We bought our DVD Player/Recorder RH387-M in October last year(2008). At first everything was working fine, but after 2 months we started to get some problems; the DVD player would not read anymore discs. We called the company about this, and they sent us an email about not being able to qualify for their services despite saying on the phone that this is a very common problem with this specific model.
So for two months we were able to record onto dvd's, but little did we know that these dvds would not be readable for any other type of dvd player, we tried at least 4 different brands.
Now, not even 1 year after buying the product, all the functions are off and the DVD, for almost $300, is garbage.
Never buy any products from LG - Life is Good only for LG and not for their customers.

LG-LDA player does not play homemade DVD/CDs of any make or type. including single and DL dvds. I am sure it is the LG-LDA530 player as I have 2 other players in my house that play all the DVD/CDs in my collection. My complaints to LG have been kissed off, as too bad so sad, it was not designed to play homeburnt DVDs, which invalidates my entire collection of family videos. This is nothing short of theft, as all other players on the market seem to play all these "burnt" DVD/CDs with out a problem.

Immediately after warranty expired the display reported code Err IF. It has taken months to get an LG approved technical specialist to look at the fridge. Now that they have their solution is to start ordering parts and replacing until they eventually find the burned out components. Finally they call LG and determine they have to replace parts in the proper order - so we are starting again. Fridge ice machine is far too fragile. Approved technicians are not familiar with product. Definitely buy something else.

I PURCHASED AN LG REFRIGERATOR MODEL LMX25981ST, COST $3, 000. WITHIN A MONTH OR SO I WAS HAVING PROBLEMS, CUSTOMER SERV. EXTREMELY POOR. THEY TELL YOU NOT THEIR PROBLEM BEFORE YOU EVEN FINISH DESCRIBING THE ISSUE. I HAD ICEMAKER PROB. FIRST. AFTER REPAIRPERSON FIXED, HE LEFT ME A NEW ICEMAKER STILL IN THE BOX AND SAID "KEEP THIS YOU WILL NEED IT ". I WISH I WOULD HAVE RETURNED THE FRIDGE RIGHT THEN. IT IS A VERY NICE LOOKING APPLIANCE, BUT DO NOT LET THAT DECIEVE YOU, IT IS OF SUCH POOOOOOOR QUALITY AMERICANS SHOULD NEVER HAVE ACCEPTED IT IN THE FIRST PLACE. MY NEXT ISSUE, THAT STARTED W/IN A LITTLE OVER A MONTH AFTER PURCHASE, WAS A DARK SPOT THAT STARTED GROWING ACROSS THE INSIDE PIECE OF MY LOWER SHELF. THE CO. OF COURSE TOLD ME OVER THE PHONE IT WAS NOT THEIR PROBLEM. I TOOK THE ENTIRE BOTTOM PIECE OUT (THE ONLY WAY TO REMOVE)TO TRY AND CLEAN AS AN ODOR BEGAN AFFECTING EVERYTHING IN THE FRIDGE(MY FRIDGE WAS IMMACULATE). I HAD TO PRY PLASTIC PIECES APART TO GET ACCESS . THIS AREA WAS NOT MEANT TO BE ACCESSIBLE. I FOUND DARK BLACK MOLD GROWING. CALLED CO. -TOLD NOT THEIR FAULT OF COURSE. USED CLOROX & DRIED IN HOT SUN --DID THIS OVER & OVER FOR THE ENTIRE DAY. PUT IT BACK TOGETHER AND RETURNED TO FRIDGE. WITHIN 4-6WEEKS IT WAS BACK - NOTHING INSIDE FRIDGE WAS OLD OR SMELLY, MY REFRIGERATOR WAS SPOTLESS. NOW I CAN NO LONGER USE WATER/ICE DISPENSER DUE TO THE HORRIBLE TASTE. THE SMELL RUINS ANY FOOD THAT IS INSIDE FOR MORE THAN OVERNIGHT. THIS REFRIGERATOR IS COMPLETELY USELESS TO ME AND INTERESTINGLY LG HAS "NOTHING IN THEIR FILES IN REGARDS TO THE PROBLEM" . THIS COMPANY SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED AND HELD LIABLE FOR THE HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS THAT HAVE BEEN FILED AGAINST THEM BEGINNING LONG AGO. WE ARE SUPPOSE TO HAVE TAXPAYER MONEY GOING TO PROTECT THE TAX PAYING CONSUMER. I have booked a microwave at Kara Baazar, Motijheel, Kanpur from LG Electronics (Stall) on dt. 26/12/2010.After 3-4 days i received a phone call from Friends Radio, Birhana Road, Kanpur that the model no. 7649 lw which i booked was not available and they told us that we will receive the above product within 2-3 days.But till now i haven't receeived it.
So kindly please go through my complain and take a quick action.

