Madison Who's Who Won't stop calling

I made the mistake of applying online for their "free listing" that would have costed about $600.00 - which they only tell you after a long lengthly interview where one presumes they are writing a very flattering and in-depth resume. I politely declined, but now they keep calling early (for me) in the morning, waking me up, and with the same canned speech try the same old sale. I'm not polite anymore. I asked to speak with a supervisor and he claimed to be one then jumped right back to his script. I yelled, hung up, and am now going to do as much as I can to stop them online. Can anyone help me?

They won't stop calling, I've declined their services numerous times, each person has the same lines they just want to get get your information, they sound very shady and demanding, I was even told I wasn't a professional because I wouldn't provide my information and follow through with their interview, they said I was nominated, I told them to take me off there database, I was polite, then not so polite to being downright dismissive however they keep calling. Business Owners beware. I don't know what their angle is but is there anyone I can report them to?

Madison Who's Who unauthorized bank withdrawal

Company emailed me to congratulate me on my selection to its 2008 "honors book". They wanted +$900 for this privilege (which would include a free RT airfare ticket to selected desinations). Wanting to network, I bargained the deal down to about $200 for 2-year membership. Several months later, I received a call from the "managing editor" who continued to flatter my background and ended with saying that I had now paid the balance due of +$440! I said we had no agreement to do that, so he replied that the funds had already cleared my account and hung up. I then reported this as bank fraud, immediately emailed Madison and told them to replace the funds into my account immediately. Met with bank rep to close that account and reopen another. Because it was fraud, the bank credited my account with that +$440 and said the fraud dept would take it from there.
What a cheesy, sleezy scam.

"Minde Oaf" I find it hard to believe that you did not know that you were signing up. You went through a whole interview process, agreed to a membership and then proceeded to provide a credit card number in order to purchase the membership. Seeing that you have stated that you did receive your Welcome Package, you should clearly understand that you did purchase a membership. Also, stated in the Welcome Package, which you said you read, you would have seen that there is a Live Chat feature that you receive for free for 60 days after which if you do not cancel you do get charged. Had you called us to cancel, instead of posting a false complaint, the matter could have been resolved without any issues for either party. The only reason you would have a "real hassle" canceling your account is due to the fact that even though you had all of the information provided you chose to ignore it and place the blame on the company. Any complaint/cancel request sent to the company is dealt with immediately, that is what Customer Service is for, not Complaints Board. You made no effort to contact the company with any questions or concerns and only you are at fault for that.

For future reference, in order to contact Madison Who's Who, with any questions, concerns, cancel requests or any reason, use one of the following:

Unfortunately I was caught up in this. received a call was pressured into accepting membership after I hung up I felt buyers remorse within a half hour I called back to cancel and was told that someone would call me back within a half hour AS YOU KNOW NO CALL BACK! I immediately contacted my bank who informed me that CKCARD SOCIETY for EXEFLUSHININ NYUS had processed for payment. I went through the process of dispute but have to wait 15 days before charges can be disputed. I call back again to Madison who's who's and after being shuffled to 4 people reach some one named M Larsen who was rude and short and claimed "processed in 48 hours" no other statement and I asked processed what? he said refund WE WILL SEE. My advise Don't get involved with this company obviously it is Who's Money can we take . Not to mention that they are very unprofessional in the way they handle customers, should of been a tip off. My business will survive without Unprofessional solicitation -Lesson learned next time my business manager is out of office don't take the call.

I fell for their tactics and they signed me up for an account on their website without telling about it. They kept charging me for the account even though I never actually used account. A couple of months later, I noticed this charge on my credit card statement. When I look through the paperwork they sent me, there was a page about the web account, but stated a much lower rate. I tried to get them to cancel the account, it was a real hassle.

Anyway, don't fall for those guys.

Madison Who's Who Unauthorized credit card charges

A few months ago, i got a phone call from a representative of madison who's who saying that i am elected as a member of the year. I was foolish enough that it is a flattering experience, and i paid more than $600 for 5 year membership. The representative said that i just simply pay additional $200 or so to become a life - time member when i want to, but there won't be any additional charges. Two months later another representative called and said that they will charge $299 for annual book. I got another call 2 days ago, and i was told that i am invited for a vip member. So, i said "no thanks!" but i realized that they still charged $218. 95 against my credit card. I called my credit card company and requested depute for the amount.

I searched comsumer reports to find out whether there are other cases, finding out there are too many to ignore this scam. Mostly they have never received any services that they claimed that they would provide. I would like to know what can be done to stop this.

