Lowe's customer veterans discount (dis) service

I need two 50 Gallon gas water heaters because we recently had a heater fail in our attic and caused considerable damage. Not Lowes' problem. I decided to replace them with Lowe's Whirlpool 50 Gallon, 9 year warranty, Item #: 592559 | Model #: 50T9-40NG I went to Lowe's in Hammond, LA but they only had one and it had a damaged box and dent in the side. I called the Metairie, LA store, talked to Customer Service and learned that they had 7 in stock. At the time I asked if they had a veteran's discount and told them that I am a veteran but have no " Veterans" picture ID card but I have a copy of my discharge and a picture ID driver’s license. I was told that that would work and to bring them when I make a purchase. I drove the 60 miles to Metairie, loaded a water heater on a flat cart and went to check out at Register #1. The clerk informed me that I needed a veteran’s picture ID I told her that I had already called Customer Service at that store and was told that my DD 214 and Driver’s license would work. The clerk would not accept that or give me the Veterans Discount on her authority. She made 4 or 5 different phone calls to different people trying to get someone to make a decision and approve the “override” over the course of the next 10 minutes. Meanwhile, the line of customers behind me was growing with other potential customers. I was embarrassed. I asked for the Manager. The clerk called someone and told them the situation and that I wanted to speak to them. After another 5 minutes with no authority figure showing up at register #1, I decided to shop elsewhere and register this complaint. Attached is a picture of one of my new water heaters that I purchased from Home Depot. By the way, Home Depot had NO PROBLEM giving me the Veteran’s discount with my DD214 and Driver’s license. This is the second and last time that I will be embarrassed at Lowe’s while trying to use your advertised veteran’s discount. I won’t put myself through that again I assure you. Jerry read the lowes website before you spout off the veterans discount is 3x per year memorial day, 4th of july, and veterans day there policy is crystal clear ...Military discount with service connected va picture id, retired or dependent with a valid (not expired) id or active duty with valid id get a discount everyday...As you posted your comments on 10/14 clearly it was not one of the veteran discount holiday...

Lowe's remote control for light and fan

I'm a "call it to fix it for whatever it is" type of person. So, it came as no surprise when my son's step-mom and I were talking about the fan in my son's room and how I magically "fixed" his ceiling fan and light that go to a remote control. So, she asked if I minded fixing her daughter's fan and light with remote control. I said, "Sure, no problem." However, there seems to be no fix to this problem. There should be a website for Harbor Breeze customers that contains a link that easily explains how to reset or "fix" the remote control that goes to the ceiling fan and light.

Lowe's personal check denial

I purchased a $500 gift card at Lowe's on 10/6/15. Store number #2345, Lexington, Ky. I politely asked if Lowe's accepted personal checks and the cashier confirmed they did. I should have been told that it was up to some goofy company named Certigy. I gave them a personal check and provided all identification they asked ONLY to have the check declined by some company called Certigy. I should be asking for their Identification! Now, Certigy in order to complain with them want oh you know such things as My name and address, my phone number, my checking account number, my bank. Why in the blue blazes would I ever give them that?! Lowe's needs to learn to do business locally the old fashioned way...earn it. Lowe's is now on my "blank" list and everyone I know will hear of this transgreission on personal rights.

Lowe's crosswinds ceiling fan

Purchased two ceiling fans three years ago; turned off one of the fans one morning and when turned on at night, the fan remote would not work, nor would the pull chains operate the fan and light. Replaced the fan receiver and remote, along with the motor switch. This worked, but the fan speeds are no where near what they were when the fan had original parts -- now the highest speed is as slow as the original lowest speed -- that is it -- no more, no less -- barely moves air. The second fan has been working wonderfully! I am going to replace the troublesome fan. Why don't replacement parts work just as well as the original? This makes no sense to me. You spend all the money on a product and have to make repairs (understandable), but why don't the replacement parts work as well as the original?

Lowe's screen door

On 8/4/2015, we went to the store in Raynham Lowe's home center and ordered a slider and screen for our patio. We were told someone from the store would have to come out to measure and there would be a charge. within a few days the charge was put on my credit card and someone came out complain g about the amount of work that had to be done. Anyway in a few weeks the door and screen were delivered when the contractor tried to install the screen he saw a roller was missing. we were told he would contact the store for a new one to be cut. The second one came it didn't fit today 9/5 I am waiting for a third screen all I get are promises no door

Lowe's vicious dogs in the store

I was disgusted about going in the store in Thomasville to see animal poop and urine on the floor. I also am upset about customers having vicious animals in the store. People should feel safe when shopping in any establishment. My husband was nearly bitten by a dog who growled when he got close to it. I am so upset for the company allowing animals in the store.

