Lowe's paint color don't match

I've had 2 instances of Valspar paint not matching.

In the first instance, I bought a gallon of paint at store A. After doing all the trim and 3 of the walls, I ran out of paint. Went to store B for gallon 2. Finished job but when it dried, it didn't match gallon 1. There was a significant difference in shades. Took some pictures, went back to store 2. They agreed paint did not match but suggested that I go back to store 1 since they sometimes have "tinting issues". They mixed the paint at store 1, didn't charge me. I applied gallon 3 to a small area...it matched gallon 2. Instead of fighting them, I repainted all the trim and the other 3 walls. Lots of extra work but it looks great.

Instance 2. This time I bought 2 gallons to paint a room of smaller size than first room. Even though I was painting over white walls (with a light yellow paint), one coat was not enough. I only had about 1 quart left after one coat. When I ran out, I bought the 3rd gallon. Guess what? It, too, doesn't match the first 2 gallons and this time I went to the same store (they even used the same machine).

Lowe's door will not lock

I had lowe's install a larson retractable screen tradewinds storm door, which i have loved having. But now the cord that retracts the screen is showing and will not wind back. How can this problem be solved?

Lowe's bad customer service

Today I went to return a snow blower that we bought two months back. I also bought three years Lowes extended warranty for this product. There was no mechanical fault in the blower but I just did not like the power of the snow blower so I decided to return it or replace it. By the way, even though I bought the snow blower two months back today was my first day to unpack it and use it because it was first bad storm in Toronto since then I bought the snow blower.

The cashier (a good guy) checked the receipt and open the box and checked the gas tank to verify if there is gas in it. There was gas in it so he called his manager (Tonie) and returned to me. He said he was told by his manager that we can return it provided I pump out the gas from it since they cannot return any product that has gas in it. Fair enough. Then I asked him how do I remove gas from it. He said they have a device called gas pump or something like that. I said from where I can buy it. It was 9:00pm so I decided to buy it because I didn't want to go back home and do all the hassles of packing and unpacking again. He said they have pump device and I should be able to find it in consumer department.

I tried searching the pump in consumer department as I was told by that gentle man. But after few minutes, the same gentle man came and told me that we don't sell that device. I asked him if any other store sell that device. I then realized that I can go Wal-Mart which is very close from Lowes. He agreed. But all of sudden he said let him talk to his manager again and see if they can do something for me.

This time he talked to a duty manager, Jagh. The manager came and said they cannot return the snow blower because as per company policy they cannot return it since it has passed 30 days return policy. I asked him that I was told 15 minutes back that they will return it provided I remove the gas. But the duty manager was so un-professional and without giving me any other options he said simply no we cannot return it and I have to move the blower from the store since it is dangerous to keep it with gas in it. He also said that even I stay here for whole night he will not return this snow blower. This guy was so rude and un-professional that I cannot explain here.

I asked him why I was told by the cashier that they will return it. Why they did not tell me at the first place instead of wasting my valuable time. The cashier maybe under the pressure or fear of losing his job also changed his statement and said he did not say that they will return it. If this was the case then why I was told to buy the gas pump from Lowes to pump out the gas. Why my time was wasted and then why they changed their statement.

Then I asked that cashier if I can speak to the manager whom he talked earlier and who told him to remove the gas in order to return it. At first I was told that she is now gone from vacation for one week. I mean within 30 minutes she all of sudden decided to go for one week vacation. But after I argued and insisted they agreed to call her. Her name is Tonie. She came and said she never told to that cashier anything like this. They all started lying and started making different stories.

I am not against the Lowes policy of 30 days return. My real complain is why I was given wrong expectations at first place and asked to remove the gas from it to return it. Why I was told to buy the gas pump to remove the gas from snow blower in order to return it. Can they explain why I was told to remove the gas from it and why I was told to buy the gas pump from Lowes to remove the gas?

They just simply lied and did not help me and did not provide any customer service for which I paid. Even they did not give me any other options. I never had such a bad experience from Canadian Tire or Wal-mart.

I would simply never buy anything from Lowes and will never recommend to my friends, family members or anyone to buy from Lowes. Instead I will discourage them not to buy anything from Lowes and will share my experience will everyone I know.

Thanks for the warning. Was about to buy on sale a snowblower from Lowes. Thought the return was 90 days but now see it is only 30 days. It is late September and I probably won’t use it till December which is after the return period.
So if I buy it will be in December or January as it is a lot of money to be stuck with a dud performer.