I bought one about five years ago and worked great. I remodeled my kitchen by installing hard wood floors and within one year the freezer will have ice in back of the draw which if I do not remove it in time it turns to water and ruined my hardwood floors, I called my insurance company a contractor inspected it and he then sent in a engineer which wrote up a five page story how my floors were installed wron. BS, I have been a contractor for many years, and yes I have seen hardwood floors have a problem and it was easily fixed. Mine can not be fixed and I need a whole new floor.

LG refrigerator stopped working 8/19/11. Sears and LG. notified, sear came to ascess problem 8/20/11 .LG states we have Service Hub in your states that could do the work tomorrow, but sear has to fit it because we have a contract with them. Schedule repair date 8/31/11. Sear called at 2:30 pm to “Cancel”. Stating our service tech. had to go home sick, RESCHEDULE ME FOR 9/12/11. First date advailable for two- men service repair.That mean no refrigertor from 8/19/11 – 9/12/11 That is TOO LONG..

Customer service that is a laugh spoke with SIX different people with very litte english, very short with me.Leaving me on the line for 40 + min. waiting for a supervisor. No different in her attitude, just as bad.Mind you it is 95 degree here

I 'm having some problem in my fridge. A pungent smell is coming inside it and it is also making some some sounds, when it is plugged in. I've lodged a complaint on 19th september in the morning at 7:45 am to the customer care service.The person said that the engineer would attend it within 24 hours. The local person contacted me at 10 am and repeated the same. but as usual nobody comes, When i contacted the local dealer nobody was picking up the phone.For 5 times I tailked to the customer care person and at last in the evening at 7.00 the local one said that due to ID none of the engineers are available, only one is here but he has gone to Shakti nagar. Again I contacted the customer care and the person give the number of the Head of customer care Uttar Pradesh but the person already left the office and the mobile is switched off . My fridge is under Warranty period and I'm facing such troubles to get it repaired. I've not the idea that the after sales service of LG company is so bad.

MOdel LFD21860 bottom drawer freezer two door refrigerator. Glide 'N Serve drawer top plastic cover sags, prevents flipper top from closing properly. Two Crisper Drawers are mounted on a design flawed plastic panel which breaks too easily. We have replaced these parts two times. They won't replace them free of charge at at. Although we've had our fridge for 5 years, when you purchase parts that break in the same places on two occasions there is a problem with the design. It turns out LG has had to redesign some of these parts on their products. IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN DESIGNED PROPERLY FROM THE BEGINNING. They do not stand behind their products as they should. I called four times and got terminal HOLD. In conclusion, they will not do anything to help me. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER LG PRODUCT, PERIOD. I would also suggest you look elsewhere for a better made product and company! We purchased parts TWO TIMES AND THESE SAME PARTS KEEP BREAKING!

