Kohl's discrimination against applicant

I had application sent from a job market to kohl's for a job. to provide for my child and I and I've talked to one manager,
about a open position and was told to fill out a application so I did, I called to check the status of my application and I
talked to the store manger when I called he told me was wasn't in charge of hiring anyone. he told me to call back in
talk to a Amber cahall who is the hiring mangers. so I talked to her she said she would give me a call the week of 7/8/2013
I was told due to dating someone she knew that I was not getting hired and form two employees in the store told me plus three people that have nothing to do with kohl's who does not work there told me she told them she was not hiring me because of the person I talk to who she dated in the pass. I applied for the job to take care of my child. I really don't like the fact she talks about business that should stay to herself in kohl's in not out in the street. I do not find that very professional at all. and this is not the first time this happen. Something really needs to be done. No one should not be turned down by a job due a relationship. Thank you so much.

Kohl's purchased gift card never sent

On June 7th I ordered a $50 e-gift card to be sent to my friend for his birthday. He never received it. I contacted customer service online, they were very nice, and said they'd send it again. Again, he never received it. Customer service said they would send a physical card, so I gave them his address. He never received it. I sent an email to Kohls stating what happened, and said that if they were not going to send the gift card, I wanted a refund. They responded that he would receive the gift card in 7-10 days. Personally, I think they should have sent it one-day mail! I have to wait until next week to see if he receives it. After reading a lot of bad complaints about Kohls, I'm getting nervous. Needless to say, they've had my $50 since June 7th. I will definitely never shop with them again!

Since I can't figure out how to edit/update my complaint, I'll do this as a comment. Kohls did not send the second physical gift card. I sent them an email demanding a refund, and received it a couple weeks later. This was a very stressful experience for me. I did contact the dispute department at my bank, and they took over, relieving me of all that stress. They removed the $50 from my Visa while we waited to see if I received the refund. They said they would be contacting Kohls if the refund did not arrive within 30 days. That helped a lot.

Kohl's surveillance video

I am a friend to this family. I am asking all grandparents and parents to Google "woman finds wallet at Kohl's, "This could happen to you, your children and your grand children." Kohl's loss prevention, The Fayetteville Georgia, Police department and Mr Smith were all aware that this woman did not take money from the wallet and give it to her grandsons, before this surveillance video was aired on Atlanta's WSB.

Kohl's Department Store, Fayetteville Georgia Police, and Mr Smith knew that there was not $300.00 to $400.00 worth of gift cards in the wallet as stated to the media by Mr Smith.

The Fayetteville Police Department and Mr Smith knew before the video was released to the media that the owner of the wallet and all its contents was Lillie Green from Jackson Mississippi and the only identification in the wallet was a Mississippi address on her drivers license..

The Fayetteville Georgia Police Department, Kohl's Department Store and Mr Smith knew there would not be any criminal charges filed against this woman before the video was aired, yet they still allowed Mr Smith to put out 911 calls.

The Fayetteville Police Department knew the wallet and its contents did not belong to a seminary student named Joseph Smith, yet they returned the wallet and contents to him...All this information is recorded on the Fayetteville, Georgia Police Evidence/Property Sheet and available to the public through the open records act.

Kohl's allowed a total stranger to walk in their store watch their surveillance video, choose the portion of the video that misinforms and misleads the sympathetic public to give support and donations under false allegations.. If additional video had been aired it would have shown the grandmother walking up to the customer service counter in an attempt to turn the wallet in. Legally there is nothing this grandmother or her grandsons can do..
Kohl's can give their surveillance video to anyone they choose, most major retail stores would never do this but Kohl's has no such policy and leaves this decision to the local stores loss prevention personnel.

What happened to this grandmother and her two grandsons because of Kohl's lack of concern for their shoppers could happen to you. Kohl's policy of giving surveillance video to the general public could also be used by pedophiles or used for racial profiling, gender profiling, stalking and many other dangerous and immoral acts.
Giving surveillance video to the public is not right and all who shop at Kohl's probably believe as this grand mother believed, surveillance video in department stores should be there to protect the shoppers not falsely accuse them .

“Its Not Right, Ethical or Moral, But Its Legal.”

Kohl's has a history of supporting and employing seminary students..I only have one question for Kohl's and this seminary student ..”What are they teaching in these seminary schools ?”

