Lowe's check cashing policy

I've been shopping for many years at your store. Then today checking out I am informed that Lowes won't except a check from my husbands check book that I signed because he's not present. That account is a joint account and I presented my drivers license to the cashier. Never had a problem before today. I pay our bills by signing my husbands checks and it's my choice not to put my name on the checks. I want to know what I can present to the cashier that will be excepted by the store when I make a purchase using my husbands check book. I would be a fool to use a check I'm not authorized to use. I hope to continue shopping at your store but it depends on solving this problem.

Lowe's veterans discounts

While lowes advertises that they give discounts to veterans they don't! They only give discounts to disabled vet's and those who can prove they have 20 in the service and have retired. All other vet's can forget about any discount from lowes. Don't shop at lowes!

After going to some effort, I took all my DD-214'a etc to the Motor vehicle Driver License Bureau and got my DL changed to show that
I am in fact a "VETERAN" and my DL is my primary ID. Lowes in so many words said they would not accept that as proof of being a Veteran.

Lowe's disappointment in customer service

As a Contractor, my time is hectic and valuable. Della, at the Pro desk, understands this and treats ALL Contractors with respect and expedites their purchases. The other day, Roger (at the Pro Desk) told me to stay at the cash register and the girl would ring me up first, before going on to the next person. As he walked away, she looked at me, walked around me and went to the next guy in line, and began scanning his items, deliberately ignoring me. It was NOT the first time she has shown an attitude towards me. I had NEVER walked out before, but I did THAT day! By the way, I'm giving Foxworth Galbraith both the over $3, 000.00 order AND the delivery fee... Lowes has been a disappointment in customer service. Roger and Della are two shining lights in a place that has gone way down, since opening in Marble Falls...The NEXT $100, 000 goes to Foxworth Galbraith, also. They have ALWAYS been Prompt, COURTEOUS and Professional to me.

Lowe's service for whirlpool refridgerator

Lowes extended service plan has not fixed my freezer and it has been 9 weeks. It took them 3 months to fix my ice maker. We bought a Whirlpool refrigerator from Lowes on 9/1/13 with a extended service plan. My freezer stopped working and I found food items thawing on September 17 2015. I placed a call to the service center and was set up with service on 9/28/15 for someone from RTA repair service to come by. The guy said he needed to replace the compressor and it takes up to 10 days to get the part. After hearing nothing back, on 10/5/15 I called the service center and they informed me it would be another 2 weeks before they can fix it and offered a loner freezer which I have had to place in my garage due to lack of space. 10/23/15 RTA called said they had the part and would come on 11/3/15 to replace it. It was replaced on 11/3/15. The freezer continues to not work. I called back on 11/6/15 to tell Lowes service center. They made appointment for 11/13/15 for another repair call - NO ONE CAME AT THAT TIME. On 11/6/15 I was also told someone would call me about possible replacement/buy out since it had taken so long - No one called. On 11/15/15 I called again and they said RTA company said on 11/13/15 that job was "completed". Supervisor said they would look into it and I would hear in 3-5 days -there was no call. I called again 11/20/15 and they said they would look into it and call, she called only to say she is working on it and will need to talk to RTA and get back to me next business day - No one called. on 11/11/13 and 11/23/15 the Lowes local store called to say they need the loner freezer back because their records show my fridge is fixed. On 11/23/15 I called service center again and after another lengthy call was told my buyout/replacement request was denied "there is nothing we can do" except schedule you for another service call on 11/27/13 for the same company to come back out. I asked to speak to this person's supervisor and was told there is no one else I can speak with. The person I spoke with was only authorized to schedule another repair call for me. The person who denied the buyout request does not take customer calls. It has been over 2 months and many HOURS of phone calls to the service center. They are not responsive. The contractors that provide the service are not reliable- they claim they repaired something that is still not working. They make appointments that they do not show up for. The supervisors at the service center say they will call and do not. I paid for an extended service plan which they are not delivering on. I have no other choice. I cannot buy another fridge because I just bought this one and IF they ever fix it I will have 2. I cannot hire my own repair person because they will then claim it was damaged by someone else. There was an additional separate issue that is also pertinent, with the ice maker that has been going on since 8/5/15. On 8/5/15 I called to report my icemaker was not working, they set up for service from Whitman Appliance repair on 8/12/15. Repairman came and told me he need to order a part and will call back when the part was in. When I called back about 4 weeks later Lowes said the repair man said it was fixed. They then set me up to have repair with RTA repair service who also came and said they would need to replace a part. It was ultimately replaced on 11/3/15.

