Lowe's paid for grill received broken dirty grill now they wont give us a delivery date for new one

We went to the store on May 20th after going two times to front desk and telling them finally if they did not get someone to the grill area to take our order we would not be buying a 500.00 grill from them. Finally someone took the order. We were told we would be getting it deliverd on May 27th between 9am and 11 am...the truck brought us a filthy dirt and scratched grill with the wheel bracket falling off on its way down our driveway. Can I get a date for a new one? Driver don t know. We go to the store and speak with a Manager. Who hasnt a clue we did not get the grill has no idea when we will get another. I will call you tomorrow says the manger that was Monday its now Thursday no one wants to call with the information. I went online and received from [protected]@lowes.com and file number that they would help us... that was on Tuesday...you will get a resolve within 24 hours we have spoken to the head manger on this. No one not anyone wants to tell us when we get the grill we paid 500.00 for. I also have submitted a complaint to Better Business Bureau I would like to see them give me a new grill and I tell them hey one of these days I will pay you for it just wait for my calll yea right. This is awful I will never deal with this company again they have no service for their customers

Lowe's samsung refrigerator

Dear Lowes, My name is A. Brockman. I give you my name because your Customer Service Department is very familiar with me. I purchased a new Samsung refrigerator from you in May, 2012, the refrigerator stopped working the middle of April 2013. The refrigerator had a 1 year manufactures warranty and I also purchased the additional 4 year warranty. 5 weeks ago the refrigerator was deemed unrepairable and weekly I have been promised that your company would replace it. As of today it has been 43 days since the refrigerator was reported to you that it had stopped working. I have received nothing but lies from your company on the replacement. I am now entering my 7th week without a working refrigerator. I purchased your product in good faith that If I had a problem that your company would take care of it. I was dead wrong, your company could care less about the customer when they walk out of the door. I want my refrigerator replaced and the contents that were lost in it.

Lowe's not working

We bought a house that came with a harbor breeze ceiling fan with a dome light and another light feature above it, remote controlled. The remote control was missing when we bought the house and the fan wouldn't work with any universal remotes until recently we found one that worked. It works enough to turn on the light and the fan but you can't change the speed of the fan, and it stays on the slowest setting. It's in the main family room area where we need the most breeze from the fan due to the hot AZ summers. I can't find the fan being sold anywhere - it's been in the house probably for 8 years. I need to get the fan to work to the fullest speed but no one can seem to help or look into it. Any advice?

Lowe's returns

What to say ? Lowes ?
all i wanted was to return a couple of parts. store credit was fine.
"no" is not an answer i wanted to get.
the employees tried to do the right thing but the company sucks. I was unable to return items not needed following a job. NO. was the answer.
After contacting corp and several emails, they offered to help me make the returns. not for anyone else, JUST ME ! Make me feel special.
I told LOWES NO! . Not interested in even going there to make a return. No. Please make your manager stop calling me. when i ask for help i get blown off. when i complain i get all the attention but the problem is not fixed.
LOWES ... HEY LOWES ...
i do want to use your stores. i do. I wont though. I will not use a company that changes policies as you choose. to use a company who does not value its customers. to use a company that even irritates small businesses like mine.
Sorry Lowes. thanks for the emails, the calls, the nice notes. Stop calling. too late too little. For the return af $5-10 worth of unused, unopened items you lost a contractors business.