Lowe's personal

2/17/2010 AT 2:30PM

I first asked for a print out for Wednesday February 10th.Next I handed her my personal (3) numbers, she started to print it when the phone rang.It was a call about who couldn't make it to a party.I next asked for (3) quick picks than I asked her for a $5.00 education lottery ticket. When counting up she said "oh" I punched one in twice.I asked which one and it was my personal numbers, the one she punch in while on the phone.I asked her what was she going to do with those numbers and she said she would sell them to some one else or sell them to me I said you can not do that because they are my personal numbers not a quick pick.I asked for a manager. It took a little time but the manager said by lottie law she could not void the ticket and that someone would have to pay for it.I felt the store sould have to paid the $6.00 and than tear the ticket up.If I did hit the lottie I would have to share the money with my self or someone else because they were my personal numbers.I was force to pay $6.00 more for the same ticket. When I was leaving the parking lot three young girls and a older one were pointing and lauching at us.Is this the way to treat steady customers?

Lowe's late fee's

Can you say scam! No wonder the president is after credit card companies. I was late with a payment around Christmas. I knew it and I paid the minumum balance on the web site. What I didn't know was that because I didn't pay the extra $39.00 I recieved another late fee for Jan. What a scam!
I have a job and I do pay my bills, but for people who are struggling companies like GE Credit and Lowe's what a bunch of crap.

Lowe's awful experience

On October 16, 2008 I went into Lowes, located at 2250 Lake Washington Blvd, West Sacramento, CA to see if they could match the paint to what I have in my living room, which is beige and spoke with an associate in the Paint Dept.. I was assured he could match the paint. After taking the paint home and painting the wall I was trying to match I noticed the color wasn’t even close to the rest of the living room. I took the paint back to the store and again I was told by a different associate the color that had been mixed was wrong and that he could however mix the correct color. I again took the paint home and again painted the wall and again the paint was not only wrong, but further away from the color I was trying to match than the first can. I again took the paint back to the store and again was assured that they could match the color and again they couldn’t. After painting the same wall three times with no success from Lowes I decided to go to Kelly-Moore in West Sacramento. They matched the paint perfectly the first and I am very happy with the results, but not with Lowe’s, not only because of all the work they had me doing in painting the same wall over and over, but the attitude of the store manager when I explained the problem. I went back into the store October 26th at approximately 6:P.M. and asked to speak with the store manager. I was greeted by a young man and I explained the problem I had experienced with the paint and told him that since I had spent so many hours painting the same wall over and over because of the inability of Lowe’s staff to match the color after being assured they could I felt I should be compensated for my time. He asked me what I had in mind. I told him I was also there to pick up a new fireplace screen I had order and I showed him the receipt of $231.66 and asked him if he could adjust the price. His reply was just a flat, “NO”. I then said, “then I could cancel my order and go over to Home Depot and purchase the fireplace screen from them couldn’t I?” His reply was, “THAT’S RIGHT.” Being unhappy with his attitude I then asked the name and address of Lowe’s C.E.O. and he told me he didn’t know who that was, but gave me the main offices phone number. Well, I didn’t cancel the order for the fire place screen although I felt the store manager didn’t care if I did or not.

I sent a letter to Robert Niblock, Lowe's C.E.O. and his office didn't have the courtesy to reply. Instead they notified the store and told them to call me, which they did. While I was at work two phone messages were left on my home answering machine. One message was from the store manager and the other from their district manager. Both leaving the same message, "THEY WOULD CALL ME BACK REGARDING MY COMPLAINT." They never called back. After waiting a considerable time I sent another letter to Lowe's C.E.O. and again I received the same messages on my recorder.

Now I have cancelled my Credit Card with Lowe's Companies and I will never set foot in one of their stores again. My friends and neighbors all saw what Lowe's put me through and the feel the same way.

My husband and I went to Lowe's and purchased a Whirlpool upright freezer on 2/14/09. We were asked to buy the 4 year extended warranty and it sounded like a good deal so we agreed. They said it would be delivered in the morning which they never came until afternoon. I went grocery shopping on the next day as I was going in for surgery the 20th. I bought a lot of things to freeze so I would have it on hand.

2/17/09 I noticed that some things in the freezer were thawed so I set the freezer to the coldest temp. By morning everything was thawed and warm. I called Lowe's and they said they would send out a technician the next business day 2/19/09 to replace the freezer because it wasn't even a week old and it was defective. When I had asked about the refund for the spoiled food they say they do not have to pay for the food loss which was a little under $300.00 because they replaced the freezer and that nulled the extended warranty. I am entitled to a refund! And after reading about others not receiving their free delivery charge refund I am guessing I will never see mine either! I will never buy from that store again and spread the word to others so they don't get ripped off as I did.

