McDonald's charging more that advertised price

Their corporate poster advertises: "Two Egg McMuffin with Sausage Sandwiches $3" when I checked the receipt and noted that the charge was $3.33. I asked the clerk about the obvious difference from the advertised sign. His cordial response was, "That's what we charge here. That is what I am required to key in. If you disagree you will have to speak to the Manager."

McDonald's inappropriate behavior

My complaint regards to the character of the male crew on duty in McDonalds in Belconnen.
I refer to an incident in early 2008 in which a friend, walking drunk through the drive through at night was encouraged with others, to lift her top, which was photographed by the manager working at the time, “Dez.” When later asked to delete the photograph he refused, instead showed the picture to other customers which came through the drive through.
I believe this action has not been addressed and has left a stain on the reputation of this franchise store. This was not the only time in which my friends and I were harassed by the male staff on duty, and “Dez” more than once asked us to lift our shirts up. I had expected this manager would have been fired but no action seems to have been taken by any of the other staff. It was an extremely traumatic incident for my friend involved, and a lot less than could be hoped for from a family restaurant.

Mcdonalds doesnt give a [censor] about their employees what makes you think they give a [censor] about the customers, btw they dont give a [censor] about anyone!

McDonald's poor service

Dear Mcdonalds Australia,

I am writing this letter of complaint as I have had too many accounts of poor counter service in delivery of food. On three occassions in the past two months. It is becoming apparent to me that the service in delivery of food to the customer is slow and customer value is diminishing. The first incidence was at North Ward, Townsville where i began to wait for a Chicken Deluxe burger, the precendence was the drive through, and a fellow customer had recieve her burger before me. 8 mins after I still was waiting for mine, then still realising i had not recieved a junior burger for my child. I had showed that as a customer of was unaprieciative of the wait and all i recieved was a sorry. The second occasion was at Newmarket Mcdonalds Brisbane, on this occasion I had to wait 7 mins for a Fillet of Fish, once again showing my exhaustion of slow service. The last and final experience of poor service is at Fairfield Waters Mcdonalds where I had ordered a Chicken Deluxe meal, Fillet of Fish and 6 Chicken nuggets. To my expectant surprise once again i am waiting for an item to be on my tray, the chips are going cold, my kids are hungry and i am standing there waiting for service of 6 nuggets to turn up. With no exageration of timings the 6 nuggets were 8 mins after the chips and Chicken Deluxe and Fillet of Fish. Please comeon McDonalds where has the value in service gone, of the customer having there meal brought to them so Mum can sit down and feed her children in a place that was built by families. I will say again there is no value in Customer service and cooking fresh burgers is a joke, my chips go cold every time waiting for something to arrive, the good old days are gone where my kids will grow up on family times at Mcdonalds. Forever lost customer
Regards
Cath

You sound like everyone that has to wait 5 mins on their food. So what if you waste 5 mins. Do you want to go home and perpare something that takes 30 mins? No, so stop complaining. Only complain if the crew and managers are standing around or speaking in a bad way towards you.

As the above comment states, fast food is not immediate food. Guess what? Sometimes you have to wait on the meat of your product to cook. The alternative is to try to bite through frozen meat, a notion you would no doubt find unappealing. What I find incredible about people who moan about having to wait too long is that they usually spit out figures like you have. Think about this in perspective. SEVEN MINUTES, just exactly how long is that really? So you have to wait for your food to be prepared, get over it. Where do you honestly have to be that you can't possibly wait that long without getting angry? My suggestion - next time you feel like your food is taking a while, ask the employee if there is indeed a sizeable wait on your food. If there is, tell them you are going to go sit down and start eating what you do have. Guess what? They will bring it out to you when it's ready. Oh, by the way, if you truly are just disappointed at the service, then a sorry would be sufficient to let you know that the company is also upset that your wait was lengthy and that they are aware of your negative feedback. However, if sorry is not enough for you, then it's quite clear the only thing you want, is refunds or free, extra food. Basically, you aren't really disappointed in the service, you are greedy and just looking for an extra buck or burger.

You are an arrogant, impatient imbecile. Congrats. Stay away from Maccas, they don't want you there either.