Lowe's hurt on job

I started Lowes on Feb 16, 2013, which is on a Saturday. The following Friday around 30 minutes starting my shift I was unloading some paint in the isle off of a pallet. I done around 12 boxes of 4gallons of paints and I picked one up from the bottom and I picked it up right and about halfway up something pulled in my back. Now I have pulled my back before but this seemed worse. I have never claimed a injury anywhere, not out to screw the company over, I really hurt myself. I tell them and they just look at me with scared stupid look. Go to the office and tell Jeryll, and he was in shock also. So they took drug test and filled out some papers and ask me about going to doctor then. I was in pain but said no, I will see how I feel over the weekend and call you Monday. I stayed in bed all weekend and I was miserable, so when Monday came I called to see about making an appointment to there doctor. The first thing that comes out of there mouth was I have 2 witnesses saying you hurt your back before. Now, I did say I had hurt my back before but not like this. So needless to say he said I needed to come up there asap where he can see me and decide if I need to go to there doctor. I couldn't believe it, I hurt myself on there job, on there time and there treating me this way. I didn't go up there, hell I couldn't even put on my socks and shoes. So I just decided to stay home, they are not a doctor, how could they tell me if I could go to a doctor. I used to buy everything from them but Home Depot just got my business and everyone I come across, because I'm going to tell them how they done me. I always try to do whats right, not to do people wrong and treat people with respect. I am still in" all "about the whole situation. I took this job to do on the side, evenings from 5-9pm, and it ends up costing me a lot more than 1 weeks pay. Its a shame the way things are anymore, enough said. Thanks for reading.

What is L&I

Update by Bradley Creamer
Feb 27, 2013 4:24 pm EST

It was 4 gallons in a box, and no believe you me if I would have done it somewhere else I would have known. There was a whole pallet was about 1/3 of the way through it. I have worked in construction for 15 years being a painter, tape and bed, texture, ect. Thought I would make a little side money and screwed me up. I thought maybe it would go away over the weekend, but i was mistaken. I sure am glad you know how I feel, because there is one thing I know for sure is that if it is'nt you, you don't understand. Well I'm only 37 and really had anything wrong, not like this has been hurting. I wasn't unwilling to go to doctor, I asked if it was still bad Monday I would go, then I called them and they didn't seem to want to send me. I never had pain like this before in my back, i honestly thought maybe it would quit hurting in a few days.

Lowe's i'm tired of big box stores that have all these chinese products

I had gone to Lowes after having gone to Home Depot to purchases some ladders. I picked up some Husky ladders for my crews (home and commercial renovation) and man was I dissapointed. These pieces of junk broke down within a week and they're made in China. I could have gone with a good ladder made in America (like I thought Husky was) and paid about the same, but I made a bad decision and bought from these guys. They don't care about the quality of their products and I had to go elsewhere to get some quality ladders. I'm tired of big box stores that have all these Chinese products. Never again.

Lowes rip off consumer with coupons...check your reciept they won't let you use more than 1 coupon ..and your lucky if they do that right...after 3 attempts of using manufacturers coupons along with a 10% off Lowes coupon...it just didn't save me any money - I am tired of arguing with the customer service desk. One time the cashier actually added the cost of the coupon to my purchase instead of deducting...stay away from Lowes..pricing is way too high..long live Home Depot.better pricing and service.

One of the worst rider mower ever built by MTD. Its a piece of junk and is not worth it

The machine is build very poorly by substandard workmanship. Bought mine from Lowe's and ran for 1/2 hour and broke down. Was told to call 1-800 number and schedule a repair. They had local authorized dealer picked up the unit and after two weeks told me that the warranty would not cover the cost of repair because the brake padel was pushed too hard causing safety switch to break. The cost $150.00 for repair and pick up and drop off. Lowes would not pay the charges. Secondly ran for 1 hour and then would not start, had the dealer pick up and found out the safety switch on PTO was faulty. They repair the switch and brought it back. It ran for one more hour and would not start.

In the mean time I have been in constant contact with Lowe's local store and corporate office but no one will call me back only to promise that someone will contact you.

I finally picked up the phone and call me credit card company and put all charges on DISPUTE. Within 24 hours I get a call from local store and manager wanting to make a deal and asked me to come down and upgrade the rider to John Deere LA115.

These are the same people who claimed to be so customer service oriented but do not stand by it.

