MagicJack magicjack go

The hardware does not work. They keep telling me to activate the unit to get service. It does not activate. It does not turn on. Finally they offered to accept the unit for return - but I pay the return costs. I refuse. If it does not work - they should replace it!
Why cant they take responsibility for their problems! I have used magicjack for at least 20 years and when working I rank it superior. All I want is for the defective unit to be replaced with an operable one.

MagicJack magicjack go not working

I Purchased and installed Magicjack go yesterday on my Windows 10 machine. Everything worked just fine then. When I got up this AM: my Magicjack no longer worked, no dial tone, nothing, nada! This is promising to be a totally unreliable sham. I paid over $20.00 for the device, $19.95 to port my number and another $21.95 for 911 service. So far I am out over $61.90 for a "service" that don't work! Magicjack worked just fine after I installed and registered my account. My computer restarted last night. When I logged back on: Magicjack was gone. When I clicked on the Magicjack short-cut; my computer told me there was no Magicjack on my machine. When I tried using the Magicjack messaging app here on the Facebook page: the "send" button was conveniently hidden below the botom of a full screen window. I gave Magic jack a rave review on Ebay yesterday, where I purchased it. Now; I have to WASTE even more of my precious time to edit that review to "DO NOT BUY". None of your "faqs" address this problem. Do I have to re-install and register Magicjack every day by navigating a poorly designed system that takes a lot of time for the simple task of "reactivation" that leads you to a page that want's more money to use something I already paid for? I don't expect 100% reliability with this VOIP service. But: 0% is what I have at this time! So far; this "servoce would be considered "pre-beta", no where close to be released into the wild. Having been 100% disabled due to a heart condition, on a fixed income; I can no longer aford $60.00 for an ATT land line

MagicJack magicjack device & support

I bought a new MagicJack device as I was going to have to renew anyway
after buying the device when I had to register it
I got as far as step 2 and it would not go any further
I went online and they asked for the serial number I had to open the item
after everything they then tell me they can not give support for it I than asked if I could transfer the service days to my old unit they said no because it is not active
I then buy a new current unit and they still did not even provide the service days

MagicJack billing and payment

I bought a Magic Jack early this year.
I was in South Carolina time of purchase.
Bought it at Walmart.
I used the phone number on the Walmart Package
They gave me a customer ID # MJ...
The person who connected me was Chris Adams
Phone number [protected]
They told me when connecting, 1year free, 5 year prom and they
added another year.
Total $10.78 plus $118.00
The $10.78 went on my Visa as MJack.
The $118.00 showed billing network 99LLC

The year is now up. To renew they want $65 plus.
Not what I was told.
MJack Cust. Service said I was scamed!
They had no record of the $118.00

I can't call Chris Adams, number not in service.
I am having extreme difficulty calling MJack management.
The wait time is in hours?
What do I do?

MagicJack magicjack go

Magicjack has the worse customer service and warranty I have ever seen. I purchased a magicjackgo, and it worked for a couple of weeks, and then unexpectedly it just quit. We thought it must be our old phone, so we purchased a new phone. Still didn't work. So the phone manual said if we were using VOIP then we needed a filter, so we bought a filter. Still didn't work. Contacted magicjack via chat (no email provided). Whomever it was didn't know English very well. They decided I needed to call my ISP to make sure my ports were not blocked, so I looked forward to an hour long call with Centurylink. Ports were fine. Contacted magicjack again. They decided the device must be defective and we should return it. I would have to pay for a warranty service, and shipping, and ship the device back before they would send me a new one, delaying my service even more. So even though there is a 30 day money back guarantee, and even though the device is warrantied for a year, I still have to pay. Their devices routinely break often, cheap. And if you get a new device, you can't transfer any money you have paid if you got the five year plan. The customer service is really bad and the hardware is bad too. I regret ever doing business with them. I would not do it again. Go to someone else if you can. They are not worth it.