What would you rather, your burgers old as well as your chips being cold? Some people don't understand the concept "fast-food" does not mean IMMEDIATE food. Surely you must realise that the preparation of fresh food that is tailor made for you does not happen instantly. You haven't mentioned that you actually spoke to anyone with authority to fix your problem, so really, how can you expect anyone to improve on their service? You sitting behind your computer having a ### about how terrible the service has been does not fix the problem.
My suggestion? Next time, instead of ### about the wait for your hot fresh burgers, explain to the staff that during that time, your chips have gone cold and you'd like a replacement. You have to be realistic in your expectations of what "fast-food" means. Sure, it can go back to the "good old days" but I'm sure you'd be on here whinging about being sold stale product because the fact of the matter is, you cannot satisfy some people. Maybe it's better you stay at home, feed those kids of yours a home cooked meal (for once?).

McDonald's unhealthy conditions

On the morning of Sat. Sept. 19 at approximately 8 am. a party of four, while traveling in southern Manitoba, stopped for breakfast at the Neepawa McDonalds. We found the conditions deploreable, far below the normal and customary standards of McDonald's restaraunts. The floors and table tops were dirty. The abundance of flies truly defies description. We are not talking about a few flies here. We are talking about hundreds of flies. This is true for the dining area, as well as the food preparation area. The food was substandard to the extent that two of our four breakfast sandwiches were cold to the touch and hash browns were at best warm. While we emphasize with the young lady attempting to provide service at the counter, it was clear that this person's disadvantaged situation prevented her from functioning in a manner acceptable for the position. Management surely should and must have recognized this situation. As we travel frequently, we often choose to eat at McDonalds for their consistency in quality of food and service. Our experience at the Neepawa McDonalds was unacceptable and quite to the contrary. Bob & Sandy Teets Durand WI, USA

McDonald's migrant workers

Sept. 27, 2009 at 14:37 I was spoken to and treated rudely by two different employees of the Elkton, Md. McDonalds.; Neither of which spoke enough English to be understood by an English speaking person. They spoke to each other in spanish and due to my knowledge of spanish, I called them on it. I had ordered a quarter pounder to go, I got a quarter pounder with cheese to "eat-in". I sent it back two times and got the same thing each time then demanded my money be returned and demanded to speak with a manager. Where upon I met with a black girl who spoke as badly as the mexicans. McDonald's needs to support Americans, if your employees wish to work in America they need to speak English and go thru the proper proceedures to work here. If an INS officer walked in any McDonald's, I truly believe over half of the employees would scoot out the back door. I will no longer purchase from McDonald's and I am not alone in this.

McDonald's assistant manager

I am 36 Years old and was recently laid off from a job I have had for 15 years. Well I am a single mom and have to work I put my heart into every job I do. But the complaint is the first week I was there, there is this assistant manager named James who is a youngster himself... He told me to go mop and sweep and do the dishes and run front counter, well I did that and another employee told me a few minutes later that she asked to help me and he said no I hate that girl she is nothing but a drug addict... Every since then when I am scheduled to work with him he sends me home... I have repeatedly told the general manager and nothing has been done... The night before last he had hired all these young boys and him and them boys would get to missing for hours I on the other hand was doing everybody elses job, cleaning and taking and deliviring orders, They sit on the counters and text all the time and so does the manager I said something he tolme I quote "You take your job to serious" When I work I give it my all... If it wasnt for people like me the resturant would be in shambles and nothing but a teen age hang out... well today I am working my tail end off again and all the other people where all gathered around including him and he looks at me while I am working hard and says you can clock out and leave he didnt ask me he told me I guess I was ruining his fun because I am serious about my job... He went to his office and I could not take no more I went to him and wanted to know what problem he has with me... he says nothing and I continued telling him what my friend had told me all he said about me he bowed his head and said nothing. I have reported it on 3 occasions and nothing has been done... I asked him right then to lets get this problem solved right now but he said nothing... so I turned and walked away.. and went home.. I want to quit but then he would be winning... and I need to pay my bills but getting sent home everyday by him im not going to be able to do that... I was manager at a pizza hut and a little ceasers one time and from what I remember a manager is not even suppose to even talk bad about another employee with a crew member He in my opinion is to young to be a manager and dont care about his job like I do... what do I do? my email is [protected]@yahoo.com

McDonald's customer satisfaction now comes with a price$

I find it amazing on the corporate decision McDonalds has made on charging for sauce quantities that exceed what has been determined to be the std. packages of sauces you get for nuggets now. Get real guys, has the current economic depression really effected this multi billion ARCH. This is another example of how corporate america has found a way to recoupe profit on dry materials that has little to no value of cost. Having worked as McDonalds during college and currently in a upper managerial position I cant ignore the current move McDonalds has taken to become leaner. I have to wonder who decided the recommended serving size of an 10z sauce package. I always thought that the goal of a business is to make the customer happy. Let's analize this a little further 2 sauces for a 10 pc nugget at 2oz. That's .2 oz per nugget!... are the CEO's against double dipping or what. To make matters worse additing a tomatoe or cheese to sandwich can cost you $.40 cents, that nearly half the price of the sandwich. If this is the new wave of doing business, perhaps we should be getting discounts when we hold the tomatoe or cheese. These new policies are obscured and ridiculous. I was a long term contributor to the Ronald McDonald House, but I think I will save my extra change to cover for extra condiments. What's next charging for ice. ER

