Light In The Box I should have known better

Don't get sucked in. I'm so mad at myself because I didn't thoroughly check this site out before ordering from them. I purchased a few tops from them in similar styles. I'm a size small. No ifs, ands, buts about it. Always a size small. The tops are all supposedly a size small or "one-size" which according to the site fits small/medium sizes.
Unfortunately every. single. top. fits COMPLETELY differently - from being too tight to even put on without ripping it (I'm 5'0/100lbs - did they send me a child's shirt?!) to having the sleeve holes go down to my belly button and the shirt go down to my knees (XL style, like nightshirt worthy).
I thought - oh I'll purchase just one top to see how my order goes, and before I knew it, I was $60 in the hole with a boxful of blouses because they had so many "positive" reviews and adorable looking items. Oh and everything was so cheap!
Well not so much. $60 for nuttin.
Just don't do it. Oh - and they won't take a return for things not fitting - I did see that on the site, but thought - how hard could it be since I'm ALWAYS a small and there should be no issues? Oh were there issues. Just don't. Don't do this to yourself.

I purchased $251 worth of merchandised on multiple items and returned shoes of poor quality and leatherette. You think that was the end of it, right? Wrong - I got the bill $25 for customs (DHL) even though I sent it to an address in the US.
After several correspondence the LITB service rep wrote "We are willing to provide you a USD25.70 rewards which values FULL tax fee or process refund of 50% of the tax fee, which will be USD12.85. Could you please tell us which solution you prefer? I chose refund at a lower value just to move past it. Guess what - I did not get a refund. I got rewards (hardly) at a lower rate which means you get the "rewards " if you shop twice the amount! What a scam. I wrote back - "You said either rewards at $25.70 or refund at $12.85. I chose refund (even if smaller amount just to close the issue) but you lie. Giving me rewards (lower amount at that) and still keeping me hooked into your system by putting more money in. Ive had it with you. You lie.
Beware folks, do not deal with this company. Its not worth the headache.

Light In The Box faulty product

I purchased two tablets in July as presents and now one of them will not charge. I contacted Light in the Box only to be told that I had 30days in which to send it back and that has elapsed so I was offered a $20 gift card to spend on their website. The tablets were cheap but with the delivery and import charges they worked out alot dearer than if I had waited and purchased them locally. Within hours of this company taking a payment from my account, my bank called to advise that someone in Maritus was trying to pay for goods with my card number. They cancelled the card and no monies came out of the account but I am still angry for the theft of my details. This company is disgusting and when was a 30 Guarantee any type of guarantee at all when it comes to electrical goods. Steer clear of this company. They are usless and sell on your details.

just bought a dvr after 4 days stop working, contacted them and they want me to take the dvr to a local repair shop and they will pay me for repair cost.. im very skeptical about refunding the cost.

Light In The Box wrong answer to my complaint

Hi,
Bought two pairs of dance shoes which were a size to small for me and needed to exchange them for a size bigger. I had read where I had 7 days from the day I received the items to lodge a letter to inform the company for a refund or exchange.
The shoes arrived on the 30th December 2013, but was out when the delivery came, so had to go to the post office the next day the 31st to collect the parcel.
Immediately after I tried the shoes on, I wrote to the company and explained that the shoes were to small for my feet and that I would appreciate an exchange for a bigger size and would they let me know if there was anything else I needed to know before I post them back to them and where should I post them back to, here or China.
I immediately received a very confusing response back, apologising to me for not receiving the parcel as yet (I never said that!) and that they will give me a 20% discount on my next order for the incovenience they caused me. I wrote another email to them and explained that I had got the shoes and never said anything about not receiving them.
I lodged my request to them via email on the 31st. December and another on the same day explaining why I got such a complete different response from them which was not what I wrote all all. The second email has not been answered yet, unlike the first request when they resonded almost immediately. Now, the 7 working days from the day the parcel was received are the 30Th, 31st Dec. Holiday Jan2 2014 Jan 3rd. 6th. 7th.8th. According to me. Don't know what to do next. Thanking you kindly for a reponse as what I should do next. Thanks, Beacher Prior

I got no response at all since I got the wrong size bridesmaid dress. I have no idea what i can do now. Just won't use this website any more. My friends ordered from Abbydress and it came in perfect condition, why the hell I got such crab?

