A customer of Liberty Mutual totaled my car 17 months ago, on June 17, 2008. The police, two witnesses, the woman who hit us AND Liberty Mutual admitted full liability. They paid Kelly Blue Book on the car their customer totaled. But they refuse to compensate me for lost wages, injuries or medical bills. I finally had to hire a lawyer, and they have dragged their feet every step of the way. The lawyer walked into mediation, admitted full liability for the accident on the part of his client. After five hours of mediation, we had an offer on the table which would have pulled my business out of debt, paid our medical expenses (which we had to pay out of pocket) and pay our lawyer. We accepted the offer, and then Liberty Mutual's lawyer started subtracting from the offer. We walked out. It was obvious that Liberty Mutual Auto Insurance would rather let their customer go to trial than to settle a claim fairly out of court. So now we are suing the customer. So if you have Liberty Mutual insurance and you get into a wreck, be prepared to get sued if it was your fault. Liberty Mutual is a greedy bureaucratic wasteful company whose bottom line is corporate payouts to stockholders. They have different adjusters for every dollar amount of settlement, layer upon layer of employees. The bottom line is Liberty Mutual is dishonest and will not pay out on your claim, no matter how much you have paid in premiums or how good a customer you have been. Drop Liberty Mutual and find a company that is honest.