The fact of the matter is sauces, etc. COST MONEY. I used to work at a McDonalds too, and it was amazing at how wasteful people were and how much they took. They're not free. The owner of the McDonald's (you know, the franchisee. The one who employs all those workers and pays the bills) pays for those. Every cent counts when you own a business. The business owner is the one who pays the salaries, buys the supplies, pays utilities, taxes, etc. They took the risk to start a business. They have to have some sort of rules. Have you not considered that the price of 2 dipping sauces is built into the price of the nuggets? It only makes sense if you want more, you pay more. Why do you have the right to get more for free than is actually needed?

As for your swipe at Ronald McDonald House. It's not owned by McDonalds. It's independent of the company and relies on donations to do all of its good work. Most franchises support it, and so does the corporate offices, but to do its work it needs other funding. You'd think you'd know that being a McDonalds worker and all. So you want to hurt a charity over some stupid dipping sauce?

Here's an idea: DON''T EAT THERE IF YOU'RE SO UPSET OVER NOT GETTING ALL THE HOT MUSTARD YOU THINK YOU'RE ENTITLED TO!

McDonald's fly in coffee

Today my daughter went to our local McDonalds and bought my husband a coffee, like she has done time and time before. He always gets decaf, and gets it black. He usually gets 7 cream and 7 sugar to put in it, as he would rather put it in himself, then have one of their employees do it.

Well, after the sugar was all put in, he put in one creamer, and was stirring it, up to the surface came a fly! Talk about gross!

I personally took the coffee down to them, and told the manager we had a big problem.

According to the manager...it's summer, hmmmm-the middle of September...and although they try to keep them down, it happens. He was REAL nice, and offered to make a fresh batch for me, and I looked at him like, no way!, and he gladly gave me my money back.
On the refund receipt, I seen him write "found fly in coffee".

Am I wrong here, but shouldn't an incident report have been filed ?

And just how many other flies found in food complaints has this place had?

Is this not an issue for the HEALTH DEPT.?

We have eaten other food from the same place! Wonder what other goods have been found there!

I totally understand what you're saying and it is really disgusting that you found a fly in your coffee but I'm sure this kind of stuff happens everywhere! I don't think it can be helped really. Its like during the warmer weather, when you walk into a restaurant there are probably going to be some flies that make it in too. I can't really imagine a way of stopping this?! At least you got your refund!

McDonald's pricing and terrible management

A (seemingly) simple visit to this McDonalds on a Friday afternoon to buy a few things for my nieces and other neighborhood kids. An after-school "reward" for a week of excellent "academics" from them.

Now first of all, I payed for this meal with a credit/debit card. For two adults, 2 nieces, and seven other children that they commonly have over, I spent a whopping $79.00...You know the McFlurry cost are outrageous...but again, they all did so well in school for the week. Nevertheless, they wanted the McFlurrys, Chicken sandwiches, fries and the such. Nothing for me, as I know there is a Jack in the box, down the street. I also purchased food for my sister, and my better half---Lucy. Well I pay for the food, and in that the youngters wanted a particular condiment (Ranch) for their food, I asked as the food was given to me. No dice. They wanted $0.33 for a single condiment. I only wanted 5. So I spend $79.00 and they could not oblige me with $1.65 in condiments. O.K. so I do understand operating cost, and things of that nature. However, when a person purchases something, at the amount that I did, it only seemed prudent to not charge. Oh, and by the way, I payed for this with a credit card, and I did not have any cash on me (not that I would have payed anyway). The manager then comes out and tells me that if he wanted to he could charge for "salt." Yes salt. Then he tells me to get out of his store if I did not want to pay for the sauce. So I left (with a smile on my face), went to jack in the box, and I ordered two tacos, another order of fries, two Jumbo Jacks, and a drink. Oh, and then I asked for 5 ranch sauces, and they gave them to me, because I had "PURCHASED" food.

By the way, the managers name is Marcos.