Light In The Box merchandise not received

An order was shipped 31 Aug 2013 via bulk airmail. As of 16 Sep the merchandise has not been received. Considering that the method of shipping was airmail it should have arrived.
The web site avoids any method of contact other than the email that they originally sent confirming receipt of payment and date of shipping. The "chat" feature indicates that the contact has no access to shipping details. Trying to find a way to check on the merchandise through the site pages forces the consumer from page to page only to end at the starting page. A legitimate company would provide all means of contact to insure a satisfied customer. The complete lack of any means to reach a customer service representative gives the impression that a pickpocket has just stolen your money.
From the large number of complaints found on lists, avoid purchasing anything from lightinthebox.com.

Light In The Box incorrect delivery and no customer service

Ordered a ceiling lamp and received a small 2 inch glass bulb. On time delivery, but not even close to the product I ordered.
Entered a customer service ticket and waited... for weeks.. Added some more info and waited... some more weeks.
After more than 2 months I got a reply saying a system fault caused my ticket to be misplaced and therefor non visible, then a question if I still experience problem with my order... what? Obviously I got a standard answer and whoever answered didn't read the ticket. Now after clarifying that I still haven't receive what I ordered, I'm waiting again - another week so far.

I write this so that anyone considering order from Light In the Box is aware of the risks. At this point I've paid approx. 300$ and received a glass bulb worth maybe 30 cent and without any real attention from customer service. Therefor I would say:
Warning, Light In the Box = fraud!

Of course, the standard answer from LightInTheBox, pretending there actually is a real customer support. But without reading my post at all. As if I hadn't a ticket from the beginning...
I guess this makes the fraud even more deliberate, giving an impression of customer support without really doing anything.
My order, [protected], was placed March 10 and with a 'Incorrect Packet Received' ticket attached since March 28.

Light In The Box defective, poor quality

I did a trial run of this site by ordering fashion jewellery and hair accessories. I am very disappointed and will never order from this site again. I received my order in 4 weeks. If you have a wedding or special event, this might cause you problems.

"Please be kindly advised that Airmail basically takes 10 - 20 working days which is equal to 14-28 ordinary days to arrive. So your order was not delayed. We appreciate your kindly understanding in advance"

The fashion jewellery itself was very poor in quality. It does not match the pictures provided on the site. The colours are totally off. One of the items, I ordered was a peacock feather necklace. The feather part was broken, the paint was missing, and it was dented. Poor, poor workmanship. The other necklace had beads missing from it. I would never buy these pieces if I saw them in real life. If you live in Canada, there a lot of other shops and sites that provide better quality items for cheap...stick with them.

I am worried about my credit card information after reading the other reviews :-(

Light In The Box unfinished product/ no refund

I ordered a wedding gown and the dress that arrived was either incorrect or very unfinished. It looked like the rough base of the dress pattern but without any of the ruching or tiers or finished hems. I opened a ticket with them them, received their complicated return instructions and sent the dress back following EVERY step. They instructed me to return the dress in the most "economical way" and I did...26 business days later, I am still back and forth with them and haven't received my refund. They claim they haven't received the dress and requested the "international tracking number" - there isn't one. The most economical way was China-small package delivery for $26.99 (which at the time they had not confirmed whether or not I would be reimbursed). If I wanted to add insurance and a tracking number (which only tracks as far as Canada Post is in possession of the package - not international) the shipping would have been along the lines of $75.

I am FRUSTRATED and out almost $350 with the dress, taxes, tariff and shipping both ways. I have a wedding soon - I need either a dress or my money!

Light In The Box online scam

Received a IP camera from lightinthebox, It had a strange red dot on it((warning bells))- after wasting money installing it, I realize The Nightvision doesnt work, and I send Light in box a email.They seemed to expect that Id keep the faulty product and seemed surprised that I would want to return their junk.Now I can see why, given all the complaints about missing monies, They will only respond once a day to email to ride out the clock on the return policy.A very dishonorable company that should NEVER be used.Very Disappointing to have lost $ 200 on this online scam.Happy to participate in any multiple civil action against this company If theres any International commerce lawyers in China wanting work Pro Bono.?Below is a photo of my nightvision, they claim to have no more IP cams Yet there still advertised .This company needs W.W .Internet exposure via youtube to ensure the appropriate legal attention is given to them.Do not send them any info or money-its a full SCAM

Light In The Box poor quality, poor costomer support

Don't buy from them. Very poor quality.
I bought a head piece from them for my wedding. It looks pretty when I received it. But it turned into black when I checked it again 5 days before the wedding. I kept it nicely in a box.
I bought a garment bag, one side of it is see through, and very thin, can't protect your cloth at all.
I bought a head piece, supposed to be a headband, but it's not a band, I can't wear it. I asked questions to their customer support, they argued with me to death.
I ordered a custom made bridesmaid dress, it's poorly made, one ribbon has different width on both ends. Except about the fabric, nothing good about it.