MagicJack magic plus 2014 device

At one time I had this device working, but then it became overheated terribly to the point I was concerned the adapter would indeed possibly cause a fire. I told them about it, they said don't use it and they had replacement for free.. good, but then the shipping fee was more than buying a new one for a phone here with same specs. Did that and it now doesn't overheat. This is a very very well known issue with this particular model of Magic Jack, the adapters were defective. So I get that fixed on my own, then it does get dial tone, but doesn't dial out. I look up support and find many others have same issue after using same adapter with same Magic Jack, all trying dozens of fixes to no avail.. with the only solution a replacement Magic Jack device. I still go ahead and try many ideas to fix it, but like others, it plain doesn't work. So now I call Magic Jack on a chat online. The fellow I talk to is not exactly in a good mood it appears.. he continues to suggest things and I try them with all not working. He then is explaining something and gets angry (sends capital letter and abrupt exclamation points in replies, so I am feeling not too happy either. End of the chat he tells me I have to try to get my service provider to change settings, and it makes zero sense as it worked previously and still does while plugged into the computer, plus it gets the dialtone. Just will not dial out at all. Same as many others describe online, so I say this to him. He tells me I should buy a new one at my expense. NO help from him or the company. They know they are selling defective products (the adapter that ruined the jack) yet give you no recourse to correct this. I saved the conversation, so I could show it to someone as found this man to be rude in nature. I have it should anyone want it. I feel this company should be much more acomodating, as I have been customer for several years, last 2 of which are paid and unused. I still have a year of service, that now I have no way of using. Money is there paid for something I have no way of getting. I didn't use 2 yrs, and have one more (having paid for 5 yrs in advance) and will be out of pocket 100 dollars for service unavailable now that their product is defective!

MagicJack magicjack's limits to "unlimited"

Don't believe "Free 12 Months of Service" on the company's website... they limit the number of calls you can make to 50/day in the fine print (i. e., in section 6 ("Proper Use; Suspicion of Fraud") of the "Subscriber Agreement for Products and Services". We purchased service in February 2017, and started using the service. Then in August, our phone was deactivated without notice. After several calls to Customer Service, someone finally advised us that in section 6 you are limited to 50 calls per day.

We apologized, said we would make alternative use of the MagicJack... and they said we would have to pay for new service.

Great company... we are switching to Ooma!

MagicJack magicjack express

This company product and its service are all a total scam! Stay far away from them. I got fooled by them once, don't wish for anyone else to be fooled and get robbed like I was... Again, don't even think about trying to save some bucks in using a 'cheap' phone services where there is no, absolutely no real customer service or support... All they do is taking your money and running away... All is a big lie or deception! Beware!

I have to agree, bought into it so I could use it in Canada and haven't been so frustrated with anything in my life. No service in Canada and then I was cut off from out going calls. called my own fhone number to see if I could receive a incomming call and reached someone from another Country with a different no. no where close to what I dialed. Been over two months and still can't use majicjack. Spent a lot of time and money for something that doesn't work. Jack

MagicJack magic jack prepaid minutes refund request

When I purchased prepaid minutes to use on my Magic Jack app, I was assured by the Customer Service Rep that I could use those minutes anytime independent of renewing my Magic Jack device. However, today when I tried to use those minutes to make a call I was told I was unable to use them (and technically lost the $64+ balance because my device renewal had expired). I requested then the balance on my account be refunded me or be used towards the renewal, so I could continue making calls. But was firmly denied.
I have dealt with many companies but have never dealt with one so rigid in their attitude towards customers. Magic Jack has refused to refund my funds and have provided no accommodation to have access to it, as most would do with a credit.
Again, I'm writing to request a granting of the said refund. It's the right customer service action. Anything less is unacceptable and will be seen by most, not only as terrible customer service but possibly worse-theft!