Personal accicent / injury in mcdonalds property — stratford on avon

Dear sir / madam

I have started procedures against mcdonalds, stratford on avon, warwickshire branch,

For accident / incident / personal injury to myself, on wednesday 16th september 2009.

Mcdonalds... wednesday 16th september 2009

Contacted lawyers & business colleagues in media.
Thursday 17th september 2009
Submission below of claim / personal injury/ damage & trauma.

Purchased an apple pie. approx 3pm weds 16.9.09

This pie has apple 'self contained in an oblong parcel like wrapper'
I was very hungry & immediately unwrapped the thin cardboard like wrapper. proceeded to 'bite in to the pie' then the entire pie exploded in my face. badly burning mouth, cheeks, lips & tongue.
I was in agonising pains & trauma, caused by this. no one came to my rescue. I had to get the mcdonalds cleaner to bring me some ice. this took 15 minutes to bring & then by this time, I was in very bad pain & distress... (due to length of time taken to get any assistance) & (to extent of injury to face & internal... lips & tongue). I asked to see the manager for a complaints procedure. there are no such incident forms, no personal claim forms, no reporting nor procedures to deal with any injuries or incidents. I was informed by seb shift manager. that he/they/were no way that anyone could or would be able to nor want to assist in any way.
This pie was like a bomb that exploded boiling hot sauce & mcdonalds are to blame for their extremely high cooking temperature, thats remains explosive for a very long period of time, due to a gaseous nature.

I have today, been advised to contact both 1). health & safety executive 2). environmental health.
(to which I have contacted). further contacts discovered & to be explored.

Also advised to fully inform mcdonalds head office:
Address: 11-59 high street, east finchley. london. n2 8aw.

This company have been and are negligent in both their servings of boiling hot foods (to the dangerous nature) to the ignorance of the facts and to the non assistance & ignorance of their trading regulations.

There apparently are no customer incident forms.
No procedures for accident, nor personal injury claims / incidents.

I have several business friends who operate in the media & will be most interested to publish my findings / experiences & trauma, should this be necessary to further my claim.

I wish for mcdonalds to take better care & responsibility for their business tradings.

If this had happened to a small child, or indeed, had there been anyone close to hand: (had boiling hot & explosive liquid) hit their face and or body part, then this would have been a different story, if the person had been blinded.

"this is very dangerous & extremely serious & must be taken seriously enough to correct any future damage & prevent from happening again".

"I am claiming for personal injury & to trauma, that has been caused to myself"

I have very influential business contacts, both within the media & a lawyer, who can provide both first class advice & will prepare my submissions & further my claim if deemed necessary.

I look forward to your reply, in communication as soon as is possible.

Yours faithfully

McDonald's service management

Being that it is the only available mcdonalds after hurricane ike there is no other options as far as mcdonalds goes.
Management at this location is the worst I've ever experienced.
I have been in the food service industry for over 15 years. From dishwashewr to management.
Apparently Mcdaonalds employees are more concerned about their salon nails and hair (females) and keeping their pants saggy and flirting with employees and customers (male), Than serving the customer.
Consistently have to wait for the cashiers to answer their cell phones.
As a result they are not paying attention to the orders being placed.
I was the only one there at 11:00 a.m. this morning. I ordered a #6 crispy with two jalapeno peppers. Because she apparently doesn't know what a # 6 is (combo meal) she still had to ask if I wanted just the sandwich or the combo.
Expecting the same terrible service I always experience, I checked my order before leaving. The chicken was grilled. I returned it along with the bag .
The bag was on the counter and she knew it was my order and still does not have the common sense to put the sandwich in the bag.
Has the nerve to say" oh, You just gonna snatch from my hand",
I would not have had to snatchit from her hand if she would have had the common sense to put it in the bag.