Kohl's termination

Hi all! First, I would like to say that since starting my career with Kohl's in August of 2007, I LOVED IT! I learned so much information about the in's and out's of the retail industry, as well as elevating my leadership skills to new levels. I started my career in Hillsboro, Oregon with store 1004 with a GREAT leader, a GREAT management team, and one of the BEST districts Kohl's has to offer. My goal was to get the proper training, which I did, in order to move up within the company. I was hired on as an Home & Kids Area Supervisor and eventually moved my way around ALL supervisory positions with successful results, development, knowledge, and also was given the opportunity to be enrolled in the A.I.M Program (Advancing in Management). I was one step closer to my goal of becoming an executive.
Outside of work, I was a family man with 3 children between my wife and I, as we both worked full-time to provide more for ourselves and children. My wife too, was on the up and up with her company and was offered a job in Mesa, Arizona of 2012. It was a substantial raise for her/us, and her company was going to pay for our relocation. We obliged. Although I have never moved before with children; trying to plan the move, sell our house, find a house there, and still maintain all of my full-time job duties were quite challenging nonetheless. All in all, we figured it all out and I found an Operations Area Supervisor position in Mesa that had just opened up. I partnered with the District Manager and told her that I will be beneficial to the store that I would be moving to. She knew what I was capable of bringing to the table at the struggling store. Win win.
After a month of being in Arizona, my wife wanted a divorce out of no where. I figured that she was stressed from the move. So I decided to give us some time apart for a week or two, for us to settle down. I was wrong. That's when the pain and suffering started. The move was, as I later found out proof, premeditated. She met someone within her company that was already here that they planned it all out. She closed our bank accounts. She took our vehicle from me, disabling me to get to work. She filed for divorce. With that comes the protective order, so I couldn't see my kids. I tried to return to our house to find out that the locks were changed. Now I am in DEEP water. I only had $200 to my name. I was living 20 miles from work. I had just moved here and I don't know anyone. HELP! I had to figure things out and FAST! My first priority was getting to work. $60 round-trip cabfare because I found out that the buses didn't run where my store was. Also, with being the OPS Supervisor, I had to be there by 4am. Now, the cabs are getting too spendy. So I start walking and doing any and everything to get to work and perform as all is well. My struggle continued. No family. No help. I then get ordered to pay temporary child support in the amount of $863 a month. I was also paying $400 a month for my first born son in another state. I'm a fighter not a quitter though.
Hello, 4th Quarter, in Retail. So as I continue to struggle with everything, my SM is on me for tardies and performance. I emailed him and the DM at the start of all of this, explaining that I have to demote because I cannot be in my position at this time of my life. They told me not to demote and that they would work with me. I obliged. After multiple arguments with the SM, as I was the ONLY one he'd pick at, he despised me. I didn't really agree with certain things that he did as a manager and would question him on it. I felt belittled and battered the whole time and requested a transfer to a store that was literally 1.5 miles away from where I was living. He made excuse after excuse until I gave up and mentioned it no more.
December of 2012, our DM got promoted to another state. We were waiting on who was going to get the position as they didnt fill it right away. On January 4th or around then, I was the closing manager. Before arriving to work, my electricity shut off. I didn't think anything of it. Once at work, my ex-wife calls me and says she has to go on a business trip in the morning. She asked if I could take the kids. Of course. Right before we closed, it dawned on me that the kids were coming and there would be no power in the morning. I had a few items that I was going to return before work today but didnt bring them because I couldn't find a ride and walked. I did, however, have the receipt. Right before I closed down the register, I did my return and would just bring the items back on my next shift, as I was in a bind. The return amount was $23. That was enough to run the meter for the kids arrival the next day. I ended up having the next two days off and came back to work as normal. A few days later I was called into the office. Questioned, suspended, and then terminated. No remorse after 6 long years. An accidental mistake on my part. I had so much on my mind and my kids aren't around.
I apologize to Kohl's Corporation for my actions. Termination seems a little out of bounds. No write-up was given. They wouldn't let me give the items back as a courtesy. With everything that happened to me here in the last 8 months, and my prior 6 years of success, I was defended? I was treated as a nobody for doing, in my opinion, a senseless return.
My only concern is, why they acted so quickly to terminate when there wasn't a DM placed at the time? If I was suspended until further investigation, why was I terminated in less than 24 hours? Sounds like NOTHING got investigated to me. Or even keep me suspended until you run it by the new DM? I also couldn't sign anything or was given a copy of ANYTHING until I called and asked for it 60 days later. It just doesn't add up...