I felt stupid ordering so many from them the first time. But I was busy preparing my wedding, just try to get things done. I will never order from them anymore, and I would like everybody to know about their poor quality. It does not worth it to sacrifice quality for cost.

On march 7th, 2013 I placed an order totaling $248.86, they took the money out of my account asap.. and then very soon sent a "ticket" saying this.. and I didn't know it was sent on the same day order was placed!

I have sense sent emails not tickets! because that option if contact was closed! there is no phone number to contact them available! so out of being desperate I went to open chat yesterday march 25th, and the live chat guy was very nice and said he would send my information to the right department and I would hear back in 24 hrs.. still waiting for response and still waiting for my refund!

Light In The Box no support, defective product, no refund

Never buy from lightinthebox.com! Buyer beware! There is no support at all, if product is defective, such as my case with an android cubot mobile phone you will not have any answer from them, you write several times to "customer support" and no answers and no refunds even for a defective product
This company is a big scam, they say you to contact their customer support but they never answer!

are you kidding on us James from Light in the box? Wrote several times to your "Customer Support" and no answer at all! What kind of service does your company offer? Buyer beware! NO warranty, NO support, defective products and of course NO refund! You will loose your money if anything goes wrong with Light In the Box!

Light In The Box incorrect goods

after finding light in the box online and finding their prices quite cheap i decided to
order myselve 3pairs of ladies boot in a size 39, i checked light in the boxes
measurements f or these and after double checking ordered a size 39.
after waiting 3 weeks for my order to arrive, when it finally did arrive from dhl i found myselve with a import vat bill for £21.84, which i had to pay to the dhl courier before they would give me my boots.when i opened my order from light in the box i relised that the 3pairs of boots were all a size 36 and nowehere near the size 39 that i had ordered.
after sending light in the box numerous emails and pictures regarding my incorrect boots
they offered me a REFUND OF JUST £36.00 ...EVEN THO I HAD SPENT
OVER £140 ON THEIR INCORRECT GOODS.SO IF YOU WANT TO LOSE YOUR MONEY...GET INCORRECT GOODS...AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICES...SHOP AT LIGHT IN THE BOX AND LET THEM SCAM YOU...AVOID LIGHT IN THE BOX AT ALL COST

I got three items, completely wrong size. It has the label L (large). One jacket, two shirts. They are not Large at all. They are the size of a 7 year old at most. And it is impossible to get in touch with the company. On top of this after paying for the clothes, i recieved a new bill a month later for shipping.

Light In The Box cam

I ordered several electronics and gadgets over two years ago from this Company for my boy and they NEVER sent it! I had asked them to put the money back into my account they never did- I said, either way, send me my order or refund my money. During this time I had been busy with my investments that it required me to travel every three months so I never checked if it was put in and they never did, they just 'forgotten'. This time I have a bit more free time and I asked them to put the money back and they are offering me a coupon. I dont want a coupon, I want my money back and that's a problem.
This company is a scam- if you are an American be careful! I will make time to write the Better Business Beureau abut this and file a complaint once and for all. If you are an American and knows a way to stop this company from scamming into our country please let me know, because that is what I am going to try to do, stop this company from doing what they do. One thing I did that's right was to keep all their emails to prove their scam. Be careful buying online people!

I agree with you- I'm from San Francisco and I travel back and forth to Europe for my investments and I too was scammed by this company . I asked repeatedly to send me my order and to at least give me my money back and they never did, two years later I am offered a freakin COUPON! without any compensation- I tried ordering again and hoping this time they will make it easier and just send me my new order but it was another waste of my time.
I am researching a way to stop this people from scamming into my country and shut down their business once and for all.

THEFTS! Light in the box should be shut down - I am a artist I paint abstracts, these people have STOLEN hundreds of my images of my paintings off my website and placed those images on theirs up on display and are selling FAKE paintings that look like mine. Do not buy these so called oil paintings most of the pictures of art you see on their site are stolen images from other artist this is a CRIME / copyright all the way across the board! I wouldn't be surprised if they are using toxic poisonous paint to make them. I believe they take a stolen image blow it up as a print as big as they can and slap some paint on the areas of the print trying to make it alike as the original i am sure it looks like crap !

Aside from how long it takes to receive my order which I was not pleased with (dresses) the quality and fitting, I received a bill from DHL for customs duty. It was a mistake that I made not realizing that this is an out of the US website. It is extremely difficult to get hold of this business. What a waste of time and money spent on this website. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS WEBSITE.

