McDonald's - unsanitary food handling

My family and I visited McDonalds the the manager proceeded to bring our frenchfries to the tray, the fries were not covered with a napkin nor was she wearing gloves. She had her bare hands directly covering and touching the fries after touching other items and utensils. When confronted I was told her hands are clean and not given a refund. Sicked by this I threw the entire order in the trash. While doing so I observed this same individual wipe off her face, mouth and nose area with her bare hand then proceed to handle other customers food without washing her hands. I also noted none of the other managers and employees were wearing glove and not one was washing their hands after handling money and other utensils. I did not even observe a sink in the immediate food handling area.

I bought my husband a quarter pounder with cheese. He bit down on something hard that also stuck him in his cheek. he pulled out a piece of glass the size of my pinky finger nail! I am glad to see that only the best fillers go into their meat!

Went to Mc Donald's at Nasseriya city centre & ordered for a veg happy meal but was served chicken.
Being a pure vegetarian was shocked & when enquired the same to the manager there, she had nothing but to appolozise.the money was returned however there was no sign of genuine appology.
When contacted the branch manager the answer was - madam, happens by mistake even am a Hindu so what ? ... eating the non-vegetarian food has hurt me emotionally and i will also suffer religiously.
Please look into this matter .
i have the reciept where i had ordered veg burger & also the suggestion card which i have filled there.

I was visited today 02/13/2010 McDonald, like I am doing every Saturday Morning. I buying about 20-25 breakfasts for employees at work. One time the lady told me that I should call before I will show up because I have large order. Then this is what I started do it, but nobody answer the phone. She told me today, “I told you last time that you suppose to call before”. I told her that I try but nobody answers the phone. She told in Spanish to her employee that she is not thinking that I ever called. She was very rude to me. When food was ready, she pointed her finger on the food. She didn't even tell me a word that food is ready. I'm not the dog. I'm customer.
Every week I am asking for ketchup and this time I also asked if she put some ketchup to the bag? She told me “You have to ask me for this”. When I came to factory I didn't find sauce for burritos and whole bag with hot cakes was full of syrup. I was cut in the box. I was coming to this McDonald every week for many months. All other employees are very nice and polite. It was never happened that box with syrup was cut, or it was not sauce for burritos and they always put ketchup without any comments. But this lady I met twice as a casher and I think she is a manger of this place and I'm very disappointed that person who is casher and dealing with customers doesn't know how to behave well.

many places have the bare hand contract which allows them to work with food wearing no gloves. Look up the details it is actually more sanitary then gloves and approved by the health departments.

I don't agree much with what you all are saying. You have to realize you can only wash your hands so many times in a day and no matter what, you will always be spreading some germs. I work at Culver's restaurant and we wash our hands a lot more than you people are giving credit for. We can't always wear gloves because they also spread germs just as much as if we were not wearing them. We would have to change our gloves every single time we handed out an order or touched a computer screen. As for touching food, yes, the lady shouldn't have touched your fries, she should have handled them by the paper that holds the fries. She should have given you a new batch of fries and made sure she didn't touch them. But please give a little more credit to fast food restaurants because they are a lot more sanitary then you actually think.

Last night 02/12/2009 at approx 23:35 we as a work group went for midnight luncheon to the
McDONALDS food place at the lower end of Taranaki street next to the BP garage in Wellington city NEW ZEALAND.We discovered that they appear to be quite BUSY. We all placed our orders, where some received theirs but we had to wait 20 min for the fries.I then ordered a FLAT WHITE COFFEE.We noticed that all the staff were rushing about no one wearing any gloves nor hair coverings while serving the customers or anyone else working at the direct food areas. We commented loudly about one staff member who had very long hair which were covering his face where he constantly jerked his head to see in front of him. When I received the coffee I opened the lid to add sugar and noticed this long black hair inside the coffee on top of the coffee foam.I immediately returned the coffee and showed the staff member at the serving desk, where he appologised and told me they replace it.
PLEASE NOTE WHAT STANDARD OF SERVICE IS THAT CALLED, NO HAND GLOVES, NO HAIR COVERINGS, A TWENTY MINUTE WAITING PERIOD WITH NO APOLIGISE.

I went to the McDonalds close to where I live, and the same thing happened, the clerk did not wear gloves nor did he, or any of them wear hair nets. What has happened to the days when all food service handlers HAD to wear gloves and hairnets!

Well I visited my mom in Tennessee, I noticed the same thing. None of the employees wore gloves which grossed me out. Not only do you have to worry about the fact that they might touch something other than your food but your hands make oils. Like if you're working in a warm place, like in the back of the kitchen or whatever, your hands will probably get warm and sweat. You can wash your hands off as many times as you want but the oils and germs will keep coming back. Seriously I've been to other establishments where they didn't wear gloves and noticed them touching other things, their clothes, face, or whatever and it's so disgusting!

Later after this incident I called a corporate office which so happened to be right across the street from the McDonalds and asked about the non glove situation. They're response was something along the lines of..."Well they wash they're hands every 15 minutes!" Please! I'm sure they remember to do that, that often. Whatever! They asked for my address so they could send me some coupons. Um No thanks! haha