You being terminated had nothing to do with a DM being in place. I'm sure there was a DLPM and its Loss Prevention's area not at DM's. I'm sure you were terminated quickly because you did a false return and basically stole money from Kohl's. Its clear you knew what you were doing was wrong and I get that you were in a desperate spot, unfortunately that doesn't matter. You lost your job for a valid reason, there is no wrong doing on Kohl's part. Also it does add up, you stole therefore you were fired.

Kohl's merchandise not received

I ordered a razor on 12/13/2012 and was assured it would be delivered by 12/24/2012 in time for Christmas. I never received my order. Fed Ex has confirmed I never received the package and as of 01/30/2013 Kohls is telling me they are still investigating the matter! The item has been paid for and all I want is for them to send me the merchandise I ordered; however Kohls has told me that they can not do that until their investigation is complete. Well how loan does it take? This is poor customer service on their part. I can take my business to Macy's if that is how they are going to treat a loyal customer!

Kohl's ruined my credit for $25. 00

Horrible company kohl's ruined my creditfor 31 years i have had excellent credit. Due to my stressful job and family obligations it's easy for me to forget to make a payment, so i put all my bills on autopay, except for one. Kohls doesn't allow it. During a particularly difficult time i was late on a $25. 00 payment, and they reported me to the credit bureau. My score decreased over 100 points. After complete disbelief, now anger has set in. I cannot believe this company ruined my credit over such a small missed payment. They are horrible, and had they allowed me to set up autopay this never would have happened. I have been employed at the same place for over 30 years and earn a good salary so i can afford to pay my bills and i have always paid my bills. I have lost all respect for a store that i used to think was the best. I will never shop there again. And i tell this to famiily, friends, and almost everyone i meet. Do not get their credit card.

Maybe you should take responsibility for your own actions and pay what you owe when you owe it. I believe in karma too, and it is not the company's fault you did not add them to your email server, or check your spam filter like the system tells you to. And Kolhs doesn't say it is the customer's fault, that is us. And it IS your fault when you charge something and act like the company is at fault when you fail to pay. They should close your account and sue you for the balance.

They did the same exact thing to me. My purchase was $13! I switched to a paperless statement and they were going into my Spam folder. You would think a compay that you have been doing business with for years would give you a courtesy call before they report you to the credit bureau. I believe in karma, if they keep this up, it's going to come back to haunt them, trust me! And all those comments that it is the customer's fault, nice try Kohl's!

I requested "paperless" to help the environment, and didn't realize that I was to set up an auto deduction from my checking account right away... I stupidly thought Kohl's would send me a bill online or a reminder to submit a payment, one month went by and when I checked online to see about my bill, I was already charged late fees... CREDIT RUINED due to this mix up... not only am I paying for it with my other credit cards, but now with my refinance! I feel unjustly penalized as I do not feel the "paperless" procedure was clarified when I signed up for it. Now I only get paper statements, and I don't miss any!

Kohl's online purchase

Letter to Kohls
Received jacket on time and was initially pleased. Most of the people I work with ( who also shop Kohls) commented on the jacket which I told them I purchased from Kohls online. Within a week the jacket began tearing at the underarm seam then tore along the sleeve. I contacted online support and was told to return it to the store. not a problem. Although I did not have the receipt I did have the online order confirmation with the order number, XXXXXXX. On attempting to return the jacket your csr looked inside where there was a label that clearly said "Alfani, exclusively for Macy's". I am placing the exact link to the jacket in the email.
http://www.kohls.com/product/prd-980760/excelled-two-button-leather-jacket-men.jsp

I had never noticed this prior as the jacket was sold by Kohls, nor does it state "Sold secondhand hand from Macy's" on the site. She said I now need the UPC number of the order as I didn't save the receipt. Due to the normally good quality of Kohl's goods I did not. So did the shipper somehow ship a jack that is EXACTLY the one pictured on Kohls.com, or is Kohls buying product from Macy's at cost that they could not move. I'm leaning towards the later, which I find very interesting. I can assure you, won't be ordering from your site again, or shopping your stores if this is the case. I (used to) spend at least over 1, 000 a year at your stores, along with my co-workers and relatives. not anymore. Word of mouth goes a long way, especially through office gossip. I am now stuck with a 136.00 jacket that lasted a week. I won't be making that mistake again. I'm from Point Pleasant, NJ, you may recognize the name as we've been in the spotlight over the last few months for some pretty negative reasons. After all we've gone through around here in the previous months, the last thing I needed this year was more stress, particularly before the holidays.

