Long Island Ragdolls - Plainview, NY review: Kitten with HCM 1

I too purchased a kitten from this breeder in 2010. At the time, there were no negative reviews so i proceeded with the purchase. Within days of purchase, i took the kitten to the Vet for his initial evaluation. Unfortunately, they do not test for HCM so he received a clean bill of health. My kitten showed no issues and had a very active life...for 7 months that is! At the very early age of 7 months my little baby had a massive heart attack and died. The Vet stated it was due to HCM. The bills in an attempt to save my kitten cost almost $3000.00. I contacted the breeder who seemed very sorry and claimed to never had this issue before. Again I searched the internet and found no negative reviews so I believed them. I did not accept another kitten, thank god, but received a refund of my purchase price only. I made sure to follow strict guidelines before getting my next baby. DO NOT purchase a kitten from this breeder! They do not test their kings/queens for HCM. I am so glad to see this finally coming to the surface. I never posted because I did not want to impact the breeder for a "one off" instance. Apparently this is happening to many of her kittens and the fact that they continue to breed is a crime!