Lowe's they do not know how to respond to customer complaints

Lowes informed me that I should expect a call from the installer between 8-10 a.m. The installer called at 8:10 a.m. As soon as I received the message (8:20 a.m.), I called the installer and he said that I was supposed to be his first job, but since I didn't return his call fast enough (10 minutes), he had been instructed by Lowes to go to his second job first. He said he was on the way to that job and, therefore, could not come to my house until sometime in the afternoon. I called Vicky at the Lowes for Ann Arbor [protected]) to complain and get a resolution, since the installer had not started the work at the location that was supposed to be his second job. She said she would try to find a solution and would call me back. She never called back. I'm still waiting. So far my experience with this company is that they do not know how to respond to customer complaints and their approach to scheduling work is unforgiving in the extreme. They will never say they're sorry and if you express frustration they put you on hold. If you call the national customer service number, [protected]) you are subjected to a barage of ads. Only after you have listened to the ads for 5-10 minutes does the recording say that the number has been changed. Little wonder they have changed their customer service number. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

Lowe's appliance delivery

We purchased $2300+ of appliances from Lowes over one month ago from the store in Panama City Beach, FL. We called numerous times up to the scheduled delivery date of 11/14 to confirm delivery and were told yes, they will be delivering on 11/14 after 11 AM. We called the morning of 11/14 and then told they would deliver between 2-5 PM. At 4 PM we became concerned and called to the store and asked for the Manager. We got the Asst Manager Brandon, who then told us that there was "weather" that caused a delay and they would be there by 8 PM. Really Brandon? We are here, there is no weather, it is 68 and sunny. Brandon personally guaranteed they would deliver, but they failed to do so. I need to head back to Jacksonville int eh morning (and I told Brandon this) and could not wait for delivery the next day. He assured me it would be here tonight, and that ended up being a lie. I will now be heading down to the store and request a full refund for our appliance purchase, but I'm sure "Brandon" will have another story for me as to why it was not delivered today. HOME DEPOT HERE WE COME! Do not trust Brandon or Lowes in Panama City Beach, FL.

Lowe's water heater extended protection plan

In February of 2008 I purchased a Whirlpool water heater from Lowe's and Purchased a 12 year Extended protection plan with it. The water heater malfunction on 9/9/15 severely enough it tripped the main breaker in my house shutting off all the power. when I purchased the plan from Lowe's I was told all I had to do was call the number and someone would be out in a couple off days, when I called I was told I was in a rural area and they would have to located a provider and call me back in 48 hours to schedule an appointment. I Got a call a few hours later and was told that there were no providers in my area and they would figure out a resolution. I live 2 MILES from the store where I bought it! I got an email the next day saying they could not repair it so they were sending me a gift card for the original purchase price that I would receive in 10 to 15 business days! The contract states that if it could not be repaired it would be replaced with a new on including installation charges, and new one that is the same is now 499 not the 444 that I paid, plus there would be delivery and installation on top of it! I talked to the assistant store manager Scott Williams and got no where. I feel very ripped off, and feel Lowe's is very dishonest selling contracts that can not be honored. I told the lady from the service contract company that called and told me there was no one in the area that repaired hot water heaters that there where alot of them and gave her names and was told they did not have a contract with then and if I used one of them I would not be reimbursed. So now I am looking at 2 to 3 weeks to receive a gift card that will only cove about half of what it will cost to replace and 2 to 3 weeks of no hot water. The impression I got when talking to the store that it was no big deal to have no hot water for several weeks! I feel that I should be credited the full amount that it would cost to have it replaced, not just a partial. The contract that I was sold stated that, I also feel that these contracts should not be sold since they can not be honored and Lowe's should be more truthful when they are sold and not tell people that someone will be out in a couple days.