Kohl's paperless billing

In September 2012 I signed up for paperless billing. Somehow Kohl got an invalid email address because the "l" was dropped from gmail making it "gmai" . I never got the bills but Kohls never notified me by phone or regular mail until I was over 60 days delinquent. They reported this delinquency to the credit agencies hurting my credit score. For ten years I never missed a Kohl's payment until i went paperless. I know their bills bounced back because when I used that incorrect address to test it, it bounced back to me. The collections dept. sent me a letter and I called. The first rep admitted it was Kohl's mistake but when i asked the supervisor to change their report to the credit agencies I received a letter saying it was my fault. I provided an invalid email address. They did remove one of the late fees as a "courtesy" but I am more concerned about my score. I can not believe they would do a loyal customer this way. All they have to do is look a the way I faithfully paid my bills over the last ten years. I will miss the store because it had some good deals.

Tasha shut up. They say this is the third time this has happened that I missed a payment . I have been a customer with them for five years and only missed three payments. This is their fault for not fixing my typo.

th!sman I am an adult. I am 40 years old. I have been living on my own since I was 17. You may think you are doing your Boy Scout duty for sticking up for me but you are not. So get out okay. Stop embarasing me. I can fight my own battles and don't need you to do a favor and stick up for me. Also what is wrong with your I key. What are you like 11-12. Only an 11 or 12 year old would replace ! with l. You are not my mother so don't fight my battles. Like I said I have paid my bills find over the five years I was their customer and I have only missed three payments.

Wow my review has really been busy today. Anyways here goes.

They are saying because I had bad credit and because this is the third time that I did not pay my bills that is why they reported me. I have had this same problem before with them but they understood my explaination and let it slide.

th!sman

I am not a child and I don't need you to embarrass me and stick up for me. I can fight my own battles so if you are going your little Boy Scout deed do it for someone else because I don't need a babysitter. As a matter of fact I am old enough to be your father. I have been on my own since I was 17. In ten years I have only missed a Kohl's payment three times and all this time it was their fault for getting the email address wrong. I made a typo and did not add the "L" in gmail but they should have figured this out. Guess they are as dumb as Tasha12 and th!sman. Also what is wrong with the "I" key on your keyboard. Are you like 12 or something only a child would user ! instead of l.

To the lady that wrote this post. You are sick. This is like a slap on the face for those who really have been sexually assaulted and you make it harder for them to be believed because of people like the OP. Even if this lady was unfairly fired he does not deserved to have his life ruined. Drake the lady does not deserve to be sexually assaulted. But you even admitted in another review to beating your wife and then claimed someone was pretending to be you. The username is exactly the same so either someone hoodwinked your account or you did beat your wife and are not man enough to admit it.

Kohl's charge account

I have had a kohls charge since 1997, I had a 62 laspe between payments and yet have paid them over 700 in 8 months towards my balance to find out that when I lasped my payment with no notice to the consumer, they shut down my credit card. I aslo have noticed that beyond the interest charges; which kohls use to not place on account holders, they also have been charging me another fee for an ease plan; which I never authorized. I speak to customer service and I have been told that I can not get bakc the ease plan money, but I can pay off my balance and re-apply for a new account. Please. I will never set foot into another Kohls in my life, their original no interest policy was good, their items over priced but for no interest you don't mind. But to just shut your account down over a 32.00 missed payment seems to be very bad business, especially when I actually am someone who has never prior nor after that 62 days missed a payment. Had it been 59 days my account would have remained opened. And the insurance; I think that there should be some type of repercussion against kohls that one should be able to have because I did not agree to such a plan, I did not sign up for a plan and I had no knowledge of a plan.

But you did sign up to make your payments on time, so you can't be angry at them to shutting your card off for not following the agreement you signed up for.