I have worked with Bristol Who's Who and 99.9% of all the stories that are shared here I have experienced to be true. There is no doubt that these folks from Madison Who's Who now Bristol Who's Who are milking the crap out of a system that is too slow to catch this unprofessional, slime-ball operation in New York City. It's time that both potential customers and employees (contractors) be protected from these sharks. What can be done - Close them down like what happened to Madison Who's Who. Look at the similarities of both management and patterns. You don't have to be a rocket-scientist to see foul and fraudulent behavior while scamming people of their hard earned cash. Name names and let's do something to stop the spread of their disease of greed.

Madison Who's Who first contacted me after I had partially filled in an application online when I was on my LINKEDIN website. I'm not sure but it may have been a popup. As I had given my cell number in the preliminary information, I received a call the following day requesting the information I had not completed. At the end of the call I was totally surprised when I was told about the membership fee. These guys are hard dealers and eventhough I do not like to give my credit card information on the phone I felt myself foolishly obliged to do so because of the length of the call and all the technical information I had given. It was all so foolish.
I agreed on a 3 year membership. I never received a formal membership welcome note giving all my membership conditions. I tried to open my account on their webpage and was unable to do so. I called them and was told that that section was under maintenance. Days afterwards I got a call telling me that there was an extra fee for the Press Release $339.95. When I checked my account I had also been debited for the $199 for a hard copy publication.
I do not remember being told about these extra charges when I signed up with Madison otherwise I would never have done so. I wrote Kevin Calloway complaining about these debits and requesting to have my membership revoked as I am no longer interested. I requested being reimbursed and have not received a reply since.
Beware of these people!

I wish I had done more research into these people. I feel so stupid. Like others have said, they make you feel so special and then make you feel like you don't have the option to say no. I haven't received any of the products I paid for and supposedly I am getting a partial refund. They refuse to give me a full refund, even though the "press release" hasn't even been published. Huge ripoff, especially when there are other networking sites that FREE. Stay away from Madison Who's Who.

This job is a pure SCAM in training I did not know that I would be scamming people out of their money. The owner Scott Minuta and floor manager Kwaku Edisu (ignorant ### who also goes by Kevin Edwards) basically taught us after we passed training that scamming the people we call isn't that bad "because they're rich". Employees are under paid and someone is fired every Friday. A new set trains every Monday. Our first check isn't until the 3rd week (if you last that long) and we get our paid training on week 5. This job pays very little salary (300$) plus commission starts at 15% of all your sales for 2 weeks. After that you have to sell at least $1001 just to get 5% commission. We have to start work at exactly 8:30 until 5:30 1hour break . They monitor all of our bathroom breaks and any other time spent away from our computer that we make our illegal calls on. It's like a telemarketing sweat shop! And the HR head Cindy Hayes (pretty in the face OBESE in the waist) is a fat ### that sits and gossips on personal calls all day until lunch. She is very rude and shares employees personal problems with her office mate Sherri who isn't too bad of a person. Cindy is down right ghetto and Rude! I am glad a made little to no sales because I feel terrible about the people I scammed before I knew the truth! Most people were smart enough to decline without reasearch but very few weren't. Oh yeah and I almost forgot THEIR PAYCHECKS BOUNCE! I was warned not to put it in my bank account by an older employee so I took it to the local check cashing place only to be told by the teller that they don't cash MWW checks because they bounce too often SMH! Meanwhile Scott drives a Porche! Long story short thia company is nothing but bad news! Staying for 5 weeks was brutal! Pictures of the inside scam shop coming soon!

I was nearly conned into this company. I went in for training for two days. We were forced to read sales pitches out loud and practice with each other. I started doing research on them and realized just what I was getting myself into. I would not like someone scamming me out of money so I would not do that to someone else, especially not a senior citizen. These people need to be shut down immediately. They prey on innocent young/middle aged people trying to get a decent job and you end up working for free at least three to five weeks without pay. A real company would pay you in two weeks.

STAY AWAY. I will not be attending my final training day to take a stupid phone test. Off to job search for a better opportunity.

I worked at MWW for 2 weeks and quit. The trainer Kwaku Edisu (or his fake name Kevin Edwards) says " get the money" and outright said " f*** the client just get the credit card."I then realized this place is an unprofessional boiler room aimed at scamming people out of hundreds of dollars for a product that doesn't exist. We were also advised to call ourselves ' senior editors' and use fake names so we aren't liable for any issues that arise. We had a bulletin rebuttal board in front of us with rebuttals to most customer queries . The owners drive around in expensive cars and pay their employees next to nothing. I hightailed it out of there and never looked back. DONT BUY ANYTHING THEY WILL CONYINUD TO BILL YOU. DONT WORK THERE- THE JOB ISN'T AS ADVERTIZED. IT'S A COMISSION BASED TELEMARKETING SCAM AIMED AT HARD SELLING INDIVIDUALS INTO PURCHASING A PRODUCT THAT DOES NOT EXIST. BUTER BEWARE.