So, let me get this straight. You told the paint desk guy what color you wanted, which you could only do by picking out a color slip 'yourself' and handing it to him. He matched the color of exactly what you presented him. He had to add the proper tint to the paint to come out in the 'color you requested', which again, is the only way they will specially mix a paint for you is by your specifications, they show it to you (so you can match it up to the paint card you selected to be made, and you would have to either say "yes that is my color" or "no that is not my color". You obviously accepted it and paid for it and now you're angry because "YOU" did not take the time and effort to locate what color and tint that you really needed, you just had paint made that you thought was right. Well Lowe's has a policy, which is explained when you buy it, that they won't take back (refund) any paint that is tinted, like yours. You screwed up, they even attempted to make it right and you feel you should be compensated? I agree you should be compensated, for maybe disability compensation for your lack of common sense and for therapy to dispel your sense of entitlement. I work for Lowe's and used to work for Home Depot, neither of them would allow you to be compensated for your ignorance. You are the type of customer that businesses dislike. The customer is not always right, and you can certainly take your money elsewhere. But Lowe's and Home Depot communicate about customers like you, which we will just call problem people. Problem people end up being blacklisted from us and our competitors because you are full of [censor] and not worth our time and attention. Maybe if you were not an idiot int the first place, you wouldn't have had this color mix up in the first place, but you just probably guessed at the color and told the paint department associate that you were sure. If we are to hear about you from a competitor, you won't get service in either store. We have a right to refuse service to anybody at anytime for any or no reason. We are private property too, if you don't like it then leave. Feel like screaming or cursing me, go ahead? Then we call Loss Prevention and they will ask you one time to leave, if you don't leave on your own immediately, you WILL go to jail for trespassing, even if you do get in your car and get away, we already have all of your information and your license plate number with any of our basic 58 CCTV cameras. If two people told you to leave and you still don't go, you will sit in jail a bit longer for criminal trespassing.
On the other hand, if WE screw up, then by all means we will fix it and make it right at our own expense, but this [censor] entitlement you feel like you should be compensated is [censor]. Where do you work? I would like to make a complaint about YOU for WASTING MY TIME and feel that I should be compensated for my troubles.

yes i couldnt agree more, i actually work at lowes and let me tell you LOWES, is all about getting your money and then ### you basicaly
they want you to get the credit cards, and this is the reason why, for one it causes people to come in and buy ### regardless of the fact you dont need these things, and further more the interest, now lowes only approves people with the best credit because they know people will pay these fines and surcharges, thats for the people who actually catch it and not like the honest people that just pay the bill
anyway i could go on all day about the shady ### this company does if your interested in more info email me at kibbekkk@yahoo.com i will tell you all about it, even how to totally rip them off lol

Lowe's "is a great place to work" yeah right!

Just wanted to let everyone out there know- that if you are thinking of employment with Lowe's Home Improvement Warehouse, you may want to rethink your job choices! They hire you at part time or seasonal- with full time hours- and forget having to be out for any reason! They will fire you! I thought that being part time meant that you have flexable hours- not with them! I have a friend who was under restricted duty- and they made that person do heavy lifting anyway. Is there a lawyer our there this person can talk to? They also will not give you breaks that you deserve. I thought that it was by law in the state of North Carolina that a company is required to give you a break after so many hours. You would think that after standing for 8 hours on a concrete floor that this may be true with Lowe's. IT'S NOT! They treat their employees like just another number, and do not care about you nor your family. I hope that this economy picks up soon- when it does they will be losing alot of wonderful hard working people. Once again I warn you- BEWARE!

I was hired on at Lowes as seasonal and went to part time. I worked for 8 mon. at 40 plus hr. a week. My disabled 5 year old lost his health insurance because I was making too much money. I asked to be given full time hr. and was turned down. I went to next in line over human resources and was went from 85 hr. every two weeks to 30 hr. every two week. They than went and hired two more people to take up the hr. I was working. They do not care about you or your family. Too many power hungry managers that want nothing but to ### on your parade. I would never work or shop here again. My family has spent on average of 10, 000 a year in this store but NEVER again.

Hey fellow lowes-bashers, my issue is not nearly as bad as some of these but i had to tell about it. I bought a little trailer with a black metal frame and wood plank bottom. About 5' x 10' . Go to liscence it and it turns out that every one of these sent to lowes, at least in washington state, have the exact same vin number. Identical. All of them. So I cannot liscence my trailer without a state patrol inspection issuing a new vin # . Go back to Blowes I mean lowes and of course there a'int a DAMN thing they will do! the person at customer service just stared at me like in the " employee smells of drugs" comment. Oh yeah, my state patrol appt. is almost here. they're scheduled out 4 months. maybe i can use my trailer soon.

