LensCrafters - horrible experience

I visited this office 3 weeks ago and got a new prescription for my contact lenses and bought 1 year supply of the clear contact lenses from them. On one of the sites on the internet I found beautiful colored contact lenses with my dimensions and I ordered them. When a representative from the site called the Dr.’s office the first time, to verify the prescription, they said that my prescription was expired. I called the Dr.’s office and reminded them that I was there 3 weeks ago. The second time a representative from the site called the Dr.’s office; they said that I was not fitted for color lenses. I called the Dr.’s office again and they assured me that I am fitted for color lenses and said that the company has to do a request via fax. The company did that. The next day I called The Dr.'s office and they said that they did not receive a fax. When the company called them, they said it is the wrong phone number. On the last call, they said that they are not going to approve the prescription. This is an obvious scam and they want me to buy lenses only from them. All this was very frustrating and disappointing. It was a horrible experience and a waste of time. I have been their patient for 5 years and did not expect a treatment like that. I am not going to go back there anymore. They lost me and my husband as customers!

I Bought RX glasses and RX sunglasses from Lens Crafters and the script was incorrect but they told me it wasn't the script but it was because I didn't have HD put in them. When I asked what their version of HD was they said it would expand my peripheral vision all the way to the edge of the glasses. I paid two hundred dollars more and got my second pair back:. The script was incorrect, again|. The vision was even worse and I had less peripheral than my old glasses". I decided to consult some experts in the field of Optometry and others from a lens laboratory and they both advised me there was is no such thing as HD but it does make a difference depending on which Lab manufactures the lenses". They said the best quality at this time is the Trivex lens'. There is suppose to be a Smart Lens and digital lens but they have not been out long enough for them to recommend!. I will be giving them their glasses back and go elsewhere;. I may pay more but at least I will be able to see.

Washington Crown Center has several opticals owned by same company. You are better off to go someplace else. They are over priced and lack knowledge of the products. The doctor and the store say they are two different places and will not answer any thing they just send you back and forth to different people. They have hours posted and they do not follow them. There prices for exams change after you are there and the discounts are taken only off half the exam price. The exam takes about 10 mins with the doctor and the other 50 mins with the front desk.

What a shame that this business can continue to operate as they do, after all we are talking about our sight, a gift of life.

Their**

Exams START at $49, this is well posted as well as known by every associate. Depending on your benefits, yes, it may take half off the exam. Take this up with your insurance provider. It isn't a problem with Lenscrafters.