I was contacted by phone today to my cellphone. I have know idea how this person got my number but that is not the issue. Now days I get telemarketing calls and text daily and this is very disturbing to me. Today the call I answered and the person I spoke to for 45 min. was very convincing that I had won a large sum of money and a new vehicle as well. I listened to him and wrote everything down he said. He then took my name and address no personal info such as banks or social security as I would never ever give that info to a stranger that calls me and told me he had to speak with the president of the company to set up my delivery by UPS for my prizes and that he would call back in a half hour. Well he called an then proceeded to instruct me to go to a Wal-Mart, CVS, or Walgreen and purchase a GD Money PAC Card for the amount of $355.03 to cover the shipping and handling fees that I had to pay to get authorized by the homeland security before the UPS driver could give me my prizes. He also said I would be reimbursed this money by his company which was something to do with the Mega Millions lottery, He first told me I was randomly selected by the lottery for this first place large sum of money and a vehicle that I had won, ha ha ho ho it's not a merry Christmas or lucky chance I won something. IT IS A BIG SCAM...I called my local Walgreen to ask about this so called card I needed to purchase. Thank God I made this call and found out from the manager that this is a scam that started over a year ago which had stopped for sometime but is now starting back again. They wanted me to call them after I purchased this card and give them the receipt details and they then take my $355.03 I paid to purchase this card and I would have been scammed. This is the first time I have ever been in a situation like this and let me tell you it was sounding legit until the end when I was asked to put out money for a Green card which I had no clue what this was until Walgreen explained it to me. Please communicate this to everyone you know and re-post as you wish on any web sites you frequent. They continued to tell me several times to keep this confidential as I would not want anyone to ripp me off when I received the $800, 000 certified check I was to win. The amount of $355.03 I was asked to pay is not the same they ask of everyone. It can be $150 or any other amount they could ask you to pay to purchase this card, DO NOT FALL FOR THIS AS IT IS A SCAM!

I definitely think that being rude to customers is unacceptable, but you shouldn't talk about her like she's stupid for asking if you want just the sandwich or the meal. I've worked on drive-thru before and although I assume someone saying #6 means they want the meal I guarantee if we don't ask each time someone will only want the sandwich and get mad at us anyways. Perhaps people have thought I'm ignorant for verifying what exactly they want even when it seems simple, but if I didn't then I would have more people fussing that I charged them for the #6 meal instead of just the sandwich or that I charged them for a hot peppermint mocha with whole milk when they wanted skim. Frankly with food it's best not to assume that people want "what they say" so to speak.

McDonald's assault

I went thru the drivethru of a McDonalds & ordered 2 double cheese burgers the kid said 3 double, i said no 2 double, he said 6 double & i said no just 2 double cheese burgers. he said 12 double & i said No- all i want is 2 just 2 double cheese burgers, he said drive around to the first window & pay. I get to to window & the girl says 6 double cheese burgers will be $6 sumthing & i said all i wanted was 2 double cheese burgers, whos the idiot that cant take an order. She takes my debit card & turned around & told sumone what i said. I drove up to the pickup window to get my burgers & the kid shows up & starts by staring hard at me thru the glass, then opens the window & says do i have a problem & i said no, all i want is my burgers, he says ive got a problem. Then i said then ill need to speak to the Mgr & he says im not speaking to no one & closes the window. The Mgr at this point is walking back & forth to the shake machine watching whats going on & doing nothing. The kid starts staring hard again & does the motion of (What What) with his mouth & body english. He opens the glass again & asks me if im calling him out & i said all i wAnt is my burgers & if he comes out that door hes fired & im calling the Police, he says he dont care. I get my burgers & by the time i drive out the Drive Thru he has already ran out of McDonalds & to his truck & gotten a aluminum baseball bat & is coming towards me waving it. Hes standing about 1-1 1/2' from me & i said ur throwing ur job & life away over a burger & he says he dont care hes gonna beat me. I said ur fired & im calling the cops if none of these other witnesses havent. I said look around at all the people watching you & i could see everyone in McDonalds was watching. He walked around to the front of my truck waving the bat & i tried to take a picture of him with it but the sun. He put the bat back in his truck & went back into McDonalds. So i drove around the back of his truck & took a photo of his lic plate. I waited to see if the Police would show up & sure enough a car pulled up at the Gas Station next door so i flagged them down & told them what happened & the officer said (Over a Burger?) & i said ya over a burger. So the Officer called it in & said lets walk over & get this settled. He kid was at the order window with the female cashier & saw us walking up & as we entered he came to the front & took his headset off & dropped it on the counter & the officer said im guessing thats him, & i said yes & he pulled him off to the side to get his story & he said i called him a idiot (which i never did, because i never saw him. I told the girl Whoever cant take the order is an idiot). He admitted to the cops he had a baseball bat & the cops came to talk to me & say he just turned 18 & this is his first job & hes not making wise choices in his life so far. They suggested instead of filing charges that they give him a sturn talking to & take our info down & i said ok as long as i can file later & they said yes. Then the Nite Mgr calls me over & asks what gonna happen now. I told him i was waiting for him to do sumthing before it got this far, he said the kid has issues & has been written up before & asked for my name & number so the General Mgr can call me tomorrow. On 9-13-09 the General Mgr calls & after seeing the video & reading the report says hes sorry & said the kid has been fired & that he would like to make it up to me & offered me a Free Coupon for a burger. I told a friend about what happened & he said i should press charges because he could be out there looking for me & maybe not with a bat next time. Its been 5 days & i wont even drive into that area anymore for fear of that employee seeing me.

