Our frigidaire stove that is a little over a year old, has a chip in the porcelain on the top of the stove. Since the manufacturer warranty recently expired, we contacted lowe's as we had purchased an extended warranty at the time we purchased the stove. A service technician from a and e factory service came out on september 23, 2008. He deemed the defect to be cosmetic and had us sent touch up paint. Lowes states they do not cover cosmetic defects as part of their extended warranty. They keep referencing #4 under the general exclusions which states, "cosmetic damage and problems due to improper and / or non - factory authorized installations or repairs. " i tried to explain to several people including supervisors that the damage was not caused by improper or non - factory installations or repairs. Therefore, it must be covered. They refuse to replace the part or replace the stove. They are failing to uphold their extended warranty contract. A contract that we paid an additional $89. 97 for at the time we paid $524. 88 for. This is consumer fraud. I have provided copies of the sales receipt in addition to a copy of the extended warranty agreement

I am in the same position as all of the other complaints. My GE front load washer quit draining water. The washer will be 2 years old in May. Purchased the protextion plan. Filed a claim online and a technician came out 3 days later. Said it was the water pump. Waiting for the part he came back out and replaced the pump. Started the machine again, same problem. Told me he would be back in touch. A week later and no response. I called the protection plan ( call center outsourced in India) , and they told be that they needed to open a new claim and a tech would need to come back out there. The same technician. Took off work, and no show. Called the tech and he told me that he did not need to come out there, he already been out twice, its the control panel and the part needs to be approved before he can order it. Called the protection people again, told me they have receieved no such report. Called the tech told me sent the report 4 times already. I have asked to speak to another person, they will just put you on hold forever or hang up.

If you use the chat feature they will tell you that they will escalate your claim and you will recieve a email, and no email. It just a circle of lies and not fixing your appliance.

THIS IS SUCH A SCAM.

I am having a similar issue, except there was a small hole in the gasket due to wear and tear of my GE washing machine. Same thing called the repair person. They took forever because somebody had put their address in real fast for a short repair guy in jap being a 19 old kid who is not a certified technician he had told me on the job training, and now my washer is completely ruined and broke

We purchased whirlpool appliances Jan 2020 (oven, countertop burner, frig, dishwasher) with the 5 year extended protection (Assurant in Philippines) plan on each, the dishwasher will not drain starting in August 2022, I called the number and they have no record, I have faxed them a copy numerous times and attached to an email numerous times & they still will not honor the contract. I’ve talked to supervisor’s they will pass the info on to their lead person, one person told me they did a computer upgrade/conversion in May 2022 and anything before that is lost. Even though I have provided them the info, they still will not honor the contract. Lowe’s won’t help either, once the info is passed to Assurant Lowe’s doesn’t care. Basically they are selling a protection plan for Assurant, and they are done. Lowe’s hands are clean. I guess for us it was wasted money, I’ll have the repair out of pocket, maybe file a complaint w/BBB, or file small claims. We feel cheated, thanks for listening. Fraud? Ellie / Kansas

I have a similar problem with a Maytag dishwasher. It was purchased at Lowes November 2020. Service tech came out on October and diagnosed issue as defective water circulation pump. He received authorization to order the part through Assurant. It is nearly four weeks later and he still has not received the pump from Assurant. I've made mutiple phone calls to Lowes and I was told the issue was escalated.Nothing has happened and nobody seems to know what to do at this point. I called Lowes Customer Care and they refer me to the extended warranty department. They are useless. If Lowes in monitoring this site, I am requesting you honor your commitment to the extended warranty I purchased in good faith.

I'm 5 MONTHS out, with multiple visits, multiple parts, and my washer STILL doesn't work. NOW they tell me my extended warrantee has 'expired'. Surprised?

I am on day 5 & still no call from a maintenance person after calling & filing a claim. Assurant site says claim is still pending. That's 5 days and no refrigerator/freezer that I paid $1600 for 4.8 years ago. Save the money on warranties. You may need it to replace your groceries like me. If I could have rated this less, I would have.

I bought a Protection Plan to my Dishwasher. They are not professional. The technician was unpolite and he was in hurry. Guess what? The problem was there. After one week, he came again. He didn't do nothing. After that they scheduled 2 times and canceled. My dishwasher still without repair. They want our money! My advice: Don't buy it!