MagicJack bad customer service

Purchased a replacement magicJunk Go and received it about mid May 2017. Had problems with it almost immediately. No change to configuration and checked everything over several times. Clearly the unit. Spent hours on the phone and chats and emails with MJ, and have to start back at square on each time. I did have some rally good techs who I know wanted to help (Gregory and Angela), but they didn't have the latitude to do anything to help me out. The only solution they are prepared to offer me for a unit that didn't work correctly from the start was to tell me to pay $14 plus shipping and handling for a warranty replacement. By the time I get it here in Costa Rica it will have cost me about $35.

I'm very frustrated, because I believe in the principle of customer service and clearly they do not. I will not recommend their product to anyone in future.

MagicJack magicjack go

I bought a Magic Jack Go while in the States based on inputs from fellow Americans here in Thailand, where I currently live. I expected, and was told, the process would be no more than 15 minutes. It has now been 2 weeks and no assistance or reaching out to help by Customer Service. I downloaded the software and was at Step 6 of the process when it completely stopped and advised me to reach out to you. I was looking to obtain a 210 area code with a 776 prefix and was just about to enter my credit card information. I have subsequently checked in with my VFW friends here in Thailand and they have shown me that there Magic Jacks work and did so on my AppleMacBook Air using the Safari browser. I need to use this for official business as international calls here are expensive and will not be a viable means for communication. The below is provided: Phillip D. Jones, JUSMAGTHAI, Box R3659, APO AP 96546, Phone [protected].

MagicJack fraud from "magicjack" representative.

On 02/16/2016 I was getting a phone call from MagicJack company said "we have a promotion going on for 5 years contract." His name was Mark Lucent that was what he told me and I noted it. He gave me a phone number to contact him if I have any question or problem. He asked me my credit card number again and I asked him back why do you need my card number again. Then I told him "you should had my card number in the file or your system?" He said to me was " No we never kept the customer's credit card number in file.? Then he told me that it will cost me $165.00 for five years contract. So I did sign the 5 years contract with him on 02/16/2016, then I never thought about it of anything would be go wrong. Until, 02/03/2017 my MagicJack doesn't working. I called the company with a live chat with free different peoples. First twos, were not helpful. They told me to do this to do that but it was not working. Then the third person came on, her name was Nicole. She was very helpful to me very much. She fix the problem with my MagicJack then I ask her about why I can not log in to my account? She ask me a lots of questions then she told me that I was fooled by this man Mark Lucinda for $165.00. The reason why I can not log in to my account was he changed my Id and Password into my account and he renew my contract with MagicJack for only one year that will expired on 05/21/2017. That is how I found out about my account was hacked.
this guy, Mark Lucent gave phone # [protected] to me and confirmation # MJ160216083. I was trying for last three days calling him to this number that he gave me, but no avail. so I left massages after massages, but there was no returned call period.
I'm shocked after I heard that my account was hacked by this person. This would not happen if my MagicJack was working. I really appreciate Mss. Nicole so much for helping me to fix my phone and find out about this. I thought I had 5 years agreement with MagicJack, but unfortunately it is not.
So please help me to find this person and bring him to justice.
I really appreciate very much if you can help me to resolve this matter as soon as possible. thanks again for your time.

MagicJack service renewal charged on 6/23/2016 but service not provided

I had received a one year renewal email and paid 37.73 on 6/23/2016. But ever since that time I am not able to receive my service properly. Whenever I contact they either refresh my device or they say I am supposed to renew with 99 dollars. I am really tired of the repeated failures of your service despite paying upfront. I demand an explanation or will contact proper authorities regarding this.

MagicJack double charge for service, not willing to help

Hello on 10/02/2016 I purchased a MagicJackGo that include 12 months of service for a total of $53.90 US, MagicJack order number #TS69012634 This was charged to my credit card on 10/05/2016.

On 10/18/2016 a second charge from MagicJack to my credit card was made for the amount of $46.35 US. After contacting MagicJack through the live chat between October 31 and November 01 I was told that MagicJack had no records of a $46.35 US charge. I was told by the live chat representative to contact my credit card company to have that charge removed. I followed these instructions. I was refunded this amount by the credict card company.
After a few days I couldn’t use Magic Jack service any more, I contacted MagicJack over the phone, I was transfer to collections department, and they told me that the service was stopped because I cancel the payment, something that I was told to do by the chat line. I received an email from collections department explaining the situation, I replied back with the proof of the credit statement a week ago and I have not heard back from MagicJack But I still have one charge from magicJack for $53.90 that was made on October 05/2016 and no service. Can you please look into this?