I have decided not to ever shop at Lowe's

Lowe's employee

January 13, 2013

Dear Lowe’s Corporate Office Staff,

My name is Sam Campbell, a dedicated employee since April 2005, of which I have worked as a Commercial Sales Specialist for the last six years in Dedham Store 1914. During this time I have had over 55 senior managers of which I have always had the greatest respect for them and their positions. The management focus has always been that customer service is number one. Our Dedham store gone GOLD the last three consecutive years based on the senior management survey, the Pro Services has increased budget and comp for the last five years, with the exception of this year.

On December 20th I had a yearend performance meeting with our new Zone 3 Manager (Tom Y) who came on board in September 2012. During the meeting we were discussing operational procedures, how to increase Sales and my commercial accounts, when our of the blue he leaned back in his chair and stated “ If things didn’t change in Pro Services, you could be a cashier in the three months”. He failed to elaborate on any specifics and after an exchange of views I felt intimidate and disrespected and stated that the next meeting would be with Mike.

On December 21st, 2012, I had a meeting with Mike the Store Manager and share the information concerning my meeting with Tom and he informed me that he would take care of the situation. At this point I felt that the issue was being resolved.

After my meeting with Tom, I over heard a rumor stating that Tom had said that he is going to get rid of me .When I heard this it confirmed my previous feelings that he was a racist and would use any excuse to rid of me.

On personal note, it took me seven month to decide to donate a kidney to a non family member to save a person’s life, which I felt good about. I request medical leave for six weeks to start after January 11th, 2013. Tom was informed that I would be going out of on medical leave. My operation for the Kidney donation is scheduled for January 15th, 2012.

On January 11th about 2:30, the last hour of my job shift, Tom stated that he was writing me up for poor performance. Out of the eight years that I have been working for Lowes, this is the first write up I have received.
I feel that this write up was inappropriate and invalid and the results of my requesting a meeting with Mike.

He stated the reason why I was written up because I have 35 managers account which were currently updated, that I have made several attempt to contact customers, which is his excuse to write me up.

After eight years with Lowes as a dedicated employee, why would a manager write you up on the last hour of work when you are going out on medical leave to donate a kidney. This is not the image that I have of Lowes during my employment and that Tom projected a invalid image of Lowes. I feel that this matter has been mismanaged due to Tom’s lack of management experience, which is why I am bringing this matter to your attention.
Thank you

Sincerely yours,

Sam Campbell

Lowe's account to collections

My business partner opened a credit account at the store. We asked for a revolving charge. What was set up was a pay in full account. We did not get a bill for 60 days. My office manager had to call to have them fax over a bill two months in a row. Four months pass (yes should have called sooner) and I call to get changed to revolving charge. I was told that was not possible. So I asked to make payment arrangements so the account would not go to collections in three weeks. I explained that we worked Hurricane Sandy and the insurance companies have not paid us yet and when they did we would pay in full but in the meantime I was able to make weekly payments if that would keep us out of collections. I was told they would accept my payments (of course) but could not guarantee it would not go to collections. I explained I was trying to work with them to get this paid but I was not being given any options. Regardless of my proactive efforts to make arrangements and despite the STORE EMPLOYEE who told us it would be a revolving charge, I was basically told 'm screwed unless I could pay the full balance of the account. I spoke to a 17 yr credit supervisor who was obviously not empowered in the LOWES SYSTEM to accommodate a customer willing and wanting to take care of this account. Terrible customer service in the credit department and has a store employee that did not follow thru or inform us correctly. I will now pass my business to Home Depot from now on.

Lowe's exploding fan light kit

We purchased a Harbor Breeze ceiling fan with light kit for use in our boys bedroom. Within the first month of the fan being installed, one of the bulbs literally exploded showering glass all over the beds. A few weeks later, another bulb exploded -- then the protective bulb covering exploded. At this time, we have been unable to find anyone from either Lowes or Litex (the manufacturer of Harbor Breeze) to address this problem.