I bought a refrigerator LG brand on 6th of oct.2012, from Standard electric company Trichy.After about 15 days it stopped working.No cooling.Called up the stores from where we got the fridge.They gave contact number to LG toll free number1800 180 9999.they gave this number RNA121027083722.They said authorised LG service centre people will attend.Afterwards problem started--now human problem.clubbed with irritation that brand new fridge suddenly stopped working, calling these service guys every now and then to ensure they arrive home when there is no power cut to help me out of this problem was a menace.The people working in service finally came home on the 4th day evening 3.30pm told that oil has clogged up somewhere in the tube.someone else will come some day later with equipment, it might take a minimum of 2 hours work.Puzzled i called up centre when the immediate boss tells me that another guy will be there to attend in 2 or 3 days.i felt it was hell.called LG office in Delhi after 10 minutes she says gas has to refilled! in a brand new fridge?the service person meanwhile treats me as if i am uneducated ### and even asks me to speak decently!he was ### sure it was nobody;s fault and the shop wont replace it also though only 15 days passed and it is in warranty period.God save us consumers from the anarchy of service people.isn't it an irony they call themselves service engineers.

I have dealt with LG now two times. Neither one was a good experience. The first time I called them about my stainless still dishwasher rusting on the outside along with my microwave. It was within the first year of purchase and they said they do not guarantee the quality of stainless still they use and cannot help me.
Now today I just called because I tried to clean my 30in wall oven and a code F-9 came up with their 1-800 number to call them about the error. The customer representative could not tell me what the code was or where I could find my cereal number for the oven at. Then when I asked for a manager she put me on hold for 12 min. From their she came back to tell me he still isn’t available and by that time I found the number and she proceeded to tell me well I told you inside the oven. She was very rude and not understanding. She did not have the intent to care for the customer. I asked her if it was on worrenty and she said she dose not know because I do not have my original purchase receipt and the oven was made in 2008 and that is why I am giving you the repare shop to call and see what your problem is. I am doing this to help you (very rudly). The customer representative was very unprofessional and rude and will never purchase an LG again.
I needed to get my refrigerator yet and will not go with LG between their quality and customer service they do not deserve to be in business.

I am Athiaman, an unfortunate customer who have bought two split A/C from LG.,

I have called your support toll free no. on 16th April to request for shifting of my A/C's to another location as I m shifting my residence from Purasaiwalkam to Ashok Nagar. My ticket no. is C1041638636.,

I was told by the team that the service engineers will call me on the same day and would do the dismantling on the same day so that I could shift with my movers and Packers the next day, and they will come back to the new residence to install the same.,

there had been no calls from anyone from LG service neither any engineer visited the place...its been the 6th day today and yet i find no improvement in the situation, I need to call the toll free no., give my ticket no., explain the case, and still no response...

Just because i have chosen to buy LG A/C's I have been paying rent for last 5 days because of the fact that your guys did not turn up for what has been committed to the customer, neither had the courtesy to inform that it is not happening..all the things except A/Cs have been moved by the packers and movers...now i need to pay through my nose for your service team to shift the same..

I really wonder whether do you understand the meaning of the word customer and service or is it a joke?

Your support team thinks that they are doing a charity by answering our calls for service...Everybody thinks that the customer is a fool to choose LG products...

I have always admired LG as a company and its products...but now I think its a company filled with people who have no regards for customer service..its a shame to the company..

I dont think I would buy an LG product ever in my life time...

thanks for making the customers understand their mistakes of choosing LG products.,

Disappointed in the manner in the way they tell you they have put a product on hold, get your credit card details, and they just go ahead and process an order without me even signing anything. Harvey Norman Burleigh - This is Fraud, Not happy at all, I want everyone to know that this has happen to me just yesterday, and was told lies by Initial Salesperson - Singh that he was only taking my credit card details to hold the order and all I had to do was quote the invoice no when coming in the authorise sign and it will be processed, well Singh you didn't just put on hold Mate you processed it and I didn't authorise this to happen. I phoned to talk to you this morning to tell you to take of hold and was told by Salesman Dirk that's it was no problem and that product on hold would be cancelled. I then phoned again during the day to check with the Accounts staff if I needed to do anything else, and was told no because nothing had been processed, so my credit card had been used for any payment etc. However went to use my card this evening and was declined as the was Insufficient Funds available, on phone credit card company they advised that there had been an unauthorised payment made from Harvey Norman Burleigh Heads and that they couldn't do anything about this until you contacted which I was a by now pissed off, as three staff members had lied to me and commitment fraud. NOT happy you need to rectify this tomorrow Friday 16th August, by 9.30am. Thank you