Lowe's terrible company

We went to lowes to get a generator due to ice storm we were about to have the next day, They had 18 generators waiting on a truck to be unloaded. As far As I know their was one other guy waiting as well. They refused to unload the truck. They said it could be 30 min or an hour. We even said we would be glad to help get it off the truck. They
still refused. Needless to say we were left in the cold. I thought this way of doing business was in poor taste. I buy a lot from them. But i will not buy anything else.

I was a management trainee in this Lowes location with a stellar performance record. A lower-level employee tried to kiss me at one point in a secluded area of the store. I reeled back in disgust and left the area. On my next scheduled work day, the employee's supervisor approached me and apologized on behalf of her employee and asked if I would NOT report this incident to human resources. I agreed. Two hours later, the employee and her supervisor reported ME as the aggressor and filed a complaint.

I was questioned by the Area HR supervisor and terminated several days later. I petitioned the Regional HR supervisor for a review of my case and asked REPEATEDLY for the opportunity to take a lie-detector test to confirm my version of these events. I was notified several days later that my termination would stand.

With no witnesses to this event and completely opposing stories, I suspect Lowes chose to terminate the gender which had the greatest STATISTICAL probability of having committed the harassment. Meanwhile, a career is snuffed out, a reputation is irrevocably damaged, and the perpetrator of the harassment suffers no consequences.

My mom passed at the end of 2006. I had my credit checked the summer of 2007 and found a Lowes bill I new nothing about and could not afford to pay. I contacted the store and found out my mom had me on the account but because I never had a Lowes card I did not know. All customer service did was send me a Lowes card I could not afford to use because it already had a debt. By the time I could afford to pay it the company had added three hundred and something dollars in penalties and turned me over to collections. I tried to work out a deal to pay them their original balance and send them the death certificate of my mom and told them they could research and see I never had a Lowes card and this was not my debt but I was willing to pay them their original balance. Their collection department the store uses gave me a settlement amount and told me that would be the end of this unfortunate situation and the card would be closed out. Guess what! After paying, they did not close the card and sent be a statement for the remaining balance thats nothing but penalties and late charges for a bill that was not mine in the first place. They are nothing but liers to a person that could have been a good customer to them, but since I have a Home Depot card and a Sears card, I will never have anything to do with Lowes again!

I work for Lowes and I am sorry that what happened to you but the reasons behind their responses were really simple...
1.) We can only unload our trucks at certain times a day (if its our RDC truck its usually done in the evening towards closing time.)
2.) The length of wait is truthful, its a 53 foot trailer, it takes sometimes a few hours to unload.
3.) Our policy and Insurance reasons is why you could not go back and help unloading.

Hello I am a Lowe's employee. The number is legit for activating the card. I'm not sure how you would receive one with your name on it if you did apply, perhaps someone on en your house used you name and mailed something in? Or even applied online. If it has your name on it, it is yours. But you can call customer care, a number on the Lowe's website to cancel it.

Careful, sounds like a phishing scam ... if you call, they'll probably ask you to verify your SS number or something to that effect. In essence, you'll be giving them your SS number because they never new it to begin with.

Lowe's scam

I ordered a dishwasher on-line from Lowes just before Christmas of 2008. It was to be delivered in about 7-10 business days. After 2 weeks went by and no dishwasher, I called to inquire. I was told it was being shipped that day and I should have it within the next 24 hours. 2 days later I still had no dishwasher, so I called again. After repeating this multiple times, they figured out that there was an error with the way the on-line system processed the order. I was credited for the charge, rebilled the same amount, and given a different dishwasher that was in stock. They put me down for delivery, but not installation (as I requested), so I then had to find someone who could install it for me.

Here we are a year later and the dishwasher that I never received is still showing on my account as being shipped to my house. I found this out because I was trying to order a garbage disposal on-line and was declined the ability to purchase it on my Lowes card because my payment was 12 days late (apparently grace periods are a thing of the past). When I called to inquire about the issue, I spent close to an hour on the phone (between hold and dealing with someone who didn't have a clue what he was doing), and was eventually disconnected while on hold. I e-mailed their customer service department about the situation and was told I would need to call and speak directly to customer service. I told them I tried that. I'm DONE with Lowes!

Sorry to hear that! We are DONE with LOWES too--cancelled our credit card with them and all. They need to stop selling APPLIANCES! they have no idea what they are doing or selling and the customer service is terrible. They may as well hire all elementary school kids to work there, they would probably figure things out quicker.

