Lifetime Warranty
Purchased Mastercraft Torque Wrench from Canadian Tire in Pincourt, Quebec last year. The wrench was only used once, that's when the ratchet head stripped.
I decided to take it back to Canadian Tire for a exchange seeing it had a "lifetime" warranty but was declined at the customer service counter seeing I no longer had the receipt. The packaging clearly indicated a lifetime warranty however the manager told me a receipt was needed in order to validate the warranty. After spending $75.00 plus tax their so called warranty was crap and so was their wrench!
Please think twice before purchasing anything from Canadian Tire which specifies a "lifetime warranty" because this is clearly false advertisement.

I am glad you made us aware of this issue, but for your own good, always save receipts even if it's just a picture on a memory card in your phone.
A receipt should not be required if a product has a lifetime warranty, period!
This is a business practice sham used by many companies and something should be done to stop it.
Let's face the facts. Companies place "Lifetime Warranties" on products to encourage or entice us into buying their products, not because the product is better or will last a lifetime. Rather, they're aware that many customers will loose the receipt and they will not be liable to replace the "Lifetime Warranty" product should it fail.
No it's not...the warranty will be honoured if you have the receipt. In fact the receipt probably has the warranty stamp. This has happened with us as well (different product). We located the receipt and we got our product exchanged.
need new foot that holds sandpaper
can't get parts for 5 inch random orbit sander. Need new "foot' that holds the 8 hole paper sanding discs in place

Mastercraft - Not made anymore
At Christmas time a few years back my wife bought three sets of Mastercraft Maximum 14.4 Volt Impact Drill Sets, one for myself, and one each for two sons. Each set has had little useage and are, however, now required as we are starting to build a summer home this coming spring.