I purchased an LG LP0910WNR portable air conditioner. This type of air conditioner does not mount in the wall but instead rolls on the floor and the hot air is expelled to the outside through a 5 to 6 inch diameter flexible hose. The problem is that while cool air is being blown out the upper front of the unit, the upper back and the hose are radiating heat. These two effects are fighting each other making the air conditioner very ineffective. Because of the radiant heating problem the room gets hotter and hotter until it is 95 degrees. Then the compressor turns off for about 3 minutes heating the room. Then it turns on for about 4 minutes cooling the room. Then off for 3 and back on for 4, and it just keeps on going. Another problem is that since hot air has to go out the flexible hose to transfer heat to the outside, additional air has to be sucked out of the room into the air conditioner and out the hose. This means that unless you have an airtight room, air has to be sucked into the room form the outside. The effect of all this is that the air conditioner is cooling part of the room and at the same time heating and humidifying (if the outside is humid) the rest of the room. This air conditioner is simply improperly designed.

The LG service for the customer is very pathetic it is mental torture if your music system has any problem or not working properly.The reasons for the above condition are as follows. I always have purchased LG product but after the below incident I have taken oath not to but LG products in future & if any of my friends inquire about LG, I am definitely going to tell the below problem. * On 13th of December 2011 I lodged a complaint the said call was attended on 15th of December by service engg Sarvash.

The call should be attended within 2 hrs or 24 hrs which was not done as per the LG policy, secondly the said service engg was going to my house to check the music system was very busy on other call .I followed up & he said that at 16.30 hrs he will be at house, he never turned up & the call was closed without my knowledge, saying that the customer has agreed to bring the music system to the service center & i was not aware of it .I came to know about it on 19th of December 2011 when I asked why the delay in attending the call .Again a new complaint was lodged the complaint no (RNA [protected]).

2. the engg Sartvash was to visit on the same day he did not come. The next day he said that the system to be send to the Lg service store.

3. On 21st -11-2011 I had taken music system to LG store, till date I have not received any call .Again after my call they are saying they will look into the matter casually.

4. I have given them a list of what is to be checked of my system

5. I was also given contact number of Head LG Survan Sawant but she never picks up t he phone

Such mental torture to the customer .The service & staff are not sincere in work, due to which I have not desire to buy LG product.

Your statement LG ” life good” does not seem to be good.

I know that they will be no response for this mail but it for my satisfaction I have addressed my problem, now it up to LG to decide.

I was presented with a microwave oven. It looked nice but when I tried to make it work -after carefully reading the instructions- it did not worked. I assumed that it would be a minor problem and that the Customer support service will try to make it work. They did not. They did not even try, as soon as they asked the model they told me go to the service center -35 miles away- and leave it for a repair. Reposition is out of the question. When I asked why don't they pick it up, the response was both rude and clarifying: everybody takes it to the service center. Do you mean that this is normal, yes, it happens all the time. Then, why do you keep selling it? I am only the call center, call the design area.

I purchased a LG microwave Model number LMA1180ST from Best Buy on April 13th 2011. It is now December of 2011 and the microwave started making a noise like a ship horn then I could smell wires burning. When I contacted customer service they were less than helpful. I was told to mail my receipt to them they would then take 2-3 weeks to process my claim and at that point I could purchase a new LG microwave and send them the receipt and ISBN code from the box to which they would then send me a refund for my purchase price of $89.99. This could take up to 3 months but when you tell them this could take 3 months the girl on the other end of the line politely stated "I did not say that you did." I dont want to purchase another LG product and recommend that no other consumer purchase a LG product as their customer service is lacking and their products are a fire hazard.

