Legislative Research Center review: Unethical, deceptive sales tactics 1

This rep for this company showed up inferring he was there on some sort of official government capacity - he even showed me his "credentials". He said he was taking a poll on immigration policy, and inferred that it was sponsored by a congressman, and that it would only take a minute. After I finished the poll I got a call from a customer, so I excused him. He left my office but then kept poking his head in pressuring me to end the call. When I ended it, he said he just wanted to show me their website. He rushed me through a process, and when I was asked to put my personal information, I asked him what they did with it, and if they shared it. He said, "I will explain it on the next screen". Well, he did not explain it, he tried to sell me very expensive "memberships" to their website (the cheapest started at almost $500 dollars). The entire process and the way he presented himself was misleading, deceptive and a ruse to try and get into my wallet. When I said no, he rudely walked away in a huff without even a good bye, let alone a thank you. Upon writing this review, I also realized that not even the name of the company is clear. The business card has two names, "Write Your Congressman" and "Legislative Research Center". And if that is not enough, their website is completely unrelated, nwyc.com. These are not ethical people, they are just out for your money, steer clear of them.