Kohl's discount coupons and pick your day offers

Kohls does not offer to ALL their customers the same discount privileges. They offer anyone who has charges in EXCESS of $700 an 'MVC' status that supposedly offers them 12 Discount coupons and 6 Pick-Your-day offers. Regardless if a person lives as a roommate with another person in an apartment or house and who also has a Kohls Account and NOT A RELATIVE in any way, THEY WILL only offer discounts to one person within that address! How wrong is this! I was told they have different level of discounts and are NOT obligated to print this for the public to see. THIS IS FALSE ADVERTISING. The consumer is not being given full privileges as a card member. This company LIES to it's customers!

Kohl's refusing to provide accurate billing statements

I opened my Kohl's charge account in 03/12. I never received my charge card nor my statement. I started receiving calls in 05/12, I explained to the first rep at that time that I have not received either of the listed above. It was explained the my address on file was incorrect (my apt was not included) and that the correct information was added and the (2) would be in the mail. Today is July 15th: (5) Reps, (2) Supervisors later: I have not received my card, I was told on (3) occasions a correct statement would be mailed (one reflecting the reversed late fees). My account information; in order to access my online charge acct to view and pay my bill, cannot be provided to me either via phone or email (that's against Kohl's policy). I was informed this evening from the rep Mario: that "late fees are not reversed, that the previous reps I have spoked to (one being a supervisor) only said that to me to get me off the phone", "that maybe if I paid my bill I wouldn't have to call" and, from Wendy and Super/Saul: "A corrected/accurate statement reflecting the reversed charges will not be provided to me until I make a payment".

Go into a store site. The associate can even look up your account number with a license. Find out what you owe without the extra charges and make a payment for that amount with cash or paper check. Have the associate call Kohl's Charge for you and ask that the additional charges be lifted because of confusion and they will do it once they see you have made a payment. However, don't wait much longer because now you really are becoming delinquent because you realize you do have a balance that you owe.

Kohl's messing order up.

It's not the first time that Kohl's messes up my order. I ordered Denim Jeans for my husband in size 34-29. The jeans had 34-29 everywhere except for the inside ticket which said size 40. This was a father's day gift which now he won't receive. I will return it to the store for my refund. I also recently ordered a swim-tee shirt for my husband/father's day gift and later received an email that the order was cancelled. I called customer service and the lady that helped me ordered another one for me. Next day, I get another email saying THAT order was cancelled as well. The customer service rep. did not take the time to research the item. If she did, she would find out that the item was discontinued or on back order. Finally, I did order a different swim shirt for my husband for father's day and they were nice enough to pay for expedited shipping at no charge. As I said in the beginning, not the first time they mess up my order. I wish they would get their act together!

Kohl's 15% off codes didn't work

Have been a Kohls department customer since this store came into my neighbnorhodd 8 to 10 years ago and have always had good experiences. I bought two watches for my parenst for christmas and haver paternized your store for many years. I went to the website this week and saw codes that instructed me to take to the cashier for an extra 15 percent off of my purchase and the code was good until 1/28/2012. The casher seemed open to accept the discount and that is when assistant store manager Mary walked up. Mary said flatly no; she would not take the coupon as I had to have a scannable coupon, That is not what the ad said; the internet ad said just give the codes to the cashier.

What disturbed me the most was Mary’s Cocky attitude. Her attitude said “‘I am in charge; I have no sympathy; I have no understanding; The answer is simply no and that is that. With the many dollars that I have spent with Kohls; taking an extra dollar or two off of this sweater would have only cemented me more as a long time Kohls customer. Mary needs to realize that this is not the only company in town and this is not the only Kohls store in town. I would have spoken to the manager had he been in the store.

Mary attitude towards me is totally unacceptable. If the Kohls site had allowed me to print a coupon; believe me I would have. The site however told me to take the printed codes to the cashier and they would take care of the rest. Mary owes me an apology and Mary needs an attitude adjustment so that she treats future Kohls customers with more dignity; understanding and respect; Or Mary needs to find herself a new line of work where she does not have to deal with customers as we are the ones who pay her salary.

Kohl's caused my account to go into an overdraft

On Jan.29, 2012 I went into a local Khols Department store to purchase an item that I seen in the Ad. I was instructed by a Sales Associated the item had to be purchased On Line only because of the size .The Sales Associated directed me to call Khols Customer Service online to place the order in the amount of $217.79. After giving the Sales Associate all my Personal Banking Credit/ Debit Card information in the event of placing the order on-line the order was decline.
After looking over my bank account I’ve notice a Khols charge in the amount of $78.69 however that purchase was not made.