I bought an LG 3 Door Refrigerator at HH Gregg in March of 2010. In October 2011 the ice maker stopped working. Since I had paid for the extended warranty, I called A&E Warranty. They tell me the ice maker isn't covered but they would be happy to come out and give me an estimate for $75.00. The technician came out and gave us an estimate for a minumum of $400.00. We are looking into other options for the ice maker. I am feeling completely ripped off by LG and the A&E Warranty company. I have now read many negative reviews on the LG ice maker and I would warn people not to buy an LG refrigerator.

Our LG fridge stopped working so we contacted a few local appliance repair places and decided due to the cost structure that LG offered for repairs and the fact that many of our local places would not fix LGs, we would use LG technicians to repair the fridge. Our original call went in Feb. 14th, the technician came Feb. 16th, and determined it was the compressor. He needed a second technician to assist with the repair so said he would get back to us. He called on the 15th to say they would come Monday Feb. 21 to fix the fridge. We are now 8 days without refridgeration. On the 21, he called to say there was no part so they had to reschedule for the next day. The next day...no call, no show...still no fridge. I called the customer service line, waited on hold for awhile, then was told we were scheduled in for Friday the 25th. I expressed my anger, requested to speak to the supervisor...who told me that nothing could be done. My 2 technicians that were required were busy on other jobs and we would have to wait. their slogan of we are constantly trying to make your life good (LG) is apparently only aimed at their employees...not their customers. NEVER BUY LG AGAIN.

i think its pretty crappy that i spent 1k on a lg plasma tv and 1 month after the warrenty went out i started having problems with it.why is it that my parents have a 1970 model zenith consol tv that still works but with all the advances in technology tvs today last 1 to 3 years.OH i know why the corpporate compaines that run everything are to greedy and the billoins they been making of people must not be enough if they build ### products then they will sell more of there crap .

I purchased a LG handet in the month of Aug 2008. I lost the same in the mnth of October 2008. The handser was covered under insurance from LG. They did not have the insurance claim form so i did not know what exactly the type of complaint needs to be filled with the police. They did arrange for the form to be sent to me & I filled the same & sent to the insurance company within time limits. I haven't got any response form the insurance company or from LG.

I bought an LG A.C. few months back. Due to bad quality of material used in pipes its joint got loose and cooling gas leaked. LG customer care who assure a 24 hr. service are the worst service center I have come across. Its been 4 days since I lodged a complaint and everytime I hear most lame excuses."We will do it soon, we dont have a service van". or "We are sorry, we dont have AC gas available". I am amazed that how a service oriented company can afford to turn down complaints from their customers. In delhi summer I dont have relief even after spending 24, 000/- on LG goods. Finally I paid 2000/- rs to an electrician to fix my AC. No one from LG still approached me to fix my AC!

regarding freezer that was looked at by engineer, he left and wen i turned fridge freezer back on the lights didnt work and the fridge had now become a freezer and ther answer was we cant do anything about it, , it looks like its general wear n tear.
I DONT THINK SO, , MY FRIDGE WAS WORKING VERY WELL AS A FRIDGE AND THE LIGHTS ON THE FRONT WE COULD SEE... I HAVE WROTE 2 COMPLAINTS AND HAVE NOT HAD A REPLY OR NO ONE HAS BEEN IN TOUCH WITH ME, TO RESOLVE THIS ISSUE

I have purchased LG microoven model No. ML8083MCK on 27/01/2006 at the cost of Rs.13000/- plus from M/S Alfa, Irla road, vile parle(w), Mumbai and with a great surprise, it became unserviceable only after a period of about one and half years span. It has been reported by the technician that magnetrone has gone bad and a expenditure of Rs. 1700/-(approx) has to be borne by me. it is most unfortunate and sorry to mention that such reputed company like LG has failed to maintain its quality. If this is the state then why people will prefer to go for brand name when low cost products are available in the market under non reputed brand name. so I highly condemn this situation and lodge a strong protest. I hope this matter should be taken care of very sensibly and resolve rightly in favour of the coustomer at earliest.