I bought a protection plan from Lowes for my washer and dryer. In the contract it clearly says that coverage period starts on 7/28, but after I called 10+ times and 10+ emails I was told that I have to wait 30 days for schedule someone to fix the problem. I think this is a consumer fraud and I want to go to the court. Anyone has the experience or suggestions? thanks.

The 2nd time my Whirlpool microwave broke

I keep getting different answers from the warranty company

Either way it's not fixable. It's been 4 weeks so far now I was told to wait until 7/ 8/22 it is a microwave over the stove and I need the fan more than the microwave. I have been disconnected several times waiting for a supervisor. I was originally told 24 hours once the original 10 working days past. Now it's another week

First, very hard to communicate as they only speak broken english but that is an issue for another time.

What a terrible extended warranty. 2.5 yr old Whirlpool Refrg/Freezer went out. Call Lowes service, took three days to send out repair company and they could not fix appliance, company was not qualified to handle since it had a Freon leak. Called Lowes back, they could/would not help since they needed to wait until they received the report from the repair company, which took three days. Before I could call them back, received an email stating the appliance had been repaired.

Called Lowes again. Service rep said she would file a claim to have it replaced but that takes two business days. Waited and called back the next Tuesday and they had no record of a claim and said they needed to send out a service company again. They wanted to send out the same company that had already said they could not fix it so finally convinced them to send a different company. Waited another three days. Repair company shows up and can’t fix it, has to order parts that are back ordered and estimate another two weeks for parts, MAYBE since they are on back order.

Called Lowes again, was basically told too bad, but since they ordered parts to repair I will need to wait for however long it takes.

REALLY! How long do you have to be without a refrigerator/freezer before they replace? Assurant is a terrible company and protection plan, with poor service and Lowes needs to step up and support the plan like they promised when it was sold. Like someone mentioned in a previous post, when you ask to talk to someone else, they just leave you on hold or hang up.

Just a poor experience all around and still not any solid resolution..

I am going through the same thing with my refrigerator. It went out June 22 and no one looked at it until July 19. Of course they had to order parts. The parts came to the house. It is now August 23rd and they have canceled numerous appointments without telling me each time and the refrigerator is still just sitting here. I have an appointment now for September 1 which I am sure will also be canceled without my knowledge. I have made numerous calls to the repair people and the warranty people, who are nice but very difficult for me to understand, but received zero satisfaction. I am at my wit's end.

It's a cat & mouse game with them, call center is probably outsourced. I still have my washer & dryer from SEARS. Lowe's fridges we have 4 of them.. not cooling, freezing foods, fruits and liquids.. now this Whirlpool fridge let's out an odor that permeates food in wax paper containers like milk, butter, lettuce, fruits and vegetables, eggs and of course your ice cubes have that taste. We got some help from a service that right away smelled the odor, it wasn't a Freon Leak.. it's Whirlpool the problem.. they keep sending other companies they all say we don't smell anything. By filing a complaint with the BBB against Whirlpool in Michigan to get the ball rolling, this fridge was any 5 months old.. it's a lemon. Do the same use the BBB file a complaint and you can do it online.

They care after the sale is over in the heavier money. They don't give a damn about your problem. I had the same experience trying to exchange a $900 Maytag washer the next day after I purchased it the agitator would no longer turn. They refuse to assist me in any way at the Bristol Virginia Lowe's store. Fred Smith Bristol Virginia

Similar issues! We bought a Samsung frig in 2020 and purchased the 3 year warranty. We’ve had over 10 claims! A few times it took weeks before they sent a service provider and each time the service provider needed to order parts. Meanwhile our frig ran all the time and our freezer had so much frost build up. This has been going on since 2020. We were told by another source that Lowe’s would have to reimburse us because of the number of claims however when I brought this to Lowe’s protection team member it was a different story! Well in June of 2023 we figured we should keep a warranty on this piece of crap so we renewed our protection plan $710.02! Early September our freezer started building frost again & we filed ANOTHER CLAIM! Three days later I received an email from Lowe’s Protection Plus stating they could NOT find a service provider in my area and they would send a GIFT CARD (of course to Lowe’s) in the amount we paid for our frig! WELL GUESS WHAT? Technically they only paid us $1200 and we paid $2100. Our original protection plan just ended on 9/13/23. We just have them $710.02 because Lowe’s refused to refund us for the plan we just paid for! I am so disappointed with Lowe’s and I DO NOT WANT TO BUY ANYTHING FROM THAT STORE!