Lowe's attitude

We purchased a washer and dryer combo from Lowes. We were told that it would be delivered the next day. The following morning the delivery driver called for directions. We informed him to call before he arrived. When they didn't arrive between the 2PM-4PM time slot we called Lowes only to be informed that the driver had been to the house, knocked on the door and left a tag. We told the store manager that we were home waiting for the call. He rudely explained that the driver did what he was told to do and since we didn't answer the door, he left. We were then told that we may get the delivery the next day or maybe not for another three days. The store manager was very rude the entire conversation. When we realized that we may not get the washer/dryer for days and the manger would not set a new appointment we told him that we would just go to another store and purchase a washer and dryer and then get our refund from Lowes...his comment, "do what you have to, I don't care." We went this evening and purchased a better washer and dryer from Nebraska Furniture Mart for a lower price. When we went back to Lowe's to get a refund...no apology and the manager was just as rude as he was on the phone. Because of their attitude we will no longer purchase any item from Lowes. We have a Home Depot down the street and too many other stores to shop from and refused to be treated so badly.

For what dumb ### reason didn't you just answer the door when the delivery was on time? Seems like you just think you are superior to others and you found that the delivery driver values his time as well as you value yours. He probably had to leave so he could keep his appointments with other customers who would actually answer the door when he showed up on time. Seems you are pissed that lowes doesn't think you are better than any other customers...and quite honestly...they don't need your business. Courtesy works both ways. grow up.

Lowe's speak english

I am highly offended by all this Spanish in lowe's! not only do they have Spanish written all over the store, the employees can't speaking English! It's like walking into Mexico, doesn't Lowe's have any pride in their store and their country anymore? Hire Americans that can speak English and take down all the Spanish in the store! I will not be shopping at Lowe's anymore until the Spanish is gone and they can hire people that speak English.
Lowe's is just another typical store that is selling out their country and the American people for a dollar I encourage all Americans to not shop at this store any more. If Lowe's feels the need to cater to the Spanish people or people who speak Spanish language that's great, but do it in Mexico or other countries where the language is Spanish, the designated language for the United States is English keep it that way! may God bless America and the American people!

i agree. I go to the home depot near my house because they have english speaking workers. I dont care if your are french, asian, mexican, or romanian, if you are working here in America then english needs to be spoken. Americans have to speak foriegn languages, mostly spanish, just to get certain jobs in certain areas. Other jobs like in construction, you wont be promoted to foreman if you dont speak spanish for certain types of businesses. Americans may have different accents and pronounce words differently depending on where they grew up, but there is one thing in common we have, we can understand english. We have had many peoiples come to America including Irish, french, british, african, vietnamese, chinese, thailand, and russia. The majority of these people learned english and assimilated into society so that we could be one as a nation while still maintaing there heritage and living in communitties with like people, ex. chinatown. But when it comes to mexicans or those from south America we are called racist for wanting them to learn english before being allowed to enter our nation. All foriegners before had to learn english but somehow they are different, just because they are our neighbors. I would not dare go to mexico, or france to live without learning to speak the native language, and if they had to go into a business or deal with customers that did not speak they would get angry as well. French people get angry at Americans who do not know french if that said frenchman does not know english, is that racist? No. I thought that people who enter our country had to take test and be checked for diseases and criminal records as well as learning english, so if they are here and do not know english isn't that almost a certain sign that they are here legally. How do they get the job if the manager does not speak spanish? does that mean that at lowes only the employees that speak spanish are allowed to be promoted. Isnt that discrimination against americans who speak only english or against the other managers who get paid less because they do not know spanish? We have to almost know a foriegn language just to call the cell phone or cable company, now we need to know one to get employed or to buy a slurpee. Thanks for reading this and realize it not discrimination or racist and if it is then it goes both ways because there will always be a group left out. Should americans be left out or visitors.

Lowe's carpet sales & install

Lowes sold me carpet and install. They demanded that I buy an amount of carpet that they determined that I needed. I did not agree that I needed so much (with 22% waste) and asked to be shown how they intended to use the carpet requiring the higher amount.
They refused and refused to install unless I agreed to purchase the higher amount of carpet that they said I needed. So I had no choice but to agree.
They said that this was something that was industry standard and required by law.

Lowe's customer service

I purchased a waterheater at a semi local lowes today like many others I thought the price was worth the trip. After returning home and removing the old water heater I unboxed the new one to find that the top was partially smashed in. I imediatly called the store where I recieved a run around & was told by neil that he would call me back in 10 minutes, 30 minutes later a different manager calls to say at that point there was nothing they could do but that neil would be in touch, several hours later I was finally contacted just to be told that I either was to use the damaged water heater or drive the 35 minutes back to the store where they might exchange it, but was told there would be no comp for my wasted time or gas even though it was damaged by there associates when unloading the truck. I informed neil that if this was how lowes did bussiness that they could kiss my bussiness goodbye. He acted as if he couldn't care less.