The Employee pleaded innocent in court & after the ploice did their investigation it showed all the employees on duty that day told the truth & when he went back to court changed his plea to guilty & was sentenced to time served & probation. As for McDonalds they had their Liability Insurance Co call me & recorded my statement as i recorded theres & they said McDonalds isnt liable because the employee acted outside the scope of his duties which were taking orders & preparing food & cleaning the restraunt. I told her that i would take McDonalds to court & she said Not McDonalds & i said Yes McDonalds. I recorded the whole conversation. So what they are saying is- If the employee shot someone at the counter it wouldnt be McDonalds fault because the employee acted outside the scope of his duties, which is bull crap

I would at least put a restraining order against him to make sure that the kid understands what his actions could do if he comes after you. And I would have pressed charges on the spot. Now you are alwase afraid of this person. I would also wonder why the manager didn't do anything about this when is started I think he or she should be under review too.

McDonald's food & service

Apples in Happy Meal were expired. I advised the person working and was very Rudely told that they were ONLY expired by one day. (the woman was an older east Indian woman) I told her it did not matter how long they had been expired, it was against health department regulations to serve any food that is out of date. She got very upset and went to check her stock and said that was the date on all the apples they had. I said then you better get rid of them. She said, no one else had complained.
The other girl on duty (young with dark hair) was very nice and asked me what I would like instead, fries or cookies, and gave me cookies. She was very helpful and polite, unlike the other woman. This is no way to run a restaurant, even McDonald's.
This one is inside Walmart on Loveridge Rd in Pittsburg, CA 94565

On Saturday April 26th I went to the drive thru at Upper Gage & Mohawk in Hamilton.I got in line at 4:40p.m. approx 6 min later we got almost to the speaker when the sign blew out and just missed the side of my truck. My wife got out and put it aside, we now placed our order which was 1Mc Chicken combo>no mayo /rootbeer 2. Big Mac combo/diet coke 3. 1 Big Mac combo/diet coke 4. 2 Quarter pounders/cheese, 1 in a combo /diet coke...Big order yes but not complicated. We got our meal it was now 4:55 my wife checked the bag to make sure everything was there and without them even telling us first that there was no meat for quarter punders their were no sandwiches or fries but we got the pop. So my wife went inside to get this rectified and was told there was no meat for the sandwiches and was not even asked if we wanted a different sandwich nor speak to a manager. The store 99% of the time is great, but I've noticed that on weekends the staff are all under 20 including managers. My order was $30 I didn't get the food I wanted and by the time it was straightened out and we settled with 2 Big Macs the rest of our food was cold and barely edible. Its now 5:00 we had cold food and not the food or an explanation. How could a sandwich so popular run out.I am now or will I ever go back to that store but I will sure hesitate at any other location and I have enjoyed the food at Mc Donalds for many, many years.I spend a lot of money in your store each week and now my kids will suffer the most because I'm hesitant to go back.

Sincerley and very disappointed, Mr. Roy Shortt

McDonald's great service

I'm writing this to inform you of the great service that I recieved in drive thru over this weekend when I visited your store coming back from a vacation. I was suggested a angus burger and the way that the employee had suggested it when I was going to order a Big and Tasty sandwich, when he described the Angus Deluxe I had to try it and I have been offered that sandich before but he soled that sandwich to me very well that my wife even had to taste one. When I came to the window to tell the man how good that he did presenting that sanwich to me I had to try it. By the way this young man name is kenny. I think that he is a fine young man and very respectful. Because of him, I wish that I could come to this store more often but I live to far away but I just wanted to let you know about the kind of employee that you have. I know how some owners and boss don't care about their employees and all they look for is the dollar.

McDonald's continuing bad service

Hi, I frequently visit the drive through at McDonalds at Happy Valley in South Australia and every time there is either a product not available because the machine is broken, or we dont receive the food we ordered. Sometimes the burgers look like they have been thrown into the box and one visit the burger we ordered only had half a bun on the top! I would think any person making this burger would realise that half a roll just does not make a burger. We can never get the full menu we order because either the soft serve machine is broken or the freezee maching is in defrost, it is always something not working. This is not just a one off problem as I said I would visit this restaurant at least twice a week on the way home from sport, etc usually on a Thursday night which is when most of the problems have been occurring. Just today for example I went through the drive through and wanted sundaes and soft serves, the machine was not operating, I got home and my seared sweet chilli wrap was a crispy ceasar wrap. The chicken was dry and cold and I was extemely annoyed, again! Please can you do something about the quality of food coming from this restaurant and ask why these machines are continually breaking down.