I have just began to get into selling online but haven't bought any items as of yet. After inquiring about quotes, my mailbox has been flooded with mail from every Chinese wholesaler company there is. Thing is, I only contacted one. Now if that don't send up a red flag. So I google reviews of them all. Seems like all of the Chinese wholesale are scammers from the reviews I've read about them. I doubt if I'll proceed with my online venture, at least not with any Chinese wholesaler or any wholesaler outside of the U.S. My suggestion to all U.S. citizens is to boycott everyone of the foreign wholesalers. Yep., cut them all off completely. The way I see it is they can make a lot of money dealing with U.S. customers fairly and honestly. That apparently isn't an option for them. Cutting them off completely would definitely put them in the position of making "NO" profit from the U.S. Perhaps then they will all realize they are screwing up a good thing.

I dont know for sure if it is a scam just yet. I placed my order a little over a week ago and everytime I check my order, it says "processing". I must admit, the customer service is terrible. All I ask is, "When will my order shipped?" Now that I am seeing these reviews, I think I may contact PayPal ASAP and just get my money back. I will definitely be contacting my credit card and just avoid doing business with them ever again!

ive purchased an item for Christmas present it sad guaranteed processing time less than 24 hours. its a tattoo kit for a Christmas present I paid for it on the 6th of dec and they are saying it won't be shipped till dec 24... I don't know how a clock works were there from but 24 hours is only one day... the it says 3 to 5 days shipping I guess that means 3 to 5 months... they refuse to give me a number to call them back at I guess that is normal poor business .. I now read nothing but complaints about them.. id like to thank light in the box for probably ruining a sons Christmas that he has waited all your for this tattoo equipment... I will NEVER buy or recommend anyone to you EVER..

Want to throw your money away real fast and get frustrated at the same time? Order something from Lightinthebox (dot com)! They are a Chinese company that lures internet shoppers with fantastic deals. I had to gamble with them because I couldn't find a video door phone anywhere at a decent price. My first hesitation was having to use my PayPal account. Stupid me. But for $140 (compared to $500 elsewhere), I bit the bullet. They put emphasis on pre-sales promises, so you feel good until you commit your money.

Product that arrived didn't even have a U.S. compatible plug. It took weeks of delayed email back and forth to clear that one little mistake they made. It took more weeks for them to ship an adapter. It took still more weeks of slow, delayed, annoyingly bottom priority email that they hardly read or understand to get a tracking number for the adapter. Sorry but they got your money already. You get the slowest parcel post mail without tracking. In the meantime, they repeatedly send you the refund form to fill out because that's they first reaction. Or maybe they're so used to it. But you won't get your $40 shipping cost refunded. And you have to pay your own $40 shipping to send the item back. And they won't refund until they get back their crappy item.

Lo and behold, the rinky *** power adapter arrives. It's the cheapest plastic thingy ever. And still, the device does not work. It compares to a pop-up toy that comes out of a gumball machine. So yes I have to consider shipping it back at my cost because there's no warranty.

I'm a loser. I gambled, and I lost.

Horrible experience!

I purchased my item on December 4th to use them as a dropshipper (as they advertise). It is now December 19th and the item STILL has not been shipped and MY customer is irate, when I inquired they insisted on me providing them with a scanned copy of my credit card despite the fact that I paid via Paypal! I explain this to them, and AGAIN they respond insisting on a scanned copy of my credit card or they will not ship my item. I will not be scammed of my credit card info! I have put in a Paypal claim and will not stop until I get my money back. I do not believe half of these reviews, and 100% believe these are employees writing them, just go look around the internet - and notice how they are patrolling all the review sites. Whenever someone writes a bad review new 'Fabulous' ones appear within hours to up their ratings. Proceed with caution!" Stop doing damage control by responding to our complaints on review sites! We've already put in our tickets and THAT was your chance to make it right! Not when we publicly out you!

Light In The Box no response from customer service

I ordered a wedding dress from light in the box, When I submitted my info I didn't notice that I put in the wrong email info. Afterwards when I realized what happened I tried to go back in to cancel the order but I could sign in to the website with the email info I gave them. So I signed in using my correct info and of course, the order was not in that account. So I had to re-order my dress because I was worried that it didn't go through the first time. Sure enough it did and they charged me for two dresses when I only need one. There is no way to get in touch with anyone there to cancel the one order in time to get a full refund on it. I wrote a review hoping someone would contact me but no one has. I also wrote to customer service. They really need to have someone available over the phone to look after these matters. I am not happy about this mix up and will be very upset if I cant return one of the dresses for a full refund... Oh and on top of all that, they charged two different prices for the exact same dress within a half hour between the orders... Not happy.