OUR LG LCD WAS DAMAGED IN JET AIRWAYS. WHEN IT IS DAMAGED IN THIER FLIGHT THEY HAVE TO REIMBURSE IT, BUT RATHER THEY SAY THEY ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE, HOW STUPID. I have yet again had to take my LG GT405 phone back to the shop because of a faulty screen. The display will not respond which causes problems switching it off. You have to take the battery out, which is not too much of a problem as the build qualiry is SO bad the battery cover can slide off with the lightest touch. The plastic casing is of such bad quality, I think you must have melted down the plastic from the trays that hold chocolates in a cheap box of chocolates. The case scratdhes very east and feels flimsy. With the battery cover that does not stay on properly and sub standard technology (screen not working, no high quality components) I am not surprised the product was doomed to fail. I have only had the phone a few months. Does LG stand for Low Grade? Because thats what I feel you are giving us. Oh and I would send a picture but the phone has been sent back for repairs, but no doubt you have probably seen it yourselves when it comes in for repair.

My complaint number is RNA [protected]. I bought a window AC on April 21, 2010. In the first week of April I got the AC serviced under the warrantly period through LG. The serviced AC was taken on the pretext that there has been a gas leak after which the AC was serviced. The serviced AC was put in the room but was still throwing hot air. Since the AC was under the warranty period, another complaint was made by me, the person told me that there is some problem with the stabiliser. The AC after the second service and change of stabliser worked ok for 10 days. Then I am again facing the same problem and My AC is still having the same problem. This is my third complaint within one month and no one has even replied to my complaint for the last three days. LG is providing horrible services and I am very unhappy with the experience.

Pathetic service. Please think twice before purchasing a LG airconditioning unit to your house.

I purchased a LG air condition to beat the summer on 28th of April from VGP show room, Indiranagar, Bangalore. I was told that the LG service people will come and instal the AC very next day. On 30th i called the service center and provide the service request number VGP person provided me ([protected]) and enquired why no one has come to install the AC. I was promised the next day it will be done. However no one until 2nd May. When i called the customer service person in Bangalore he once again promised someone will be come late evening or early morning next day. Today is 3rd May. I have spent 5 hours on phone calling various LG customer service numbers. I am told no one has been assigned so far. Every time i call toll free number [protected] begin_of_the_skype_highlighting [protected] end_of_the_skype_highlighting(i talked to JAY and others) i am told the issue will be escalated and they will call me back in 1 hour. So far no one has called me back. I wonder why was i so particular about buying LG every time i purchased a consumer durable against the vendors advise about LGs poor customer service. I think LG does not deserve this name and share in the market. My AC is sitting in my house like a show piece.

I Bought a 3D LG Projector about a month ago from Makro in Port Elizabeth. We also bought the glasses and 2 3D movies. I tried to install the Projector at home, but the 3D side of it doesn't want to work. I've called LG customer services several times, but nobody can give me any information of how to get this fixed. Everytime they tell me they will find out and call me back and after a week when I call again they still do not have any answers. I bought this device to watch 3D movies, what am I supposed to do to get someone to assist me?

I purchased window 1.50 T A/c in New Delhi on 1 May 2014. I made a request for servicing the same on 17-4-14 vide RNA [protected] & made a call on 18-5-14 followed by various calls on 19th and 20 th 2014. The moment I told them that I am going to make a complaint in public domain, without my concurrence they closed the complaint on their own by sending nasty message like door closed, no response, customer self repair etc. The person at customer care gave the mobile no of Mr Hemanshu who is not reachable. This man never bothered to reply any one of the three messages sent to him. My humble advise is NEVER BUY LG Products or else face after sale service problem like me

I purchased my t.v May2011 i noticed around august my t.v started having problems with the volume. One minute you had it then it was gone. I thought it was from the hdmi cords i puchased at a black Friday sale. I bought new ones that were $49.99 at wal-mart around Christmas and for awhile the problem was gone so I thought. My children informed around Febuary2012 when the picture started having lines run across it that they hadn’t been watching it when i was gone because they had problems with the volume.

