My husband and I filed our taxes on 1-29-08 and filed for an ral with it through them. It is now 2-4-08 and we have not seen anything due to as they tell us our return and six others are stuck in there system and have not been processed to irs nor by the bank. I have spoke to numerous people at the office we had them done at and there main office here and now headquarters. All tell me they do not know why these returns are all getting stuck in the system. Nor do they know when they might be processed. This is false advertisement and wrong to all of us. No one called to tell us these things we have all had to call ourselves since no one called us in our forty eight hour time slot. On top of all this we cannot go anywhere else nor do them ourselves at this point due to then the irs will get returns from numerous sources at different times.

Call your state Labor Relations board. Then call/email (from your local library for free) the National Organization for Women. My daughter is an attorney for 15 years and she was appalled by what I told her.

Furthermore, TO ALL, DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH lIBERTY(they don't deserve a capital L) Tax Service. They are somewhat less than "reputable" and overcharge everyone.

I get the Ral's and have no problems. I am aware of fees and cost. H & R Block does do a credit check. I got the Christmas loan and got approved and the interest rate is very high on this loan nad next year I will not apply for a Christmas Loan. The best thing to do is recheck your return done by somebody else. H & R Block forgot a W-2 and I caught that before it was too late. Check the work and you will be fine, catch the errors.

This year is the 2nd year in a row that I have used LTS. Last year, they processed everything and I received my RAL with no problems. This year I went back to the same office and nearly everyone was completely different. I filed two days ago and was patient in waiting to hear the status of the RAL. I called this morning for a progress report to find out that my RAL was rejected. Confused, I sarted doing research as to why that happened. I then called the office back to get the refund amount as stated on my tax reutrn so I could look into it myself. That's when I find out that the IRS had actually rejected the return, NOT the bank. That's never happened so I had no idea where to go from there. AND the preparer could not explain what happened whatsoever as she wasn't familiar with that happening. I called another office and did more research to find out that there are ERROR CODES that come back with the notification so that the return can be corrected and re-submitted. Plus Liberty HAS TO NOTIFY YOU OF THIS WITHIN 24 HRS. Neither of this has happened and I am still awaiting a return call. Now I have to leave work early and take my information from that office and have them prepared elsewhere. Luckily, the staff at another office are educated and well-prepared to help me, even giving me the corporate # to voice my complaints. Anyone living from check-to-check can probably understand my frustration.

Had my taxes prepared for the first time through liberty and applied for the RAL as well. I was approved received a call to pick up check next day. Went in at time told and was told employee at liberty printed ckecks on wrong paper and they would go back through IRS to get new checks. three days later still no check and so i called bank that issued check whom liberty already recieved our money and they stated it only should have taken two hours to reissue checks and not have had to contat IRS again. Looks like double dipping to me. Will never use liberty again and file complaints to irs and liberty corporate office. Bank is looking into why they did this.

I totally agree with everyone I got so messed up with H&R block for the years 2005 and 2006 because there people forgot to put two of my W2's in so then I got audited went back to them they had the W2's in my folder checked off like they put them in so I said you should be responsible for this I gave you the W2 you have it your the one that didnt put it in but ofcourse they werent taking the responsibility so I had to pay on top of that to get them amended then I ended up owing the IRS 1, 700 plus all the penalities and interest that added up cause of the time that had went by with me trying to speak to managers and fight them over it so then the Irs took my refund money for the year 2008 to pay what I owed off because of H&RBlocks mistake I even bought that secure thing they have to get your back if you get audited and they barely even helped at all.

The banks do pull a credit report to 1) make sure you're a real person with verifiable information, and 2) that you don't have any student loan defaults (or other debts) that could hit the IRS between the time you file your return and the time the IRS issues your refund. They don't care about your credit score at all, but they do verify information against your credit report.

The banks issuing these loans do NOT check your credit, contrary to what was said above. All they want to be sure of is that your refund is actually going to come through to cover the loan. So they check with the IRS to see if you owe back taxes or if your refund is going to be taken to pay child support or other court-ordered fees. If your refund isn't going to come to them, then they're not going to give you a loan on the money. And a computer system holding up tax return processing is not false advertising, seriously.

Yes, do your own taxes and you don't have to pay anybody anything. It's like changing your own oil, do it yourself and save your money. Anytime you have somebody else do something you could do for yourself you will pay through the nose. And getting a loan for $140 extra rather than waiting 10 days for a refund is just... dumb. You did without the money all year long and then you just can't wait. That's throwing money away, folks. So when they make all that extra by giving the loan, how come the banks deny the loans? That's the part that doesn't make sense.

Melin PA. How stupid can you people be? You get a bank product when you do not pay the H&R Block fees at the time of the tax preperation to eliminate getting a bank product. I know because I worked for H&R Block myself. I do agree with the people that have learned these things the hard way, that the information should be told to each and every Client that walks through the door of H&R Block, that their is a credit check performed on each person who applies for any Banking product loan against their refund when they do not pay the fees out of pocket.

I got my taxes done through H&R Block 2/2/09 and have been for many years. they told me i would get my check in 1 to 2 days, which is the option i chose. they called me the next day and told me it was denied and that i will get it in the standard 8 to 15 days. after doing some extensive research via the Web...i found this is happening to many people with the RAL. I will be doing my taxes on my own from now on and save myself some money. i agree with the person above...next time do it yourself...these tax places don't tell us everything. I didn't know i had to go through a credit check to get my own darn refund! i have always had bad credit and this was never an issue of me getting my money in 2 days before! i better get my money in 15 days! at least they said they would drop the extra fees i paid to have it in 2 days! i feel i was lied to when i was told i would get it in 2 days. They should inform people they could be denied...due to credit check and other circumstances!

The IRS will not process many tax returns until Feb 11, 2008 with some new tax code or something. Also a RAL is a 10 day waiting loan. It is not instant. I learned the difference real fast with HR Block. You could cancel the whole thing and file it for free at taxact.com and wait the same amount of time as you would with an RAL and pay NO FEES! That sounds much smarter doesn't it?