MagicJack fraud

I received a call with a majicjack number [protected] whom told me they worked with Microsoft and had to fix the program I had purchased. Which I did purchase a program from Microsoft. I allowed this individual onto my computer and he hacked it. This individual wanted money from me $1, 000.00 to restore my computer back. I said I don't have any money. This person seen my checking account which only had $105.19 in it. I went to my bank to cancel my checking account and the lady at the bank even heard what this person was saying to me. I told this person I was going to go to the Police Station as well due to the fraud he was committing. This person laughed at me and said I couldn't do anything because he lived in Pakistan. I am notifying television stations, radio stations and newspapers in regards to this issue. I want something done with this! This is total fraud and a felony. I will have the television stations and all whom I contact regrading this issue that the number is a Majic Jack number. I want something done about this ASAP! Yes, all my documents are gone off my computer and it couldn't be restored. Dell is charging me $40.00 for a usb port with Windows 7. I had to pay Microsoft Techs $99.00 whom could not fix my computer. I am totally pissed off!

MagicJack internet phone

I have had Magic Jack for about 5 yrs., without much success. The first two years, I used it as my main phone. It dropped calls constantly and the audio was terrible. Finally, I went back to my former phone company and kept the MJ for overseas calls.in Oct. 2015, my contract was up and I decided that I no longer wanted their service. I received notice that my service was not active. I thought that because I didn't renew, that would be it - WRONG! In Jan. 2016, I received an invoice from a cancelled credit card and was charged $52 from MJ for another year's service. I called MJ and after explaining my problem, the person I spoke to told me that they did not renew me and that something was fishy. He said that somebody had committed fraud and that I probably had a bad virus on my computer called Koobface. He said he would transfer me to a Microsoft technician. That tech named Alex, who claimed he was with Microsoft, came on the phone and told me that he needed to check my computer for the virus and all of a sudden, he was on my computer without me having to sign him in. He told me that I did in fact have the horrible Koobface worm and that it would crash my whole system along with my Apple devices. They are called Toler Tech LLC. He scared me into letting him work on my computer for an hour to fix this virus to save my devices from crashing. The fee was to be $250. When he claimed he was finished fixing the problem, he told me that I could pay by electronic cheque and for that price my computer and other devices would be monitored for viruses for as long as I wanted. I thought because he was with Microsoft, it was legit. WRONG!
After I got off the phone, I had a an uneasy feeling and decided to check them out on the net - their site seemed to be legit, but then decided to call Microsoft and was told that I had just been scammed. I immediately did the proper things to protect myself, my computer and my bank account. I also did some research and toler tech, who is based in India, but tell you that they are in Iowa, seem to be scammers. They called me with threats to send me to collections etc... And ruin my credit rating. They have called me twice to try to intimidate me, with no luck on their part. I then called MJ and spoke to two different people and asked why one of their employees would have transferred me to a scamming outfit. I was told that they did not do that and when I argued with them, they hung up. Then I decided to go on their live chat. I chatted with three different women and they all were fine with wanting to help me with issue # 1 to cancel the charge for another year, which I did to want. But when we got to issue # 2, which was my question of why one of their employees would transfer me to scammers, they all of a sudden couldn't see my messages anymore. All three of them kept saying - you need to give me your issue, you are not answering me - are you there? I was answering but they were saying they couldn't see anything on their side. Once, maybe. Twice, could be a coincidence - three times, I don't think so - very strange and no one will convince me that MJ is not in kahoots with this toler tech outfit. I feel that the toler tech guy got into my computer via the MJ desk top dialing icon. I will be reporting this story to the proper people.