I notified LG and they sent a repair tech out. within two hours of him leaving the volume went out again. The repair teach came on a Friady and that Tuesday while watching the tv white bubbles apeered all over the screen. I got LG back on the phone and they told me it sounded like the megapixels and it would be an expensive fix. I told the lady on the phone how is that when this t.v is not even a year old and was hardly watched.

She then said she would send a repair tech back outbut he couldn’t come for two days. I wanted this t.v so bad and now i wish i would have went with another brand. I was always told LG was at the top of the line sorry to disappoint I WOULD NOT recommend this brand to anyone. I will be contacting consumer affairs and a lawyer if this problem continues.

We purchased LG Washer and Dryer set from Home Depot in December 2009. The last week of September 2011, the dryer without any prior warning or error message just stopped. It is LG DLE2301W dryer. It needs a new computer control module, which will cost $550 if I replace it myself. This product was advertised as the best thing since paper napkins. It is the most energy efficient and responsible "green" product for all its energy savings. Unfortunately, like most so called marketed "green" products, its corporate double speak lies to sell products. I cannot see how replacing an appliance operated on some electronic computer module that fails every 21 months and cost more than half the original purchase price to replace is environmentally responsible. Just what our fragile earth needs is to fill up our land fills with electronic appliances which have parts in the computer processors which are forever toxic to the environment. This dryer was a replacement for a dryer that I had, had for nearly 20 years. It just had a timer and an on and off switch and always dried our clothes. It worked many times a week through our child rearing years and was still working when I put this new latest technology dryer in. The machine for the "environmentally conscious consumer". LG is a mega corporation like all the other electronic appliance manufacturers. They do not have to make reliable, durable, sustainable and environmentally responsible products. They are accountable to no one but their share holders. Their version of being environmentally responsible is they will pay more for marketing lies that say their products are "green" and off set that cost by having their components made by the cheapest labor possible in a poor developing country and have their fine logo "Life is Good" while they rape the consumer and our environment with their products that have to be replaced every two years or less. That is just great for corporate profits. Since we are now empty nesters and not doing very many loads a month as in earlier years; I estimate that since our purchase of the machine 21 months back the machine was turned on and operated 84 times. That comes down to about $13.70 per load. I have to also assume that since I bought the matching LG washing machine at the same time and have done approximately 84 loads with it, that I will soon have the same problem with it. So that means that it is costing me $27.38 per wash load, not including of course the actual utility cost of operating the machines. It may be true that these machines may actually reduce the amount of water and energy that my previous washer and dryer used. Which were really very simple- just a timer and an on an off switch. The old washer 20 years old and the old dryer which was 17 years old, both were still operating by the way when I replaced them with these most electronically advanced LG machines. The old models cost probably together at time of purchase around $500.00. The old models probably did about 4000 loads of laundry during the time I owned them. That comes out to about $.13 per load. I gave the old units to my Mexican friends who are still using them. I would suggest to anyone looking to buy a washer and dryer, to start looking first on Craig's list for the dinosaur type units that just had a timer and an on and off switch. You could buy and dispose of these old units every 5 years and still be both economically an environmentally more responsible than buying these LG appliances every 21 months. I suspect LG products are not any worse than any of the other appliance models that Home Depot is selling with the so called newest and best features. I have found that most anything made today for sale in Home Depot stores, especially electric tools and appliances have a average life expectancy of 16-24 months. Major corporations today spend more money and attention marketing their pack of lies than in making products that any one would be willing to put their name and reputation behind. As for me, I will never buy another product willingly with LG's name on it. If we want better products, then we simply have to refuse to buy their products until they care to make products that employ american workers and are actually reliable. I cannot afford and most people cannot afford to buy new appliances every 21 months.

i and many others have participated in the lgchatterville competition i won 500 airtime twice but stil have nothing to show for it some people even won fones but never received anything i cant help but think this is a scam because the competition has been runing for almost 2months now and not even 1 person has received their prize.the official website says no prizes will be awarded after 3pm but competition ends on the 18th of october that also has got me confused...i try communicating with the admin on the facebook lgchatterville group but i get ignored please look into it and if this is a scam then lets save eachada the missery of LG getting a bad reputation and for me to stop having high hopes for something thats not coming

Besides the above complaints I have contacted the repair center many times to get empty assurance.