Said they would replace my fridge, but it was not in stock. After a year of waiting for it to come back in stock, they said the Return Authorization expired and they would not renew it. Now I'm asking for a full refund of the extended warrantee that I never used and I'm getting hassled and terrible customer service. They keep telling me to send an email and not offering a phone number where I can get an update on my refund. And I'm not getting a response to my emails. Now I see the "scam" people are referring to. Buying the plan and making a claim are easy. Getting the service taken care of or complaining that you did not get the service is where you end up in a black hole. The call center you do call has no ability to escalate or give you a number to call. All they ask you to do is send more emails that get no response. According to them, they don't even have a number they can call. They can just "escalate" through the "system." What a scam indeed.

Run do not walk away from Lowes extended warranty sham.

First you wait on hold for over an hour each time. Connected to a representative who barely understands English, even when you repeat the Information they get it wrong, asking for a supervisor gets you disconnected (after the hour wait). Never a call or email (told repeatedly y they cannot email me). Refrigerator under three warranty not working.

Lowes warranty is a HUGE waste of your money.

Move your future purchases to Home Depot.

Hi

I have the same issue! Yes the supervisor at Assurant hangs up on you or puts you on hold till the phone times out. On May 6 they stated when I called to get repair done they kept telling me they were switching computers and couldn't find my extended warranty even though i could've sent them the paperwork proof of purchase and the actual contract they emailed me, but NOPE the don't do email or fax. Then they set me up with Bill & Rods Appliance which never showed up because they don't deal with lowes (gee I wonder why?). Now Ive got the genius's at A&E Factory Repair (Sears owns them) and let me tell you its the worst company to work with!We started this journey (with A&E) On May 27 and Im now set up for June 28 for repairs. In between this month's worth of time they've been out 3 times with all sorts of parts but everytime they change a part and its supposed to work and hour later if stops. The best part is everytime it has stopped after they've left I've called to let them know and they set me up another appointment 2 weeks out. So now i've been without a fridge and freezer for an entire month. I had Autumn Appliance come out a few months ago and they fixed that issue without waiting 2 weeks for an appointment or parts. A&E repair man lied straight to my face about the parts and service date and pissed all over the bathroom floor when i allowed him to use the restroom. On top of all that hes a predjudice [censored] and made rude comments of his co worker. Oh and he scratched my wood floor by laying down some dirty white plastic to roll the fridge out on. So NO MORE LOWES AND A&E FACTORY SERVICE REPAIR. Ive always been a Home Depot customer and this one time i got a better price from lowes vs home depot so I bought my appliances from them ($12780).

Purchased refrigerator/freezer with icemaker. 15 months later icemaker quits. File for extended warranty repair. Lowes says they will send out technician. Appointment is cancelled. Parts are ordered. Parts do not come in. Lowes says they will do a buy out. End of information. People at the store can not help. Called the number for their Assurant Customer Care - they can not find our contract or any information - they tell us they will get back with us in 48 hours. They do not get back with us. Call again. This time they find the contract and say they will get back to us in 48 hours - they do not. We try to buy part through Samsung but are not sure of the part number. Samsung says they will send out a tech and fix the ice-maker no charge. Appointment made within 24 hours. 2 days later the appointment is cancelled - Lowes is doing a buyout - told to contact Lowes. When I give Lowes the EPP Buyout number they can not find it.

My husband gave up. Local appliance repair man is actually coming out to fix unit. Obviously our extended warranty was a waste of money and not worth the paper it was written on. Do NOT get their extended warranties. (We have been loyal customers for 20 years. Note the past tense)

I bought a KitchenAid refrigerator for $4000 . There refrigerator stopped working after three years and Lowe’s is refusing to repair it, I have five years extended warranty . I didn’t receive an official letter saying that they won’t repair it, after four hours on the phone three weeks without the refrigerator and many excuses they said we decided to deny your claim.
We need to file a class action lawsuit against Lowe’s #Warranty.

