We were sold a sick puppy and promised an AKC english lab puppy. She is not an english Labrador. The breeder Mike Wallace will not return phone calls. She has had urinary issues since the day we got her. We were promised a 1 year health and hip guarantee.

He is being investigated for fraud by the state of Michigan. I have been contacted. I would not purchase a puppy from him ever again. He knew what he was doing. From day 1 he never returned a single phone call.

No calls were returned. I was sent invalid AKC papers from the wrong litter you refused to sign per the AKC. No calls were returned to them as they tried to contact you many times. I just hope this helps others to purchase from a reputable breeder. And I have documentation I contacted you within 7 days after purchasing a sick puppy. I have gotten many responses of others having the same experience. I just hope this helps others in not making the same mistake we did. I and others have been in contact with an attorney to stop this bad practice.

If you claim the AKC papers are correct you sold me a puppy under 5 weeks old.

I purchased my first dog from Cedar River (Mike Wallace) in March of 22. She came home with coccidia, a few months later she came up lame with a Luxating Patella. ($2000.00 surgery and she’s better, mostly) I contacted Mike and he was more than happy to give us another pup. When the time was right we picked up our chocolate girl in March of 23. While these dogs temperaments are amazing, this dog was sick too. Giardia, Coccidia, Bladder Infections, many trips to the vet. I consider these dogs a rescue after seeing what conditions I took this pup home from.

I have attempted to contact Mike to get the AKC paperwork on this pup. He’s blocked me on Facebook, avoiding my text messages (I’m assuming blocked) and I’m sure they won’t read my email either.

Do not purchase from him unless you have a big wallet to help cover costs.

I will also be calling AKC as he claims these dogs are AKC limited registered.

We purchased a Chocolate lab on September 1 2017. We could not be happier. Our lab is healthy, smart and has a great temperament. Mr. Wallace seemed forthcoming and helpful. We met both parents and plenty of other pups. They all appeared healthy and happy. Upon our purchase Mr Wallace provided and explained the AKC paperwork along with our new puppy kit. Mr Wallace was a pleasure to deal with and we would do it again.

Still waiting on our paperwork for litter 04/01/2016 several attempts made on contacting Mr. Wallace with no response. Very disappointed in this Breeder. Please Please learn to call people back and own up instead of just ignoring people. Honesty goes a long way !

We also purchased a puppy from here in 2015 - we did not receive the AKC papers as well after many phone calls/messages about it. But like most everyone else said - we love the dog regardless - the papers are not why we bought her. I would not get a puppy from here again unless I was given the papers at the time of purchase. He should not selling dogs at registered dog prices if he can't provide the papers.

I purchased a yellow lab from Mr. Wallace 2014- He explained everything- I also had the puppy checked out by my vet and he is in perfect heath-
I would highly recommend anyone to purchase a puppy from him. Our dog is sweet, easy going, very trainable. We were able to meet the parents on site . Mr. Wallace answered all our questions and received all documentation. He is a wonderful person and breeder.

Hi I purchased a black English Lab puppy from Mister wallace in the fall of 2012. He was immediately checked out by my vet and found to be in excellent health with good conformation. He has proved to be an excellent pet very friendly, follows commands well, and playful. I would highly recommend Wallace Labradors. I had numerous contacts and visits in the process of purchasing I found Mr. Wallace to be very forthcoming.

I would just like to take the opportunity to clarify/amend information related to my posts relevant to Mr. Wallace. After spending 30 years in law enforcement I consider myself quite a 'good judge of character". This was why I was shocked when I initially did not receive my papers as promised. Though Mr. Wallace has not commented on this site, I would like to speak on his behalf. I met with Mike again yesterday. He gave me the necessary paperwork to register my puppy and AFTER my inquires explained the tardiness. Mr. Wallace has been deeply involved in a situation relevant to the health of a child. Granted, a mistake was made, but after my conversation I am convinced that I too would have had my mind elsewhere. As I initially posted I was able to meet Mr. Wallace's family when I purchased my puppy. They appear to be a great, loving family, raising puppies and caring for their dogs in a loving household. Our puppy is a FANTASTIC dog. Beautiful with a wonderful happy temperament. We would not trade him for the world. I would also like to add that knowing what I know now...I would not hesitate to see Mike for another Lab. Honest, caring man. I sincerely apologize for doubting your integrity.

Sounds like he needs to be reported. I have never purchased an AKC puppy without taking the papers home with me when the puppy is picked up. Also, it is illegal to sell a puppy under 8 weeks of age in Michigan. Illegal Mr. Wallace. Complaints about the age should be made to the Michigan Department of Agriculture so this breeder can be stopped.