Lowe's home improvement - general

This store never misses an opportunity disappoint. Whether it is allowing contractors to park their vehicles and block the loading area while they shop, the poorly trained cashiers or the management people who are non-existent to problems within the store. Today, their ONE staffed garden register malfunctioned. Rather than alert management and start diverting customers to registers inside the store, it took one of the other employees to notice the 8 customers and make an announcement. This is typical of this Lowe's (and what I have read ALL Lowe's) poor service and management.

Lowe's aeratis porch floor boards

Lowe’s is not loyal to its loyal customers; at least that is my experience. I am stuck with an ugly porch floor composed of flooring manufactured by Aeratis and sold by Lowe’s. I received an inferior looking product to the one I ordered. In addition, more than one third of the boards received were either damaged or defective. I was in a heated dispute with both Lowe’s and Aeratis as to who was responsible for weather damages occurring to the weatherproof boards prior to their installation. Neither Lowe’s nor Aeratis provided any guidance on how to store the weather proof boards in the weather. It was a contentious dispute that lasted more than six weeks. Finally Lowe’s and Aeratis were willing to replace the damaged boards, but they did not give me boards matching the original boards. These new boards were much better looking than the original boards but they differed greatly in color and surface texture. The installation of these new boards would have made the floor uglier. The delivery of these new boards also made it apparent that the original boards I received were from a discontinued product line. Nonetheless neither Lowe’s nor Aeratis were willing to assist me further. I am stuck with an ugly floor. I will never shop at Lowe’s again. I would not recommend Aeratis to anyone.

Lowe's customer veterans discount (dis) service

I need two 50 Gallon gas water heaters because we recently had a heater fail in our attic and caused considerable damage. Not Lowes' problem. I decided to replace them with Lowe's Whirlpool 50 Gallon, 9 year warranty, Item #: 592559 | Model #: 50T9-40NG I went to Lowe's in Hammond, LA but they only had one and it had a damaged box and dent in the side. I called the Metairie, LA store, talked to Customer Service and learned that they had 7 in stock. At the time I asked if they had a veteran's discount and told them that I am a veteran but have no " Veterans" picture ID card but I have a copy of my discharge and a picture ID driver’s license. I was told that that would work and to bring them when I make a purchase. I drove the 60 miles to Metairie, loaded a water heater on a flat cart and went to check out at Register #1. The clerk informed me that I needed a veteran’s picture ID I told her that I had already called Customer Service at that store and was told that my DD 214 and Driver’s license would work. The clerk would not accept that or give me the Veterans Discount on her authority. She made 4 or 5 different phone calls to different people trying to get someone to make a decision and approve the “override” over the course of the next 10 minutes. Meanwhile, the line of customers behind me was growing with other potential customers. I was embarrassed. I asked for the Manager. The clerk called someone and told them the situation and that I wanted to speak to them. After another 5 minutes with no authority figure showing up at register #1, I decided to shop elsewhere and register this complaint. Attached is a picture of one of my new water heaters that I purchased from Home Depot. By the way, Home Depot had NO PROBLEM giving me the Veteran’s discount with my DD214 and Driver’s license. This is the second and last time that I will be embarrassed at Lowe’s while trying to use your advertised veteran’s discount. I won’t put myself through that again I assure you. Jerry read the lowes website before you spout off the veterans discount is 3x per year memorial day, 4th of july, and veterans day there policy is crystal clear ...Military discount with service connected va picture id, retired or dependent with a valid (not expired) id or active duty with valid id get a discount everyday...As you posted your comments on 10/14 clearly it was not one of the veteran discount holiday...

Lowe's remote control for light and fan

I'm a "call it to fix it for whatever it is" type of person. So, it came as no surprise when my son's step-mom and I were talking about the fan in my son's room and how I magically "fixed" his ceiling fan and light that go to a remote control. So, she asked if I minded fixing her daughter's fan and light with remote control. I said, "Sure, no problem." However, there seems to be no fix to this problem. There should be a website for Harbor Breeze customers that contains a link that easily explains how to reset or "fix" the remote control that goes to the ceiling fan and light.