A judge has ruled that, due to the clause of mediation in all but 7 states, a class action lawsuit cannot be filed. This is due to the class action that was filed in 2019 that was turned down by a judge. So, there is really no way to sue Lowe's. However, I would suggest emailing the CEO, letting him know of the problems you have had. His email address is marvin.ellison@lowes.com. The more emails he receives, the more likely it is that he will do something to get the repair completed.

I was speaking to the person who stated about filing a class action. It cannot be done. I already tried. Also. Suing for a less than $10k claim where you are paying attorneys fees up front is probably not the best utilization of your money since you will pay more to sue. The best you can hope for to get a resolution is to take it to small claims court. Anyone can sue anyone, correct. But the costs to do so may outweigh the cost to just buy something else after doing extensive research h and not purchasing an extended warranty. I was just educating on what I found through my experience speaking to attorneys. Did you take the time to do that. It is very easy to write a blanket statement. Doing the work to find out is a completely different story.

Anything one does is weighed against the effort to do so. If one believes he or she is right, the ultimate costs of litigation can get offset in a subsequent judgement.

Purchasing an extended warranty on the next fridge may not be a bad idea.

I bought a whirlpool refrigerator, a dryer, a freezer. But a five year extended warranty with each appliance. My whirlpool refrigerator is freezing my food. I have it on the lowest setting. I contacted the warranty provider through Lowes. They sent out a service man finally after a week he said I had my freezer too full my refrigerator to fall but they would go ahead and replace the sensor. So to give it benefit of the doubt I cleaned out half of the freezer a lot of the refrigerator. If I clean out anymore I might as will not even use it! And it is still freezing my food going below refrigerator temperature I bought a thermometer refrigerator thermometer. Contacted the service man he said I needed to get a second opinion. So I contacted the warranty company again over a week ago! And I have not heard anything! I had warranty on my food for $100 I made a claim of $51. Two weeks of gone by I haven’t even seen my $51! She said it would take a long time to get to the claims department. This company needs put out of business! If Lowes continues to associate with them as their warranty provider they are losing business. I will never buy from Lowe’s again I have lost my business forever. And I have bought a lot at Lowe’s! And a warranty with everything I bought and this is the first time I’ve ever used it. It’s not worth the paper it’s written on! There needs to be a class action lawsuit

I bought 2 GSW water heaters in October 2015 time frame IIRC when they were on sale and asked Lowes to keep them in the back room until I could pick them up/deliver which was in Feb 2016 IIRC. Lowes ended up delivering to my new house under renovation and my contractor brought one over to our old house. Lowes contractor ended up installing at the old house and my general contractor had his sub contractors for gasfitting and plumbing install at our house under renovation.

Anyway the water heater in our new house seemed to develop a leak around the water inlet valves and started to rust over time and I noticed this in the last 1 month or so with water on the basement floor. The water heater at the old house where my mom lives looks to be fine (knock on wood).

I had bought the warranty from Lowes for labour warranty and they sent out a plumber to inspect it and basically said that it wasn't covered under section 10 of their terms and conditions with respect to rust and faulty installation at the joint. All of this was beyond my control but I find it hard to believe that a plumber with 30+ years of experience would install a water heater incorrectly but water heaters rust generally from the inside out and on the bottom because the sediment collects there from the anode.

Anyway I went back and forth with them for about 2 weeks and went to my local Lowes that did nothing for me and went back to Assurant the insurance company that was supposed to back the warranty service and said this is complete BS and they have this terms in place so they don't have to pay out on the warranty. My warranty for the water heater expires in October 2021 apparently but it isn't worth the toilet paper I use let alone the paper it was printed on. I tried escalating to a "Supervisor" but they basically ended up telling me the same thing. Lowes corporate did nothing for me.

I ended up contacting GSW (A.O. Smith) here in Fergus, Ontario and explained the situation about it leaking and the representative gave me an RMA number and told me to peel the serial number sticker off the tank and go to the Lowes store and they would know what to do.

I setup an installation service with my local Lowes on the new tank because I figured if I get Home Depot or a 3rd party plumber to install they wouldn't want to do it (not a bundled job, don't want to warranty a 3rd party tank) or charge excessive costs for installation as there is nothing in it for them except their labour costs.