We bought our beautiful Chloe from Mike on Dec 21, 2013. She is a yellow lab with beautiful coloring. She is only 4 months old, but so far she is a joy and has no health issues. We were given our AKC papers when we paid for her and took her home. Mike and his kids were wonderful to deal with and let us spend plenty of time picking out the right puppy for our family. We got to meet mom and dad and check out the kennels. He also showed us the room the puppies are born in and stay in for their first few weeks. He gave us her first vaccination record and a folder on how to care for our puppy and coupons for puppy products. Chloe is our third lab (first purchased from Wallace labs). She is an English just as promised and has the best temperament. I hope to train her as a therapy dog as I think she would be a natural. I would recommend Mike to anyone looking for a great family pet. As I said, we do have her papers, but they don't matter to us.

I just registered my puppy. My mom drove down to his place and got the paperwork for me. She said he has every ones paperwork on his desk set to mail. She offered to help him, but he said no. She said he was very nice and even let my nephew pet one of the new born puppies. For those of you who haven't received it yet, it appears that he has the information ready to go, just needs to mail it. If you texted him, he may be able to help you with the registration number, your puppies pin number, and the fully registered numbers for the box and you could register right online.

I bought my puppy from Mike the day after Mothers Day so May 13 but she was born March 25. I have nothing bad to say about my puppy's health or temperament. I get compliments all the time on how pretty she is and well behaved she is for a baby. We currently do obedience, dock diving working on fly ball and soon agility. I wouldn't trade her for anything! Mike was very nice from the day we picked her out, we picked her out when she was a week old, we wanted a female yellow with liver nose. We were lucky enough to live only 40mins from Mike so we went and visited our puppy ever weekend and Mike was very nice about this, never once seemed bothered by us. But hear are my problems with him. From the day we put our deposit on her I made it very clear that I would not take my puppy home earlier then 8 weeks olds and he seemed totally fine with that. But the visit before she was 5 weeks old he started pushing us to take her and I said absolutely not and he seemed annoyed. We had a trip planned and didn't want to bring our new puppy and she needed to be with her litter, 5-8 weeks is very important in the social development of puppy's but Mike didn't care. He said that they were on puppy food not needing to nurse from mom anymore and that my puppy would be the last one left because people where coming the next week to start taking them home. I said I didn't care keep her with her mom. Well he was right, we gave in and picked her up when she was a few days over 7 weeks and she was the last one along with a puppy his daughter decided to keep. Only a medical reason would be ok to sperate a mom and pups earlier then 8 weeks unless your wanting to push them out for more litters. My other issue is the AKC papers, he did not have them when we picked her up, should have been a red flag for us but like I said we had our puppy and I wouldn't trade her for anything. He said they would be mailed to us in a few weeks tops, well months went by with nothing. Calls, text, emails and no response from Mike. So we packed up and went to his house. He was very friendly and sorry saying something about DNA and a signature issue and family problems. He invited us to his office and he went threw piles and piles of papers asking over and over, her birthday date, litter size and parents names. Like hello guy you should know this stuff, thank goodness I have a great memory when it comes to animal things so I remembered it all, tho the birthday on her papers are off by 3 days and I have a issue with the mom but to be honest wasn't gonna cause a issue I just wanted them. He advertised AKC puppy's and thats what I paid for, again tho I wouldn't trade her papered or not but you need to live up to your advertising. Once we registered her we got a letter a few weeks later saying it was on hold because of questionable DNA, it was later fixed and she is registered. So honestly I can say I would only refer someone to Mike if papers were not important to them cuz chances are you won't get them even tho he advertises registered puppy's. Also to someone who doesn't mind getting a puppy to young to leave mom cuz he will push them out the door as soon as they are 5 weeks prolly to make room for his multiple other litters and to breed mom again. Don't get me wrong all the dogs were happy, fat, friendly and looked well taken care off but I honestly feel they are way over bred by him. Also he doesn't bred to Labrador standards I found out when registering her that a yellow with a "liver or brown" nose is a huge frown in the breed and he always has tons of them, fyi, still I wouldn't trade mine for anything. In Mikes advertisements he states they are English Labs I can say I've seen a few of his puppy's/dogs and they tend to lean more towards the American/field version so you know. The best advise I can give is do your research and stand behind your feelings, only you can decided if any breeder is right for you.

Just as a follow up, I filed a complaint with the BBB concerning the lack of AKC paperwork. Mr. Wallace failed to respond to them as well. The case has been closed based upon his failure to respond.

I doubt he will ever return your call. I agree our puppy is beautiful but please fulfill your promises. PLEASE update if you ever receive your papers. I continue to wait and have went as far as to file a complaint with the BBB. I encourage others to do the same. He should not advertize AKC registered puppies if he has no intent to provide the papers. I dont mean to doubt "Alittle05" but I too was told, "they are being mailed today". I agree with Caesar804, it appears Mr. wallace IS NOT TO BE TRUSTED.