Lowe's unethical practices to increase revenue

Lowe's, a large credit card service (working through GE) does not allow customers to pay in advance through any type of recurring payment or automatic payment method. This is done to increase revenue. Lowes does not allow online automatic or even allow one to submit recurring payments through a bank through ebills. As they accept online payments, they have all the information needed and the capability to allow the scheduling of automatic payments but refuse to do so. This increases revenue through late fees and interest also charged on deferred-interest promotional periods. This is disgusting, unethical business practice.

Tired_of_Stupid: It appears you're the stupid one when you can't see what the point of the post is. It is NOT about ability to pay a bill that is not automatic. As said, It's common practice now and all the information needed is already given by the customer and they do have the capability.
Say 20 years ago one of the largest hardware chains decided not to except MAIL and required it to be hand-delivered to the store to make it more inconvenient and thus get more money. It's the same thing. Yes, when I have everything set up autopay, (about 20 different payments) it's annoying when this one company won't, but the point is the REASONING! If you want to make a relative comment on the post why don't you all comment to that - what's the REASON in them doing this. If anything... it's AT LEAST poor customer service. And yes, definately their ethics are called in to question as well...

There is nothing ethical about the banking or credit industry these days. And any GE credit line is to be totally avoided. They've mastered all the methods for making your payments late - one way or another. Never ever deal with them.

Lowe's product support

I purchased del conco tiles from lowes, lincoln street, worcester, massachusetts. I ran short on tiles that I need to finish the floor in my kitchen and lowes will not, I repeat will not get me more tiles, even though they have them in another store. They told me to get in my car and drive 700 miles if I wanted them or needed them. What a way to do business with someone who buys everything from trash bags to siding to flowers for there home. Now I will start doing business with home depot. Lowes is aweful to do business with. They have the product at one of there stores, but they will not send me two cases of tiles so that I can finish the project that I started. I sent emails and have made phone calls and know of these folks will back the product that they sold me. Once you buy from them thats it, you can't go back and say I need more.

Since Lowes did not do the measuring, you did, no one is at fault for the shortage of tiles but you. The fact that Lowes can no longer order them is not their fault, it is a manufacturer issue. The fact that they will not foot the bill to ship additional tiles to their store for free is also not unreasonable. It is on you to go get them.

You're the one that mismeasured. They weren't.

But that aside, quit wasting your time. Get in the car and go get the additional tiles because tiles are only available for a limited time after which they are no longer made and they become available NO WHERE!

Lowe's policy

Lowes needs to educate there employees on policy. Talked to 6 different employees (Some supervisors) in a 24 hr period. Three said they do not honor other competitor s coupons, 3 said yes they do. The day before they let my friend use his home depot coupon. I came back the next day with my measurements to make purchase. Product was not in stock either was my other 3 needed items. Shop store for additional 45 mins to use my savings pass. Went to checkout denied said they dont match other stores. I told them who told me it was matchable. Basically was told to call corporate and have them call the store. My friend could not believe it. I will call corporate also tv consumers reporters and ohio attorney general office. You think I am going away daniel p. Sorry I will be your new best friend or nightmare. As a supervisor teach your employees your policies.

Lowe's lack of moral responsibility

Dear Lowes,

I am writing to express my profound disappointment in your Lowes Store (number: 1035), 2194 State Route 35, Holmdel, NJ 07733, [protected]. As you may be aware, the Northeast United States is preparing for Hurricane Sandy and the expectation is that New Jersey is going to receive a direct hit. As a result, many citizens are making their preparations for this storm and are visiting your stores to purchase many needed items, to include gas generators.

At approximately 3:30 PM today (Oct. 27) the Holmdel Lowes received 240 gas generators, and as you can image, a large line formed (from front to back of store) and MANY people hoped to purchase one of these gas generator. Needless to say the demand was high; however, your Lowes store chose to allow contractors to purchase large quantities (multiple units) of these gas generators and caused many people to to go without.

I am completely disgusted by the actions of your store. It would have been fair to allow one gas generator per customer. I know that the cost of these generators were approximately $800; however, I am now seeing them being sold in the local area on Craig's List for $1, 500 to $2, 500 dollars each. I expected much more from Lowes, but now I am disgusted by what I saw and will not be shopping there any more. See Attached Photos!