Thanking you,

A Reynolds

If you want good service and good quality, go to a quality restaurant. What were you expecting from McDonalds? Also, I find myself struggling to understand why you continually go to a restaurant where machines are constantly broken, they're mixing up your orders or giving you bad quality food. Surely there's some other fast food resturants in your area that would get you fat just as quickly?

McDonald's rude customers

I'm a 16-year old girl that is currently working at McDonald's. It wasn't exactly my first choice to work there but I really needed the money since I am now paying for my own things. I like my job, and work around wonderful people. The only thing that stings me are the customers.
I'm not implying to all of you, but we ARE trying our best to fulfill you're needs, and it just makes it harder if you yell and call us names.

Don't get me wrong. I LOVE serving people, but I have a constant fear of people making threats or racial slurs to me and often feel like breaking into tears.

I'm on the verge of thinking of quitting, but with the money issues and bills, I might have to stick to this one.

I'm hopeful of a better job with a more professional environment, but it's been harder to get one due to the economical issues.

Thanks for reading this. It really vents out my doubts.

I too work at mcdonalds. It amazes me how rudepeople
can be! I mean they can see we are packed and all are trying
our best but they still decide that yelling at us will make
will make things go faster! When in reality it slows us down
more! It puts the managers in a bad mood
which in return puts
everyone else in a bad mood. It would be much
better for everyone if people would be more paitent. I know at some points the customer
has a legit complaint but if they would just calmly talk to someone than
it can be solved faster and easier. I quess I needed to vent too. For these reasons I treat every waitress or service person with paitence and understanding because I know how it feels to be on the other end. I think every person should have to work at a fast food place so they understand there is more to it than just making food.

when i come home and half my order is missing yah we get a tad upset, and plus we cant even understand these fast food workers now days, so make sure you give the customers the right order and you should have no problems right? take your time when dealing with customers food, so they dont have to drive all the way back. and dont give a attitude like most micky ds workers, good luck on your job and its great that you are working at a young age, shows you are a go getter!

I totally understand that you have to deal with rude customers but seriously I can't imagine that you've been working there that long considering you're only 16, so I don't really get why you're complaining already?! I bet before you started working there, you probably felt around the same way as a lot of the customers you've had to deal with. Expecting to grab your food and go, but in the end you have to deal with people who don't know what they're doing, hence they shouldn't even be working there. A lot of the people that complain have probably been to quite a few McDonald locations and have dealt with a lot of crap from the employees of McDonald's, just like with every other restaurant or fast food place.

McDonald's out of control franchise owner

On Sunday, June 14, 2009, my son returned home visibly shaken and crying. He remorsefully explained to his father and I that he and two (2) of his friends were at McDonald's on Broad River Road and Dutch Square Parkway. A schoolmate, which is also an employee of McDonald's, and my son were horseplaying in the establishment’s parking lot. During the horseplay my son threw a rock at the other young man. The rock bounced off the ground and accidentally hit the bottom left door glasspanel. The glasspanel shattered and broke.

My husband and I reprimanded our son for throwing the rock and immediately took him back to McDonalds to apologize, face the consequences and find out the cost. Upon arriving at McDonalds we were met by two (2) Richland County Sheriff’s Deputies. They commended us as parents for retuning with our son and they realized it was an accident. Our son spoke with the Deputies. He was still visibly shaken but also remorseful and embarrassed. As soon as we exited the car a gentleman, who was fixing the window, began speaking loudly. He stated, “Is this the damned genius that broke my window?” our son proceeded, with the Deputy, toward this gentleman. As our son apologized the gentleman never looked up or responded. This statement, as well as the remaining derogatory statements, were all made in the presence or within hearing distance of the Richland County Sherriff’s Deputies.

As the Deputies spoke with me and my husband the gentleman continued to barrage us with hostile insults. My husband stated to the gentleman that what he was saying was not necessary since we came to resolve this issue. Mr. Clark began stating that I was the type of mother who after her child shoots someone I’d still defend his wrongdoings. Up to this point I never said anything to the gentleman because I didn’t even know who he was. One of the Deputies identified him as the owner. I stated, “He may have had a bad day and I understand him being angry.” Mr. Clark then stated, “These people are nothing but ###s. These ###s make me sick.”