Anyway I got a new tank and ended up costing me $370+tax for delivery/installation reluctantly that I tried calling the supervisor back to get them to cover but they are a bunch of [censored]s. Anyway, perhaps this is why Lowes changed from Assurant to I believe Comerco now so perhaps they don't have these restrictions/exclusions.

Let's just say that this put a sour taste in my mouth and I will be very reluctant to buy anything big ticket from a big box store anymore but I'm not sure if a 3rd party plumber is going to be around either if I need to call them. I bought a JeldWen patio door from Lowes and JeldWen didn't backup their door either with the sweep rubbing.

Lowes refused to pay for repairs to my mower because "it ran over a rock" which they said was an exclusion to the warranty because it was an "accident." I paid $279 for the mower, $40 for the protection plan and then they wanted $170 for repairs a year and a half later. I am never shopping with them again. The protection plan is intentionally misleading and is a scam to get more money from the customer without giving any services for that expenditure.

I've bought a samsung dishwasher with extended warranty, have had it for 13 months so it's in the extended period. In the first 12 months it had 5 major repairs. It's a lemon, plain and simple. I think it was dropped during transport or something because I've had EVERYTHING replaced. During the 30 days it takes to call in the breakdown, wait for service, wait for parts, wait for part installation, etc you don't have use of the machine. So in 12 months I have had a working dishwasher for 7 months. NOT happy. And even with all this, Lowes refuses to replace it. I finally wrote to the CEO and he referred the letter to some guy I had already spoken with who had told me "too bad your loss." Yeah. That's the guy I got on the line again and he was saying the exact same thing, verbatim, in a monotone. He's a complete di-k and knows it. I am going to sue Lowes for a working dishwasher. So more later.

I purchase a extended warranty during Black Friday in 2011 for a Maytag washer and I thought Lowe's would repair my washer, but they are refusing to fix it due to what they are saying its not feasible to fix it due to what I paid for it. This is over $800 washer and because I got a good price on it they are trying to give me my money back for the washer. I have never hear of this before and I suggest for them to give me my money back for the warranty, dyer and both pedestals. I want it all refunded so I can go out and buy another washer and dryer from their competition. I will never shop in Lowe's again.

After i took off work! i called lowes and all they say is well we can try to reScheddule a third time. uhhh no thank you lowes! I'm DONE!

I also bought new appliances for my home, whirlpool refrigerator, stove, dishwasher and microwave and the ### extended warranty. I bought these appliances since October 2012 and since from the beginning the Whirlpool freezer had ice frosting in the upper freezer compartment. I contacted Lowes and they sent out the technician who came and changes the seal. Then the manufacture warranty finished and the extended warranty kicked in. After numerous visits from various companies and after changing different and the same parts and seals its the same. After speaking to various managers and listening to their bs stories about how to wait for an exchange from the store am still waiting. When I bought the warranty, the manager who sold us the appliances told us that if the appliance cannot be fixed, no problem Lowes will replaced it no worries. Well am still waiting for the exchange and see what happens next. The point is after three different companies and changing of the same parts about six times whats next. By the way one technician came and used silicone or caulking for the seal. Its now 2014 and the refrigerator is not fixed as yet, hope that the warranty does not run out.

i recieved on the internet, about the problems with all major brands of front load washers mold problems and also in the latest issues of consumer reports. I had been diligent about cleaning the washer, with clorax ect . leaving the door open ect. Bingo, i checked and I had mold. Samsung, said my warranty was up but I had an extended warranty from Lowes. If you want bad service, here is how to get it. Buy the washer pay for the extended warranty, then when you need them call and get an appt about mold, wait for the repairman, get a phone call at that time cancelling as Lowes does not cover it. Call Lowes corporate. Listen to head banging music for one hour, nasty man comes on line, and gives you the good word, that their word means nothing, that you should have picked up their pamphlet of exclusions or gone to the internet. Yes You are a senior and have no computer. Makes no difference. Read on the internet what to do to get rid of mold. You see it is what you have done for all that time. Clorax it. Call Store mgr. Nice person, Again however you should have gotten the pamphlet before leaving the st ore, but still he will try to help. He is leaving town but will turn it over to his ###'t mgr, who is our friend. and they will try and fix it. Yes and we now know why we are sick. Signed up for class action suit. Pending. love and hate lowes.