Lowe's failure to perform as advertised

The stove was delivered on Saturday. The delivery personnel were supposed to connect and make sure the new stove worked, etc. The stove was not connected because they did not have the right size connector needed to hook up to the gas line; said the one I had on the old stove was too old and not the right size. Told me to call a plumber. No ability to cook any meals Saturday, Sunday and until I can get a plumber. Any money saved by buying from Lowe's is now a moot point because I now have to pay a plumber to hook up the stove. No one gives a rats behind, but I appreciate being able to state my complaint here. Thank you My new range that Lowe's got paid for 2 weeks ago looks good, sitting in the kitchen just taking up space. Good thing I have a coffee pot and microwave.

Lowe's maytag front loading washer

Purchased a front loading "Maytag" now made by "Whirlpool" washer less than 3 years ago, along with an EXTENDED 4 year warranty. The washer died, service tech came out and replace one part, which did not fix the problem, turned out the cpu/brain/computer needed replaced. Waited a week and a half to find out that they considered it "uneconomical to repair" and were going to refund my money on a Lowe's gift card so I could purchase another one ... Well for starters warranty to me means repair or replace not refund, and I purchased it during a "black friday sale" after Thanksgiving, so the amount they're refunding won't allow me to purchase another one of the same caliber, is this how they treat everyone or just disabled senior citizens who are now on a fixed income ?!

Lowe's service and products

After spending a substantial amount of money on kitchen cabinets, not too mention the number of times I needed to go to the store to meet with their kitchen planner I am very disappointed with the service and commitment to make sure the cabinets were installed as they should be. I also feel the planner steered me into more expensive options that were unnecessary and in some cases impractical for the space. This and a number of other instances at Lowes in the Nashville market have convinced me that I should have remained a loyal Home Depot customer.

Lowe's and Home Depot do cabinet installation the same way.
When you go to the store the kitchen planner takes the information you provide or they come to your kitchen and measure the space open for remodeling. They fit the area with as many cabinets as they can in every ugly configuration to get in the maximum number of cabinets. If you don’t like the looks of the arrangement the answer is one has to have the cabinets arranged so they will screw together as a unit. +++++You pay for the cabinets++++ to be delivered to your home on a certain day. THEY ARE DONE. THE END OF STORY. THEY HAVE NOTHING ELSE TO GAIN FROM YOU. SCRAM.

The cabinets arrive and are stacked out of the way waiting for the installer. He cannot make it the day Lowe’s arranged due to a prior commitment but he will schedule you in two weeks. He arrives in two weeks with a full crew with equipment and everything to do the job. When he unpacks the boxes the cabinets they are not what you ordered and not what you want. You call the kitchen planner at Lowe’s, the one you worked with is off, and another apologizes and becomes familiar with the lay out. The alternate planner will order the right numbers this time and all other attachments the installer says he needs to install the cabinets.
Two weeks later more cabinets arrive. You call the installer and set a date. He is not happy about this because he is not being paid for this second appointment. He agrees to see you in two weeks. He arrives with full crew and equipment and begins the installation. He becomes hateful when he try’s to install the cabinets with the attachments he has been provided. You call Lowe’s and THEY DO NOT WANT TO TALK TO YOU, THEY HAVE FINISHED THE SALE.
The installer blames Lowe’s and Lowe’s blames the installer. You end up with an ugly kitchen with cabinets installed with jury rigging.

This is a true story. My name is J. Skaggs the condo I was having remodeled was for my daughter on Waller ave. in Lexington. Ky when she was going to grad school.

Home Depot designers do the same thing. Next time go to the storre and get the brochures and sit down and do the planning yourself. Its really not that hard to do and is quite fun. Pencil, eraser, graph paper and a tape measure are all you need. And you'll get just what you want and the best use of the space you have.