We purchased a Generac generator on March 2oth of this year and have had nothing but trouble with trying to get it installed. The Co. that is
supposedly going to install can't even call us and let us know what the problem is. I called the store ( #2948) and talked with Ashley in installation, and she called Watts Elec. She then called me back and said that we will get a phone call from the gas man to set up a date. This was done twice by myself, and she called twice to ask if they had called me back twice to see if they had called. The answer was no we heard nothing.
If this is how things work, I will your store come back and pick it up and return my $9000.00. I'll just go to another home center and purchase it from them. I just can't see paying for something to sit in our yard so we can just look at.
On Monday, May 8TH, I will be going the that store and give them 24 hours to do something or refund me and I'll go where I don't like to go and purchase it there. Home Depot.
My name is Lucien Boissonneault and I can be contacted by phone [protected] or by e-mail.( DONB1937@SC.RR.COM )

from reading the complaints about Lowes', I wish I read them before I purchased my vanity.
Not only are the customers unhappy, so are the employees.
But rest assured, I will get satisfation, one way or another. I will make it my mission in life to get the vanity that I ordered THREE months ago.
If you're having the trouble with Lowe's customer service that I am, contact their Executive Management at their corporate office at [protected]. Yes it's long distance from California but maybe you'll get the satisfation I am still waiting for.

As of 06/23/2012, my husband and I was regular customers. Garry and Melissa changed that. After about 35 minutes or more standing in Flooring, for assistance from passerbys, I walked over to lightening, waited until Garry finished with his phone conversation, I asked for assistance, then he stated rudely I have a customer, that I need to go assist in another department, I said, I understand, but I am standing in front of you now, after 4 page for Melissa, and after 35 minutes of more without assistance. He starts to a get indignent, Melissa walks up, wants to argue that she only step away for a second, and no one paged her. She had been paged 4 times, I heard the Pages, and if you wanted to get technical cameras would show, my husband standing there asking everyone that walked by for assistance, and that she had not been in that department. I will do my future home projectss with Home Depot.

Lowe's mismanagement and suspect practices

I have been reading complaints regarding the Lowe's Credit Card and I feel compelled to add information to the comments I have seen. I opened a Lowe's Credit Card in October of 2009 to take advantage of the six months/12 month no interest offer. After two weeks my card was mysteriously cancelled - no warning, no explanation. When I called the "customer service" number, I was (after a long delay) connected to a man in India. He proceeded to ask me for my account number, social security number, date of birth, address, former addresses, former phone numbers (I am talking addresses that were from 10 years back). I finally hung up the phone because I had idea who I was actually talking to and I have never been interigated in such a manner in my entire life. Since that event, I have been focusing all of my resources to paying off this credit card.

This evening I called the customer service line to find out my balance. Simple question, right? Most cards you can push a number for this information once you have been verified. Not so with Lowe's. I was once again transfered to someone in India and he proceeded to interigate me. He continued asking for all of my private information even after I told him I needed a payoff balance for the account number I had given him. He continued asking for all of my vital information. I hung up the phone.

Six months ago a friend of mine had her bank account and savings account cleaned out after customer service call similar to what I described above (her call was not to Lowe's, and not regarding Lowe's). When her bank traced the unauthorized withdrawals and purchases, they had occurred in India.

So, Heads up everyone. One month and fifteen days into my Lowe's Credit Card experience, I am focused on paying off my balance and I will never shop at Lowe's again. Buyer Beware. Also, buyer beware in regards to how the Lowe's statement is presented. My statement shows two purchases that need to be paid off within six months and 2 purchases that need to be paid off within 12 months. The statement also shows two returns (the six months payoff purchases, but the deduction is taken from the 12 month payoff amount). Are you following me? In other words, the payments I make are paying down the later due date, not the more recent due date. My total will be paid off before six months rolls around, but I feel it is important to let others know that the Lowe's Credit Card offer is deceptive.

My recommendation - do not open a Lowe's Credit Card account. Open a Credit Union account and get line of credit, or a credit card through them. Your interest rate will be lower and they will treat you with respect and honesty.

