I recieved a$500.00 loan from loan Point usa in 2008, I understood that they would deduct by weekly paymentsd from my bank account until the balance was paid. However, to my understanding the fee would equal $120 .00 which equals $620.00 repayment total after repaying close to $700.00 and numerous phone calls wih rude reps., from loan point I realized it...

Loan Point USA Scammed?

I wish I would have read the other complaints about Loan Point USA before I got a loan from them. All I can say is "shame on me" for not reading the fine print (?). Of course they could have told me that they would take $180 in fees from me very two weeks with it NOT PAYING DOWN MY BALANCE of the loan. I'm not sure if I am more mad at myself for being stupid or at them for being "not clear" on the agreement. I had a $600 loan which I have probably paid them over $2000 which NON went to the balance. I didn't realize the payments weren't lowering my balance for quite awhile. I hope more people check into this company before they get a loan through them.

We just had the same thing happen to us. They were taking out $210 not touching the balance at all. We finally had to beg our bank for a loan to pay it off and keep an eye out because they continue to take money out even after paid off! Well that's what we've read anyways. It's funny when you call and there are no supervisors that work there. And the people just say the same thing over and over again until you hang up. It very much ruined us financially.

Loan Point USA excessive fees

Loan point usa loaned me $400 and it ended up costing me over $1000 in the end. They automatically withdraw the money from your checking account and none of it goes to paying back the loan, it is an extension fee. They dont give you enough time to pay back the money. They dont notify you that they are going to start withdrawing money. They dont send emails with any monthly statement activity. This company needs to be shut down. They take advantage of people when they need help.. I filed a complaint with the better business bureau.

so, so TRUE, I needed money quick and had no other way to borrow money, so I went with loanpoint. I had no idea that when there is less than $20 left to pay back, they dont take the whole amount, they took $6 one week and $4.50 the following pay cylce. On the balance owed you dont have the choice to pay that total off all together, so of course there were finace fees involved in the final payment. RIP OFFS

I paid $32.67 for a XBOX 360 and my mom got a 17 inch Toshiba laptop for $94.83 being delivered to our house tomorrow by FedEX. I will never again pay expensive retail prices at stores. I even sold a 46 inch HDTV to my boss for $650 and it only cost me $52.78 to get. Here is the website we using to get all this stuff, CentBuzz.com

I agree, the fees are too high and it's not fair that none of the money from fees paid goes to your loan. I will never do this type of loan ever again. I was in a pinch and needed the money, I didn't have a choice, but i don't deserve to be taken advantage of.

I just got a phone call from a collection company and was informed that I got a loan from loan point. I have never received a loan from this company. I tried to explain to the representative that I didn't but she would listen to me. I told her that I was a victim of identity theft and she told me that I would still have to pay for this loan.

My situation is the same as those who have posted above me. I took out a loan back in 2009. I don't even remember for what amount ($5-700 sounds about right). I, as well as my brother and sister (who I might add I do not live with and one is out of state) have received multiple phone calls over the last few days. I did call the number back left on my voicemail and spoke to a gentleman who gave me all this information and said they have "attempted to serve me paper but were unsuccessful at the address they have on file" yet not once did he even verify the address they had on file was even correct. I do not deal with these calls very well and finally just said that I could not discuss this issue any further and the I needed to check my records and that I would call them back. I was basically told that by me not making a payment arrangement with them over the phone THAT VERY MOMENT, that I was stating my intentions on how to proceed. I was also ridiculed for the fact that I stated I could not speak any further on the matter by being told, "well, you called us back so you had time to do that, but not to make payment arrangements" I was told with "attorney fees and court costs" my balance is now well above $5k. WHAT? I KNOW what was taken out of my bank account far exceeded what I borrowed (even with any interest they may have charged - at least double). One piece of advice...if they are threatening to serve you, ask them for an actual CASE number from the court...a DOCKET NUMBER is NOT a CASE NUMBER! and ask them for the attorney that is handling the "case" in your state...See how quick they hang up (well, my boyfriend told me to that if they call me back again) Good luck everyone and hopefully these jokers don't ruin everyone's holiday!

Antmannie...would you believe that they are still trying to harass us with that same exact story from 2 years ago? They were supposedly going to send us to jail, serve us papers, etc as well but nothing has happened as yet. My advice...I really don't have any. When we cornered them on it 2 years ago they claimed we were frauding them because they claimed we put something on our application that wasn't true with regards to my husband's employment at the time. I would never lie about something like that and they claimed that since I supposedly put that information on there that I was frauding them. I then in turn said really? if that is the case then how come when I spoke with my bank they couldn't find any information with regards to your company? They then proceeded to hang up on me. Go figure. They still call every year about this time several times a day from a Beloit WI phone # to my husbands phone and never answers and they never leave a message. I would contact local law enforcement and also make sure that your bank is aware that you may be getting your identity tampered with. Good luck!

MaWy...I was reading your post and I know it is 2 years old but I am curious as to what you did. These people started calling me yesterday saying that I took out a loan 12/2007. I checked with my bank and they said there are no deposits from this company. How did you handle this and what was the outcome?
They said they are filing legal charges against me and that I will be served with papers to appear in court.
Any help in this matter is greatly appreciated.
I tried calling the number that everyone listed in this forum but it hangs up on me everytime that I call.

These people are crooks. I was contacted by someone from a Diversified Asset Recovery (or DAR) saying that I owed $1750 for a personal that I took out. When I tried to draw more information out of them it finally boiled down to a loan they say I took out with LoanPoint for $500. When I told them I had no knowledge of this, they verified my address and home number (as they had called me at work) and said since they had the correct information there's no way it couldn't be valid. I tried to hang up to get some time to contact my bank and find out if the transaction was even valid, but this lady wouldn't let me until I agreed to monthly payment arrangements to begin coming out with the next paycheck. Since then, I've spoken with the PA Attorney General's office and the Department of Banking, both of whom have advised me that Payday loans are ILLEGAL in the State of PA, and that even if they were to move forward with legal action, the most judgement they would get against me would be the $500 they say they originally loaned me. Now, since I've given them my credit card information, I have to cancel that card and get a new one so that they don't start randomly charging my account and throwing me into overdraft. If there is a lawsuit pending, I want to be front and center. Contact me, tswalker83@hotmail.com.

They have done me the exact same way as everyone else. I've repaid them and they continue to harass me daily at home and at work.
The original 400 dollars that Iborrowed from them has been repaid and they still threaten me with suing me and all kinds of other crap like telling my employer that I am a crimal . They now claim that I owe them $ 1700 and that tha the sheriff will be bringing paper to my job. I just refuse to talk to them any more because I have proof that thay were repaid twice over, . I to had to close my checking account and open another one with another bank. Even the bank was starting to garnish my wages because Loan Point continued to try and draw money from my account when there was nothing to withdraw. They are a dispicable group of thieves and theydesreve to be put out of bussiness.