Light In The Box missing product no refund

They have lost my painting worth over £70 gbp ($100 usd), commited to refund me £40 and this just sounds superb!
Unfortunately they just promising, misleading me, they lost my painting and asking to close paypal case with out refunding my money. They excusing that nobody from accounts can refund to my paypal due to chinese new year but they are answering to my case on paypal!

I am very disappointer and frustrated for being mislead and delayed each of their responses is 24h due to excuses of timezone, they responding promising but not delivering what they promise!

Now I have wasted about half-an hour every day for 2-weeks talking to them online, no success.

If you do not want to be disappointed with this seller — => do not buy from them!

Light In The Box stay far away from this company

I made a purchase last week, I paid via PayPal, suddenly next day I received an email from: [protected]@system.lightinthebox.com telling me I had a message on my account on Lightinthebox.com, the message said they needed a picture of mi credit card and id card to ensure that I was the owner of my credit card, to this I replied that I did not understood why did they needed this information if I had paid thru PayPal?, even more now that I think about it how did you knew I used a credit card? It could have been a checking account ... to this they respond with a new message this time in French, I do not speak French so I had to translate it via Google and even though I’m sure the translation is not perfect what I got from it was that mi PayPal account could not be verified. So I talked to PayPal, they asked me NOT TO SHARE ANY INFORMATION ABOUT MY CREDITCAR AS IT COUD BE SOME KIND OF FRAUD. I tried reaching them thru their mail, their chat and their stupid 24 hour service tiocket sistem, non of theme worked, the lady at the chat didnt know what she was talking about and then she just let me there and went away, their mail they just didnt respond and of course the 24 hour sistem hasn´t return my message. On paypal i see the money went thru, so why dont they just send my items? why do they need a picture of my credit card? does anyone else finds this a little suspicious?

Light In The Box shoes were broken after one time

I bought 3 pairs of shoes (I looked to the size grid, but only one of the 3 pair of shoes where correct, when I try them on), I also ordered a few dresses and a blouse, I was thinking that I was a clown, bad quality blouse and I paid $ 25, so it was expensive. I also ordered two dresses one M (Looked in Grid a bit to big, but I know the clothingsizes of china, order always a size bigger, so normally I wear a 34/xs), the Medium was way so small, couldn't get one leg in it :(. My first and last order was very expensive, I had 86 euro import duties (I thought it was a joke, but they didn't miss, I called to the import duty service). The import plus my clothes costed me 146 euro, and I had nothing, the shoes were broken after one time (I wore them to go to the cinema). I would say for the price I paid that you better should order from sites like modcloth.com or amazon.com, at least you can send the clothes back whitout any problem.

The costumer service was also very bad, I told them that the shoes where to big, they gave me the adress, I went to the postoffice and they told me the shippingcost would be 50 euro, I mean that was too mutch, so I send the an email to tell them that the cost for sending my shoes (and dress) back would be to expensive. So they said that they where sorry, that's it.

I was also disapointed because of the fact that they say that all the clothes are really cheap, but the shoes are very expensive, (most of them are made of plastic, so €50, 00 is too much, for that price I can buy real leather ones ;) )

Light In The Box I will never buy from them again

Purchased about 50 g4 leds in October 2012. In less than 4 months about half have leds that no longer light. 7 day return policy. POOR QUALITY PRODUCTS! I will never buy from them again.

MinIn The Box is a Chinese online company that scams unsaspecting custmers internationally. If you want to keep your money then stay away from (Minin Te Box) or (Light In The Box) . They both are same companies.They don't realy solve a roblem but only write automated answers for show off only. They are Scammers.

I ordered some watches (3) from them that never arived. And the Corespondence to them is all automated that is never ends and is fruitles. If yo don't want to be scamed by them, Then give them a miss and keep your money safe.

Light In The Box I cancelled order. company will not give full refund.

On Jan. 9, 2013, I placed an order. After a week, I had heard nothing from the company. When it became clear to me that the item would not arrive in time for the event for which I needed it, I cancelled the order online. The order had not been shipped at the time I cancelled it.

Nonetheless, Light in the Box shipped the order later, on Jan. 17, and now refuses to refund my money, which came to over $220.00 US.

The order will not be accepted if/when it reaches this address. $20 is not what I was charged. I was charged over $220. I want a full refund.