Lowe's metal roof installation

In February of 2014 I contracted with Lowes to install my metal roof and a skylight in my bathroom. The contract states the job was to be completed by March of 2014. ( 1 month). The job remains incomplete as of today 9-7-2015. The contractors that Lowes hired to do the roof are out of North Carolina. This crew made many trips to my home working on my roof and to install the skylight. I had to call them back several times as my roof was leaking all around the skylight every time it rained. Lee, the leader of the roof crew would come and place multiple tubes of caulk on the roof around the skylight. Lee made the comment that if they had installed the roof properly around the skylight that it wouldn't leak like that. After he made a few trips out for complaints of leaking he finally repaired it properly on the roof side. I was still left with a mess on the inside of my bathroom from all of the stains that occurred from the leaking. After multiple phone calls and trips to the West Ashley Lowes, they finally sent someone to repaint my bathroom ceiling and finish cutting in the skylight on the inside. This person made a disaster of my bathroom and left the job incomplete. I pay my bill every month on time when it comes in, why, because if I don't I will be turned in for failure to pay and my credit will be ruined ( like my roof thanks to Lowes). This job ran around 15, 000.00 not chump change by any means. I did hire a lawyer to assist me with Lowes. The Lawyer states that Lowes admits that there is a problem with the work that was done on my house. Lowes expects me a 70 year old disabled man to obtain work estimates from different contractors to make the necessary repairs. I do not think it is my place to have to obtain these estimates. I hired Lowes to do the job and I pay monthly for this incomplete mess. What do I want done you ask. I want Lowes to hire a non-biased roofing company to come out and look at my metal roof and give their opinion. Also I want Lowes to hire a Professional crew to finish the skylight installation . I will not have someone come out and do the work because then Lowes can turn around and say that the warranty is null and void because I had someone else to do the work . I don't think it's too much to ask for Lowes to put this project to rest after 17 months of this nightmare with Lowes.

If your disability does not hamper your ability to type this complaint, then it will not hamper your ability to get said quotes. You're being unreasonable with the perfectly reasonable solution Lowes has provided you.

If the are hiring someone then how could they not serve the interests of the person who pay's the bills. This is why they asked YOU to get the estimates...

Lowe's bissell carpet shampooer rentals

I called the store prior to deciding to use their carpet cleaner. I asked the customer service on the phone if their carpet shampooers are cleaned out before renting them, only because I kept having bad experience with other business with the same problem. When I purchased the shampooer the customer service rep brought the shampooer over and lifted up the 2 canisters and began filling out the paperwork. She explained the costs and the fee if the shampooer did not come back clean. My mistake is I should have inspected it throughly before leaving the store. Once I got home, I began to fill the canister with solution and water within the first two or three swipes on my carpet, a huge clump of carpet and hair came from the bottom of the shampooer. And when I lifted up the bottom, there were more clumps of dried carpet and hair stuck to it.

These stores charges people $15.00 if they are not cleaned and then they don't clean them and hands it to the next person who rents them, this making a quick $15.00 off people.

When you clean them out, there are crevices that are harder to reach. After you clean them and you roll this shampooer this stuff starts sliding down from the inside because it is still wet. Some people feel like the cleaned them and then until you go to return it, this stuff finally slides down And they go to look at it and then they charge people a fee. Then leaves it there and after the get their cleaning fee, so the next renter gets the joy of this stuff to throw in the trash.

Be very careful. They do this to make money!

Lowe's unwarranted late fees

Just got off the phone with Lowes Visa Credit Collection agent I was getting calls saying that I had not paid my August payment.

The agent was very helpful The issue was that I had paid my August payment TOO EARLY!

The August payment was not due until the 15th. The statement closed on August 2nd. I made my payment on August 2nd. Therefore their computer considered that I had paid and extra payment in July - but did NOT give me credit for the payment made in August, on my account Then they increased the payment from $127 to $355?

So basically I'm being penalized for making my payment early.

The agent talked to his supervisor and they removed the late payment fee. Their advice - don't make payments early Wait until later in the month.

I appreciate the helpfulness of their customer service people - but this should NEVER have happened.

The management at Lowe's Home Improvement located at 4401 West Clara Lane in Muncie, Indiana needs some renovating. Brenda Tharp is the store manager. Tharp belittles employees in front of customers making an incredibly uncomfortable atmosphere. Many employees appear to fear Tharp because if they upset her for any reason she begins to cut their hour...

Lowe's working conditions

The working conditions at the Pittston RDC 1449are a nightmare upper mangerment ruts they don't have a clue how to treat people especially Mike Kinger the RGM he alway has a fake smile on his face he doesn't have the abilty to run a poop plant with detail instructions when Mike walks a employee out he has a smile on his face that just sick and very unprofessional as a manager and also reflects on the Lowe's Company as a hole the production score are so mess up .

I work at Lowe's RDC in pittston pa 1449 its the worst job I ever had.Mike Kinger doesn't have a clue what he doing he a clown with a fake smile coworkers call corporate and complain but somehow Kinger fi.ds out and fire them for the dunbest reason with made up write ups like not putting dates on paper work not wrapping skids to liking making up his own rules and changing all the time stay far away from this company .