Agree. Had a problem with button on front loading dryer and also sensor . Had appt. they did not show up, called the service company and they said Lowes never sent it over. Called Lowes they said they did. So had to get another appointment.
The serviceman came out today, of course the button worked. i told him sometimes it does, sometimes not. Anyway, he said cannot fix if not broke! As for sensor, clean out the dryer duct. I clean my lint catcher after EVERY load.
So nothing accomplished. Warrenty expires in a few months, so guess out of luck.
Won't buy another Lowes warrenty or appliance.

Never again will I purchase a product from Lowes. I purchased an extended warranty for my a/c and when the product quit working, I called the service line. Because the item was too big to ship and not big enough to send a service tech out, they were going to reimburse me and that I was to receive and email with details as to what I was to do. At the same time I had taken seriously ill. I had not received anything and called back again stating that it took a little while for it to come via email. Called back again a day later and told that it was being sent out via regular mail with a sticker that I was to put on an envelope and send my receipt in and they would reimburse me. After this, I had been hospitalized, had surgery, and have one of two specialists now. All the while never receiving anything from Lowes. Called back, yes, a few months later, to inform them that I am still waiting to which I was told that because I did not respond to THEM in a timely manner, that they could no longer honor my warranty. I asked to speak with the supervisor Laura #154424, who told me that they only recorded 2 calls and that the computer doesn't lie. And that if I didn't receive anything, I should have called them back in a more timely manner and that they would not accept responsibility for not honoring the warranty. Interesting enough, she made a comment that on the "second call" an email had been sent out to the email they have on record but did not repeat the email addy to me. After hearing about issues with Lowes warranty protection, I will save myself the hassle and loss of funds by no longer purchasing a product from them. I will also make sure that those I know who are looking to purchase appliances to stay away from Lowes as they do not seem to have an honorable warranty system in place.

AGAIN! Lowes warranty do not do what they are suppose to do! We called almost 4 weeks ago to use our warranty to get our ice machine fixed on our whirlpool refrigerator fixed. It took the warranty company 8 days to find some one to come out and fix it. This guy was 120 miles away and has every excuse in the book why he can't make it. First he had to order part and then it was back ordered. He told us a total of 5 times he was coming to the house and never showed up. This last time we called the warranty number and they told us he was in the area and would be there shortly... @ 9:00 pm... They said they would have someone call us in 3 working days, I refused to do this another 3 days and had them call on Monday. They called... This is the real kicker... She told us that it had been going on to long and we would have to get our own repair man and pay him and they would reimburse us for the work only! The mileage would be on us! This is not the first time we have been screwed by Lowes warranties. And by the way the warranty still has a year left on it. I am sick and tired of being ripped off by warranties from Lowes!

i am not thrilled with the local lowes management team. i too have been told that this is cosmetic when in fact it is a poor design.. this panel houses all of the electrical stuff and sit next to the soap dispenser on the front loader washing machine. the break in the face plate allows soap and bleach and water to spray behind that panel. the panel is violated and it is indeed integral to the operation of the appliance. and of course my warranty is just about expired... :0(.

Lowe's extended service plan is a joke. it is not a service plan. they only pay 25% of the part cost if the part falls under their list. I wasted two weeks of time waiting for a response of only that. Misleading from the beginning. NEW also treats long term loyal Lowes clients that have spent thousands of dollars for the past 17 years like garbage. Waste of time and waste of money...I guess I will be shopping at Home Depot going forward and I will never get suckered into a service plan again. No wonder there are thousands of complaints online about these plans...read the 30 pages of terms and conditions if you have time, lol

@Keith - covering only electrical, electronic failures is quite normal on all plans - Sears covers cosmetics for the first 3 years, but you're paying for it with exhorbitant "Master Protection Agreements."
@michelle - yup, techs or plumbers in your case, don't jump at these opportunities because the extended svc plan administrator doesn't compensate them well.
@jim, @simpleguy10 - you both were had - three years were from the date of purchase and the mfr warranty is two years. Complain to their corporate offices in NC.
@exlowesemployee26 - if a customer has to read the fine print, the plan isn't worth the paper it is written on.