I have contacted Khols customer service after researching the data they see where the order was place and decline. After giving the Card information they didn’t see any purchases made at Khols with that card. However i don’t know why this charge was made in that amount I was informed to wait 72 hours being that it shows pending on my bank statement. I foresee this being Fraudulent and this has caused my account to go into an overdraft.

Kohl's kohl's gift item return with receipt

I returned a gift item with the receipt(but the person who purchased the gift paid with her kohls credit card.)The lady at the return desk said she credited the the person who purchased the gift . I said it was a gift and she said what did you expect, this is the way we do it. I said so I’m out a gift. I figured she was new and figured she needed more training. Another lady at a different window heard what was said and told me she could give me in store credit which was fine .

So I said to the Lady that(I figured was new ) are you new? She said no she’d been there 13 years I said well Kohls needs to give more training! She was soooooooooooo rude I’m thinking why is she in customer service .It was a bad day at Kohls . After I spent the in store credit the cashier instead of handing my few dollars back she laid it on the counter and shoved it at me. I can’t believe these people work for a business that relys on the public for a paycheck.

My fiance’ and I come to kohl’s maybe once a month on average, sometimes separately, and every single time we visit kohl’s we are intolerantly badgered about opening a kohl’s card! I said NO the first 3x stop harassing me! Today was the last draw; I felt insulted and agitated. I just came to look for christmas gift ideas and I was pestered for 5 minutes about the discounts, etc. I know what it is and if I want it I’ll say yes at the register; if not, leave me alone about it!

Normally if you have the original receipt, gift item or not, any credit is made in the same tender as payment was made. If you have a gift receipt then you get a store credit.

Kohl's kohl's manager didn't honor 15% coupon

I was shopping at the store located at Bay Parkway Brooklyn, NY on Dec.28, 2011. The mananger of the store did not honor my 15% of coupon when I used my Kohls charge for my purchase. I had purchased two pairs of gloves, 3 Kohls Cares books and 2 kohls care stuffed animals. I also had a $20 kohls cash coupon as well. My Kohls cash was applied, which only $19.20 came off because it can’t be used for the purchase of Kohls Cares items. The cost of the two gloves came out to be a total of $19.20. I said to the mananger that the 15% didn’t come off. He said he needed to void the entire order so that the 15% could be applied.

So I waited while the order was voided and then rung up again. Well the total did not change from the first time it was rung up. I again addressed this to the mananger and he proceeded to tell me that I received one of the stuffed animals for free. This was ridiculous because I had 7 items and that’s what was exactly on my receipt. There was no minus of any item cost on my receipt. When I was showing him the receipt he then said that I received 15% off the gloves because it can not be used for Kohls Cares items.

Again, this is ridiculous because it was not on the receipt. In fact, as I stated before the total amount was no different then the first time the items were rung up. At this point it was infantile, and I was just too disgusted to continue to explain to this manager. In other words, I paid more then I should have. I didn’t even get credit for the remaining $0.80. I know that it’s not a lot of money that I am speaking about, but in today’s economy every bit counts. I want to officially report this manager to his superiors. He was incompetent, unaccommodating, and argumentative.

I don’t know his name but I can describe him and the time he was working at the store. He is an Africian American male about 5″10 and pudgy. He was working the night of Dec.28, 2011 until closing. Before this I have never had a problem shopping in Kohls. I had always respected the kind of personnel that this store had employed. Everyone that I had come in contact with prior to this was compentent, polite, and very accommdating Howerver, I no longer feel that way. I am an advit shopper at Kohls, but if this kind of treatment happens again I will only do my shopping at Walmart.

Dollar discounts come off before percents. The Kohl's Cash covered all of your merchandise that was subject to discount (KCK items don't qualify). The computers will not even allow a cashier/manager to override this policy. Therefore, it did not matter in what order coupons were scanned and yes, your balance stayed the same.

From the 28th of December until the time you posted this complaint, did you attempt to contact the store manager about this issue?

