MagicJack review: Doesn't work with dsl as promised 222

I bought a Magic Jack last week and found that they offer very bad service. The device does not fully work and the support is very poor. When attempting to get a refund, they denied this to me. And I only bought the device last week. I do not recommend anyone buy a Magic Jack. I rate it as 0/5.

I was charged two times for one years service on 07-14-10.One of the charges needs to be refunded.Magic Jack # [protected]

I used to have cable and switched to DSL. My Magic Jack worked great on cable, but n ow the file won't open. I plug in the MJ and the grey MJ symbol comes up but it won't open to the page where it lists all your calls, etc. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong? Confused

I got the MJ 4months after I had ordered it. I was charged through my credit card the FULL amount without even recieving the damn thing! Does anyone out there know how to get through to customer service>

I have had Magic Jack for a year hooked up to cable. At first it was clear but now there is NOTICABLE ECHO. Sometimes you can hardly hear the other party.

I can make calls, but after a few minutes the call quality is intermitted and then the call drops. It is still good for the answering machine function, that way I don't have to give my cell phone number to work. Save your money and get a real phone.

I bought magic jack 6 months ago. I also bought 5 more years to and i get terrible reception i have huges net for my computer and get great service with them. When I make a call from the computer the person on the other end says I'm real scratchy and their voice is the same.

I wouldnt recommended the magic jack to anyone. Since plugging the magic jack in to my computer I have had nothing but problems with it.

I can't send a fax with Magic Jack. Tested it with land line and it works fine but Magic Jack sends a blank page. When I send a question to a tech I get an answer that they will tell me what's wrong (with their product) if I agree to pay a fee.

Magicjack really sucks it not unlimited because right now i need to pay 1 cent per minute cx i have outbound calling and i tought dat outgoin call is free wow i'm so dissapointed of this product wow just incoming calls are free wow dat is so stupid sorry but is the true ... bad service...

It doesn't. This product and the company behind it are a complete scam. The product is falsly advertised, doesn't work and will waste your time and money.

Our majic jack has not worked for weeks .you get a dial tone you dial the number and then it shuts off. I cannot find any help or number to contact magic jack.

Too many to write here but down to the nut shell this is a rip off and they will not stand by their warranty and they lie. Then the employee would not give me the information to contact the founder, the company, or any address, phone, or her id number so I could report them.

They, Majic Jack, has over billed me and there is no way of getting a hold of anyone. There seems to be no phone number to call and acknowledge my order information or anything. This is no way to run a business.

I have had two units fail in the last 60 days. This technology is not ready for prime time and part of the "cost" is hidden in the software that monitors your use of the internet. This software cannot be easily removed.

At first the service was very good but a month ago I start getting cut in the voice and I can use for regular call anymore.. I access customer services but just a robot answer and did not fix it.. I wont renew and not recommend the service to anyone.. I have switch to Skype and its fine..

After renewing my subscription I lost all in coming calls, I spent hours with there Tec support, still nothing. In addition, they discontinued the do not distureb feature, they also have problems with cell phones calling the MJ number. At most this is a quick scam of your money.

I do not get caller Id and I have done everthing suggested. The live chat people have NO CLUE as to what they are talking about. I switched from Vonage and that was a big mistake. DO NOT buy Magic Jack.

I installed the Magicjack and rite from the start I had bad voice connection. I went online to tech support for 3 hours and they had me make all kinds of changes to my computer but they could not fix the problem. My computer is not that old. Do not buy magicJack. It may not work.

My service was suspended for excessive use. The company has the right to suspend your service at anytime if they feel your use exceeds their guidelines. Read part 6/proper use of the terms and policy.

My magic jack broke shortly after the 30 day trial was over. Also, it only works if you're computer is on.

It worked for about a week and then suddenly stopped working. U might be expecting an important call and u don't even know that your phone has been disconnected for hours. It is a cheap product and they try to sign u up for 5 years up front cuz they know u wont be back after the first year.

Magic jack as a product is merely adequte; you cannot use a fax phone without paying xtra; however the larger issue is you cannot contact them when they cut off service after 1 year after paying for 5 years!

During my conversations, the phone is constantly beeping in the other persons ear. I don't hear it but they do. Can someone help solve this situation because i have tried updates and it does not work.

The device does not work correctly. It causes your computer to take forever to boot up, and will run, and run for the longest time.
When connected to phone, the phone does not work properly. Even my computer speakers do not work now.
Don't order it!

I bought 2 of these things and they work only part of the time, I have spent hours chatting with their so called techs with little success, guess the old saying applies here, you get what you pay for.

I just bought a Magicjack and it ONLY works sometimes. I dial then it would die and the dial tone comes back. I dial it goes silent then I later learned the call went through but I can't hear the other party. I dial then silence follow and the other part gets the call but he can not hear anything.

magic jack admitted to a mistake they did and turned my phone off. They said it would be resolved in 24 hours. It is now been 2 days and they haven't fixed their error yet. They keep telling me to wait. I'm tired of their crap and need my phone back on or a refund

When itworks it works well- however. Almost every call results in other party complaining about "clicking", which causes dropouts in the conversation. I have stopped using Magic Jack for this reason. My internet is Comcast (average download speed measured by SpeakEasy at 18.7 megabits per second.)

When my one year was up with Magic Jack, I didn't renew. I assumed with none payment they would disconnect my number. TODAY I got an email that I had a voice message. I have tried everything. There is no way to cancel, chat with anyone or disconnect the service unless I have the original order number!

asked question on magic jack pros.Did not get an answer . I tried to reply to them to cancel like 4 times . They kept coming back, tried to cancel the credit card No answer When I got my cretit bill, they put a charge of $30 on it . This product may work quite well for person-to-person calls. It DOES NOT, however, work for faxing. Visit their sight, look up FAQ's.

I WAS DUMB ENOUGH TO BELIEVE ALL THOSE MAGIC JACK ADS AND INFO-MERICALS. THEIR PRODUCT WAS A COMPLETE SCAM. IT NEVER WORKED FOR ME. IT'S BEEN FOUR MONTHS AND I STILL HAVEN'T RECEIVED A REFUND FROM THIS SCAM COMPANY THAT HAS NO LIVE CUSTOMER SERVICE REP TO SPEAK TO. IT'S A COMPLETE SCAM !

device not sturdy, broke after purchase. put it in usb port and it actually brobe. needs my money back.

I Bought the magic jack and I gave it to my sister and when I called the number to speak with her the [hone was answeared from somebody in Cairo Egypt. And I cant reach the magic Jack to find out what is going on.

I have current service paid until April of 2009---it doesn't work and I have no service at all---please have Magic Jack contact me at [protected] right away!

This is all scam, the whole thing, how come govt allow a bussiness to be started without the customer service, there is no phone and no proper way to complain about the service the magic jack promise. DONT GET SCAMED BY MAGIC JACK- SHAME ON BORISLOW AND HIS FAMILY

I have a number of voice mail notices on my emails for Magic Jack. When I follow the instructions to retrieve them I am told my password is incorrect, yet when I look at my original stuff that pw is the one that shows up. How do I retrieve my voice mails?
