This company contacted our company via the Yellow Pages and asked us to perform landscaping work for them for the 7-11's in Norfolk, VA.
They have paid us 1 small check for services since March 2010 and it was only partial payment. This is August 31, 2010 and they have not responded back to us when we called and left a message, they keep changing people around in their company so you never speak to the same person rarely if you do get someone on the phone. They give you a promise date and then you never get anything in the mail. Beware this company is not legit in doing business. They will keep sending you rejection letters to off set payment another 45 days so they can keep from paying you and will send you out to do more work and then send you a rejection notice saying they will not pay. We are at a stand still at this time and the only option is to go to small claims court or to an attorney. I feel the media needs to be informed so the businesses here in the USA are no longer being ripped off from this company.

I posted on this page back in 2010. I was angry and felt ripped off by my best friend. Who I loved as a brother. I know Level 1 was having problems and I could tell the people at the top were not doing the right things to their clients. First of all it was none of my business. I should of kept my nose out of it. Over the Years I have recontacted John Chambers and are slowly rebuilding our friendship. John is a good guy. I have tried to retract a statement I made on this page and the web server refuses to remove the comment. So I am writing you this letter. To my friend I am truly sorry if this causes you any harm to your work dealings. I plee with this site to remove my previous statement regarding John Chambers.

I was hesitate on going repair work for this company after reading reviews. I was honest about this and a women proceeded to tell me, at one point it took a little longer to pay their employees because Blockbuster went out of business and owed them so much money. She told me they all have been paid though. i started out with a small job for them just to give the the benefit of the doubt. i did receive my payment in 31 days. Since then, i have done quite a few jobs for this company and have had no problem getting paid and they keep giving me work. no complaints here.

I did numerous emergency calls and a whole winter of snow removal including bobcat work. They owe me over 6 thousand dollars! Can anyone help me? Please email me jsphkaminski@yahoo.com

wouldnt work for this company again of u gave me the world! and thanks namco for starving my family. should have fell the tree i trimmed right through your blockbusters. feont window. now i know what to tell people! dirt bag yuppies!

Same boat as everyone else who worked for Level 1 Maintenance. I sent certified letters to the property owners of the locations we serviced and have talked to FM facility maintenance. After numerous calls to FM, I found out John Chalmers started another comapny in Florida while Level 1 Maintenance was screwing us. After learning this news I checked it out with Florida Division of Corporations website and there it was plain as day: North American Maintenance Co. Inc. 2627 W Grand Reserve Cirlce 511, Clearwater, FL 33759. Guess he didn't have enough screwing contractors over with the first 2 companies.

You are 100% correct Kristin, Steve, and John have well bennifited from Level 1. There lavish life style comes first. John flys first class has his first class room at every airport, drives the most expeniceve rental cars, and stays in lavish hotel room across the country. Hi wine's and dines other female employes on the company credit card. I have knowen John Chalmbers for many years before he asked me to work with him at Level 1. I know all about his devent womeniesing ways. after he offered a great job package it went away after another female employe was hired. I personal seen John share a double suite with another female employe who bought him a huge wine a cheese platter and presendented to him before they retired for the night. I personaly seen John get two other female employes so drunk they were making out for him and later one was invited back to his room to later be told by john he had hit that. All paid for on the company credit card of course. Good only knowes who paid for he resort home he bought as a get away and the bar he opned! There is where your money is going people. I would love to testife in court against them ### I got so much proff and pitchers. Level 1 is a fraud dont waste your time working for them...

I am another contractor, almost word for word ( from the other complaints) is what our company has gone through. I really can't add anything, they have the same story I have. Work 100% complete, no pay, lots of promise dates. Please contact your attorney General in your state.

This company will NOT pay you. I used to work for them and it is what they do. Instead the owner and Kristen "CFO" will buy themselves cars, houses, and open a restaurant in VT. Everytime you call in they will give you the run around and will transfer you to her VM but will never return a call. Even worse is Steve Ross the "Director of Operations" who will also not speak with anyone regarding late payments. If I were you and owned a company I would stay FAR away as they are going under and will NEVER pay you.

John chalmers is a [censored]ing scumbag. Takes advantage of his employees here in safty harbor.checks bounce every week takes vacation with the companys money and when its time to pay his employes there checks bounce .his employees use drugs on the job all the time.take all the girls on vaction spends all money on them. He doesnt take of the pepple who really makes the money for the company .dont ever work for this scumbag .he'll make youe life miserable

I agree. I have done work for them in NC at various Exxons. They lost the contract with the Exxons in September. We have received payment for services rendered for March and April. On Oct. 21 they wrote that they would write a check for some of the sites completed in May. I have yet to receive this check. (The last check sent took about 2 months to get here.) They do not respond to emails nor do they return phone calls. MY SUGGESTION TO YOU IF THEY CONTACT YOU TO DO WORK FOR THEM, DON'T DO IT! They expect everything to be done by the letter of their book and do not live up to their end of the bargain.

I too am a landscaper in Norfolk, Va who contracted with Level 1 maintenance to service 7 Eleven landscaping.
I started the season in March 2010 I worked until June 2, 2010. Submitted all my invoices monthly, contract completed, waited 45 days, 2 months, 3 months 4, 5, and now 6 months and level 1 has not paid.

I email and email and email every person I have an email address for and today they blocked all my incoming emails to level 1 maintenance and sent me a email saying they are waiting on funds from 7 Eleven and would pay me when funds come available. The contract though said they would pay me 45 days from receipt of my bill.

What am I to do? 757.202.7770