If you read the back of the Kohl's Cash, it states that coupon will be applied before any other percent off offer. This means that the kohl's cash would be taken off your total first and then the % off discount would be applied to the remaining balance. Your kohl's cash paid for all of the items except the Kohl's Cares charity items, which discounts are not given on. This means that there was no remaining total that was eligible for your % off discount.

That manager should have known this, but that is the reason you don't get the % off discount on your purchase.

Kohl's I will not be returning to the kohl's on thomasville road in tallahassee, fl again

A friend and I went to Our favorite kohl’s tonight each with two $10 off coupons (2 from our emails and 2 from our mothers’ emails). Anyway, we have gone before with multiple (but not obscene) amounts of coupons and cashiers have been very kind and let us use them. Tonight, while Christmas shopping, we went up to the register only to have a manager say we absolutely could not use them all due to the policy (perfectly fine! Some feel that way!).

The policy is not my complaint! So we made our first purchases, first hers, then mine, and backed ip from the register to review our remaining items. When you’re a college student, every discount counts! While she held our bagged purchases away from the cart, I shuffled through the few items left deciding if I wished to pay $19.99 for an item I originally thought would be $10 cheaper (paying double what I expected?- worth rethinking). Then my friend said that the manager was going to every cashier and telling them we had already used our maximum amount of coupons for the night and not to let us blah blah blah.

All while pointing us out and watching us… How rude and unprofessional can you get?! I LOVE kohl’s and have never had an incident like this before! We were both offended and shocked by her behavior :( She made us feel like criminals! Again, all I wanted to do was reevaluate and decide how much more money I was willing to spend! I will not be returning to the Kohl’s on thomasville road in Tallahassee, FL again. No paying customer (or even someone just browsing) deserves to be treated like a criminal!

There should not have been a limit on what you were allowed to use.; I would be interested to know who it was who treated you in such a way. I also would encourage u to talk to the store manager over this. We as employees do frown on those that come in with 5 to 10 10$ off coupons but for someone to have 2, that is normal. Please either let me know who it was or contact the store manager.

Kohl's me nor my friends will ever shop at khols again and I will be warning all canadians

All Canadians beware of Kohls! We live north of the border and frequently, a large group of us head south for 2.5 hours to shop. In August, I was badgered into getting a credit card to save on my purchase. The purchase was for less than 40 dollars. When I received the bill, I called Kohls to pay for my purchase with another credit card or debit and was denied. I was told I would have to pay at the store or purchase an international money order. I was told that it was now 50 dollars because of the late fee. By the time I had purchased the money order, I was told another late fee of 5 dollars had been added. Now, I owed 55 dollars.

So, I put the money order and a 5 dollar American bill in the envelope and mailed it in. I was not going to purchase another money order as they are 3 dollars each. The store had no problem getting the unusual payment BUT they told me I was late again and now owed another 52 dollars in late fees! What the hell? I have talked to the billing department and they tell me I still 52 dollars even though I paid 55 dollars on a 40 dollar purchase! All told, my 40 dollar purchase was to be 107 dollars! Are you kidding me? This all took place in the span of 4 months!

My wife got a toaster as a gift at Kohl’s. When i plugged it in for the first time, it popped and asmall flame shot out of one of the toaster slots. We returned it and the returns dept had us get another one off the shelf of the same brand. We plugged it in to see if it was going to work. The one toasterslotn wont stay dowwn plus the powwer light dont stay on.Atthis point im getting mote disgusted with the garbage this country imports from china. The inspection sticker is on this appliance indicating it passed inspection.

Obviously the inspector was taking a nap that day.I think kohls should give away a fire estinguisher for every food network toaster they sell.I would appreciate a response to this e mail. 107 dollars for a 40 dollar purchase! Me nor my friends will EVER shop at Khols again and I will BE warning all Canadians…. DO NOT SHOP AT KOHLS…. THEY DO NOT TELL YOU THE STRICT PAYMENT METHODS AND YOU WILL BE PAYING 100% INTEREST IN LATE FEES.! FELLOW CANADIANS….STAY AWAY FROM KOHLS!

I am sorry that you had a bad experience with the KC. However, it seems a bit extreme to never shop there again. If you are signing up for a charge in another country, you really want to read the fine print. You could easily remedy the situation in the future by immediately paying the charge off with cash after you get the savings with the coupon. That way, you don't have to worry about payment once you are north of the border again.