Lowe's store customer service

Whoever answered the phone at the lowe's customer service desk @ 115 foxon blvd. New haven, ct 06513 store #0593 I am just now cooling off a bit after the most angering experience I have ever had in a store. I went to lowe's with my friend so he could by some plywood. We loaded a sheet of plywood and went to the saw table to have them cut it for him. We looked for a call button and none was to be found, walked up and down isle after isle looking for an associate again none to be found. So I called the store on my cell and told the operator where I was an what I needed and asked if he could page someone to help us which he did. We waited and waited so I called again and explained that we were still waiting at the saw and if he could page someone again and this is how the conversation went. O: thanks you for calling lowe's how may I direct your call. M: hi I am still waiting by the saw to get some wood cut can you page someone again please. O: who are you? M: excuse me. O: who are you? M: what go you mean who am i? I am a customer back at the saw waiting to get a piece of wood cut; o: then get off of the “f*ing” phone, click! I must have looked like a cartoon character because I could feel my face getting hotter by the sec. Now at this point I am like “oh hell no!” I walked or half ran from the back of the store up to the customer service desk to see who this person was that just answered the phone was. When I got there the first thing I asked for was for them to page a manager. While I was waiting for the manager to appear there were 2 female on 2 male associates there. When the manager arrived I explained to him what happened and by this time it was down to 2 female and 1 male associates behind the counter. He asked one of the females what male associate was answering the phones. Surprisingly enough they all seemed to be experiencing amnesia. They did say they thought it might be this one guy but they weren't sure. So the manager asked me what I was buying and surprised at the question I said wood, why? Then he said he would come down with me to make the purchase and he would give me a discount. I looked at him and said I don't want a discount I want who ever answered the phones job, that's what I want! So we go off looking for the associate that the manager thinks is the one who was on the phone and on the way he tells me it is store policy not to reprimand an associate on the floor that he would take the associate into his office and have a talk with him at which I said no problem but your going to do in front of me. We get to the other end of the store and there are 4 different male associates standing there and the manager asks one of them were you answering the store phones and he said no. I happen to know that he was behind the desk when I went up. So this manager starts off with i'm not sure who answered the phone and there really isn't anyway to find out who was. So I said to him really! You mean to tell me you have no way of knowing who is answering the phone? He said no not really. So at this point I saw that this was useless and before I went totally ballistic I told him ok. Sense you have know way of knowing what your employees are doing then it will be up to corporate to figure it out then won't it. So I repeated corporate will have to handle this situation being that you have no clue what is going on in your store and I left. Now here's the question will lowe's corporate let this go unchecked?

Lowe's personal check denial

I purchased a $500 gift card at Lowe's on 10/6/15. Store number #2345, Lexington, Ky. I politely asked if Lowe's accepted personal checks and the cashier confirmed they did. I should have been told that it was up to some goofy company named Certigy. I gave them a personal check and provided all identification they asked ONLY to have the check declined by some company called Certigy. I should be asking for their Identification! Now, Certigy in order to complain with them want oh you know such things as My name and address, my phone number, my checking account number, my bank. Why in the blue blazes would I ever give them that?! Lowe's needs to learn to do business locally the old fashioned way...earn it. Lowe's is now on my "blank" list and everyone I know will hear of this transgreission on personal rights.

Lowe's crosswinds ceiling fan

Purchased two ceiling fans three years ago; turned off one of the fans one morning and when turned on at night, the fan remote would not work, nor would the pull chains operate the fan and light. Replaced the fan receiver and remote, along with the motor switch. This worked, but the fan speeds are no where near what they were when the fan had original parts -- now the highest speed is as slow as the original lowest speed -- that is it -- no more, no less -- barely moves air. The second fan has been working wonderfully! I am going to replace the troublesome fan. Why don't replacement parts work just as well as the original? This makes no sense to me. You spend all the money on a product and have to make repairs (understandable), but why don't the replacement parts work as well as the original?

Anyway in a few weeks the door and screen were delivered when the contractor tried to install the screen he saw a roller was missing. we were told he would contact the store for a new one to be cut. The second one came it didn't fit today 9/5 I am waiting for a third screen all I get are promises no door

Lowe's vicious dogs in the store

I was disgusted about going in the store in Thomasville to see animal poop and urine on the floor. I also am upset about customers having vicious animals in the store. People should feel safe when shopping in any establishment. My husband was nearly bitten by a dog who growled when he got close to it. I am so upset for the company allowing animals in the store.

