they are just using buzz words to sell their products.

I received a similar call from a Medversant rep named "Mark Adams". He tried very hard to push me signing up for ProMailSource to fulfill the new HIPPA Compliant Email which started effective on Oct. 1st 2014. Per "Mark", Healthways transferred our clinic information to him because we didn't respond to the fax notification Healthways sent out earlier this year. He told me EVERY health care provider must comply with HIPAA compliance coverage if they had a website and work email address, otherwise, there would be a $1000 fine if "they" found out anyone fails to do so. My instinct told me something very suspicious about this call and the "Mark" over the phone.