I purchased my male yellow labrador from Mike over 4th of July weekend in 2013. My puppy was born on 5/20/13. He has been the best dog ever and I am currently training him to be a therapy dog for children with cancer. I am stopped continuously and complimented on how beautiful he is and how great his temperament is. I received my paperwork the day I got my puppy and everything ran smoothly for me. However, I have heard people having trouble getting their paperwork. I apologize to those who have had issues, but there are no complaints for me. I couldn't be happier and more blessed to have such a great puppy. He is now 7 months old and I have had no health issues with him. The vet and his trainer think he is wonderful and such a smart dog. The day I picked him out all of the puppies were frolicking in the grass and chasing one another. I was able to meet both parents and ask him questions. He allowed me to stay for 45 minutes or so until I chose the best puppy for me. I think he breeds beautiful labs with great temperaments. He has been the greatest therapy for me!

We also purchased a male chocolate lab in September 2013 from Mike. The litter was born August 4. We have not received our AKC paperwork either and Mike will not return my phone calls. Caesar is a beautiful, smart and healthy dog but Mike Wallace is not to be trusted.

I too purchased a puppy from Mr. Wallace. Actually my post is the second above.. our dog is also a loved member of our family however we also have NO PAPERS. I also called and was told the "papers are on my desk and are being placed in the mail". One month later still no papers. He is either extremely disorganized or dishonest. He will not return a phone call.

I purchased a chocolate male on September 23, 2013. He was born on August 5th. Mr. Wallace told me he would send the AKC paperwork soon after that. I have left numerous phone messages. I received one text indicating that Mike Wallace had the paperwork and it would be out in the mail in a few days. That was over a month ago. Still no paperwork. We love our Bosco! He is a beautiful and healthy 4 1/2 month old puppy. It really does not matter much to us to not have the paperwork. We do not plan to breed or show him. However, be forwarned, if you want the AKC papers don't give him the money or leave without them!

We purchased our puppy from Mr. Wallace on 10/5/13. He is beautiful, smart and a joy to our home. We also met both parents and Mr. Wallace's family. We could not be more pleased. Our "willie" is now a beautiful, healthy member of our family.

Dear Mr David Cue, it was recently brought to my attention that you had posted a slanderous statement on this webpage therefore I am going to provide you and anyone else that views this site with as many facts as possible. You picked out your choice of puppy and provided me with your address for AKC paperwork. You met both of the parents of your puppy and had no reservations reagarding the way they looked nor no reservations regarding viewing their AKC pedigrees prior to your purchase. Your puppys AKC paperwork was sent registered mail to the address that you provided to me and you infact signed for the papers. Several weeks after you took your puppy home you contacted me regarding a Urinary Track Infection your puppy had developed. We spoke briefly on the phone and I was lead to believe you were handleing it with an antiobiotic. Weeks later you contacted me via phone regarding the issue that you no longer really liked the "look" of your puppy. I asked you to send me a photo of your puppy and you did. From someone who has been breeding labs for over 20 years, your puppy looked healthy and perfect. You never did offer what you no longer liked about the "look" of your puppy. Again several weeks later, when your puppy was approx 16-18 weeks old, you contacted me regarding a broken tail that you felt your puppy then had. I assure you that no puppy has ever left our property with a broken tail or any other health issues or concerns. We would NEVER sell a sick puppy. I am quite certain you being an educated man that you would be able to tell if a puppys tail was broken by 6-8 weeks when taking it home, not wait to contact us 2 months later. Your statement that I have never spoken with you or returned a call is completely false as I have just reminded you of the several phone calls and text messages we shared and what the conversations entailed. As far as Im concerned your accusations of fraud are abserd and uncalled for. You seen the parents of your puppy and clearly seen they were beautiful Labradors. You were sent your AKC paperwork as promised via registered mail.

Both my father and myself purchased labs from Mr Wallace. My beautiful black female is now 2 years old and my fathers yellow female is approaching her 2 year old birthday as well. My lab is the smartest and calmest dog I have ever met. She has been more like a therapy dog to myself and my family:) She did how get a UTI when I first had her. My vet did confirm that it is very normal for any pup to get a UTI as when they clean themselves they lick the entire area and that was how this infection can occur. She never appeared sick in any fashion, in fact it was I who noticed there was some light green fluid around her vulva area. A simple antibiotic took care of the issue and as she has grown up I have never noticed another problem. I guess she got better at cleaning herself. My fathers new lab came into his life as he was mourning the loss of his 12 year old lab. His new baby has brought him so much joy and peace to his life that I could not be happier. His female has never had a UTI so I guess she was an extra smart one from the litter. Both father and I received our AKC papers within weeks of our purchase and Mr Wallace was very thorough and explained the entire process. He was also available to answer questions that may have came up. I have visited Mr Wallaces property and the parents of my lab on several occasions. His kennels are clean and his dogs are happy and always excited to see visitors! He exercises them daily and boy can they run. It becomes similar to a horse track race as they are all trying to be the fastest and leader of the pack! You can tell he truely loves his labs and loves being able to bring amazing happiness to families with the puppys they pick out and take home! I am so thankful that I found Mike Wallace because both my fathers and my labradors have truely changed our lives!