At this point I requested that the Deputies ask Mr. Clark for a business card and stated to the Deputy, “Based on his visible anger, hostility, profanity and derogatory remarks I will not personally call him. I’d request a Mediator or an Attorney communicate with Mr. Clark for quotes and payment information.” The Deputies felt that this would not be necessary and Mr. Clark would soon “cool down” and that we would be able to talk. This unfortunately did not happen. The situation only escalated. Mr. Clark continued to work or walk back and forth to his vehicle. As he passed us (Deputies, myself and my husband) he continued with the derogatory remarks, at one point chuckling and making a comment about the President. Mr. Clark stated, “I am sick and tired of these kids coming in here, but I’m sure that by this Friday or Saturday after the movies I’ll be able to handle the other two (2) boys because they’d be dumb enough to come back in here.”

Since this bombardment would not stop I again requested that I be allowed to complete an incident report stating the language that Mr. Clark was using was threatening and derogatory. The older Deputy refused stating, “Unfortunately, Mr. Clark can say whatever he wants. We can’t stop a person from speaking.”

We continued to wait for two (2) other Deputies to bring the required paperwork. When the paperwork was complete for our son the older Deputy went to speak with Mr. Clark. When the Deputy returned he requested my identification. I asked, “Why?” He stated that Mr. Clark wanted to complete a trespassing complaint against me and my husband. Now at-this-point, my husband nor I, had ever been asked to leave the property by Mr. Clark or the Deputies. The only reason we were on the property was at the request of the Deputies.

Mr. Clark was in his vehicle with the engine running. My husband and I and the Deputies were standing at the rear of the police car completing the paperwork when Mr. Clark got out of his truck, walked behind me and began stating, “You are damned ignorant. That’s why you’ll see your kid wind up in the casket.” I stated (without ever turning around or looking at him in his face), “Sir I am not saying anything to you so please do not speak to me.” Mr. Clark would not move and responded, “This is my property and I can do or say what I please.” My husband told him, “Do not to speak to my wife like that.” He began to mock my husband’s speech deficit (Aphasia) and continued to walk closer to him as if he were going to physically attack my husband; who is also an amputee. My husband cursed at him and he in return cursed my husband. My son got out of our car and stated, “You don’t curse my mother or father especially my mother.” Our son also brought to the Deputies attention the “casket” comment (which the Deputies heard); asked them and Mr. Clark if that wasn’t a threat.” I escorted my son to the vehicle and told him to get in and be quiet. He did. The older Deputy got in between my husband and Mr. Clark. Mr. Clark did not back down until the older Deputy raised his voice stating, “Benny, Benny that’s enough.” The Deputy escorted Mr. Clark to his vehicle and Mr. Clark sped off.

I am still very shaken up by the public verbal attack and lack of reasoning Mr. Clark exhibited. This incident occurred in the parking lot where patrons were utilizing the drive-through, customers and employees were inside peering out of the window. I am very concerned about the Trespassing complaint. My husband is a former City of Orangeburg Firefighter, Police Officer and State Corrections Officer. Our son is a rising Senior with no academic or disciplinary problems. We are law abiding citizens who acted with the intentions of bringing our son back to the scene, face the consequences and apologize. I do not encourage anyone to leave the scene of an accident but in this case based on Mr. Clark’s public display of rage, anger and profanity I shutter to think what may have happened if our son would have remained at the scene and encountered
Mr. Clark without his parents present.

This incident occurred in June. In July I wrote McDonald's Corporate office and still have not received a reply. I ask anyone who is in the Columbia area, goes to the Dutch Square movie theatre or any of the neighboring schools to think about which McDonald's they patronize or have their children/teens patronize. When an adult exhibits such out-of-control behavior and uses such "ugly" words; I wonder what he can tell his employees about customer service. It is also my understanding that law enforcement is very familiar with his temperament. Sounds like Mr. Clark is accustomed to being a bully and getting away with it and I guess McDonald's Corporation is focused on their profit margin not the behavior (or lack thereof) of who displays their name and sells their products.

McDonald's sexist advertising

I have recently heard a radio ad for McDonald's. It's the Miss Spend and Mr. Save advertising. I cannot believe that McDonald's would not only create such a explicity sexist ad, but would actuallly produce and air this same sexist ad on the radio. Did someone within their advertising "camp" not think that the stereotype of women spending and men saving, oh, and let's not forget the little blurp at the end, where the female asks to borrow money from the male. Unbelievable. I will make sure I post this complaint on every available website, tweet, facebook, and complaint board that I can find.