Just so everyone knows the extended warranty and Lowes are two totally different companies. Up until a few months ago Lowes used to sell National Electronics Warranty or NEW. Lowes got sick of them treating their customers bad so they did not renew the contract they had with them. NEW stopped using all of their good service centers (including my appliance repair business) and only uses cheap technicians because they only care about the money and not the customers. NEW mostly uses A&E Factory Service because they are cheap. Ironically, to the guy that said he went to Sear's, Sear's is the one that owns A&E Factory Service. So if you have a problem with your new appliance you will get the same people. You can even google A&E Factory Service complaints and they have so many complaints about cancelling appointments with customers without even telling them. There is a bright side. Lowes is now selling their own extended warranty so you will not have to worry about dealing with NEW. For anybody that is dealing with NEW because you bought the appliance before Lowes started selling their own extended warranty. If you have a problem with NEW (even if you call "Lowes extended protection line" they are actually NEW, too. NEW has a separate line for their Lowes warranties) call either the local Lowes store you bought it from or Lowes corporate office. I think you may be pleasantly surprised because I have heard customers tell me that Lowes backed them up and made NEW do something for the customer.

People at the Lowes store resolved nothing. Extended warranty does not return calls and neither does Lowes. Samsung offered to repair for free then the appointment was cancelled. Maybe they have a new warranty company but it is not worth the paper it is written on.

I'm glad to hear they're doing so much better. It sounds like they might be worth working with.

My stove has been broken since 10-20-10. It took 1 week for them to send a repair person who didnt fix it. Then they didnt show for the next visit since they didnt have the part. Too bad they didnt call to cancel. I missed another day of work. When I called they told me it was my responsibility to call to see the part came in. Now they say I have to wait 3-5 business days to see if the part comes in since they cant find it. I asked for a replacement stove. They claim I will have to wait 10-15 business days to detemine if I can have it replaced. They would give me a Lowes credit card for my replacement stove. That will move the final date to 12-3-10. I gave up and went to Sears and purchased a new stove. Lowes will never get the part and it will take too long for my family not to have a working stove.

It was big mistake to buy Lowes extended warrenty for my Lawnmower. I bought 3-year extended warrenty and then I had problem with my Lawnmower and called Lowes warrenty number and they told me to take it back to the nearest Lowes store and they said I have to pay $25 fee so that they can send it to a service repair center. WHY? I had to call the Lowes warrenty number again and had them talk to the store. They finally agreed to take it but because there was littlebit of gas in it, they said I have to take it home and empty the gas and bring it back.

I got really frustrated and called the Lowes warranty number and ask them for service center so that I can take it to. Anyways, I ended up taking the Lawnmower to a repair center associated with Lowes. Few days later, I got a call from the service center saying that the carburetor needs replacement but NOT covered by my warranty. When I asked why? They said, the carburetor was dirty. Of course lawnmowers get dirty because they are outdoor machines. I ended up paying $90 out of packet to repair it. Bottom line, DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON EXTENDED WARRANTY FROM LOWES.

What part of the terms and conditions exclusion #4 don't you understand. If I remember properly it states "These plans DO NOT cover:", and #4 is COSMETIC DAMAGE. So, next time you want to complain about your warranty, I suggest you read your terms and conditions thoroughly before doing so. I'm not saying the plan is perfect but since I'm an educated consumer when it comes to my warranties, I have never experienced a problem with them.

I also had money stolen from me by Lowe's under the scam of an extended warranty. I lost $190 covering a lawn mower I was told for 3 years PAST the manufacturer's warranty, only to be told today it has expired, 3 years after purchase. I will be contacting authorities in the morning.

Do not purchase an extended warranty through lowes, we have a whirlpool hot water heater we bought with an extended warranty, it went up on sunday, we also had a carbon monoxide leak, 3 days later it is still not fixed, lowes promises to call me back, but never does. When i finally talked to someone they told me it could take a week to be looked at. Even with a health risk they dont get the ball rolling any faster. Complete waste of time!

Yes, we are experiencing the same negative level of service from Lowe's with their Extended Warranty. It seems to be a scam where they can make an extra couple hundred dollars.