Lowe's service and discounts

i purchased a load of lumber and i had a price from another lumber yard to to show that lowe's was higher than the other place...lowe's policy is to meet the price and beat it by ten percent ...i showed the paper to the manager ..he replied that it did not include lumber...i checked with other lowe's places and they all told me that it did apply to lumber ..the man still refused to correct the price..i had the lumber already loaded so i took it at his price..he refused to discuss anything or even to call one of the other places to check...needless to say, i'm not ever buying anythin there again...please tell me if i and all the other places are wrong...i thought lowe's honered their word... thanks, Gary

If you found such a great price, why bother going to Lowe's? Just buy it! Lumber is a commodity, so price is dependent on when it was purchased. It can change daily, and often does.

Just because a check has all the info from your drivers license does not mean the check will be accepted. There are other factors. And actually the girl didn't lie...it is a recording. The whole world doesn't revolve around you or your check. The cashier can't control if something is declined.

Lowe's awful, awful, awful

2017 I got a Lowes Credit card and faithfully have paid it even paying more than minimum needed. Recently I went to Lowes to purchase tile to finish the renovation on my bathroom. To my surprise my account had been closed by the company. The reason according to a letter I received 3 days later was Old credit issues. Why if that was the case why give me a card to begin with? At this point in time I will never ever set foot in a Lowes store and would highly advise others to do so also. Lowes lost a good customer and lots of business with me.

I will never give lowes any business again. in the future home depot will recieve it. reason.I bought a new washer, dryer, freezer in the same week I put it on my charge with in 8 months i paid off all but $700. i was going out of town so i decided to make my payment 2 weeks early. when i got my bill there was a late fee.they insisted I did not pay. I gave them $75 that same day and said I would be back in a couple weeks to pay it off. my next bill not only showed the payment i paid but also the one they said i was late. dated 10 days before the due date. I went right over there and showed them i was right and wanted the late fees given back. they said no so i handed them a check for the balance owed. by the way that paid the 2 year debt in 9 months. I no longer owe LOWES and no longer will buy there.I cut up my charge card and hope many other readers will do the same.

I would never buy anthing from Lowes again that requires an warranty. On 7/20 my refrigerator broke down I call the warranty and they sent out app.+. the gut came in my home he wasnt friendly at all, i went down stairs so he can handle his business. 45mins. later he calls me upstairs and starts to go ffo on me in front of my kids, to react would have been a bad mistake for me. so i call and made a complaint. a few days later they sent out another mom and pop tech. dont get me wrong I have nothing agaist one person company, but a gaint like Lowes should be using better tech. so the second tech comes out and open the refigerator door and says: this unit is unrepairable. *** this ahole didnt even plug the unit up. the 3rd service tech.comes out plugs the unit up unplugs it, *** both panels and say: it looks like a tech. drill a hole in the freon line to see what was going on the the line, and the fan is out and the motherboard needs replacing.in any event you're covered and i'll oder the parts. make a long story short we went over 3 weeks with out a refrigerator, sure they replace the unit and paid $250 for food loss. but that is not good enough for me, I wish to be compensated for this ordeal. I was told I drill the hole in the line. i was told a gift was sent out, then i call back to tell them the parts are here but i dont need them, at this point i was told the gift card was cancelled. no one knew what the other was doing, no one check the notes from the GE service tech. and he was the only true tech. in the 1st. place. this is BS. I'm seeking $3, 000.00 for compensation

We purchased cabinets from Lowes in 2017. It took until 2017 to complete our kitchen. We were told they would make it right then make compensation for this mess. We spent $16, 000 and they would only give us $5, 000 for waiting 2 years on a kitchen.

We will never purchase from them again or recommend them. The cabinets were Craftmaid. They were delivered with holes and scratches every time. The first brand was Shandoah and they were also junk.

Now we are going through the same thing to get them to release the $5, 000 they promised.

Buyer Beware!

I went in on a weekday evening to purchase lumber(being a female-older) I went in and at least 3 employees and a manager were standing at check out desk in the load out area. there were maybe 20 cars in the whole parking lot. I looked for a cart and found one with stuff in it had to remove items. There were loads in the ilse ways with stock stuff on them with no one around. I loaded BY MYSELF treated lumber for out side 2x10x8s and 2x8x8s and plywood. There were "guys" in the isle looking then then drove off, anothe"guy" came down and then stopped and looked busy. I don't mind loading but i was in a rush plus NO ONE WAS IN THE STORE, so, there were emplyees all over the place. I was slamming the boards to see if anyone would offer, no such luck. so i pushed the cart to the front load out registar and i said thanks for the help and he said "i am helping u" How sad. I asked for the manager told him the problem and he even buckled his knees and didnt say ONE WORD! He was scared! the others just gave me dirty looks. they loaded my truck cause I wasn't after spending $200+. They don't care they ran off the moms and pops places so now we are stuck with this *hit. as i was leaving two employees were walking out front "chattin" how nice wish my job was that easy!