I was told that Tuner has gone bad and the part is not
available.

More than 3 months has passed away. I wonder what LG

In 2005 we purchased a Maytag washer and Dryer. The Maytag was a top-load vs. a front load. All the washer did was clean your clothes and then wrap them into a tight tangled ball of clothing. It would take 20 minutes to undo the knot.

We complained to Maytag an Home Depot. The Depot exchanged only the Washer for an LG. Would not take the dryer, so we had a nice mixed set. Within a year the LG began throwing codes and stop working. Repairs found no problem (of course). Last year I replaced the computer. Remember, EVERY new appliance is computerized to allegedly save energy and water. Thank you EPA, and your minions. Kudos to the congressional commitees.

IF you have a singel sane synaptic action left in your brain, DO NOT BUY A NEW LG or ANY new appliance. You are guaranteed to have issues at the worst possible time (before the prom, the cruise, the flight, the vacation of your dreams..) IT WILL FAIL. This is part of the design. If you are over the age or 40 you can recall appliances lasting a generation or even 2.
15 to 20 years was not unheard of for a washer and dryer set (unless you beat them, or had really really bad water). The average life of these now appears to be a realistic 5-6 years.

A computer for an LG washer is between $145 and $375 depending on where you find it. Replacement by a technician is at least $150. A do-it-yourself person can do the job, but mind you, these are re-furb computers. ANd you will have to replace the whole thing even if its just a fuse. The fuse is glued in beneath a 1/5 inch layer of urethane. Good luck.

I can usually fix anything that does not require an FAA or other government approval for use. With the new appliances, your on your own. We replaced the Maytag Dryer (Computer again... at $289) with a 2010 GE Plane Jane Dryer for $100 off Craigs list. It will out-last me.

DO NOT BUY A COMPUTER CONTROLLED APPLIANCE OF ANY KIND IF YOU CAN AVOID IT. IT WILL FAIL. I GUARANTEE IT.

My Name is Satyajit Banerjee.I live in Calcutta. I bought an LG Portable DVD Player(Model :-DP351, Serial no.- 811MTNJ001479 from "Sakel" duty-free shop at Ben-Gurion airport Israel last year(30.10.2009) but since 2.10.2010, the unit is having some problem. The sound is not coming from the unit and the remote controller is also not functioning. At the time of the problem the unit was under the warranty and within the warranty period I lodged a complaint, the call no. C10A2925846.
Against the above call no. C10A2925846, a technician was sent from the Calcutta service centre (LG Electronics India Pvt. Ltd.Metro Tower, 6th Floor, Kolkata Branch, ) who visited my place and after inspecting the defective set, he consulted with his Area Manager Mr. Siddhartha and told me that, he cannot proceed now and will report to the concern department. Next week I was asked to sent the soft copy of the bills and the warranty card, which I sent and after a few days, I came to know that, -every time the customer have to pay the service charges and spares cost, whenever they need to repair an International Product regardless of the Warranty Period. This was confirmed by your Service Manager Mr.Siddhartha and Miss. Mithumita Bardhan CCO, Kolkata Branch and furthermore no support is possible for this product because of the Warranty Card which is written in Hebrew language instead of English, and for that I was told to contact Israel office to solve this issue.
I used to work for a leading news paper group of eastern India the ABP Ltd.( publications -Andabazar Patrika, The Telegraph) and for that I need to travel abroad for different assignment and many times I purchased lot of electronic items from different international duty free shop and every where I was assured of it, s International Warranty but this time though at the shop the sales person promised me of its International Warranty facility of LG International but in real scenario it is fake.