Lowe's metal roof installation

In February of 2014 I contracted with Lowes to install my metal roof and a skylight in my bathroom. The contract states the job was to be completed by March of 2014. ( 1 month). The job remains incomplete as of today 9-7-2015. The contractors that Lowes hired to do the roof are out of North Carolina. This crew made many trips to my home working on my roof and to install the skylight. I had to call them back several times as my roof was leaking all around the skylight every time it rained. Lee, the leader of the roof crew would come and place multiple tubes of caulk on the roof around the skylight. Lee made the comment that if they had installed the roof properly around the skylight that it wouldn't leak like that. After he made a few trips out for complaints of leaking he finally repaired it properly on the roof side. I was still left with a mess on the inside of my bathroom from all of the stains that occurred from the leaking. After multiple phone calls and trips to the West Ashley Lowes, they finally sent someone to repaint my bathroom ceiling and finish cutting in the skylight on the inside. This person made a disaster of my bathroom and left the job incomplete. I pay my bill every month on time when it comes in, why, because if I don't I will be turned in for failure to pay and my credit will be ruined ( like my roof thanks to Lowes). This job ran around 15, 000.00 not chump change by any means. I did hire a lawyer to assist me with Lowes. The Lawyer states that Lowes admits that there is a problem with the work that was done on my house. Lowes expects me a 70 year old disabled man to obtain work estimates from different contractors to make the necessary repairs. I do not think it is my place to have to obtain these estimates. I hired Lowes to do the job and I pay monthly for this incomplete mess. What do I want done you ask. I want Lowes to hire a non-biased roofing company to come out and look at my metal roof and give their opinion. Also I want Lowes to hire a Professional crew to finish the skylight installation . I will not have someone come out and do the work because then Lowes can turn around and say that the warranty is null and void because I had someone else to do the work . I don't think it's too much to ask for Lowes to put this project to rest after 17 months of this nightmare with Lowes.

"Lowes expects me a 70 year old disabled man to obtain work estimates from different contractors to make the necessary repairs."

If your disability does not hamper your ability to type this complaint, then it will not hamper your ability to get said quotes. You're being unreasonable with the perfectly reasonable solution Lowes has provided you.

"I want Lowes to hire a non-biased roofing company to come out and look at my metal roof and give their opinion"

If the are hiring someone then how could they not serve the interests of the person who pay's the bills. This is why they asked YOU to get the estimates...

Lowe's bissell carpet shampooer rentals

I called the store prior to deciding to use their carpet cleaner. I asked the customer service on the phone if their carpet shampooers are cleaned out before renting them, only because I kept having bad experience with other business with the same problem. When I purchased the shampooer the customer service rep brought the shampooer over and lifted up the 2 canisters and began filling out the paperwork. She explained the costs and the fee if the shampooer did not come back clean. My mistake is I should have inspected it throughly before leaving the store. Once I got home, I began to fill the canister with solution and water within the first two or three swipes on my carpet, a huge clump of carpet and hair came from the bottom of the shampooer. And when I lifted up the bottom, there were more clumps of dried carpet and hair stuck to it.

These stores charges people $15.00 if they are not cleaned and then they don't clean them and hands it to the next person who rents them, this making a quick $15.00 off people.

When you clean them out, there are crevices that are harder to reach. After you clean them and you roll this shampooer this stuff starts sliding down from the inside because it is still wet. Some people feel like the cleaned them and then until you go to return it, this stuff finally slides down And they go to look at it and then they charge people a fee. Then leaves it there and after the get their cleaning fee, so the next renter gets the joy of this stuff to throw in the trash.

Be very careful. They do this to make money!

Lowe's unwarranted late fees

Just got off the phone with Lowes Visa Credit Collection agent I was getting calls saying that I had not paid my August payment.

The agent was very helpful The issue was that I had paid my August payment TOO EARLY!

The August payment was not due until the 15th. The statement closed on August 2nd. I made my payment on August 2nd. Therefore their computer considered that I had paid and extra payment in July - but did NOT give me credit for the payment made in August, on my account Then they increased the payment from $127 to $355?

So basically I'm being penalized for making my payment early.

The agent talked to his supervisor and they removed the late payment fee. Their advice - don't make payments early Wait until later in the month.

I appreciate the helpfulness of their customer service people - but this should NEVER have happened.