Lowe's employer

I work at the Pittston RDC 1449 and its the worst job I ever had once you start climbing the wahe ladder they write you up for anything like forgetting to date on paper work, not stacking skids property and products.The RC"s and Squeezes don't work propertly safety issues out the door.Mike Kinger doesn't know his rearfrom a hole in the ground he"s not nicetreats people like dirt and has no respect for teammembers it's so bad they can't get people to fill out applications and if you call corporate and report what's going on some how Mike find out and fire you.

Lowe's noisy

Noisey! Bought ceiling fan at Lowes (2) @ 77 years old and needing a fan, had to have installed...turned on, one was too noisy to sleep with it on...don't think it's fair to have to take it down and take it all the way back and exchange it for another (that might have the same noise) and get it installed...what will you do about it?

Lowe's no way to get helpful information on troubleshooting problems

My Harbor Breeze ceiling fan remote control quit working. Upon testing the battery it only read 9.2VDC when it was supposed to be 12 volts. I purchased a new battery, operated the reset button but the remote still won't work. I have tried numerous sites on the internet to contact Harbor Breeze for troubleshooting tips but it appears there is no way to get any. One site that claims to be Harbor Breeze only says to call a number (which I will do when they open during normal business hours). All the information concerning Harbor Breeze is convoluted or not available.

Lowe's poor repair service

i purchased a Samsung washer on 11-28-14, the washer failed on 7-18-15.I called Lowes customer support line on 7-20-15 they said that someone would be out next day to repair.repair tech called and said that it would be two weeks for they could make it out.i called lowes back they said they would have some one else out the next day, they also called and said they cant make it for a week.called Lowes back and they transferred me to the store manager where i bought the washer, waited for him to call back for 3 hours and it was after 5 when another gentleman from the store called me and told me he had the problem solved and a tech would be out in two days.Surprisingly he didnt show or call!.in the meantime i called Samgsung directly and they fixed my washer in 2 days.customer service at lowes is awful, will never buy and appliance from them again.The only person at Lowes that made any attempt to solve the problem was Irv at the denton Tx store he at least called to check up to see if tech had made it to my house.

This is the worst flooring I have ever installed. It does not click and lock in place, I have given up especially after reading dozens of similar reviews. Glad I only wasted one box. It is a nightmare to keep any seams together once the fourth plank gets laid down. Probably a 5 person job!

Lowe's carpet

I had a terrible experience dealing with the Lowes in Easton, MD flooring department. My wife and I went into Lowe's on 7/2/15 to order 865 ft2 of carpet for a home we recently purchased. The salesman talk up the stainmaster carpet special over in-stock carpet and said from order to install would take 20-30 days. After 10 days from ordering we still had not been measured. I called once and finally had to stop into the store. After almost two weeks we finally got measured on 7/14/15. When the guy shows up to measure he did not have the one tool a person needs to measure... a tape measure! I had to let him use one of my tape measures. Talk about instilling confidence! After being measured I was informed it would be a minimum of 10 days to get special ordered carpet and then another 10 days to schedule install once it was delivered. We will be significantly more than 30 days. The final straw that caused me to cancel my order was that when they called me to give me the price estimate, I was informed I needed to come and pick different carpet, because the carpet we picked was not part of the promotion. What? In the store and on lowes.com it states "free installation with ANY stainmaster carpet purchase". The carpet we selected was a stainmaster product. If it was not such a pain to lift the $600 of tile I purchased I would return it also. Being a small town, I still have to shop at Lowe's but not for my big ticket orders.

Lowe's false reporting to credit bureau

My husband had a lowes card that went into collections back in 2010 and we immediately paid it off along with a lot of other bills we had so we have the copies of the checks to prove it. we never once thought another thing about it because no one sent us anymore letters requesting money so we thought all was good. This year we pulled our credit reports because we are trying to buy a house and were denied because LOWES/SYNCHRONY is reporting that we have a balance still. the report shows were it went to collections and then it says it was charged off. the status stayed charged off for a few years and then you see all of a sudden there is a balance of $2, 200 and a payment of $53 and a past due balance of $437. it shows those amounts exactly every month for the past few years. now if we had been making payments the balance would go down right? well according to the report it never did and the past due amount stayed the same and the payment amount stayed the same. we NEVER made any of those $53 payments since we already paid the account in full! I called lowes customer service only to have the representatives say they didn't have any account for my husband. they couldn't pull up nothing. then finally I got another representative (after calling multiple times) and they finally pulled it up and said that the address they showed was not the address we were giving them and they said they couldn't tell me or my husband anything else about the account because their screen just said to have him call another number. so we called that number only to have talked to 2 different foreign women who both said that they did not have an account for him and didn't know why they were giving us that number. I called lowes back again and told the next person I talked to what the foreign women said and all she could say was I don't know, that is the number it says to give you. so now I am at a stand still with this because I have a credit report for him saying he owes this but yet when we try to find out who has this account and what is going on with it since it was paid years ago, no one seems to know what we are talking about or have the account. I guess my next step I a lawyers office because this is ridiculous! it has hurt my family tremendously and the sad thing is that my mom works for lowes and can't even find anything out for me. I will NEVER go to lowes again. Home Depot will be the place we go for all our home improvement needs.