Purchased fensing from Lowes. They state they will meet others prices. I bought fense boards and they met the competors price. I paid for the boards and was picking them up later. They called me an hour later and refused to let me have the fense boards at that price, and I had already paid for them. So don't believe them when they tell you they will meet competors prices, and that when you buy something from them, paying for it, that it will be yours

Our company had ordered a fence from your company (Lowes), which we were told that we would receive on the 23 of August and we never did... On the 28th we called the store to find out why they never called us to let us know where our order was and why we never received a call tell us it was on back order . The manager of the store then went a head to tell us that the vendor had been on back order for over 3 months which they never told us in he first place or we would of never ordered it to begin., .. Again poor customer service .. So then they tell us we would receive it Sept. 12th and when we called on the 10th they said it would be available on the 14th so we then asked to be transfered to receiving and the manager of receiving then told us they don't know why they told us because they don't receive on Sundays... So we were lied to by two different departments because they didn't know what they were talking about ... As a Business that store is very poorly ran and we still have no answer ... Our business will never work with that location ever again...

Every time I go to get plants there is never anyone to load at the norman, & 74th street okc stores. There is plenty of people doing nothing they don’t even offer to help load. Once another customer loaded mine. Its ridiculous that you have to chase people down there should be someone asking you. Another issue is what’s up with the plant carts cant they have them inside available to you. They should also double staff the garden area with people ready to help and load. The prices of each plant should be available and on all plants so you know what you are paying.

We purchased replacement door and windows from Lowes, and Lowes sent us a rewards card for our purchase. I went to use it for a small purchase recently and it was declined. The cashier said there was no balance on it. It was embarrassing as I had to leave to get money to pay for our purchase when the rewards card should have been all that was needed. I called Lowes and they said there was nothing they can do unless I go back and make another purchase and try to use the card again. If it does not go through then I must call them from the check out line to see what it wrong with the card. There is nothing else they can do.

Lowe's interest rate

When I got my Capital One Lowes Visa account several years ago, I was offered 5.99% forever. Guaranteed. All was good. In comes GEMoneyBank. I called them to ask if my interest rate would change. I was told they would honor the agreement that Capital One had. Well, I happen to look at the interest rate box this past statement, and it says 9.99%. I looked back, and apparently GEMB took it upon themselves to bump the rate to 9.99%. Upon calling customer service I was told that I was given an option to accept the new rate, or opt out, account would be closed and I could continue to pay the existing balance at 6.99%. (I received no such notice), Otherwise..."Take the new rate or we don't want your business. If we can't squeeze another 3% out of you, its not worth it" What a bunch of dirt bags man! GEMB you suck! Crooks!

Well now I can clearly see. My experience was Lowe's Visa closed my account and stated I had opt out. When I have been a totally dedicated customer, never late. I called when I noticed my account online stated it was closed. I was informed that I had opted out in November. I asked for the issued to be researched as I had made no such request, in fact, I had not been online as I had attempted the wrong password and was unable to get online during the period I supposely opted out. Ummmm...interesting, nor had I made any type of contact with the company. Well, I just got my letter from them and they refused to turn this around. Of course, this is happenning when my account is just about paid off. If is was not for dropping my credit score, I wouldn't even fight it. This is wrong! I will not forget this GE.

This same thing happened to me. I just noticed my 9.99% when it has been 4.99% fixed for the last 6 years. I also started with Capital One and it changed to Lowe's Visa. I never received any notice on my bill that the customer service associate claimed had the information about closing my account, opting out and keeping my original 4.99% fixed rate. Customer service claimed that by making a purchase during THEIR agreement period (which I never received) back sometime in May 2009, this would make me agree to THEIR new terms effective sometime in October 2009. I was NEVER informed of this at all! I have NEVER been late paying any of my bills ever and this year I started paying my Lowe's Visa bill in full every month. I think Lowe's Visa is lying, being sneaky and will lose good customers like myself over this!

Lowe's good check declined

My perfectly good check was decline at Lowes, I called the Certegy toll free number while at the checkout counter and went thru the automated system (of course I could not talk to a real person). The system said I had not derogatory concern with my check and the merchant was notified. The girl tried to run the check again with the same results (declined), I called the Certegy Co. again to try to talk with someone to resolve this while people were waiting in line behind me. I paid cash for the $279.00 purchase. THIS COMPANY (CERTEGY) SHOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR THE EMBARASSMENT THEY CAUSE ME (AND MANY OTHERS IT SEEMS) FOR THEIR GOOF UPS. If I could know which merchants use this company, I would never shop at their clients again.
Certegy is a disgrace to their industry.
